We chose this Hampton for the location needing to get North of Chicago. As for pet friendly, we were unaware of the $50 fee and the $50 incidental fee. The incidental was returned but as Diamond member who stayed at a Home 2 the night before W/O fees it felt wrong. If traveling with our dog we will avoid Hamptons in the future.

I was there for four days and my room wasn’t cleaned/refreshed once. The trash piled up. One thing I like about staying in hotels is having my bed made for me everyday. That didn’t happen once. I was really disappointed. The staff was friendly though. And I guess I saved money in tips because I always tip the housekeepers about $5-8 dollars a day.

No hot water
We had no hot water in am, reported to front desk at 8:10am, by 9 am still no hot water so we checked out

Great option in Gurnee
We stayed for just 1 night at this hotel - and found it perfect for our needs. It was well-located, clean, and the staff were all very friendly. It could use some updating - but overall, it was an extremely pleasant stay and would definitely stay again if back in this area.

Heat didn’t work
Everything was fine except the thermostat seemed to do nothing, the room was very cold and we turned on the heat on the thermostat but it never got warmer. My partner was freezing the whole night. Otherwise everything was fine.

I expected the facilities and food to be up to the amount of money I paid for the room. The furniture was worn, although the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. However the food was definitely not up to standard. I took two bits and went to Mc Donalds.

My stay was short, and I couldn’t have had a better experience for such a short time the man at the front desk I believe his name was Lucas was fantastic he helped me with everything I needed such a grate place will definitely come back in the future and recommend this place to friends n family

Everything was great. 2nd time there and I liked the service and people at front desk were friendly. Room is nice and clean. Everything is in walking distance to hotel. The breakfast buffet is awesome. Great stay.

We were in the Lake County area and spent more time than originally planned and did not want to have to drive 1.5 hours to get home so we needed to find a room for the night. The Hampton was a good price and nearby. The hotel was accommodating and clean. We arrived very late and there was staff that assisted us onto the premises.

I didn’t like that the iron didn’t work and blow dryer was dirty (had sticky stuff on it as if someone dropped soda or something exploded on it) I did mention it to the front desk on our way out.

For the most part we enjoyed our stay, very friendly and accommodating staff! Clean. Only complaint beds seemed very comfy at first but everyone ( 4 of us ) woke in the middle of the night with complaints that the longer in bed the more uncomfortable they were!

We were happy with the hotel and its convince to food and shopping. The shower was great, the bed and pillows comfortable. Although lots of kids were staying there the room was quiet. Breakfast was good. We would stay again.

The hotel was very nice, a lot of breakfast options as well as great front desk service! Very kind!
There was a couple of hairs on the bathroom floor when I arrived as well as what I assume to be chocolate smears on the air conditioner unit, which i expected a bit due to other reviews but nothing that we felt needed to be an issue, just better cleaning for other guests id recommend.
Overall we were happy with the experience and would definitely book again happily!

A pool was listed but it is seasonal and not meantioned until small print. Usually don’t book on a website. Won’t be using a website or Hampton Inn again. My mistake and it cost me.

Came for my sons Navy boot camp graduation and staff was very accommodating and friendly to all the visitors we had (that came and went during the day). We literally took over the lobby and staff was very understanding and supportive of it. Rooms were clean!

If you want to use the sofa bed for additional sleeping spaces, you might want to inspect the exact room you will be booked into to make sure it is useable. Otherwise, this site is very accomodating and helpful.

Impressive Customer Service
We were very impressed with the overall quality and especially the customer service. They went above and beyond. Beryl took the kids in our group for a quick tour to see the pool while we checked in. She is a former teacher and talked with them about their favorite books. The man at the front desk took time after we checked in to continue to look for our rewards account and connect for us to get all available points.

Proximity to the park is just about the only thing this property has going for it. Came to stay after a few days in Chicago and brought along leftover Giordanos pizza to keep in the fridge - oh, wait, no fridge in any room. The whole property had a rather strange smell to it, and the walls between rooms seem about as thick as construction paper. We had to listen to our neighbor sing what sounded like terrible karaoke for almost two hours on our final night. Property is also in desperate need of updating. Vanity is one person only which significantly limits morning preparations. Nearly all parking in front of the building where our car could have been in view from our room is all reserved for "Diamond members" so I had to park on the side of the building which I was not happy about. Glad to know that I would still have to pay more for a sub-par hotel to even have the option to park in front and in view of our room. Will not be staying here again, and I recommend others don't, too. The Holiday Inn on the other side of 94 seems like a much better option and I wish I had opted for that hotel instead.

The hotel is fine for a short stay. The people are friendly and helpful. Small problems were - the room is small, the bathroom vanity is very small, and one end of the pool had a small area foamy gunk

Close to Six Flags, which was why we booked here. Room had Spiders, and dust bunnies but the bed was good after walking the park all day, it served it’s purpose. Parking wasn’t my idea of good parking. One long strip and the rest was off to the side so you can’t really keep an eye on your vehicle.

Disappointing
It was ok, and clean. The "sofa-bed" mattress was about an inch thick and my step-son scraped his leg on the metal of the sofa bed several times. It was really a love seat more than a sofa. I think the mattress was barely larger than a twin.The pillows were tiny for a king size bed and went flat as soon as you laid on them. The room as a whole was just not very comfortable. We don't think we will be staying here again.
