Terrible experience
No hot water for a shower multiple mornings. Hotel staff unresponsive. Rarely even at the front desk. Manager absent and unresponsive, even after multiple requests. Corporate office claimed the hotel manager had to resolve the issue. I had never stayed at a Best Western before and will not again. Problems happen, and they should be handled properly. Exceptionally poor customer service even with calm and patient requests. I will be back to the area and will stay somewhere else even though I will drive a little further.

There wasn’t much around the hotel itself, but the hotel was SO nice! Spacious, clean, and comfy beds, with breakfast included. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

The property was clean as it always is and the staff were friendly. But on this visit and the last visit I noticed the room had mold on the bathroom ceiling and the room had a mildew smell to it. It had me coughing at night.

I made a reservation for this property because of its convenient location to a family gathering. It was easy to find. Dining options were close by. The hotel is very clean. The rooms, lobby, breakfast area were very clean and attractive. The breakfast was outstanding! A lot of choices including hot items. Fresh juices, excellent coffee. The staff kept items hot, fresh and stocked! When we arrived, about 7:30 PM, no one was at the front desk, but our room keys and check in slip were on the front desk, with a note stating to sign in. I was glad, at first, because we were tired, and wanted to go to our room, however upon further thought, anyone could have taken our keys and helped themselves! Most times, day and night, passing the front desk, no one was there, which was odd and felt unsafe. The room was very clean and attractive. We had 2 queen beds and one was soft and one was firm. There were many, many feather pillows available, too. The sheets were soft, clean and the comforters were exceptionally comfortable. The room thermostat worked very well. We like a cold room and the air conditioner worked perfectly and consistently. The TV was large and easy to operate. The bathroom was lovely, clean and the shower was extraordinary. Large clean, glass doors, hot water and perfect water pressure. The furniture in the room had several dings and worn places, however the floors were very clean and lighting was great. In room fridge worked well, no microwave.

I had room 309. Night stand plugs were smash in. The tv controller was inoperable. A/c was out for a couple hours recirculating my the same air. The door didn’t kick when leaving unless you lifted on the door to help it engage the lock. The property was renovated recently but abused. Probably no maintenance. No room service except to empty garbage (not a big surprise but if you’re in there for a while…). At least in room 309 it was the worst. Then I had a stay booked with Travelocity until Monday. Inexplicably they checked me out Sunday with my stuff in the room and I was locked out. Staff fixed the problem but gave me small discount for the day I already booked for Monday. Staff was receptive and polite

Woke up to a soaked floor and some reason the hotel refunded my money but Expedia is telling me they couldn’t reach the hotel to confirm but hotel said they did speak with someone and the time which is the same time Expedia said they couldn’t get ahold of anyone!

Unfortunately, my stay was not comfortable and very disappointing. The curtains on my window did not pull back all the way, exposing my room at night. The A.C unit leaked the whole time, making the floor wet. And on top of that, the hot tub in my room leaked profusely! I had to request more towels because not only was my floor already wet from the A.C unit, but now there were about 2 inches of water filling up my whole room. What a mess. The shower doors also did not stay closed. They would slide open each time I would try to close them. It was like the room was tilted?
All in all, horrible experience and I will not stay with this hotel franchise ever again.

Inconvenient stay
Throughout my 2 nights stay, i never received a room key. I was told, while checking in, that they were working to resolve the situation, but it never was. The evening receptionist was truly helpful, yet overworked having to let people into their rooms. And to receive no compensation, or even a complimentary anything for the inconvenience, was disappointing!

Property in need of updating. Entire facility smells moldy and old, no water pressure, very thin walls, could gear conversation’s and drinking going on until well passed midnight. Fire alarm chirping all night in the hallway. It’s the closest hotel to Bone Valley if you’re looking for convenience. Bring earplugs.

The workout equipment was broken. There were no towels or cleaning supplies. The pool area had empty and full beer cans everywhere. At least 20 cans. It was a mess.

Wonderful staff
The hotel staff are amazing. The only issues were the pool being closed, which is one of the main reason we booked the rooms here. The plug in are weird. Our phone charges don’t want to stay plugged in. The charger is very loose in the plug. My laptop fits just fine.

Over priced for area Florida keys rooms in same price. Room appeared clean but couldn’t use amenities. Ask for pool towels got one towel and bath mat. Pool phone dirty didnt work pool chairs dirty and broken. Very disappointed with amenities for paying $200 in field surrounded by campers and trailers. Would left but no refund. Even ask desk clerk since amenities didn’t work maybe should get a discount. He said to talk to boss in morning.

The man who worked at the desk and checked us in was very nice but the room was below par. It looked like there had been some upgrades but the door in the bathroom was different colors like the paint was peeling off. The door toco e in our room was very hard to open. I was expecting at least a 3 star room for the price but it was more of a 2 star. Also we were one of the first to check in to a room and we were given the top floor at the very end! It was not crowded at all so why stick us the furtherest away! Won’t be staying there again!

Great stay in Wauchula
Enjoyed our stay. Employee service was great. Breakfast was good. No major complaints.
Only complaint was regarding other guests. We were at this hotel 4 nights. At all hours of the night other guests were coming a going. And slamming their doors. Making lots of noise in the hallway while we were trying to sleep

Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Older hotel that could use renovation. I like the fact that they did not use scented products in the rooms and common areas. Glad to see LVT instead of carpet in the rooms.

Poorly Managed
This hotel appears to be 20 to 25 years old and has had a remodel in recent years that didn't include much attention to detail in many cases. This would include the use of old outdated door handles, half painted walls, paint overspray on items, and broken or damaged towel bars. Outside of some of these detail items; the room was comfortable, and the shower, flooring, bathroom counter, bed and TV were nice.
I think the biggest thing this hotel was missing would be service, or the urgency to supply good service in some cases. We found that the guest washer and dryer weren't working and apparently "have been on order for 4 weeks" with no idea of when they would expect them. There was an ice machine on the main floor that wasn't working, no ice machine on the second floor, and one on the third floor at the end of the hallway. Unfortunately for us our room was just outside the only working ice machine. With that there was a steady stream of people using the machine every morning starting around 6 am. This made for a early wakeup call on most days.
Our room didn't have a hair dryer on the bracket in the bathroom because "they didn't have enough hair dryers for each room" because some of them weren't working and they "weren't sure when they'd be able to get them all replaced".
The breakfast area was very nice, but again there were two machines "out of order" (pancake making machine and yogurt machine).
This hotel has plenty of potential, but not being managed well.

The photos looked very warm and inviting. When I called the hotel directly to verify something it took 4 times until someone answered. When my husband and I got there the check in was alright; we entered our room set our stuff down started to unpack and when we went into the bathroom there were ants on the counter top and ants around the tv and coffee maker. When we told the front desk in the morning they said okay room service will be here at 9am. We went out and explored and when we returned a few hours later our room had not been touched by any room service employees. Very disappointed.

Except for Helen, the service was not good. The lock to my room, the hair dryer and the bathroom sink light never worked and when I requested assitance/maintenance all i got was a shrug.

Nice, clean & comfortable stay
We got to the hotel about 20 minutes early & the lady at the desk acted like it was an issue. I thought she was going to make us wait the 20 minutes to check in but she switched us to a different room than the one on the reservation so we could get settled. The hotel & room were very clean. It looked like they might be doing some updating which was good. We did have a light over the shower that was hanging down & the toilet wobbled along with some wallpaper that was peeling from the seams but not anything to make a complaint about. They did have a nice breakfast with a good variety of options including pancakes, waffles, eggs, cereal, muffins, biscuits & gravy, etc. Overall it was a very nice place to stay. I recommend it

and my compensation is...
I arrived, checked in and was given a 3rd floor room. I loaded a cart with all of my belongings then I was told the elevator doesn't work. I asked for another room and they gave me one on the 1st floor. Lamp didn't work, radio clock didn't work, towel rack fell in three pieces, clips on the walls where pictures use to hang. (But,at least the fridge was cold)

Overall, the property could be quite nice but it is poorly managed. Our room was scheduled for a new bathroom countertop and faucets the second day we were there. We were never told until it was happening. They moved us to another room and then asked us to move again so they could repair that room. The pool looked dirty and we asked why it was not open. They said they are waiting for a part but it should be open that day. There was never any sign there saying closed and it never opened.
Room service was spotty. One day the bed was not made but towels were added and garbage cleaned. Other days no garbage removed, no new glasses provided, coffee rarely added.
Rarely was there ever anyone at the front desk. The phone would be ringing, lineup for people to check in or out and just no one there.
Breakfast was provided each day except for one. The regular person did not show There was nothing out and there was no sign or explanation. When the breakfast was served it was great.
I don't think Best Western should let them hang on to the franchise.....

Upon arrival it looked like any other place to stay. It was when I walked through the lobby door that I should have just turned around. It was hot and uncomfortable. When I was handed my key card. It looked like it had been used before. Still I was tired and needed to rest for a competition in the morning. Walking in I unpacked and started accessing the room but again I was tired and needed rest. There was constant foot traffic and a lot of noise. Altogether I got an hour of sleep. When I decided to get out of bed to get ready thats when I noticed everything in the room. TV was not receiving signal, no microwave, refrigerator was broken, and when I went to use the coffee machine roaches came out. That explains why I felt like bugs were crawling on my skin all night. In short I checked out at 5 AM was not able to compete due to not be able to eat my breakfast or zero sleep. Roaches in my food and ants everywhere. I am waiting for Bestwestern to get back to me, regarding my refund for the room and my competition fee. Stay away from this place. I have pictures this story only tells part of what happened.

Staff was wonderful!! Updated showers are classy and functional. Breakfast was good and convenient. But the beds are horribly hard!! It was the only downside to staying there, and unfortunately a big one.

The staff was non-existent. There was a nice lady who cooked breakfast but also seemed to do everything else as well. The hot tub was full if leaves and freezing so the advertising was not accurate. Inside the room it looked like there had been no maintenance/updates. Paint was flaking off the walls and doors.

Neither pool or got tub were in service, both cold and dirty. Got a very odd room that had a big meeting table in it that we did not rent. Pillows were terrible, bring your own if staying here!

Unsatisfactory Stay
1st night, there so no AC although the unit displayed a temperature of 60 degrees. Was moved to another room and discovered the stopper for the sink was inoperable to drain the water. Had to use a finger nail file to open the stopper. Swimming pool dirty and the jacuzzi was out of service.

Okay, but needs improvement!
A clean but very basic place and the only place in the area that's not a small motel. It looks good from the road but the little things are not tended to. The AC/Heat smelled like burnt coils. The carpet to vinyl wood floor replacement was not done well. Faucets etc. were loose or showing rust. For the price, you feel "taken". That's why I try to stay at the Hampton Inn if there's one around. At least they're consistent in quality, at around the same price.

Needs some management!
It looked good at first. Our suite was great. But the front staff was always hiding in the back. There wasn’t any breakfast until our last morning (then it was good). They claim, on the sign on the front door, that there was a shortage of food. There was plenty of food at the nearby Walmart and Sams Club. The pool was green on the bottom and the hot tub didn’t work. Some of the pool furniture was ripped and the pool deck had garbage at the bar.

Property was not ready for our reservation. We reserved a room for four, but the room was not ready for 4 people (not enough bedding, not enough towels). We booked a room with a microwave, but there was no mircowave. The room was in general disrepair. The drawers would not stay closed. No working exhaust in bathroom. The bathroom towel bar was broken. The spigot in the bathtub was loose. Hinges rusty. Overall, it was just not well maintained. The staff was amazing and super friendlly and helpful, but our room seemed outdated and not maintained. Breakfast was good. Parking was easy. Even though there is supposed to be no smoking allowed, the buidling and our room smelled like smoke.

As soon as you walked in the front door you could smell mold. The electrical outlet I’m my bathroom didn’t work. The shower dripped all night and there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The table tops on all the tables in the common area we’re loose and wobbly just waiting for an accident.

Honestly for the reviews I read I expected more out of the rooms pictures spoke a lot more room was nothing like the pictures wish I would have taken my own light in the bathroom did not work had to wiggle the switch mirror were missing in the bedroom room was supposed to be non smoking but smelled like they tried to sanitize after someone smoked the air smelled moldy aging paying close to 200 for les than 8 hours of use expected more

Freshly renovated. Nice rooms, great breakfast (loved the pancake machine), friendly staff. Only drawback was the water which had a smell and tasted bad, but I suspect that is just the area in general and not the hotel specifically.

Friday night everything was great. However Sunday early morning around 3am I was woken up by a loud pool party outside. When trying to contact the front desk it would just ring busy. Two trips down there was a sign that said “be back in 10 working on maintenance.” After my 2nd trip down I see a gentleman in the hallway who just came from outside. He explained to me they were “just having fun” and let me know the girl who works the front desk was also outside enjoying the party. Told him I had a really long day Sunday followed by an 8 hour car ride and was very disappointed it was now 5am. He told me I should have let them know sooner to be quiet. About 20 minutes later it finally seemed to be the end of it however I was already up for the day.

Getting worse with each visit
Check in was easy. Stayed here mamy times. Issue was the water is very very hard. The air conditioner created so much condensation that the staff placed a rolled towel underneath it. All that did was pool water around the area because as i stepped in the general area of the a/c, water would come up through the laminate wood flooring. That means the whole area is wet which gave me concerns about what mold issues are under the tiles. I guess, out of site, out of mind. There is only one washer and dryer for the whole 3-story hotel... washer worked.. dryer was broken the whole time i was there (4 nights).

hotel is a little run down. air conditioner was obviously leaking in the room, they had shoved a towel underneath it to soak up the water but the carpet by the bed was still saturated. the walls are paper thin so you can hear all the neighbors, who are consistently very loud. i would rather drive an extra 20 minutes out of the way and stay someplace else. that might also help with the fact that there is almost nowhere to eat nearby as well.

Renter beware
I waited 10 days to write review. I tried to reach management several occasions no response. My room had mold in shower, had huge water stains on ceiling by bed, my door didnt close all the way, the room next to mee the doornwas completely kicked out. The sofa had so many stains. The bathroom was missing hooks to hang towels. When came time to check out noone there, the breakfast lady printed up a reciept.
But it wasnt all bad food was decent, had ac, and the lady preparing the food was very nice. Had plenty of parking.
Not sure if i would stay again

We were very disappointed
We had ants in our room. The water was boiling hot. My daughter almost got burn. There was a lot of things that were falling apart or broken. The room really needed an update. The breakfast was really good.

Poor maintenance for the age of this building
My room shelves hanging off walls for towels, toilet not bolted down, it moved a lot . Window shafe broken held up by a towel, carpeting and flooring filthy.

Let’s see where should I start!!!! The front desk staff was great but thats about the only positive about this hotel. I checked in with my Service dog (my reservations say’s I have a service dog) the staff member who serves the food was walking down the hallway and began to hassle me about my Service dog, from the second we walked in! We tried to use the phone in the room to call down to the front desk (it wouldn’t call out) to complain about very loud rude guests next door from the hours 9pm-12:30am it was so loud it woke me up (im a heavy sleeper too) my husband had to use his cell phone to call. Then it continued so i walked down to the desk! I mean who lets their kids run and yell in the halls at midnight rude people! Like i said the front desk was good and they came straight up! But it didn’t stop they kept doing it! The housekeeping needs to do better we found a NASTY unwanted surprise behind the dresser drawer next to the bed, after taking a picture were pretty sure it’s a molding piece of pizza ewww! My husband has lung issues and im sure that sleeping next to that for 3 days wasn’t the best for his breathing. I booked this hotel because of it’s hot tub only to find it was not working, and on top of that the pool was dirty AF! I looks like they never clean it! My husband and daughter always get into the pool when they see one but this pool was the dirtiest pool ever!

Very good; would recommend
Rushed to reserve due to circumstances and was holding breath after looking at other reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Very clean. Must have been updated completely since other reviews done as have no complaints and have higher standards. Very cheap for type of place and decent breakfast too

Acceptable but needs better supervision.
Check in person friendly but not knowledgeable re places to eat. Info sheet provided out of date. 2nd night with a meeting on site—no available parking, advised to park up against the side of building sidewalk on a corner until after 10 pm when we were contacted and moved the car. Toilet valve not working properly & constant water draining, towel bar off the wall completely. Breakfast -quite good & person servicing area very capable.

This place sucks
It sucked. The manager called my cell before I boarded an aircraft to tell me the Exec Suite (that I'd purposely reserved) had an electrical issue the day before, and the room was no longer available, and the hotel was sold out so I had no room. I told him to find me an accommodation. He refused. He was short-tempered and no help. Worst customer service I think I've ever experienced.

This hotel is very out of date. Everything is old and not well kept. Both ac units were broken so me and my family had to suffer through a miserable hot not. All the ac filter were torn and full of dust. My kids are severely allergic so i had to clean them. We were here for a wedding. We only got 3 or 4 hours of sleep because we were so got and couldnt get to sleep until 2am. There was cockroaches in one of our rooms. None of the usb plug is worked so i had to buy charging blocks. The second night here maintenance came to replace one of the 2 broken ac units with a unit that gave use a little trouble staying on. We asked multiple times for new batteries for the tv remotes but no one ever brought them up so i had to buy batteries to watch the limited channels they did have. The tvs are basic only. No streaming at all. We had so many issues i cant even remember them all..

Won't Stay Again
Started out very bad. Couldn't get key to work in room. Took 15-20 times to finally get it to work. After we got in the room, the fire alarm went off so we exited again and got to the front of building and they said "oh, we are just working on it.....could have told people that!. When we went back to room couldn't get in at all. Went to front desk and they said they couldn't move us as nothing was cleaned. After some discussions with front desk (and a call to BW customer service) we were moved to a different room. The key did work but there was no tray in microwave, the shower didn't work right, there was no stopper in the sink, the plug on the left side of the bed didn't work. Definitely needs some maintenance in hotel. When we talked to someone about the door in our first room, their response was "i dont know why they put you i n that room, the key hasn't been working for awhile". Helen at the front desk was very helpful and Julia they maid was very nice and even tho we took care of o ur own room, she helped with giving us linens, etc.

Least expensive place to stay within a 30 mile radius that is a hotel like option. Everything was great except there was mold or something that’s was not right and made my allergies go crazy from their air conditioner/heater in the room.

Great Place to stay.
An excellent place to stay. Very large rooms and do clean. Bed was so comfy and pillows also.

I didn’t care for the dripping bathroom sink…the shower unit needs to be repaired. Felt like it was very noisy from other quest staying. But did feel the very nice woman that was taking care of the breakfast I felt was so friendly.. although I didn’t use this everyday my husband did. She always had a smile when I seen her.

Nice, Clean Place to Stay
Nice place to stay. We were down for a race weekend. It was clean and a decent place. We would stay there again.

Damp room
Room smelled damp and water pressure was just not good in shower. Other than that everything else was fine.

Front desk staff was never available. Took over 40 mins to get checked in. Keys didn’t work on day two. Very basic rooms, with walls patched. Shower was horrible and curtain wouldn’t stay shut. Hotel is run down.

Black mold
Black mold in bathroom. Pretty new place and towel rack had rust. Rm. 303. I know it is FL but you can't have black mold in the bathroom!!! Check in was distracted with some room problem they were having. Bed comfy. Nice dark shades. Bedside lite one half did not work. Breakfast was very good.

We checked in at 9pm and was never asked for ID. Simply gave my name and was handed the keys. We go to the room and see the door is open. We carefully go inside and see there is mold on the ceiling with a towel under the AC unit and the AC was off. We try to shut the door and realize it won’t shut. We go to the desk and ask for a different room and was told we were the LAST people to check in and they are sold out. The check in person goes to the room and discovers a way to close the door and lock it. Meanwhile, at least 2 other guests are waiting to check in, so the earlier comment was a lie. I don’t want to have to jimmy a lock in a room for the door to shut and me to feel safe.

There is a huge water stain on the cealing that looks like mold. The ac unit has white stuff all over the metal vents. We only had accent pillows. They gave are actual pillows to another room because they requested extra pillows. When that happens we were told they take pillows drom unused rooms. We hadnt checked in yet we did at 5pm they had already taken the pillows abd couldn't get us reqular pillows. The hardwood floors makes the rooms extremely loud. I would not and will not stay here again.
