I didn’t realize the building was older. There was no heat in the lobby. It was like walking into a freezer. The heat in our room had to be turned up to 85 to finally get heat blowing. The elevator stopped working. The phone outside our elevator didn’t work. We had to climb down 2 flights of stairs to find a phone that worked to call the front desk about the elevator. Yes, it was broken due to a leak, but they offered to manually send the elevator up to get us, which we accepted. The ATM was down, the restaurant was closed and looked like it had been for some time as it was being used for storage (you could see this through the windows). One morning we had to wait over an hour for the valet to get our car (along with 3 other parties). Overall, it was not a great experience.

Classy Hotel
Magnolia is truly a gem among the hustle of downtown Dallas. This is our second stay, and we absolutely love this hotel.
The hotel is classy. The rooms are spacious suites with kitchen. What a nice upgrade.
The only thing that we didn't care for was the homeless sleeping outside on the property. They were messy and never clean up after themselves. I don't know why they are allowed to camp wherever they want ?

Disappointing
What used to be a historic hotel (old building) with a wonderful vibe in the past, has changed into a old, "neglected" building with none of the traditional wonderful breakfasts (no restaurant), happy-hour (including coffee & cookies in the afternoons), etc. I so looked forward to staying there again after a few years, but was bitterly disappointed. No room service over the 6 nights that I've stayed there.

Great historic place.

Classy, Considerate, and Clean
An early flight put me in Dallas at 5am. I had a hotel booked that night, check-in was scheduled for 4pm, but they got me checked in by the time I got downtown at 7am.
This bought me a few hours to sleep and get ready for the big weekend in the Metroplex. Plus, its a beautiful hotel, good staff and near so many awesome downtown amenities..

We liked the old architecture. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Only draw backs are condition of the rooms. Cracked tiles, missing sprinkler heads, poor lighting. Holes in the carpet. Homeless camp at the side entry. Super loud presumably due to the single pane windows

Great value despite dated decor
The Magnolia remains a great value. It's rooms and décor are quite dated, but still large and charming. Location in downtown Dallas is great. $42 valet per night seems a little high.

Nice Hotel, Good Location, but Needs Internet
Nice hotel and good location. Not too far from the convention center. Good customer service and excellent free coffee in the morning. However, my biggest problem with this hotel is there is no Internet on the 4th - 6th floor. I complained and asked to change floors, but the hotel was completely booked - most likely for the UPW Conference with Tony Robbins. I wouldn't mind staying here again, but only if the Internet was fixed!

I visited this hotel many times before Covid. Told my daughter it was my get away hotel and all the great amenities it had. So this year I booked a room for my daughter and I only to be disappointed. New ownership, no kitchen or bar, no more cookies and milk at night for guests.

The rooms were poorly lit and did not look like the pictures online. We were in two rooms and both showers filled the tub and did not drain. There were no tissues, hand soap or other typical toiletries. The restaurant and bar were closed.

A queen signature suite was booked 9/6/23, the following Sunday I drove to the Magnolia and confirmed a view to see the fireworks for NYE on 26th floor or higher. 12/30 I called to confirm, 12/31 @ 614pm check-in I was given.a suite on the 14 floor. They did not honor the aboved as I declined check in they charged my credit card! .

We stayed here last year and enjoyed it so decided to visit again.
We were greeted by 2 staff members upon check-in, around 5pm.
When we got to our room, we noticed we had 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth. No hand towels. We made a mental note to get more of everything later.
We went out for dinner and returned about 9pm. There was a long line at the counter, with only 1 staff member working the desk.
When we arrived at the front of the line, we told him that we wanted 2 more bath towels, a hand towel, and a wash cloth. We were given 2 more bath towels but were told the washcloths were being washed and there were no hand towels available. We found this odd.
We had 3 windows in our room, each with a screen covering that could be raised/lowered and a Roman shade curtain that could be raised/lowered. On at least one of the windows, the rope on the Roman shade was broken.
The rooms and lobby are in reasonable shape for its age. It could use some improvements. It also appears that the hotel is not properly staffed and does not have the proper equipment to run a 27-floor hotel.

I’ve stayed here in the past and it was good. This time it did not meet my expectation. The gentleman that checked me in spoke too soft and I could not hear him to understand what he was saying to me. The lock on the door broke the second night and I couldn’t get in my room and the hot water did not work. The location was great.

Magnolia hotel is located on a nice area. The building is nice, but the rooms are very old and old fashioned. They have dirty carpet and it is disgusting to see accumulated dust throughout the room edge. I honestly expected something in a better condition. The pictures look much better.

Exterior hotel architecture: beautiful. Various eateries within walking distance. Only expensive valet prkg offered by hotel. Found reasonable overnight public prkg but unmanned & difficult to navigate. Issue with hotel room was that 1 wall did not attach to floor leaving a gap. Exit stairway on other side of wall. Gap allowed bugs to enter room & allowed anyone using the stairs to clearly hear discussions in room. Was offered another room but we had no time to make a switch as we were out all day & into the night. Also hotel charged us a $100 deposit even though 1) we are 65 & 77 yrs old but they must have thought we were going to do some kind of damage & 2) they had our room pymt since beginning of December but must have thought we were some kind of risk. Rated average since staff heard but didnt really listen or care about my concerns.

Great building, nice big rooms. Comfortable beds and really good shower pressure. Walking distance (10 mins) to Kennedy sites and plenty of shopping/restaurants nearby. Good part of town, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here next time.

Very average hotel. It’s older and you can feel it. When we checked in the room was not as clean as it should have been. The body wash pump in the shower was missing and the Kleenex box was empty. There is no housekeeping.

The hotel is older than what we expected (from a room perspective) but it's down town in a good location. Close to the American Airlines Center and other activities. It was clean and the staff was amazing! My biggest complaint was the AC did not work well. Thankfully its winter (kinda) so it was bearable. Overall good stay!

Grea central location to a lot of restaurants. Place and rooms are clean amd the bathrooms are massive. Beds are medium firm.
Bathrooms wasnt fully equipped with all essentials, i.e. soap, all towels, extra toilet paper. Not bad as we just called for more.

The Dallas marathon was going on while we were there, which we didn’t know about. On Sunday the valet was closed until noon due to closures, but there was zero communication about it when cars were dropped off or in the lobby. Hard to make your flight when it leaves at 11:30 and they’re telling you that you can’t get your car until 12.

I liked the property in concept. The building looks great from the outside, the room was spacious. However, the room was freezing, even with the thermostat turned up to 80 and the windows were so dirty, I could barely see out of them to enjoy what would have been a very cool view of the city.

The stay was great but the valet there was so terrible. In the day of check out I had texted valet to get my vehicle around 8:30 in the morning. They returned the text by stating it would be 10 minutes. We waited for ten minutes then continued to wait for over 30 minutes. After asking valet about our vehicle they advised they had to look for an alternate route to do roads being closed. We advised that was fine and waited. After waiting for 45 minutes now another valet employee would bring other vehicles for costumers. We waited over an hour and a half until I finally called Onstar to locate my vehicle. Valet had been driving my vehicle for over and hour and a half while other vehicle where being brought to the door. I had to walk a mile to get my vehicle after telling valet to stop driving me vehicle around Dallas. The worst experience I have ever had.

The Magnolia is supposedly a historic hotel and while the elevator lobby is very cool, the room seemed to deviate from my 'historic' expectation. The pictures do indicate contemporary furniture inside the rooms which I didn't pay attention to but found odd and out of place once I was there. It looked like college dorm room furniture or furniture purchased from another hotel chain. My queen suite was missing eating utensils but had a set of cooking utensils like a potato masher, ladle and slotted spoon. The room I was in overlooked both Commerce and Akard. Even from the 14th floor, the street noise was loud. The hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff was very friendly.

We had aweekend downtown for a friends birthday. Most people stayed next-door at the Adolfus . We decided to save a little money and stay right next-door… It’s a nice historic building. Unimpressive lobby. I’d stayed there before. The cons this time were we needed to take our showers right when we got there. There was only one towel. We asked for towels and a wine opener and we got a towel and a can opener. There was several black hairs in bath tub and three floor tiles that kept coming out if you stepped there. The blackout blinds truely worked . We haven’t slept that late in years ! At check-in, they told us the marathon was the next day, which we didn’t know. Our car would be trapped in valet till after 1 o’clock, although check out was at 11… They walked us down the street and up the parking ramp to get our car out at noon.

The only reason i gave this property 4 stars is because of Maria. She was very helpful and sweet, she accommodated me out of the kindness of her heart and she is the only reason i extended my stay. Thank you so much Maria ! As for the room, it was nice, i was on a high floor. I must say that the amenities were lacking. No sauna, no in room dining, no lounge bar, no pool. The only reason to stay at this place is for the AT&T center across the street and the potentially good view.

The view from the room was great other than that be warned this is a 2 star hotel, lipstick on a pig. The management/ownership doesn't care and it shows. Broken lamps, shades, TV did not work the entire time, damaged walls, furniture and carpet, manager never on duty or returns messages.

We went for the Kenny 60th. I liked how walkable it was to all events. I didn't like there were no shops to purchase any Kenndy merchandise other than the individual's selling things on site. Also wasn't impressed with all the homeless though security seemed to be doing their best to move them along.

The Magnolia Hotel is a fixture in downtown Dallas. Of the 27 floors, I stayed on floor 21 with a beautiful view. My reservation came with a full kitchen which was wonderful. If you are coming to Dallas downtown, consider the Magnolia.

The Magnolia looks beautiful in photos, but this property is extremely dated! Additionally, there were insufficient towels and wash cloths in the room when we arrived. The cabinet doors in the kitchenette were broken, the toilet paper holder was broken, and there was a visible layer of dust on the windowsills.

The hotel would have been excellent of it wasn’t for just a few things. The hotel is historic and beautiful but the plumbing was old. When you flushed the toilet, it took a while for it to re-flush. The air conditioning was also off. We had to change rooms because our room was freezing and the heater didn’t work. Besides that, it was awesome!

Always great except i have VIP status at this hotel with Expedia & this time, they didn't give me my voucher for their coffee shop or a room upgrade or let me have free late night check out. The front desk guy just acted like I was acting for his left kidney even speaking to him after he gave me my room key..And so we only got a noon check out. but even though we had our "do not disturb" sign on the door, housekeeping knocked on our door at 9, 10, 11, and 1145. Very freaking annoying as we were trying to sleep in. Why does this happen every single time. Andcwe should have had a 200 check out anyway. We always get that. There were hardly any people in the hotel, so i know thats not why..Why are all service employees under the age of 30 awful and avt like they hate their jobs? It's a SERVICE industry. I did it for over 20 years, too.

nice elegant kind of place, the only thing I didn't like was that they don't come in and clean and turn down the room on a daily basis, also had to get the engineer to fix the heat the first night was cold and had to get the engineer ro fix the cable for the tv, room apparently wasn't ready to rent out. My only issue was I used the app to get my car on the last day and it notified me that max it would take was 30 min. I waited for at least 30 min seeing tons of customers getting there cars in and out of hotel valet so then notified a staff valet member to see if car was in route to us which it was confirmed they never started task. So I waited another 10 min until car arrived!
