On check in the lady was super nice. We had a great room on the first floor near a door. This helped since we had a dog with us. The breakfast was good especially because they had vitamin D milk. A rarity at hotels these days. The area had everything. Starting with places to walk a dog to shops and restaurants. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

A gem location!
The property was clean and in great condition. The lobby was comfortable and inviting. The breakfast buffet every morning was plentiful and great selection. The location was also nestled in an amazing part of Mt Pleasant --it was in a village area with shops, eateries, Target and Harris Teeter all in walking distance.

Everyone was nice. The “hotel” suites were average. You pay a little extra to get the experience of a true getaway, not to be told they clean every other day and show up at 4:00 PM on the third day of a 3 night stay and ask if your room need’s cleaning. Very disappointing. Breakfast subpar, but waffles were great.

My pay at property amount was different from what property charged me. On the second night of my stay, since we really hadn’t been in the room, I noticed the toilet leak, the fridge had a leak. The reason I reserved a room at this location was because it had the fridge and a microwave, that second night I went to warm up some leftover food, microwave started popping, even tried to work it while empty, still popped and crackled. It was so inconvenient to have to go downstairs to heat my food, hotel offered to move me, but they only had a king bed, I needed the 2 queen beds. There was some cosmetic things wrong in the room, broken tv remote, broken door stop that kept falling. Attention to detail would be good or things just fall apart. There was no extractor in restroom, don’t know if that was supposed to be working or not. I was there for graduation so I wasn’t trying to bothered with inconvenience or inconveniencing anyone, my apologies and thank you.

The room they gave us room 100 was on the 1st floor right by the exist. Every 2 minutes the door was opened and closed. It was a meeting area for everyone. The room was dark and dim due to the bulbs they used in the lights. The couch sank in the back leaving a gap of about 6 inches and it was dirty. On Christmas day they closed the food down at 9 am.

Homewood Suites offers spacious rooms at a good price point. The full kitchen and separate bedroom are really nice especially if someone wants to cook a meal or if one person is trying to sleep while the other is still up. The front desk staff is very nice. I spoke to Cathy at check in and J'Ayanna in the Hilton Honors app. They were both extremely helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was pretty good although I wish they offered bacon. The only complaints that I have is the wall needs some patch work (there was chipping of the drywall in the living room between the window and TV dresser) and they could dust a little bit better. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. I’ve been to way worse hotels in terms of cleanliness so this hotel definitely meets expectations, but could exceed with a little more attention to detail. Overall, if you are in the Charleston/Mt Pleasant area I would highly recommend staying here.

Great staff but the furniture in the room is worn out and actually have patches.The toilet seat is very loose and runs constantly unless I workedmtomstop it. Not all of the electrical outlets work.
The breakfast why very good but for get asking a question because the one kitchen staff member I asked a question didn't speak a word of english. FAIL! I mentioned thebfurniture and was toldmall new was on order. Hope so

Such a great place! The front desk staff like Cathy are terrific! Housekeeping was excellent and took care of our request graciously. The breakfast is very nice- eggs, meats, waffles, breads, cereals, yogurts, fruits, juices and coffees. The lobby was beautifully decorated, lovely courtyard, nice room, comfy bed.

This was the perfect stay, perfect location for our needs! The kitchennete is small, but stocked with all you need for quick meals. Reception, breakfast and housekeping staff were wonderful. Breakfast was GREAT too!

Overall, I would go back to this location. The location is convenient for walking to local restaurants and shopping; It was also convenient to the national historic sites we were visiting which were 10-20 minutes away.
Pros: Safe & convenient location, generally clean, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Cons: The room had some poor material conditions (The mirror in my room was broken in the corner when I arrived). The kitchenette and living room areas had a strong food odor when we arrived that persisted throughout our stay. I would recommend that the hotel provide odor neutralizers in this area as a practice for every room. We needed fresh sheets during our stay and were provided the wrong size (we needed King size) several times.

The two room suite was ideal for allowing one member of the party to hit the sack early and the other to continue to read or watch TV without a disturbance. There were a couple of small maintenance issues which have been reported and will undoubtedly be corrected.

We were here for a surgical procedure so we chose a hotel close to our surgery center. It was great to have dining and coffee options and breakfast was great. Our ice maker was very loud but only came on in the middle of the night not ideal but also only lasted about 5 minutes. Our room had a dirty sink but everything else was spotless.

Homewood suite used to be a premier hotel above average for the Hilton brand, but unfortunately not anymore.
(1.) Furniture fabrics are stained and dirty.
3.) The lamps are dark and the lights are old and dirty.
2.) The quality of the breakfast is now the worst.
These are the reasons why this hotel has fallen in rank.

Rooms were a great size, we had two medium sized dogs and there was still plenty of room. Nice area around the property to walk the dogs. Restaurants a block away. Target within walking distance, but area had a lot of trees and was quiet.

We were glad to be able to stay at a hotel outside the busyness of the city. The area surrounding the hotel was wooded and nicely landscaped. A quick walk to amenities, like a cafe, Target, small business shopping, restaurants. The actual room was fine, but in need of updating, especially the bathroom.

Good Stay but tired
This was the last stay on our road trip. On arrival Checkin was smooth and the person on reception (Chris) was excellent.
The building was tired but clean and the grounds were well maintained - parking was good with plenty of spaces - our suite was spacious, quite and comfortable.
After eating out we were going to bed and noticed the pillowcases were stained so took them off and found the pillows were also badly stained - used the spare in the wardrobe and reported it in the morning - the lady on reception was quite rude but the pillows were replaced.
The location was excellent for our requirements, and it was easy to get around. There were some good restaurants in walking distance and a 5 min drive to Mt Pleasant centre where Burtons Grill was excellent.
After being there for 3 nights phoned down. To reception and spoke to the same lady to ask for the room to be serviced as the bins were full and the complementary items needed to be replaced only to be told rudely I needed to ring before 10am! Nowhere did it say this and it was only 10:15. The room was only booked for 1 service throughout our 8 night stay so had to ask for coffee pods most days and when we wanted the complementary items replenished.
Breakfast was adequate.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and apart from the one rude lady on reception the staff were friendly. The hotel could do with a refresh but we would be happy to stay there again.

Great hotel - not our best stay
Let me start with I LOVE this hotel. It's in a great location, it has great space for a family, we enjoy the pool and the breakfast is fantastic. With that being said, this stay was a little disappointing. Our room had an awful smell to it. We walked to Target and bought Febreze, but it didn't do much to help. It smelt like maybe a small water leak or mildewy of some sort. On top of that, we were with our children and there was 2 rooms on our floor (one directly across from us) who were smoking pot in their room and it made the entire floor smell strongly. I wish that would have been addressed as it's not for a family environment.

Room had dirty dishes in cabinets, leftover food from previous guests and trash and belongings on floor from previous guests. Room had clearly never been cleaned other then bed was made. Spent first day of vacation cleaning the room ourselves. No offer of asistance from staff just gave us a free sample of dish washing liquid so we could wash the dirty dishes left in the room. The pool was not kept clean and was closed on the hottest day while the outdoor grill was broken and could not be used. Mirror in bathroom was broken and staff had taped together with duct tape.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. Close enough to walk to many of the local shops and eateries as well as a short 5 minute drive to the beach at Isle of Palms. The pool is beautiful and the breakfast is good. Rooms are nice and our suite was perfect for our needs

The hotel property is located in a convenient area, minutes from the beach. Our room was clean except for stains on the sofa, and the general area of the hotel was also clean. The hotel staff however seem very unhappy, exasperated, and unfriendly except for housekeeping. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful despite language barriers or workload…. The front desk, breakfast crew, and other hotel staff-forget about it. They do not like their jobs and it is very apparent with their attitude towards the guests

Excellent property & staff. But a few issues w/the room. There definitely needs to be better, brighter lighting in the kitchen area!!! The room in general needs better/brighter lighting. The sofa & ottoman were both very old & worn. Sofa was saggy in the middle. But the room & common areas smelled very clean & fresh!!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Common ares & outside of hotel were beautifully decorated, clean & well maintained. Thank you for a great stay!

Our first room was dirty. There were cobwebs above the bed, dirty sheets, and toe nail clippings on the bathroom floor. We were move to another room which the sheets also had stains on them. Called front desk on our last night for extra washcloths which never were brought up. Breakfast was less than desirable and cold when it should have been warm one of the mornings.

Had to switch rooms after waking up in morning to roaches running on the kitchen counters. On the way to moving to new room saw a roach in the hallway about four rooms away. Manager didn't seem to care and pretty much dismissed our concerns. She said nothing to us on our checkout and when I filled out the survey from them all I got was a half hearted apology and hope to see you again. Don't think so.

So close to the beach and you don't have to drive anywhere to eat if you don't feel like dealing. Good dining options near. The breakfast was decent, but I would suggest scrambling real fresh eggs instead of the strange plastic like eggs that were on the menu. Not edible - sorry. Otherwise a good value for the money in general.

We stayed a total of two nights. Both nights there was no hot water available when showering. The second night we reported the problem to management but was told they had received no other complaints and that the persons who could check on it were gone for the day. We also found mold under the toilet rim that had been there for some time. We googled the reviews and found that the hot water issue had been reported consecutively for the past several years. Although convenient and affordable, these issues were a deal breaker. Will not return to this property in the future. Cold showers are brutal.

The room did not have hot water. Called down to tell the front desk and I was told they couldn't do anything until the next day. So my daughter had to take a show in our $400 suite. 🙁

Like the area, vacation feeling every day!
Nice staff, well maintained pool! Rooms are clean and comfortable!
The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast variety. They seem to present some hot food from a day prior. It’s not always fresh.
I didn’t like the plastic silverware and paper plates.
Seems like they had trouble with the dishwasher but it wasn’t the first time that it happened. We come often to this hotel and it happened again!

Check in was horrible. Said they didn’t have any rooms, even though I had reservations. They told me they overbooked the hotel. After 30 minutes of waiting she told me she had one room left. I asked for my room to be cleaned and they never showed up for cleaning. Very disappointed in this Hilton. I’ve stayed there before with excellent service.

We had a wonderful stay, service from the front desk was perfect, breakfast was delicious and Marianne made it very enjoyable. the staff worked hard and made sure everyone was happy. Room was clean and comfortable. Sofa was not the best, and i think the first floor should have curtains that completely close. everything else fantastic.

The first night we had no internet but the desk clerk worked diligently with us to fix the problem. The problem was with the provider, not the hotel. The clerk, J-Avanna (sic) was outstanding in her efforts and went way beyond the norm to help us. Please commend her for her excellent and professional service. The next day our toilet was broke and wouldn't flush. On the second night we noted that we didn't have AC and apparently didn't have AC throughout our stay. Being gone during the day we didn't notice however, since the unit was not fixed we had to sleep with the windows open to overcome the 82' temp in the room. We were impressed with the desk clerk but unimpressed with the rest of the stay.

I did not catch the front desk girls name but she was VERY kind and helpful during check-in. The handicap room is very nice. Having a kitchen with a big refrigerator is handy also. We will be staying here again if we need to return.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained.
Staff is friendly and go above and beyond what is expected.
The room was very clean and well stocked.
Bed was comfortable and there were extra sheets and blankets provided.
Furniture is a bit banged up and worn.
