Great! Pool not so.
Great time. Stayed in late January. Pool was cloudy and just didnt seem right as chemicals go. My husband really enjoyed his workout at the gym. Staff were really amazing. Overall would stay there again.

Being charged $25 for checking in early was ridiculous. Also, know that you are next door to a fire station. I didn't hear anything while I slept, but you hear the sirens during the day. Breakfast was great and a nice plus.

We stayed in a corner suite which was perfect for our needs. We had a conference for the weekend and were able to work and relax. The kitchen was very helpful for our grandchildren and us to have snacks and have extra space! Excellent option.

Loved our stay at this property! The hotel was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, and the pool was amazingly warm. It was easy to get wherever we wanted to go downtown. The only reason I give the property four stars is that it’s next to the fire department—so there are a lot of sirens at all hours—and the elevators were at reduced capacity due to improvements, making them a bit slow.

One of the towel at my room has blood on it! Not clean for sure. But what can you expect for an Inn located in downtown Chicago? It is not five-star anyway, right? The location is fantastic given the price.

I was disappointed that the hotel took a $200 deposit for 2 nights. Seemed very unnecessary and was taken from credit card for few days.
Also breakfast eggs were horrible.
Coffee in the lobby and water would be nice.

Fantastic hotel. Fantastic location. The room was absolutely perfect. Very large with a great view. Plenty of room for storage in the room. Nice large kitchen area. Bathroom was great as well. Was able to drop bags off early to go sightseeing. Pool and breakfast were also great. Easy walking distance to many sights. Very easy to catch an Uber as well.

It was okay to stay but hotel gave us room in the 10th floor and 2 lift was not working only one lift was working today morning I had to catch my flight and I waited 30 minutes for lift, I was about to miss my flight so that was worse experience thanks

This place has an amazing Aura as you enter the lobby. The receptionist was friendly, the valet person was very nice and we like the room. With a big family having a spacious room is much needed. We will definitely come back and recommend this hotel.

Good and convenient hotel for a quick getaway
The room was clean and was the bathroom. The hotel itself is in a great location near a bunch of great options for dining and entertainment. The front desk was super kind and helpful. I felt safe the whole stay. The free breakfast nice and convenient. The rates were very reasonable for downtown Chicago.
My only complaint was that the bathroom smelled and and and the smell would go away when the toilet was flushed. But the smell would return a few minutes after the toilet was flushed. Other than that, I'd definitely stay at this hotel again.

It was problematic when trying to get up and down on the elevators. When I checked out, waited for the elevator for over 20min. I had to take the stairs.

Noise! Property next to firehouse. If you get a room that looks on the main road won’t be able to sleep at all. When called I was told they could not change my room, when threatened to leave they did change it.

Hampton Inn is a low profile Hilton hotel.
Booked a big room and got it.
One sofa-bed, living room, and bedroom separately.
The only bad thing is the bathroom and shower.

Is cold due the air exhaustion. Nothing to do.
And Shower actually has a 5/10 grade. Low water pressure. And the cold I mentioned before of the bathroom, not the water.

Staff was extremely friendly, helpful and willing to help with any issues we had while traveling with a school group. The hot breakfast was very nice and well maintained. Our room was exceptionally clean! Would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Chicago!

Be aware that the hotel is right next to a fire station that makes frequent calls. Fortunately we brought a box fan because we normally use one and that helped quite a bit.

The hotel itself was great. No complaints - it was clean; staff were very friendly, and the breakfast had great options. The only complaint we had was the location. Less than a block from the hotel is a fire station. That kept waking us up all night. Would not recommend this specific hotel if you have an infant or children that wake easily.

We loved staying at this hotel. It is well located, comfortable and clean. The staff is nice too. We only suggest to add a microwave in the regular rooms.There is a microwave in the lobby, but placing them in the rooms would be more convenient. Highly recommend them.

Updated and clean. Staff is very friendly and willing to help but limited by hotel policies, like daily housekeeping, utensils/plates for kitchenette.
Cons:
suite that sleeps 5 has only one bath, sink faucet is not positioned correctly and has weak flow (not fixed after the call), nearby fire station is big noise, limited sound insulation, self park is not close.

Discount parking using spot hero app.
Excellent room, pool was good breakfast was great.
Only complaint is regarding the app. I booked through expedia, and expedia sent me an email asking me to use the Hilton app. I set it up and when we arrived the hilton app told me i was 3x as far away as I shouldve been. The app had the wrong address. Thank goodness we didnt walk 32 minutes the wrong way!! We double checked expedia and did check in at the desk. All was normal. The only error was in the app sooooo yep. Our stay was otherwise excellent and it was a very safe walk to the house of blues! Well lit.

Great hotel, friendly staff, easy 2-block walk to the House of Blues. Downsides: lots of sirens (near a fire station), expensive parking that is not on-site. But so many easily walkable things to do that if you are planning to do things downtown you can just leave your car parked the whole time.

We enjoyed our stay here, it is kid friendly, free breakfast is a plus, one elevator was out while there so there was bit of wait. The hotel is across from fire station so once in a while the loud siren will go off but that did not really bother us. The location is fabulous and very walkable to all the shoppings and restaurants.

Wife and I stayed here for a long weekend getaway. Great staff and located in the middle of everything downtown. The free breakfast buffet was clutch to start each day with a full belly. Would stay there again!

A great stay. However, having a fire station 100 feet from our hotel window was not a calming feature. Several times each day (and also each night), a fire department vehicle would switch on its siren while departing the station. My guess is that their procedure manual requires activating the siren even in the middle of the night, with zero traffic for a mile in any direction.

The one-bedroom corner suite with two queen beds had plenty of room and was easy to keep at a comfortable temperature with the thermostat. The beds were super comfortable.
The layout of the suite was nice (especially with entrances to the bathroom from both the bedroom and entry hallway), although having one of the bathroom doors right next to one of the beds is not ideal.
The kitchen area was nice but not particularly well equipped (I would have liked at least an electric water kettle, a toaster, and more utensils and things like measuring cups). Some of the cutlery in the drawer was dirty.

Had a 2 night stay. Early check in was not a problem, but for a fee. Valet parking was easy. It’s right beside the fire station and you can hear the sirens from time to time, but, it did not affect our sleep. Easy walking distance to the subway station, navy pier, river walk and lots of other sites.

Labor Day Trip
We check in extremely late due to a delayed flight. The gentleman at the front desk greeted us cheerfully at 3am and gave incredible service. The room was spacious the breakfast was wonderful and everyone was extremely nice. It was close to all major things, Red line, restaurants, etc. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful big room for the 2 adults and 4 kids. Everything felt clean and new. Big bright windows. Nice pool for the kids and decent included breakfast. Valet parking quite expensive, but we just left the car there during our stay and walked/took transit everywhere. Would definitely recommend!

Fire station nextdoor
This is nextdoor to the fire station and we woke up all night from sirens. The breakfast area is a complete nightmare, the space and seating were too small. The elevators couldn't keep up with the amount of guests, parking is 5 driving blocks away if valet is full. Only bright spot was how kind Porsche at the front desk was.

Very clean. Friendly staff. Pool is nice. Parking is outrageous. We got stuck in the elevator and they gave us some Hilton points which we probably won’t use. Emergency phone wasn’t working. They got us out and almost immediately were letting people use the same elevator.

* No parking for less than 60 dollars a day.
* Valet Parking guy there on Sunday when we left had his personal car parked out front and refused to move it so hotel guests could load / unload their luggage.

Room was nice, comfortable bed, good bathroom and shower. Breakfast was good but the breakfast room, although very large, was crowded and chaotic. Finding seating was a challenge. Sleep was difficult because of a fire station 1/2 block away blasting sirens throughout the night. One staff member named Innocence was very friendly and helpful. The valet was nice and helpful. One of the men at the check-in desk was also upbeat (I think he was in charge of groups checking in) but another was unfriendly and unhelpful. Overall a good value.

We were greeted by the BEST employee, Porsha, at Hampton Inn on Illinois St, who helped us several times during our stay & could not have hoped for better service, positive & genuine human interaction, top notch amenities, and stellar breakfast daily! We will only stay here in future trips to Chicago!!

Great location in River North neighborhood. Many bars and restaurants in walkable distance from hotel. The riverfront is only a 10 minute walk. Train and subway connections are close by. The hotel elevator is quite dated but the rest of the facility was very nice and comfortable.
