Good location for university and downtown.. The front desk rep could have been more cordial at checkin. The bed needs to be updated and it needs more charging stations for today's devices. Breakfast was above average but could be improved with better hot cooked foods and cereals, yogurts, etc.

Met my needs well
Just an overnight stay because of an early morning appointment at UVA Hospital. Property is VERY convenient to that location. Room was large and comfortable, clean, and very quiet for being in the first floor streetside. I would stay there again.

I was surprised that they charged for parking since an automobile seems to be the only way to get there. The "accessible" room was hardly ADA compliant with only one grab bar in the shower.

Didn't like the noise from the street (cars) until about 10 pm.
Positive - everything else. Staff was super, breakfast good, location to the Walking Mall and the Amtrak Depot was wonderful.

Great hotel, just avoid rooms facing Main Street. Could be noisy at times in the night/early morning hours - Fire station down the street with trucks blaring sirens as they pass by.

It was convenient were we needed to go for our appointment. Nice area overall.
Was a big crawling bug on the ceiling and a spider on the bed, they offered us another room but it was already after midnight and we didn't want to wake our baby up to do so!

The entire experience was terrible from the beginning. No staff @desk upon checkin. Expedia getting my name wrong on reservation.
TV not operating. Staff unconcerned including mgr I reported experience to following Monday since was Saturday night stay. Room next door shaking walls from kids next door. Just one of worse customer concerns ever experienced from hotel. HAVE STAYED THERE BEFORE WHEN FAMILY IN HOSPITAL & all was well then but this time seems new management doesn't seem to care. Will NOT return

The room was clean and up to date. Since cleaning service is no longer readily available, there should be an easy way to dump your trash.

The front desk staff was professional, helpful and very pleasant. The hotel was one of the nicest Hampton Inns that I have stayed at and I have stayed at a lot, as I generally prefer them. My only complaint would be the pillows, there was not much substance to them. Otherwise, absolutely perfect

My wife wanted to buy a bottle of water and was told she could not because the person at the desk "WAS TAKING INVENTORY." There were only 3 or 4 bottles in the cooler! Can't you hire people who can count?

We had room 123. It was next to lobby, next to kitchen, next to bathrooms in lobby...all we heard was noise all night.
Hearing cooking for breakfast was awful at 5:45 am and whenever someone entered hotel lobby you heard noise and talkinng.
This room should never be used for guests.

Visiting UVA
Visited UVA for 2 days. Hotel is down the block from the Amtrak station and steps from the University. Very friendly staff and a free breakfast included. Coffee and tea available 24 hours in the lobby. Decent sized room with a comfortable bed. Shower water pressure could be better. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very good. Room was perfectly clean. Very comfortable bed. Nice sized fridge and even a microwave.
conveniences include: shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, mouthwash, lotion, hairdryer, iron, free wifi
oddly missing: pen/paper, in-room safe
There wasn't housekeeping service during my 2-night stay, but I suspect that may have been due to COVID? If so they should mention that at check-in. Since it was only 2 nights, no biggie.
Breakfast was fairly good. The hot tray changes by the day so don't see something on day 1 and plan to get it on day 2! Seems that daily there are waffles, bagels, cereal, fruit, oatmeal. The hot tray seems to be some kind of egg, some kind of meat....
In the afternoons they put out snacks. One day they had cookies, and the next popcorn.
Hotel is an 8-minute walk to the Rotunda. 10 minute drive to Monticello. Easy.

It is close to UVA Hospital. The reason for this visit. There were no instructions for operating the tv, telephone, or heating unit. I was told the heating system is old and may take time to heat up. It took 45 minutes for the heat to come on.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Clean facilities, convenient walk from the Amtrak station and to the campus. Enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant, especially scrambled eggs during my final morning. I look forward to using this facility during my next visit to Charlottesville.

The hotel was old and dated looking. I booked a single King bed room and was given a handicap equipped room which is inconvenient if your not handicapped because the shower is lower. The location was perfect because its walking distance to UVA and the Downtown Mall which both areas were great to visit. For the price of this hotel i would try a different hotel next time.

Very close to UVA University Hospital, which was the reason I chose to stay at this location. Free shuttle service to and from the hospital. They also offer discounts on your room if you are staying there because of hospital visits. Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean and quiet, couldn't ask for any better.
