Property is under construction. It seemed like they are trying to update rooms and common areas. Our room was very dated, chairs and carpet stained, but clean. The towels looked worse for wear and stained. The outdoor spaces are beautiful to take in the ocean. The hot tub was Lukewarm. . Staff was friendly and helpful. Booked through another company so they were unable to see a lot of our info. Didn’t like that we had to give them our info in writing. Expected more from a Wyndham but for the money and location it was alright. Again outdoor spaces are beautiful. Loved the upper lounge area.

This is my second time staying here and there was some construction going on. The staff did a great job of making sure it was quiet for the most part. I would still stay here after they finish the work. It is very convenient and the rooms are nice.

The view from our room was incredible but they definitely could take better care of their property/rooms/amenities. Needs a little TLC but our waterfront room had an awesome balcony overlooking the ocean.

Great property you cannot beat the views at this hotel. Beds are very comfortable, large bathroom with nice size towels. Breakfast was standard which is fine for us. Only complaint is that unless you ask they do not make up your room which we were not told upon check-in. I would stay again if travelling to area. Great restaurant right next door .

Dove Creek could really be a nice place, but it needs help. If the pool has been heated and the hot tub has worked, that would have made a huge difference. It was nice to have kayaks and bikes to use. But they had no children’s bikes so we couldn’t use them. The breakfast was pretty good.
Our room key cards didn’t work so we have to use the master key. We only had one key and I was very afraid I would lose it.
The property was hard to find because the sign out front was broken.
The restaurant next door, Snapper’s, was pretty good and the restaurant wait staff was really friendly.

Avoid if you can!
This hotel seems old. The walls are dirty, the paint on the walls have not been maintained. It gives the room a very dirty feeling. The a/c is also old and doesn't work unless it's on full blast. Even then, it doesn't work well and smells "musty". The bathroom is very shoddy. The grout in the tile will probably cut you if you run your fingers over it. It's so rough. The large dresser in the bedroom is useless. You hit yourself every time you have to go around it to get around the bed. It should be gone and the tv that sits on top of it should be mounted on the wall for more space. This room was not cheap by any stretch. I would expect way more! Also, the parking is lacking. If you don't get a spot early enough, you will have to park far. I have to say the location and surroundings are nice but after all, you are in the Keys. Overall I would never stay again.

Don’t book here. :( The pictures made this resort look so beautiful, but the entire experience was just super strange. It said Wyndham resort, but I could never believe it is a Wyndham, it’s just so dirty. We paid over 400 dollars for our room and I just can’t even believe we spent that money. But we needed a place and their advertising truly fooled us. We didn’t even bother with the free breakfast after seeing the clumps of hair that were left in the shower and the dirty floors upon arrival. We didn’t even feel clean after our showers. This place has such potential, it’s just a scam sadly.

Lovely spot next to a lively but not noisy waterside restaurant, Snappers.
Apparently we were the first people in 20 years to turn off the a/c and try to open the windows - the runners were rusted and the counterweights lost in the mists of time. We're not American and apparently pushed the envelope.
A great setting for touring the keys.

Nice hotel - comfy and spacious
We stayed at the Dove Creek Resort in Key Largo for one night. The room was very comfortable and roomy. We did have a few very large ants in the room that needed squashing, but other than that it was fine.

it was an enjoyably property. staff was mostly pleasent. room could have been cleaner. the sliding door disnt lock. the ice machine wasnt working and we could only get ice during office hours. Pool and spa were. both cold and couldnt be used. we were to stay 2 night but canceled our second night.

Did not look like photos, downstairs was just a shell, under construction, confusing signage to find office, only one elevator functioning.
Checkin staff friendly and helpful, big points to Rose and the Jamaican girl. Our room had a faulty refrigerator full of ice and with a door gasket falling off, replaced fridge immediately.
We complained about the resort fee, which they said was for pool (not working since flood) hot tub (not working, parts missing), parking (gravel lot), towels (ragged), wifi (should be standard by now) and breakfast. (Toast, bagels, cereal). Rose said she would talk to the manager, and next day we saw it was waived.
Snapper’s resturant and bar next door was great. Front desk said they used to have discount cards for hotel guests, but they were out right now.

Unfortunately a storm hit the day before we arrived so the pool area was closed for our stay. There was a lot of debris around the yard, but the next morning they had a crew cleaning up the property. There was also scaffolding in front of the building as other repairs were being completed. We arrived at 9pm, however they did not notify us that the front desk closes at 7pm. With all the construction going around, it was difficult to find our way around the building to locate the desk and where they left our room keys. Continental breakfast was better than most, rooms were clean, staff was helpful. However, we noticed several ants inside the room with many crawling into our luggages. I found at least a half dozen inside each luggage when I returned home after our return flight. Outside of that, the stay was enjoyable. My wife and I took out complementary kayaks and it was a nice time out on the water.

3 room stay
We had a two day stay that spanned 3 rooms. Our first room (208) had the door handle come off while we were putting our luggage in the room. It trapped our luggage inside until my husband was able to get the handle on to open the door. The manager moved us to another room (212). That room was set to 64 degrees. We changed to raise the temp and it turned off completely. We never had a working air conditioner in that room again. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so our showers left the room very steamy. The ceiling fan was so wobbly it was loud and unstable. When we went to bed, there was a finger nail in the sheets. The second night when we got back and found out the air still wasn't fixed, the front desk said they were offering to move us again. So last night we spent in room (219). It was a nice room but only a queen bed which we paid for a king suite during our stay. I must say with all the problems we encountered, the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. This hotel is dated but that should lead to it's charm. The problems with this place are serious maintenance/replacement issues. A not working elevator, scaffolding where guests walk, an entire first floor under construction holes in the walls, ice machine that doesn't work are just a start of the long list with this place.

The pictures for this property are not the same as when we arrived. The whole place is under construction and there is minimal parking. Check in staff was friendly but the rest of the morning staff was not really helpful or friendly. They weren’t informative and they couldn’t answer any questions we had. No real system for rentals and all the signs for where things are located are wrong and misleading. One pro was the maintenance guy on the property. He was literally doing everything but it’s sad the rest of the staff didn’t exemplify the same response to service.

The location is wonderful. Unfortunately, the property was under construction while we were there however, the potential to be a beautiful resort is definitely there. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I am looking forward to seeing how the renovations look when the property is finished.

Where do we start. Let's just say that whatever pictures Expedia has of this place does not match what the inside of the rooms look like. From bed linens having hair everywhere to the moldy bathroom to the couch we had to put towels on due to cleanliness, this is a definite bait and switch. The furniture is missing most of the pull handles and has spill stains dripping down the sides. The TV's have the cords hanging down with the cable boxes dangling and one of the two HVAC units didn't work with both having mold on them. We checked in after hours which was after 6pm so just had a room key in an envelop with no one to speak to about the cleanliness issue until the next day. I was also not aware of the $30 per night "resort fee" until driving home when they called several time to collect it. When asked what do we get from the resort fee because a cleaning crew was obviously not it they waived it after being on hold for some time. I'm not sure if Wyndham has actually been to this property but it doesn't do that brand much justice for wanting to stay in another...

We selected this place to celebrate our anniversary We were excited. It is understood that properties are highly promoted to excite future guest, but this place was highly overrated!!
The photos are extremely misleading and deceptive. The property is in the process of being refurbished/renovated. It is older, and rundown; we almost passed it up because the address was not even posted.
The staff was limited, they spent much of the time we were in the so-called lobby, having personal conversations on the phone. We were looking forward to a romantic vacation with beach access; which was very limited. The amenities of bikes and kayaking, etc.; all were in poor condition and not at all as described. The continental breakfast was paltry, unsafe, and not well presented at all.
The advertised balcony from our room, overlooking the ocean is NOT private!! We could hear the other guests when they were in their rooms.
We enjoyed Snappers, with the live entertainment, and a few of the other area venues.

The staff were excellent and helpful. However, on arrival the area adjacent to our apartment was a building site with mechanical diggers/dust and terrible noise. We were NOT made aware of this prior to booking. We could not relax by the pool due to the noise and went elsewhere to use another pool.

I arrived at night, after 8pm, and the main entrance was not illuminated and under construction which made me very concerned initially. Once we found the lobby and check-in area and got to our room I was more at ease. The restaurant next door was nice with live music and the front of the resort facing the ocean was very nice.

But they have amazing staff, the area is just beautiful/ peaceful. You have great amenities, and a restaurant next door.
If they do the renovations well it is a great place tucked away.

I would have loved a heads up about the construction at the property. I’m glad there are able to do repairs but it was tricky parking & my hotel room was right in the middle of all of the construction. I was very scared I’d get a flat tire.
The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was not clean & the breakfast area was also quite dirty.
I enjoyed my time in the keys but would have appreciated some heads up about the construction at least so I could have prepared better.

It was a beautiful location conveniently off the highway. We were warmly greeted and given useful information. The room was nicely laid out and comfortable, however some upgrades were needed. It was evident that work is presently in progress. Breakfast was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay.

All the people who work there were Great, But the property needs to be shut down and completely remodeled, The place is falling apart and looks like it was built in the early 60's and never upgraded!! Plus the owners are so cheap that they have a Major Algae Issue covering all the water front area, And The Smell of it smells like Feces and you have to hold your breath when walking outside. WYNDHAM Hotels Should Be ashamed of themselves!!

I reserved an oceanview and that's exactly what it was- a view of the ocean when I opened the blinds. I didn't open the blinds often because people could see inside. The room needs an update, badly! There was a thick layer of dust on the telephone & furniture. The mirrors had a film on them that made yhem appear unclean. The handrail in the shower was somewhat rusted.

I could not stay at that Dump. I will be seeking a refund. The price kept going up and never stopped going up to $190 is when I walked away without staying there. The beach was literally garbage mixed with sludge and dirty sea foam.

One of the worst stays I have ever had at a RESORT
Let me start by first saying this motel is in a nice location being located on Key Largo and right next door to Snappers. The exterior of the resort is nice but does still need some TLC. The room was disgusting. You can tell no maintenance or care to these rooms have been given in ages. The only thing I could say nicely about the room was the bed was super comfortable. The refrigerator smelled like fish which overwhelmed to room, there were large red biting ants in the room, the AC wouldn't keep the room cooled and it was just filthy. When asking for towels at the front desk, I was basically reprimanded because everyone was asking for something and she was the only one there. She told me they would drop the towels off to the room but I never received them. I would NOT recommend this motel (not even a resort if we are honest).

Truly can’t believe Wyndham put their name on this property. Was between a couple hotels and booked bc I thought the quality being a Wyndham would be decent. Room was hot, AC unit air didn’t reach bed, terrible Wi-Fi, bedside light and both bedside outlets didn’t work, paint chips of unfinished walls. It was clean but just felt run down. Keys didn’t work one night, office closes at 7 so had to wait for them to send someone with a physical key to reset the electronic pad. Lady I spoke with wasn't even apologetic and annoyed to be dealing with it (mind you this was not a fault of ours losing a key, the lock got unprogrammed prob by housekeeping we had to call for)
Views are incredible, conveniently next to Snappers for dinner and drinks. Was glad we were gone all day for diving, it was basically just a place to pass out. Wish we would have just paid more for the Marriott.

Nice staff but property needs some TLC. My room AC was broken, they tried to accommodate us with trying to another room, but that room’s AC was broken as well. It truly is in prime location and Snappers is the highlight of the night. They need new AC systems and upgrade the bathrooms which are due for a uplift. Making some upgrades would actually make this retreat a great spot.

Hotel was smaller than appeared in pictures, but I ended up preferring the smaller scale. Overall had a wonderful stay. The hotel has a beautiful view and so may birds if you are into bird watching which was pleasing. I would go back again for my next stay in Key Largo.

I felt a bit nickel-and-dimed with written check-in/out for beach towels AND paying $30/day resort fee. Property could use a fresh coat of paint. Nice to have covered parking under the guest rooms, but tough to have privacy in-room: our ocean view room had a screened in porch area (nice), but the walkway for all rooms access is outside the porch. And the curtains for the patio doors are only full blackout curtains without sheers, so you can’t just close sheers to see the ocean and have both privacy and daylight inside the room. Ocean water near the pool was murky at low tide, but pool is kept in immaculate condition.

We liked the extra amenities such as the bikes, kayaks and grills. However, I gave them less than excellent because it took us two days for housekeeping to get in our room. The hot tub was also dirty and did not turn on. Also, while we liked the fact that breakfast was served, the first morning there we noticed mold on the grapes and were weary of the food for the rest of our stay.
Overall, the room was good size and cute especially the little patio area. We loved having Snappers right next door. We would most likely stay there again.

I don’t know how this place gets away with calling themselves a resort. Because they have board games available? They have some water sports stuff to check out too, but the dock is halfway underwater and there is so much foul smelling seaweed in the harbor that it was hard to even be outside. I mean I gagged at one point the stench was so bad, and they obviously make no effort to keep the seaweed out of the area. I would never think of getting into that mire. They charge you $25 if you lose the beach towels. There is no work out facility. There are no snacks or drinks in the room other than coffee. The AC in the bedroom couldn’t keep up. There was a leak in the ceiling. We woke up after it had rained and nearly broke our necks because there was water on the floor almost to the bathroom. And finally-I saw multiple kinds of bugs in the room and I’m fairly certain there were bedbugs in the couch. That’s where I slept and I have bites in places that I keep covered up when I go outside. This is not a resort…this is a dilapidated hotel, at best. Non-refundable too! Please pick somewhere else to go.

This is a great older hotel with amazing views of the ocean. Breakfast was very clean and reasonable. The pool is open air which invites local birds, small and large to drink and defecate there. Seaweed was an issue when we were there. Staff is great and the grounds are well maintained. The room we had was well maintained but has several holes in the wall and an outlet cover out of metal just hanging there.

I was very disappointed in the condition of the room. Air conditioning didn’t work well. Humid in the room. Needed fan on extra high, plus there was central air that never got below 80 degrees on the thermostat. Also the room had a portable very loud air conditioner with a hole cut in wall to vent and cardboard filling in the hole. Not very secure and horribly uncomfortable. Hotel was full and I didn’t have the energy to find another hotel since I was there for a short stay. The room and bathroom smelled moldy and musty like a fishing camp. Furniture was very old. Place had uneven color of paint on walls. Needs total renovation. I will not return nor recommend. The star rating was 3. Should be lower than 2.

Paid a lot disappointed a lot
What spoil the stay at hotel for us was the room was so so clean but the floor move the carpet was very old. The refrigerator was in a closet on the floor. We had asked for a microwave. they said that breakfast would be available at 7 AM and the checkout at 7 AM they were not ready for neither.
It’s mainly the condition of our room would not recommend this place to anybody

Wish we could have stayed longer
We only stayed one night but our room was so comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub too. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great place to stay with a good sized room and view from the balcony. The pool was great and free rental of Kayaks and bikes were a great extra. Close to a great bar / restaurant, Snappers. Overall a great location and stay for the price

You have to drive everywhere, so it was really nice to have Snappers right next door.
