Love the setting next to the river, and walking distance to many restaurants… room was clean and comfortable too. Elevators temporarily down for maintenance, but the stairs were a better option anyway considering we spent all day driving.

It was very noisy. I had an early appt the next morning and there were people running around overhead. The bed was extremely squeaky every time I moved. There were no extra blankets available. The bathroom was very small with no counter space to use while getting ready

The rooms seemed yo be recently renovated, everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the same each day, but everything was delicious, so we didnt mind that at all.

I like that the property is close to the Smokey mountains so I can hike during the day; as well as a walking distance to restaurants,etc. The hotel itself has a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere which I liked, I very easily fell asleep to the sounds of the river, beautiful.

It was newly renovated. Everything was nice and clean. And I loved that it had a fireplace because when I was just there it was cold and snowing and the fireplaces added detail to the room as well as an extra means of heat. I also loved the fact it had an balcony

I actually booked the wrong hotel so was very disappointed initially. I was given the opportunity to change but glad I didn't. The Breakfast was Excellent and to get out of the Parking lot to go to Pigeon Forge was the perfect place.
It was 1/2 mile walk to town but wasnt bad at all. The Trolley stop was right in front but i never seen anyone use it.

The hotel is in a poor condition and the price is too high. The sheets on the bed were stained. The elevator is broken so we had to use the ramp to carry our loggage to the room and there wasn't any staff to assist us just a lady in the front desk that didn't mention nothing about it when we check in. The breakfast was really ppor, they didn't refill the cereal oraple syrup when it's done or adcise when the breakfast was about to end. We are really dissapointed, this is not even a decent motel. The hallway were dirty and the balcony broken.

We’ve stayed here several times and just love it! The staff is amazing! Always pleasant and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and so convenient to downtown. The free buffet breakfast is wonderful!

The elevator didnt work. The lady at front desk said its been broke since august. She also said we should have go a email telling us the elevator was broke when we booked the room. Did not get any email... the coke machine is empty on the 4th floor. We will never stay here again. Wish i could get a refund

Call Grater was down, so do you get up to the third-floor? We always had to use the stairs or the ramp which made it inconvenient for ones that are not able to walk very well.

The place needs some love. To say it was a pit would be a compliment. Also, the front desk lied to us about the availability of a room. We showed up at 2 PM. The front desk said there were no rooms. Then 15 minutes after we left the front desk we got a text telling us we could early check in for a fee. . If we could get a room for a fee then the desk should have told us that when we were standing there. My wife and I have traveled around the world and can evaluate a place in about 5 minutes if we take our time. Too bad the location was the only plus as it was on the river. We stayed at the Grey Stone Lodge went there to the front desk and got a room for 1 night. I think your website says they only take 2-day reservations. The Grey Stone is a great place to stay and repeat visitors get a 15 percent discount.

Spent two days at this location and after checking out management charged extra $700 to my credit card. Management stated that a window in the room was damaged. Charge was placed on my card hours after checking out. Horrible experience will never stay at this location ever again and would advise others to do the same and stay away from this crooked place.

Overall our stay at Gatlinburg River Inn was good. The room was very clean and smelled slightly of bleach so I felt comfortable knowing it had been sanitized. It looked like it had recently been renovated. The bathroom was extremely bright so we removed the lightbulbs during our stay. The fan also has a light.
Breakfast was basic but good. Choices are: scrambled eggs and sausage, biscuits with gravy, cold cereal, waffles, toast, fruit (apples or bananas) and yogurt. Coffee and tea and juice. We had daily maid service which was nice.
The location of this Inn is fantastic! Just outside the busy part of Gatlinburg so it wasn’t as noisy. Very walkable and there is a trolley stop in front of the property.
There was some construction happening across from the Inn on the other side of the river and there was some construction noise but that’s not the fault of the Inn.
The room had a faux fireplace which was nice for ambiance. It also can put off some heat if you choose that option.
I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Gatlinburg.

Overall, the hotel was very worn and dated. The flooring in the room was warped with what appeared to be water damage and peeling. Tub was very worn needed to be resealed, overall needs a lot of updating and renovations.
Couldn’t use the hot tub because it was down. They did give me a 10% discount for the inconvenience, but had I known prior I would’ve thought second before booking.
I probably wouldn’t go back..

Wedding Anniversary Trip
My wife and I stayed at the Gatlinburg River Inn for 6 days (5 nights.) Through a reservation group. We were told thru the reservation group that my wifes support animal would of been accommodated without issue, we had to pay a pee fee of $150, which are in the process of getting a refund for.. no extra cleaning or damages caused; during our stay.
Due to unfortunate and unforseen circumstances the Hot tub was closed, & elevator due to "Maintenance" and the pool closed for the season.
The only pleasing experience was the breakfast was hot and had a variety and the showers were nice and hot.
Just for warning double check your reservations to make sure everything is accommodated correctly..

The advertisement of this place is not exactly as it is. I feel they overpriced this place like a 4star place when it is not. The towels were dirty and just hung up. The toilet ran after every flush and you had to remove the lid and giggle chain to seal the flap for it to stop running. This was annoying with 4 people staying in the room. The entrance and exit was a little tricky with the traffic coming around a curve and no stop light. It was close to town and you could walk but construction is going on as well. Overall I would not recommend this place for the money or the issues.

From the moment we checked in, with the fabulous Nikki, we felt the hospitality of the Inn. The room was convenient and we were able to park right in front of it. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is a bit on the small side but the towels were thick and fluffy! Having a balcony overlooking the river was a bonus! They serve a substantial breakfast including biscuits and gravy!

The neighbor beside us kept smoking and being loud. Let the service desk know and it’s like nothing got done about it. Sheets and comforter were dirty and stained. Ceiling had holes in it.

Great location with positives and negatives. Various shops, restaurants, and entertainment options are all within walking distance but this hotel is very noisy due to the construction at the property on the other side of the river. In addition, the property is very close to the main road. Since we visited during peak season, traffic was very noisy and busy, which made exiting the inn very dangerous.
The room was very clean and the staff were top rated because they very pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable about the area and offered great suggestions to reduce travel time. The pictures misrepresent the overall property and should be updated. The free breakfast is a bonus and offers enough variety to accommodate everyone.

My daughter and her fiancé came to Tennessee to attend a football game at UT. They first checked into a hotel in Knoxville. When they arrived they witnessed drug abuse in the parking lot along with an overall shady feel. My daughter was very concerned for her safety. Her fiancé said he even felt unsafe and was not confident he could protect her. After they called, I immediately booked the Gatlinburg Inn. After staying here several times on family vacations before, I knew my daughter would be safe. After two long days traveling they were greeted with a smile from Nicki. She couldn’t have been more wonderful at check in. They got settled and fell right asleep. They said this was one of the nicest places they’ve ever stayed. The hotel was clean and comfortable. They had a fireplace and a great view of the river. Gatlinburg was an absolute blast! Everything was in walking distance. The pumpkin statues were so much fun. They ate at a couple great restaurants and enjoyed the aquarium. Breakfast at the inn was great. The bear waffles will make anyone smile. They were in close proximity to Knoxville and had an easy commute to the game. For now on whenever we visit Gatlinburg this is the only hotel we will stay at. Thank you so much for providing such hospitality to my daughter and her fiancé. You managed to turn what could have been a dangerous weekend into one of the best weekends of their lives. Thank you!!!!

Elevator was not working and I recently had knee surgery so this was not good being our room was on the 3rd floor! No safety bar in the shower - it was removed. Not as advertised for sure.
I did enjoy the balcony area over the river.
I would not stay there again. The morning staff person at the desk was not helpful or friendly at all.

Overall, the property was fine for what I needed. It is very convenient to everything downtown and the staff was friendly. I had a room with the fireplace on the riverside so it was relaxin to just sit and unwind. The only complaint is that when I was getting ready to check out that morning, there was a bug on the bed and another on the floor. I am sure this is to expected given it is an older building and on the river, but still was a downer thinking the bug could have been crawling on me while I slept.

Pictures do not show the real condition the property is in. Very old with ripped furniture. Couldn’t sleep most of the night because of strange sounds (maybe some kind of machine or something), rude/loud guests, and uncomfortable pillow/mattress. The Property is right by the road too so you hear all the traffic as well.

Convenient to get around Gatlinburg downtown. Good location by river, Trolly stop and mountain coaster. Easy parking. Staff are friendly, Breakfast is normal. Only one thing to point out is bath tub where liquid soap are dripping and very slippery. I don't mind old dirty leather chair at the corner. Unfortunately elevator is out of service during our stay. Overall is pretty decent to stay.

The breakfast area was a little small. Most of the people were bringing their food back to their rooms as there weren't enough tables. Housekeeping only cleaned the room one time on a 3-night stay. Beds were comfortable.

Pretty outdated units. Condition of paint. Upkeep was lacking. Elevator was out of order for 2 months from what the sign said. River view and sound could have been awesome if it weren’t for 9 million cars on the street until 11pm
