House keeping left our door ajar and unattended for hours, room service orders were wrong, they forgot to give me the breakfast voucher, indoor pool was closed all weekend with no explanation or anticipated opening date, coffees not restocked in room, renovations on floor above us without informing us or posting on website, plus other things I could nit pick but I don’t have too. Over all, terrible and expensive stay considering no amenities were available.

The location is great. The day staff at the desk was great,as was the restaurant staff. The night staff at the desk, not so much. The heater in the room was nonfunctioning (it ran but you couldn't control the temperature, so it just blew cold air). We were also forced to park offsite, even though I have a handicap permit. Overall, we will not return and I cannot recommend.

The remodeled room was wonderful. Unfortunately the pool was closed for maintenance, even though we had called to check it would be open before booking 2 days prior to our stay. Kids were happy just playing in the room.

Check your credit card
My credit card was charged for 2 extra nights instead of one. This staff charged me numerous times including an additional charge for $117 all for asking to stay one extra night.

We enjoyed our stay. Superb location, can walk to many of the historic sites the city has to offer. Staff was welcoming and kind. Room was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Enjoyed the pool! Would have liked a mini-fridge & microwave in the room. We missed having access to a complimentary tea/coffee bar in the lobby area. 4.5 out of 5 stars. Will stay again (and bring our cooler ;)

Clean and quiet
We like to stay here when we come to visit family. Parking is easy . It is nice and quiet too. The only complaint was when the heat came on at night it was kind of loud. Other than that it was very comfortable. We would stay here again.

We have stayed twice off-season but on Holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. The facility is nicely managed and the room accommodations are above par - recommended.Salem is a walking town and many pleasant things are around. Many, along with good dining opportunities, are close by (walking). It is a solid place.

Annual Trip To Salem
My wife and I use Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites when we visit Salem, going on 10 years now. We tried a few other areas to stay, however Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites always has clean comfortable rooms, excellent location for walking to and from everything going on in Salem, friendly staff, a nice pool, easy parking, and nice restaurant and bar on premises. I have recommended them to others when they visit Salem.

I booked this hotel for a business trip when I arrived. You couldn't move through the lobby and upon arriving in my room. You could not adjust the heat. And there was a portable space heater in my room that you could not adjust. The temperature settings on we ordered room service and 45 minutes after ordering. We had to go pick it up ourselves at the restaurant. Because nobody was going to check the orders after the kitchen left for the evening although the bar was still open. In room service was still available.
For how much I paid for this would not come back.

The hotel is living on the location
The second night,Friday, there was a function which overflowed into the lobby- do you want hotel guests exposed to groping and fondling, in the lobby? We could not get into the pub for a drink and food. We had to leave the site.i called the front desk at 11:30 to ask what time the cacophony would end. I was immediately told the pub closes at 1:00. The band stopped soon after my call. We should have been told about the party, music and given the opportunity to move rooms or leave. Friday we went to the pub for breakfast, 8:00 and was greeted with “it’s early for breakfast”. We witnessed the only other guest in the pub be rudely spoken to.
Two elevators- one out of service and the other not working efficiently. Sure glad there was no emergency. No signs for the stairs were visible.
The hotel in general is well worn and in need to upgrades.
We had planned to be back for Monday night but canceled.
The gentleman at the front desk was attentive and provided a token refund which did not change our minds. He was an oasis in a quagmire.

An Excellent Stay
Overall, an excellent stay, with friendly staff, very nice accommodations, comfortable room and amenities. With an excellent bar/restaurant on the premise, how can one go wrong? The food at the Salem Waterfront's restaurant was excellent, with very large portions. Walking distance to all the Salem "must-sees," and right on the waterfront, which is a great place to walk and take in the sea air. We certainly recommend a stay.

My second time staying here and the property is just how I remembered. Very clean and located in a good area of Salem, close to restaurants, coffee shops and shopping.

Great Stay
It is the perfect location for walking to the shops and museums, all within .5 mile from the hotel. The room was great and well worth the price per night. We ordered room service for dinner and we had it within 30 minutes. The food was delicious. Check in and Check out was an easy process.
Only issue my wife and I had were the thin walls. You could hear the baby/children cry and carry on, plus the singing and loud talking next door. Then we weren't told about the renovations happending above our room, so at 9 AM you heard a bunch of hammering and drilling. But these were things that aren't usually happening there, just during our stay and whenever the renovations are finished. We were on the 4th floor for these, the renovations are happening on the 5th floor.
With this being said, we'd definitely stay there again, its a great hotel in a great location, with its own parking area, which is a plus!!

Good location. Friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. If your room is over the bar area it is very loud at night. Most of the room is carpeted except for area by bathroom to the entrance which is a laminate flooring. This area is extremely slippery and almost fell 2xs' when wearing socks.

Very nice hotel, the staff was very nice. Room was spacious and clean. Location was where you could walk to almost all attractions and close to the seafood restaurants. Would have given it 5 stars but shower had minimal water pressure.

Overall this hotel is excellent. The staff was courteous and helpful and the room was clean and had nice amenities like quality soaps & shampoo and a bathrobe. We did not eat onsite but the location right near the harbor in Salem makes dining choices plentiful. The only negative is that in the room and always the appearance is a bit worn in spots.

Our granddaughter is a senior at Colby. Last night we took her and three friends to dinner at the Lockwood. Dinner was delicious, the service was excellent and we had a great time. Our bedroom was lovely and clean. Only request: please put grab bars in all of the showers.

Would definitely stay here again. Close to everything but not in the center where all the crowds are at. I had a situation where the check in person billed my credit card for my room all over again but a nice gentleman reversed the claim and took care of the problem for me 2 days later when I noticed the charge. Rooms are large and spacious as well.

Great spur of the moment stay!
We booked a spur of the moment trip to Salem and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The check in desk staff was amazing and helpful. We used the pool in the evening and the temperature of the water was perfect!

Service was very good. Breakfast that I paid for was very good and delivered to the room. Salem had a water issue, hotel tried to accommodate.
FYI, it is not waterfront!!!!!!!
Its a basic hotel for waterfront price. Nothing special. Consider the price you pay. Laquinta or Holiday Inn express quality without the free breakfast

This property is located adjacent to the historic properties in Salem Massachusetts. There’s a lovely little shopping center and restaurants that are easily accessible by walking. The hotel itself the rooms were very clean and were upgraded the exterior. The hotel seemed dated. There was convenient parking and it is in a safe area. It is also walkable to the historic wharf.

This is a very quaint and picturesque hotel right on the wharf. The rooms are all decorated in a nautical theme, and check in with Crystal was speedy and efficient, plus true customer service, from simple directions to offering up an umbrella when we got a brief shower one of our days there. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful facility! The staff was friendly, and the room was very clean. My only complaint is that for a $500 per night room, the bed was horrible! I could feel every spring in our queen mattress. The Regatta Pub was terrible. I do not recommend eating there. Two of us ordered eggs Benedict and our eggs were extremely overcooked and the hollandaise sauce is nothing like I’ve ever seen or tasted. My husband ordered his eggs over easy and his were extremely overcooked as well. You’d can tell the ingredients used were frozen, not fresh. The pancakes appeared to be microwaved. I expected more for such a “fancy” expensive restaurant. I’m glad we chose to go our for dinner and waited until the morning of departure to eat at the pub.

This property was located in a wonderful area with plenty of options for dining and shopping. I loved the location. The problem was the A/C unit in my room was so lord and would startle me every time it came on. I didn’t sleep well either of the nights during my stay.

Front desk staff at check in wasn’t exactly friendly, on the phone with someone else while helping me. The beds was extremely worn out and the sheets were scratchy like a very cheap fabric. I guess overall it was “fine” but not really what I thought I was paying for.

Great location, easy parking
A bit pricey but it’s in a great location and one of the few hotels that includes parking. Walkable to the sites around town and the marina. Hotel still has single use plastics which I was disappointed by. Otherwise no complaints, it was a nice stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The hotel was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made my stay comfortable and relaxing. I really appreciated the attention to detail and the effort put into keeping the hotel clean.
One of the highlights of my stay was interacting with the helpful staff at the hotel's bar. They were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the local area. They made great recommendations for things to see and do in Salem, and I felt like they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable.
Another great aspect of the hotel is its proximity to a local brewery. Being able to easily visit a nearby brewery was a huge plus, and it made for a fun and memorable part of my trip.
Overall, I had a wonderful time staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Salem.

Hard mattress
The front desk clerk wasn't friendly. The bed was hard as a rock! Very uncomfortable. Heat was up high in the room and we couldn't adjust it.
