I got to my first room and the tv was fuzzy and the phone didn't work so I switched to another room . I then had a cockroach on the BR wall I killed and showed them so I went to another room but door wouldn't open with a key went to another room. Hall floor and carpet on stairs needed vacuuming I was comped one night.

My review is not based on past experience with Super 8 as this is my first stay at a Super 8 in at least 20 years. This will be compared to simply what a hotel could do better or was great at.
Going into this experience I was not fully expecting much out of it but it was better than expected.
First off, staff were friendly and helpful.
Room booked with Expedia and given room in front of elevator. This wouldn’t have been preferred but luckily there weren’t many guests and only was an issue just before sleep for 2 minutes. But elevator worked and reliable, which is better than past stays at other hotels.
Breakfast consisted of pancake maker, bread with jelly, cereal, and honeybun packets. Juice, warm milk, and coffee as an optional add.
Bedding had a large stain on sheet.
Bedroom wall had boogers on wall.
A/C and Heater worked great as well as refrigerator and hot/cold water (also better than most past stays at other hotels)
Could improve on throwing out stained sheets and looking for boogers on the walls.
Bed was hard and sleeps stiff.
Offers many pamphlets of local attractions.

It's not a cheap hotel, I will be go for the beter
We booked the family room. And it was impossible to fit into the bed. Second and worst, my kids got itch, with whole body blisters. Then I ask for new Lenin and iron it all over, seems some kind of allegen in the bed sheets or washed in worst detergents.

What we did not like: breakfast was so-so, even for a breakfast-to-go; beds were old & not comfortable; and the room was not clean.
On the plus, it was very convenient to the Skyline Drive.

We booked it as a last minute decision. The tub creaks, you only got two towels for 2 adults, no 1 small shampoo and body lotion (thank goodness I always pack extra. They seem to rent rooms for people to live there as well. Have breakfast from Dunkin Donuts or Our Hometown Diner. The coffee was not even tolerable. Was very disappointed.

We had a wheelchair bound person. Your small entrance door did not have an automatic button. Getting up to the door was really hard. It was steep and the crack at the curb level was too deep requiring backing over the crack and pulling up the steep incline to a door that opens outward. This made our coming and going really difficult. The continental breakfast was really small. No english muffins eggs or breakfast meat. The only fruit was apples. No bananas? No one at the desk regularly. Vending machines empty in the lobby. I feel like a hotel practically at the entrance of skyline drive should be more enticing.

Our stay at the hotel was fine. The room was clean which is a plus. The breakfast area is a bit small, not enough tables (only 3) which made you sit at the couches or take your food to your room. All in all, our stay was good, the beds comfortable.

Let me start off by saying I have never wtote a hotel review. The first night that we arrived it was very late. I was traveling with my husband and child in one room and older son and friend in another room. When we arrived we went to our room. The first issue was the TV did not work. Figured its late were going to sleep soon we will address that in the morning. The first time we flushed the toilet it clogged. My husband went down stairs to tell them and also advise about the TV. They sent him backnwith a plunger and told him to unplug the TV and plug it back in. We had already tried that and tried different outlets. It didnt work. The next morning I got up to get around. I went to use the hotel hair dryer and when I did that didnt work. I figured out Ill unplug it and use mine that I brought. When I went to unplug it a COCKROACH crawled out of the outlet! The outlet and was cover in roach droppings. I took a video and went down to the front desk. I asked for the manager. Was told he wouldnt be available till after 1:00pm. After 10 minutes of standing at the front desk asking for a refund, a manager, or even the number to cooperate the lady texted the manager. When he called me he told me he could only refund my money if I checked out. Fair enough I didnt want to continue staying at the hotel. When I went back to the desk to get a refund. This was a Friday morning I was told I couldnt get one till the following week.

For a Super 8 (years ago even as a broke college student you wouldn’t catch me staying in one) my family was super pleased. Only thing the beds in our room were super hard…an adjustment for sure, but for the amount of time we actually spent in the room not too big an issue.

Stay was just ok. Is an older motel but very clean with excellent staff. Large room but floor creaked, bathtub drain slow, didn't figure out the tv (roku couldn't find local stations, 3 tables for breakfast area not enough, breakfast selections just barely satisfactory.

I decided to stay here because it is a Wyndham facility, so I knew there would be upgraded standards above and beyond a normal motel. Accommodations were spacious and very clean. Amenities provided were adequate for my needs, as I only needed a place to sleep in. I felt quite comfortable in my suite and enjoyed having a frig & microwave. I would definitely stay here again!!

We stay here once a year for a bicycle ride called Tour de Skyline Drive. Super convenient for the start of that ride.

The good...close to the river and state parks, restaurants very close and a few stores nearby as well. The bad...room had roaches, second room we got after discovering roaches had a used syringe behind the nightstand. Fridge had crumbs in it, wasn't clean. Rooms were dirty, floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in awhile. Very poor cleaning staff apparently. Hotel is outdated. There is a smell throughout the hotel, it smells really bad. Seems like ownership just doesn't care about the conditions in the hotel. The staff is helpful and pleasant but the rest of the hotel is definitely not.

It was clean, easy to find, and everything worked. Lots of outlets and USB chargers in the room. The coffee was good, too. Breakfast was a bit sparse, but I don't care much for motel breakfast anyway.

We stayed over night at this property. The room, beds and bathroom are clean. There is a fridge and microwave inside the room. The hotel is very close the attaraction point. Breakfast options are reasonable and good for the price.

Comfy bed, nice room, helpful and friendly staff person who took my reservation papers and gave me a room key. Best of all, a very reasonable price for the room (less than $90). For me, the only real difference between this room and a $250 room at a Hilton is $160.

Miserable experience and no customer service
This hotel was in a state of disrepair. The tv had a bad picture with lines across the screen, and the window screen aluminum frame was completely broken. The breakfast was all carbs except for the small packages of peanut butter, and there were only a couple small tables so there was no place to sit. The worst part was that we went to get ready after breakfast, and there was a steady curtain of water coming through the ceiling due to the shower running on the floor above us. Based on the damage to the ceiling, it was a known problem and we were given the room anyway. We couldn't even use the toilet due to the amount of water coming through the entire ceiling let alone get ready for the day. We asked at the desk, and there wasn't even a public toilet we could use or one in another room. They suggested we find somewhere in town. There was no offer of discount or refund. We never heard from management. What was meant to be a fun weekend turned very sour. We were only looking for simple, basic yet clean and functional, but it was a miserable experience.

Please do not book this it is very dirty and they have bed bugs I booked it for 2 days and I checked out in 12hours staff is unresponsive and even management is very bad. They do not care if you are comfortable or not very bad place to stay. Please do not book this worst experience.

Shenandoah dog friendly hotel
Hosts very friendly. Robbie so helpful in answering questions during booking. Suite was very comfortable and spacious enough for relaxing with the other couple we were traveling with. Location great near entrance to national park. A few other guests staying with their dogs and all well behaved.

Cons: there was a weird smell in the room coming from the AC unit, the room was a bit worn in a few places and the bathtub squeaked very loudly

The hotel room was quite clean, except the window could use a good wash. The elevator and halls could also use a good cleaning. Our bed in room 220 needs a foam cover as the mattress is a bit too hard. All in all for the price and for a one night stay was fine.

I traveled with my daughter, who needed a good night's sleep. The room across from us had a VERY LOUD man speaking at the top of his voice until nearly midnight. I tried to call the front desk - my room phone was non functional. I tried on my cellphone 4 times, and no answer. I finally had to go knock on the door myself to confront the person. The next day I was told, the front desk may have been sleeping... and I could come down to tell them next time - ummmm, in my pajamas at midnight - no thank you. The next night also a VERY LOUD couple arguing.. I again had to call front desk on my cellphone. They answered this time and called the offenders.

Great price, very clean, and conveniently located. Only drawback is the breakfast which was pretty much non-existent. They provided cereal, juice, and an automatic pancake maker that made about a 3 inch pancake. Breakfast wasn't bad, just very scant.

We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the room was and especially how soft the towels were. We have never stayed at a Super 8 and were hesitant to go there but it was the last room available in a 25 mile radius and it was late. We slept late but the front desk was accommodating by getting some honey buns and tea and sugar out for us after breakfast was over. Whatever they use to wash the towels the whole Wyndham family of hotels should use it. Super 8 is now an option for us when traveling!

The suite price was very good. Had 2 of them. One had a small couch. The other one had 3 beds which was nice for who was on the trip. My concern is when I called the hotel to ask questions I was told the wrong answers. They said the suites was close to the lobby and same floor. They was not. But there was an elevator just wrong info provided. The breakfast was not much offered. But overall it was a fair average hotel.

We stayed with our small dog. Room was clean, comfortable, and included a light breakfast, which was a good value, particularly in tourist season. My only suggestion would be to assure the light bedspread is laundered with the sheets. While we could not detect any odor, it was obvious our dog did.

I booked this super 8 after badly injuring my knee while camping in Shenandoah Park. I was lucky to pick this hotel. The staff have been very helpful to me, now on crutches, and friendly and caring. I have been here for 3 days now while trying to get well enough to continue my trip and I feel super lucky with my choice. I am laid up in a comfortable bed, fridge, micro, clean room. Could be much worse!

Nice not having dirty carpet. No strange smells. Mattress was a little rough. Lot of outside noise, but Wyndham taking over Super8 must've made a huge difference. Check in clerk and day mgr were AMAZING. Would stay there again - plus proximity to Spelunkers & Dunkin Donuts didn't hurt!

Did not think this location is worth the price. Outlet next to the bed had a splitter which didn't want to stay in the outlet itself. Shower/tub creeks with every movement while showering. Free breakfast was only available between 6-9 which we did not get since the hours were so odd. Only ever saw 2 people working there, 1 at check in and another at check out. They were very nice, room was clean, otherwise this location ultimately is outdated.

Horrible Mattress, Room Clean and a HOT shower!
The Room was pretty clean with the exception of right around the base of the toilet. I used a Clorox wipe I had to clean that area. The chair in the room had many stains on it, and looked like it was at least 25 years old. 39" flat screen TV was good. The Bed was very old, and one of the worst beds I have slept in. Lots of broken springs on the side near the alarm clock. Room 207 definitely needs a new mattress! The Floor was nice, and looked like it was installed in recent years. The Shower had HOT Water right away which is a big plus with this property! Also, good shower pressure! For a one night stay this property is okay

Right outside Shenandoah. Easy to get to the park! Cute town it’s located in. Motel is nothing spectacular but decent for our stay and to get to the park. Perk is dog friendly!
