Wonderful location and bright, clean property. Perfect for a quick overnight stay while waiting for an early morning flight the next day! Very convenient to the Sky Harbor Airport!

Close to the airport. Great quick transfers to and from airport. But old, with no support to have something to eat anywhere near. Also , given room on main level (Good, older couple), but right beside the maintenance room and they were there in front of our window for almost three hours after we had checked in. It worked out as a hotel for the need that we had, getting to our airplance ride at 6am in the morning .

Our room was clean, the heater worked great, and we really liked the lighted sink area. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the iron, but it didn't make a big difference to our quality of stay. Our sheets had a couple small stains on them and that was really the only thing that in any way bothered us.
The staff informed us that the shuttle to the airport picks up every hour. We ended up taking an uber to the airport, and it's only a 10 min drive. We were very happy we stayed at such a conveniently located hotel.

Located near Phoenix international airport with shuttle to the hotel. Was able to uber with minimal wait times for anything beyond walking distance. Room had everything needed for a short stay. No complaints.

Super easy to access this hotel. Very modern and clean hotel. But my biggest selling point was the amazing staff. The day manager went above and beyond to make my stay the best ever and when I had trouble with my tv at night, the staff went way above to help me.

The staff is excellent and efficient. The neighborhood is very sketchy. This hotel was $100 - 200 less than the next closest priced hotel chain near the airport. Hopefully we can return the rental car early tomorrow and not have any issues.

The springs on the bed squeaked everytime I sat down or got up from the bed.
It was quite noisy - you could hear trucks/vans beeping as they backed up,airplanes and people yelling throughout the night.
There were homeless folks on the property that requested I give them my room key as I was leaving.
There was no elevator to the second floor - I feel that should have been disclosed in the description.

Reserved a non-smoking room. When I checked in staff person said we don’t have any. Room was smokey and had a lot of wear. Floor tiles were popping up at the seams walls had chips in them, desk surface was bubbled and coffee pot was not clean. Walls are very thin and you can clearly hear things you going on next door and above you. Disappointing for the price. Airport shuttle was the best thing about the hotel.

It is very reasonably priced and appears clean but the cleaning agents have a strong sweet odor that I don’t like. There are not a lot of choices in walking distance to eat but it is a short bus ride to downtown.

Overall, good experience but not thrilled with the Van Burn clientele. Was unaware there would be a sketchy neighbourhood nearby the airport. Bit uncomfortable as a woman travelling alone, didn’t venture out and was quite comfortable. Overall 3-4 stars!

The room had an odor that was unpleasant. The HVAC unit was noisy. The bathroom was old, we had no desire to shower in there. The area was somewhat sketchy. Would not recommend or stay there again.

I was impressed with the attention to maintenance, cleanliness and quality. This is an older motel but in good condition. There are obvious updates. The bedding, linens and towels are as good as any 4* property.

I was not expecting an old style Motel. The lobby was off-putting and i thought I had made a terrible mistake booking there. But, the room turned out to be fine. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and i would recommend planning to eat elsewhere.

I could not stay at this location. It was very dirty and people outside excessively drinking and being vulgar. I did. It feel safe at all and will be contacting Travelocity for a refund.

I found this accommodation clean, well equipped, good shower (tub quite worn) staff friendly, the room was large. Would only say it would be nice to have more amenities and restaurants within walking distance. Great for the price. Like having breakfast included and airport shuttle available!

This property is horrible. Do not stay here. Staff is beyond not helpful. Got to my room. The toilet would not flush front desk would not help . They would not move us rooms. This property is horrible. Do not stay here. Booked a non-smoking room due to asthma. Put us in a smoking room. We ended up leaving. Right after check in We did not even stay the night it was that bad!!!!

It's a motel layout, but the room was all newly redone and the property was well organized and clean. Good place to stay on the way or back from airport. Would stay again.

Pricey, not a bad place to say,
The layout of the room was great. We stayed at 3 hotels this trip and this room was the easiest to move around in. Liked that the tv wasn't flush with the cabinet. We could use the space under the tv and still use the remote. Comfortable beds that were perfect height. Breakfast was good.
My complaints-the rooms are pricey. The toilet wasn't bolted to the floor properly, it would thump every time you stood up. The toilet also leaked, a puddle regularly formed in the middle of the floor. The office with breakfast was an outside walk. This isn't a great area and very noisy with flight pattern.
The shuttle was quick and convenient. He did leave earlier than our time. He spent the majority of the ride talking on the phone. He had an offensive sign taped to the front wall and he dropped us off at the wrong doors.
This isn't a bad place to stay, just plan accordingly.

Very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. My room had the most slight smoke aroma. At checkin I was told it was a smoking room so I did expect a lingering aroma but all the stickers and such said it was non smoking. I’m not complaining I had a very comfortable stay and would visit here again.

Multiple locals told us we were at a bad part of town, and not to walk anywhere. You can tell they have tried to clean up the motel. The rooms look more modern than you would think. Our room had a weird smell. They do have a free airport shuttle which was great.

After calling night before to ask about putting security deposit which is 250! Was told would leave note for manager and call in am. Called in am a man told me no manager until next week and there was nothing he could do. After asking about filling out a form that was able to do over the phone at the surestay in Seattle night before was told no such thing and my son who is a first year college student did not have a credit card wouldn’t be allowed to check in though they had all my information too. So lost my room I’m still charged for and had to get him another room which had no problem letting me book it immediately and allowed me to put on my card as well as the temporary fee to hold Thank you holiday inn phoenix airport. I tried to explain my son was traveling alone and needed a place to stay and begged for a little humanity for my son but front desk man just kept cutting me off saying nothing he could do no manager and made no effort just repeated over and over asking for name to cancel reservation. My son was traveling from Alaska rerouted to phoenix trying to get to North Dakota. He had 200 on debit card but apparently that wasn’t enough yet Seattle as well as Holiday in had no problem allowing security deposit to be put on my card that I reserved with and was able to fill an acknowledgment form to them online. The lack of any humanity or attempt to help was unacceptable.

After over 12 hrs flight and just needing rest. The front desk gave me an already occupied room disturbing and scaring them! I had to from the 2nd floor repack my bags into my car and get the right room! Sorry, just tired and venting!!?!

Short stay in Phoenix
The hotel itself is conveniently located if you are flying out of Phoenix. The room was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood location of the hotel is “Sketchy at Best”. I certainly was not going to go for a stroll, especially after dark.

Booked at the last minute because it was close to airport. Pics and review ratings were deceiving. This place was gross! Very dated property in a sketchy looking part of town. Holes in the sheets. Room reeked of marijuana even after they sprayed deodorizer. We sucked it up since we were leaving at 4 am, but I would not recommend staying here!

I chose this hotel because they offered free shuttle bus to PHX. I made a 6am reservation for the shuttle bus, but when I got there next morning a couple of minutes before 6am, the shuttle bus was already gone! Instead of apologizing, they said “no one told you to be here 10 minutes before the reservation time?” Wowwww. If I was late, even a minute, I would understand, but I was there before 6! Why did they even write my room# on their reservation book, if they won’t give me a call? They even told me to wait for the next bus, which was one hour later 7am…(they offer shuttle bus only every hour). I took Lyft.

Reasonably priced, clean and accessible
Room was clean and stocked with what you need. Only thing that it had no furniture other than a rolling chair at the desk. The area isn’t the best outside the hotel grounds. But stores were closed for needs and restaurants as well.

The place is an old motel.its been updated somewhat. The rooms are clean & comfortable. I dont think it smelt old & musty. It had all the shampoo, soap & what have you. I found a Mexican restaurant, La Barquita, that served good food. 6 min. By car. I walked, 44 min., in daylight. Neighborhood was to seedy to walk home after dark. Taxi took a fair while to show up. A taxi with a 5 star rating is Sams Taxi 1 480 639 5000. I realy enjoyed Barquitas restaurant. Shure Stay room was above adequate.

The area is not a very safe one and there is no where to eat close by. Love the shuttle to the airport and the secure place ro leave your car. That's the whole reason I use this place.
