Hotel is in a great location. Right across the street from the beach, walking distance to lots of stores and restaurants. The hotel itself is a bit dated and needs some updating. The hallway carpets were heavily stained. The room I had was aging, but large and comfortable. There is also a nice pool. Staff was friendly as well. Overall it was just OK

We stayed Monday- Friday. Water was not hot in the shower the first night. Maintenance fixed it the next day and the following day the water in the shower was cold again. No one came back to see if the water was still hot.

Hotel is amazing so is the staff, I booked this hotel because it was so close to the beach and can just walk there and back, but then came to find out that you only get a very tiny space for public beach which has very limited space. so ended up driving to the henderson beach state park paying $6 every entry. But overall my experience with my stay was amazing and would stay there again!

The property was nice but it is dated. The outside areas clean, breakfast good. The carpet in the hallways old and furnishings dated. There is no beach access. You have to walk to a public access.

Front desk staff at checkin was unpleasant, unhelpful, unaccommodating, and unwelcoming.
It is their job to friendly manner and check them in with a smile. This was not the case at this hotel.

Overall moderate to poor experience. Great location, easy walk to the beach, nice looking building. However, in our room the air conditioner barely worked and made an awful noise all night and day. I found the bed and pillows pretty uncomfortable. We also ran out of shower gel halfway through our week stay and it was never refilled.

This is our 3rd visit to this particular property in 5 years. However this trip we were disappointed. The property is really showing wear. When doors & walls are knicked and the carpet is worn and bubbling it does not feel clean. I saw staff cleaning the 1st floor most days. However, it just doesn't seem clean when everything is so worn.

2 elevators 1 was down for the first couple days, house keeping failed to make up bed and put clean towels out even after we asked about having our room cleaned. Most of the staff does not speak or understand English.

The room was not clean. Actual trash was sitting on the night stand as we arrived. There was no shampoo in the room. When requesting shampoo, none was ever delivered to the room. We arrived a couple hours early. when requesting to check in a little early, we were told a flat 'no.' 4pm it is. During our stay, there is no way the hotel was at capacity. The staff just wasn't willing to look and see if a room was available an hour early.

Handicap Room
Was given a handicapped room, water leaves the shower area and makes the rest of the bathroom floor slippery, wet and shower walls were dirty. No shower caps or do not disturb signs in the room. Had to go to the desk to get a remote control for the tv.

Everything was clean and in good repair. The place was quiet and the staff was friendly. Location was great. Good value. Very short walk to a small public beach access. Easy to get to everything in Destin (but you definitely need a car.) Breakfast was just barely ok. There were lots of options but everything was very clearly preprocessed and warmed up. We don't expect a gourmet breakfast, but this was below what we would expect for a free hotel breakfast. Would have 5 stars if the breakfast had been better.

From the first employee to the last, we encountered nothing but friendly people! Our room was clean, the breakfast was great, the view was beautiful (we picked the partical ocean view), the walk to the ocean was short, every staff was kind, etc. I cannot say enough about how great our stay was. I would recommend and definitely stay again!

Location is the only reason to stay here. Right in the middle of Destin it’s so easy to get around. The Back Porch restaurant and public beach access within a 2-minute walk. The downside is that it’s very outdated. Carpets in room and hall are old and it shows. Doors and walls beat up. Hot water takes forever. Electric outlets are slow to charge devices. Staff not overly friendly but efficient.

Friendly staff throughout the stay. Our room was very nice and clean, although the couch cushions were stacked on the ottoman, the minifridge wasn't cold enough for food storage, and we didn't have any towels or towelettes (an easy fix). Breakfast was nice, and overall, we enjoyed our stay.

My mini vacation
Our stay was way more than we expected. Our room was spectacular, the bed was just right, I slept so comfortable that I was laughing in my sleep, my husband band said he woke up and thought I was on the phone with someone. The staff were very helpful. The water pressure from the shower was just right. My next mini vacation will be there again.

Upon our arrival, our Fire alarm was going off and when we contacted the front desk, the receptionist told us it was not a big deal and to “deal with it, there’s nothing I can do.” I am a career firefighter and I told her that I would not go back into the room until the alarm had been reset and cleared by the fire department as safe to enter, and she said “then find somewhere else to go.” Our sink was clogged and had stagnant water in it, our lights would not turn on and the room was extremely dirty with stains on the bedsheets and debris all over the carpet. When these issues were also brought to the other receptionists attention, she said that there was nothing we could do about it and to contact Expedia for a refund. I am highly disappointed in the service that they provided, and the poor attitude from the receptionists did not help either. We only stayed for one night and left, and still had to pay the remaining bill for nights we were not there. I am extremely disappointed and will not be using Hampton Inn or Expedia again unless this is resolved.

Could have been better
Hidden parking fee of $10 per day. No real storage area (dresser) for clothes for 4 people. They did offer to move us, but we were already settled and did not want to move. Overall, it was a good facility.

Had a decent stay, the place is just kind of tired - needs a renno.

Nice and clean with maintenance issues.
The room was nice and clean. The facilities were also good. But our room had several problems. The light bulb on the night stand was out. The cable control remote did not work. The kitchen sink barely drained. And elevator 'A' next to our room buzzed so loud it woke us up. Breakfast was good and the pool was good.

O didn't like i had to pay 30.00 Dollars to park for 3 nites if I would have known that I wouldn't have stayed and had to clean the toilet cause it was still dirty meant to say something but evertime I went down stairs I would forget y'all got to do better and y'all need to pull up that dirty carpet

The only thing is the parking. I saw a QR Code but I was thinking it was for people that park at the hotel and go to the beach from there(crossing the street) but no is for everybody. Next day I went to an outlet and got a parking ticket on my window(citation)because my tag was not registered on the system.

Work trip staying near the beach
Location (close to beach) and pool were fabulous. Breakfast bar was good with some variety on main entree. Room refrigerator had problems chilling drinks and keeping food cold, even though it was working correctly. Parking app was a pain, but that is beyond hotel control. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice room and great shower!

Very disappointed
Our room wasnt ready when we arrived, we had to wait. We booked the hotel for 5 people & we didnt have enough towels or sheets, pillow & blanket for sofa bed & we had to go to the front desk, they couldnt bring to the room. We had 1 1/4 rolls of toilet paper, went to the front desk & she said she didnt have any thay she would send it up & she never did. We had to stop a cleaning lady in a hallway for some. The sofa bed, which we used for the 5th adult had a mattress an inch thick & he couldnt use cause the bar was hurting his back. Had to close it up & sleep on the sofa which is very small & uncomfortable so he still woke up with an aching body. Advertised 400 ft from the beach, which it is but u cant get to the beach by crossing the street & most of the beach by the hotel is reserved for people in the hotels that are on the beach. Staff not friendly at all. Didnt apologize for not having our room ready, breakfast staff doesnt say good morning or anything for that matter. Overall, it wasnt unbearable, but definitely not worth $350 a night. I would have expected this type of hotel if I paid $150 a night.

Wonderful hotel in a prime location
We booked this hotel as part of a last-minute getaway for a long weekend. We have two young children under 6 and we couldn’t have asked for a better mid-level hotel! The location was fantastic…we walked to and from the beach every day, which was less than a 5 minute walk. The Back Porch is right there on the beach and has fantastic food and service, so we popped in there for lunch and walked over one night for dinner.
Back to the hotel, all hotels catering to families should copy their pool setup! It has a wonderful shallow end where our 2-year-old could stand up and safely play, along with a mushroom spray fountain both of our children loved. We went swimming fairly late one night and even then, the pool was very family-friendly (no loud music or obnoxious guests hanging out). In fact, our oldest daughter made a friend and we regularly met up her family at the pool so they could play.
There were plenty of hot and cold breakfast items served daily in a clean common area.
My only complaint is that housekeeping didn’t come by until check-out, which I can somewhat understand post-COVID. However, it would have been nice to have clean towels without having to ask the front desk for them.

A Great Place to Stay
My kids and I stayed a few nights to enjoy the beach and Big Kahunas. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

The room carpets were soiled and the bathroom floor was sticky. The pillows had a sour smell. The hallway carpeting aw dirty and had an odor. I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and got a different hotel thru Expedia. I am seeking a refund from Expedia as the hotel would not address the refund.

This hotel doesn't have beach access.
This beachside hotel has no beach access. This is absolutely unreal to me. It should be a legal requirement to state - in all caps - "YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WALK TO THE BEACH IF YOU STAY HERE. NO BEACH ACCESS." in the listing if your guests are going to have to get in their car and drive over to Fort Walton Beach in order to find decent public access to a beach because. What is point really of booking a hotel that is quite literally in the parking lot of the beach, you can see the beach from the hotel, and yet you have no beach access. The attendants will tell you there is a public beach at the end of the street near The Porch, but that is a joke. This is a clear bait and switch and an obvious rip off.

Room was clean and staff was nice enough.. but the a/c was so loud that it was hard to sleep and didnt cool that good.. asked if they had a room with a quieter a/c but they said they were all the same.. free breakfast was actually pretty good..
