After we stayed our first night, we were gone for the day and came back to the hotel in the late afternoon. We were surprised to find that our rooms had not been serviced. I was going to call the front desk to inquire, but the phone wasn't working, so I went down to the desk. I was told that phone service was being changed, so it wasn't currently working. I was also told that if we wanted clean towels we would have to bring our used ones down to the desk, and then they would replace our towels for us. I asked about trash, because our waste basket needed to be emptied, and I was told that I could bring that to the desk, too, if I wanted. I was really taken aback by this, as I've never stayed in a hotel that required their guests to bring used towels and trash to the front desk in order to get them taken care of. The hotel room was less than satisfactorily clean when we arrived - something was smudged on the bathroom wall, and there were little hairs on the bathroom floor, in the tub, and in the bathroom floor mat. That was honestly pretty disgusting. Most of the staff were friendly and polite, and I appreciated that, but I definitely would not stay here again.

My day was pleasant thought the elevator was a little slow, so going up and down to the fourth floor was a process, but all in all the staff was friendly helpful and I would stay again

Not the best not the worse
My stay was okay. Not quite the best. The hotel is pretty boring, nothing to do, they have locks on everything like they are housing prisoners or something, the pool is FREEZING Cold, u can’t even bring POSH into the hotel, I was accused of smoking inside the room which I WASNT but because I smelt like anything I was charged an extra $100

Great hotel for my two night stay. Staff was very friendly, room was renovated and very clean with a comfy bed, breakfast was very good, the pool/hot tub were awesome, and very close to lots of restaurant choices. If I come back to Great Lakes I'll know where to stay!

Some of the staff were very unfriendly and they don’t tell you that they take a $100 deposit. My rooom smelled like smoke. Very dirty . Definitely would never stay here again.

My kids went to swim and the pool was completely filled with bleach..we couldnt stay in there long due to us not being able to breathe in the pool area. My youngest son threw up because he tried to swim but the water got in his mouth.

There was so much pot smoking on the floor that the cops were called to the facility. My five and six year olds did not need to smell it in the room. To each his own but a little discretion in the presence of kids would be good.

Everything was great except the pool area. There was way too much chlorine. Other guests had children coughing really bad over it and our eyes were burning. We couldnt really enjoy both pool and jacuzzi.

My room was very clean and the staff responded to my requests ( I had a dog.). I liked staying there. Staff were kind and responsive. I think my bathroom was new. I’d definitely stay again.

I booked a 3 night stay for myself and a 1 night stay for another employee. Room 407 was me and room 200 something was the employees. I was gone for work to come back to my room being cleaned and my stuff downstairs at the front desk. I stay at this hotel the same 3 days or 4 days sometimes every week and have for months. I will not return. When I booked my 2nd room the must have thought we both checked out on the same day. I don't know. All I do know is you had my phone number. The people up front know me. They could have called me. I have 12 stores in the area. I will be taking my business and my companies business elsewhere.

Hotel is in process for remodel but does not effect the functionality of hotel. Front desk staff super helpful and friendly on all shifts! Checkin was easy. Rooms were clean and bed was super comfortable. No concerns! Hotel is close to shopping, food, and gas.

Door didnt work night one, sink leaked ans soaked my purse and slipped in puddle 3 times and never got fixed, had 3 towels in room when we got there, plug in tub didnt work had to stuff a rag to give kids a bath. And i rented 2 rooms for 2 days costing me $510 and they gave me a $29 discount when all i asked for was 1 night for one room. Expedia could not even make this right and people were rude. I will never stay there again ever. Also the stair wells smelled like ass and it looked like the carpet never gets vacuumed. And i would stick with bookings.com because this woukd never fly with them.

U stayed there for my son 3rd birthday and it was horrible TV didn’t work phone didn’t work mold around the shower, I had to ask for a clean bed set. Ask for a deposit that wasn’t informed before booking the hotel

Staff were wonderful. Our room had been recently renovated & was very nice, Bed was supper comfortable. We were close to several restaurants, Gurnee Mills Mall & a wonderful coffee shop (Something’s Brewing). Nice indoor pool & hot tub.

The staff was friendly and helpful; However RM 323 appeared to have bed bugs and my daughter was getting bitten every night. They did accommodate us and move us to another room. RM 204 Food from prior guests was left in the refrigerator. Lastly The breakfast was horrible,
No Hot Foods because they do not have a kitchen or anything to offer hot food.

We came for my son's Bootcamp graduation. Checking in was sooo fast and simple. The hotel was very clean. The room was just as pictured and newly updated. All the staff were very helpful and nice! Definitely would recommend this hotel and stay here again!!

All other La Quintas I’ve stayed at in the past have been nice/decent, not this one. Our room was not clean, hairs and marks on the bedding (stinky too), dirty floor with someone’s contacts stuck to my foot, bugs crawling in the floor, old coffee still in the coffee maker with the coffee and sugar packets stuffed inside of it by housekeeping, toilet didn’t flush and they never fixed it after repeated calls to front desk. The only reason I gave two stars for staff and service is because the second night I called and complained about the toilet a different person was working the front desk and he put us in a different room and was accommodating. I will never stay here again!

As a lifelong contractor I’m confused about the conditions I saw. It seems that a remodel of the facility was started but came to an abrupt halt at some point. There are parts of the facility that are newish but seem worn or unmaintained. I had a large room that had clean linens and towels. The surfaces were generally clean. The bathroom vanity seemed relatively new but was supported by a couple of wood blocks almost like the installer was going to finish after lunch but never came back. All in all I’m satisfied with my stay.

we found it to be clean, modern and the bed was great. what we did not like was the room was too warm for good sleeping for us. we like our room pretty cool, 65 degrees or less. it was convenient as we were going to a concert in Chicago and it did not take a long time to get downtown and coming back was only 40 minutes. would stay there again if we go that way again.

It’s Comfortable bed lots of restaurants
When we walked into the room, it smelled as though someone had a dog in there very bad smell then when we needed ice you had to go down to the second floor when we were on the fourth floor and we noticed when we were on the elevator going up to our room on the fourth floor the elevator say fifth floor just felt that ice should be on every floor so you don’t have to travel all the way downstairs and felt like the room could of smelled way fresher we had to go down and get something to freshen the room from the manager in the housekeeping line

Chose this location because it was close to the Navy base for my son graduation for bootcamp. There are so many food options and the mall. Nice area! The Bed was so COMFORTABLE!

Our stay was okay. However, my bed was dirty. The box spring and bed skirt were covered in large brown stains. Everything else was okay. The comforter on top looked unwashed or just stained. There were red spots on the underneath. The carpet was not vacuumed as well as it should have been. There were chip or cheeto crumbs near my bed. The staff were okay but not the friendliest. The three I saw never once smiled.

The front desk staff was amazing. I was there 3 nights room never was cleaned. When housekeeper knocked on the door we told her we were leaving out (Saturday) so u can clean the room and she said oh no I’m just giving u clean towels. Room had big spot between the bed as if the guess before us wasted coffee. Hair was in the tub.

Stayed here over a weekend to take advantage of proximity to Great America.
In the midst of a remodel, some dust but no problems with noise or traffic. Cordial staff. Renovated room was very nice. Pool was dated but well maintained and clean. Breakfast was no frills but a great value.
Would stay here again, and recommend especially post-renovation.

The hotel was “okay” definitely does not look like the photos posted. It was a shock walking into lobby, unsure if we were at the right place. Had to call down to the front desk, due to the water being turned off to the room. The AC did not cool the room, it was on 72, but said 78. Doubt we will select the hotel for a future stay.

Christian, also known as Chris, was rather rude after my card was declined. He was dismissive. His coworker had to show him how to properly charge a credit card. He did not apologize. When I asked about the military discount being applied, he said that would be applied at check-out.
When I checked out the following morning, the desk receptionist was unable to refund the discount and said she would have the manager apply the discount.
However, there wasn't any discount applied.
When I was checked in, I wasn't told any general information such as where my room was, the easiest route there, where the elevator was, or general pleasantries.
I am disappointed that the hotel staff didn’t reach out or apply the discount I was guaranteed.

Room was very clean .they are doing renovations but our room was already finished and very nice looked good smelled good.the pool was nice and clean . All front desk staff was nice and polite . We stayed 2 nights and had no issues what so ever .

Front desk staff barely available-
Swimming pool area towels empty and when asked front desk person said to wait because he was the only one there and he was trying to get the towels washed.
Swimming pool area so humid and to much chloric smell that cause my eye to go itching.
Breakfast: no scrambled eggs .
Went to get something for my son like 10 minutes before they close breakfast, the lady wa so mad and she unplugged all the waffle maker off so we wouldn’t make more and we we’re told to get out because we had been there for breakfast earlier
We paid a lot for two nights and it was three families all together and that’s how we got treated. I should have asked for a refund because it our stay was so uncomfortable. Never stay at this hotel ever
