The room was dirty upon arrival, the bathroom had hair all over the place, in the shower, on the floor, in the sink. When I opened the fridge there was more hair....The floors had not been swept in what looked like a while and the wifi did not work the whole time I was there. I was very disappointed with this stay.

The price was very good for it being literally across the street from the beach/boardwalk. The hotel staff were very nice, check in was a breeze when we got there. The pool didnt seem too inviting and we never seen anyone in there..but your at the beach so we hadnt planned to use the pool anyway lol. The room wasnt terrible, especially considering the price but it could have been cleaned better. We could see the dirt/sand on the floor when we first got there. The bathroom however was cleaned good, the beds were clean also. Its not like crack head central there either so that was a big plus! Id stay again

Great price but I guess u get what u pay for. I get there to check-in, that went great but they put me in the wrong room. Went back to the office he didn’t give me no hassle giving what I reserved but the room was not like the pic on the app there was no full size refrigerator and the fan for cooking didn’t work so I had the give food away. The floor was nasty and the bathroom. The bed only had two pillows when there should be four per bed had to spend money on more pillows. I will never go back even if they gave me a free night. it wasn’t worth taking photos

First of all I will never come back to this establishment. First as soon as we walk in the room there was a moldy smell to it. We had to go to the dollar store and buy many cleaning supplies to make the room smell better. Second in the shower the tub fills with water way to quickly because it sinks in the middle to the water just stays there. Plus there’s mold. The pool hours are just dumb 11 am to 8 pm not even 12 hours. The management there will accuse you and walk in your room if they THINK you are stealing some pillows from them. The “manager “ walk in our room while we were taking everything else and demand to show her 4 pillows. Never did we even use them , we always carry our own and blankets. She then proceed to walk out the room when I sarcastically was counting the pillows for her. She didnt approach us nicely either. She was in OUR room with out kids. Nobody wants 20-30 year old dirty pillows and to accuse of stealing them. Management needs to do better and show them how to handle situations if they want to confront customers and not walk in the room automatically accusing us of stealing dirty pillows.

The room was dirty! Everything was broken. No latch on the door to lock it in the night time. Frame on the door was broken. Dresser drawers were broken. Hair dryer was broken. Blankets on the bed dirty and with holes. Bathroom towels were disgusting. Wanted to cancel and leave but unfortunately there were no vacant hotels near by/around.

When we arrived into our room there was hair in the bathtub and up near the shower head. The on/off handle for the water looked as if it would fall off. The window in the bathroom had black mold growing around it and our bed sheets had 2 blood stains.

Possibly worst hotel on Virginia beach. Very dirty rooms, poorly maintained , paint peeling from walls and floors worn out.
There were no towels or soap in the room. Finally towels were provided , but no soap. Management is not helpful.
Hotel is a health hazard.

NASTY!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND. JULY 2023!!!
We checked into our hotel this past Friday, June 30th. Upon arriving to the hotel, the outside looked dirty and the parking lot was empty. We got our room key which was left underneath the hotel welcome mat and went up to our room. The room had a terrible mold smell, the walls were dirty, floors felt and looked like they had never even been swept and then we checked the mattresses. The sheets were clearly molded, the mattress looked like it had previous blood stains on it and it was just nasty. I immediately went to the front desk and demanded a refund with photo proof where they argued with me for 30 minutes on why I wasn’t going to get a refund. Long story short, I ended up getting my money back and we went to a different hotel and got a room for the remainder of our stay.

Luckily we only stayed 1 night. Parking was tight. The young lady at check-in was nice and helpful. Then we got to our room. It had a "kitchenette" with no light, the microwave had not been cleaned in weeks(at least the fridge was working). One of the beds sheets had what looked liked rust stains on it. Of course we sprayed them with Microban and let it sit for a couple of hours. The bathroom sink faucet was spraying everywhere if you turned it on too high. The ceiling over the tub/shower had bubbles where water had build up. Then someone poked holes to let the water out, but didn't repair the holes. At least we had hot water. There was a washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod, trash in the can in the kitchenette and a Coca-Cola bottle top under the bed by the nightstand. At least the A.C. worked. All in all, I guess this is what we get for making last minute bookings. This was our 1st & LAST time staying at a Travel Lodge...JB(Richmond, VA)

Like the location very much. The place wasn’t clean floors were very dirty couldn’t leave anything on the floor my baby crawled while I was getting things unpacked and was covered in dirty and badly. After that couldn’t trust the floors. The bathroom wasn’t clean enough.

It's like your local trap house.
The floors were absolutely filthy. You can't walk around barefoot because the floors turn your feet black af. Half the outlets in the room didn't work and there was no signal for the TV. The pillowcases had black spots all over them so I didn't use them.
They do have a small glass stove top though in the small kitchen area which is cool.
But those floors. I can't get over how disgusting they are.

Well I wasted water on floor wiped it with a tissue and the tissue was black,the water barely got hot and there was some type of damage inside the bathtub plus it looked dirty so we couldn't shower the dresser drawers was broken and just laying there only one table stand the heat wouldn't stay on long had to keep getting up through the night to turn it up higher to try and warm the room up left way before check out time

They also hold a $50.00 dollar deposit. Posting here since they did not put that information on here. Saw a lot of “service animals” that were really not service animals. Oh I am deaf, so I have 6 service dogs who can obey and listen without voice commands.

Dangerous!!!
This hotel experience was dangerous; the check-in lobby seem to have been a makeshift redo with an awful lot of clutter behind the desk first sign bad experience. Hotel clerk took an awful long time to clear my reservation, upon receiving the wrong door key had to walk off three flights of stairs arriving at the room the key did not work. Try getting into the room for about 3 to 5 minutes went back down to the lobby police was sitting in the driveway. We see the second set of keys now the room is on the first floor entering the room there's no closet at this point because I was tired I should have reconsidered staying this was a very dangerous hotel experience could not and did not sleep. I will be listening to complaining to the City of Virginia Beach about my experience.

Staff was super nice, helpful, and accommodating. However, beware that no one is in office from 11pm to 8am. The rooms are very spacious on the 1st floor and beds not bad. But definitely need better bedding as it is just a sheet and a comforter as thick as a piece of paper. The water pressure was horrible but not the end of the world. It was nice to have a fridge and microwave since many hotels removed this amenity. Also, there are people that live at this hotel so keep that in mind.

A place I wouldn’t want to stay at again
Language barrier with the person at front desk. He charge the wrong card when I handed him the card he was supposed to charge. The room bedding had holes and stains the dresser was broken and missing drawers. There was sand all over the floor in the room.

Worst hotel ever
Did not have curtains to cover windows so anyone you’ll see us sleeping. Bed covers had burn holes and cuts. Manager said he couldn’t get curtain until day shift cam inane he wasn’t authorized to refund purchase.

When I booked the property it showed a kitchenette with a stove top and a counter and a refrigerator and a microwave. When we arrived there was a piece of plywood and a small dirty microwave was sitting on top of a small refrigerator.The floor was sandy and the bathtub was dirty. We did not receive daily housekeeping. Disappointed.

Totally rundown and not like the photos at all.
The building, rooms, pool and all other areas of this site are very run down and dirty. The bathroom is full of mold and rusted bathtub, cracked sink and mold on the window. The bed covers were stained and there were lots of holes in the walls and chipped or missing paint.

This motel was way overpriced and because of that, deceiving. There was a hole in the wall. Most of the lamps didn’t work. The TV worked for a little while and then the sound went out. The bathroom sink was partially clogged. It was a bit scary to stay here.

Staff is very nice. Room is clean, there is smell of bleach when we reach there, I have to open the door to let fresh air, after a few hour, it is good.
Location is good, but is not at beach side. it's one block away from beach.

Terrible, there was big hole in the curtain, curtain was not properly hooked up, room can be peeked from outside, the light has no bulb, floor was wooded and can experience lots of dirt while walking barefoot, bathroom tub has rust. Coffee machine was dirty,

Not worth the price!
The hotel was not worth the discounted price Hotels.com offered. There were only 2 hand towels and washcloths at check-in for 3 people. The front desk clerk gave 2 stained towels and said, "That's all I have." The sheets and coverlets on both beds had stains of red and brown on them. The bathroom was a mess! No toilet paper holder, broken toilet seat and shower curtain that was hung at an angle that it would stay open in the center so the floor would get soaked and slippery, not that you would want to put your feet on the tile. I would not recommend staying here. It needs an overhaul.

Great staff !
My family visits here 2 times a year! We love the staff ! Mary is very special to our family and always looks after us. She does an amazing job! When we see her it’s like visiting an old friend ! Office and maintenance are wonderful as well!

Front desk was rude and racist I reached at 1:00 pm was told room will be ready an hour later.
Checked in two white ladies at same time. I Came back after 1.5 hours to check, was again told half an hour more. Returned at 3:45 pm I am told check is at 4:00 pm. Shamelessly while checking in other guests.
He could have simply said the first time to come back at 04:00 pm. Why this harassment ?

The hotel was disgusting it smelled like smoke it was not clean the bedding the floor was dirty the room had not been dusted half of the plug-ins in the rooms did not work the walls look like they had not been cleaned I cannot give a good review on this hotel they really need to update this place but I can say that the housekeeper did help me out as best as she could and the front desk person did help me out as best as he could other than that I cannot give it any stars

The room was semi-clean. The stove was filthy. There were no towels in the room. The bathroom has mold in the shower. The beds only had one pillow. We had to go down to the desk to get towels to use for showers. The ice machine doesn’t work. No blankets in the room.

Room was durty. Had no blankets, dresser broken, could not take bath because plug did not work, shower water pressure was low, free breakfast was nothing but nasty coffee and nasty juice. The place even looked run down when pulling in parking lot. Would never stay there again.

Wonderful stay. First floor room was newly renovated. Bright, clean, very spacious. Tiled area for sandy chairs and coolers and floors were waterproof hardwood flooring. Perfect for coming in with wet swimsuits and sand from the beach. Less than 5 minute walk to ocean.

There was a small fire in a room and they didnt even have fire extinguisher near by. There were holders, but no equipment. Which is very strange.
They don't clean the rooms during your stay.
Biggest complain is maintenance, they dont seem to care about the property or guests. Its just as it is. You stay if you like it.
you can hear lot of road noise inside the room.
Overall would recommend for the location, convenience and price if you are not too picky about the room conditions.

Absolutely the WORST Hotel Experience
This was the WORST experience I have ever had!
After checking in, we heard incredibly loud constant yelling, cursing and what sounded like fighting from next door. After about an hour of this, we went to the front office and asked for help. The man at the front desk would not help. We turned the TV back on but the yelling and fighting were loader than the TV. We went back to the office and asked to be moved. The man at the desk unapologetically said he could not move us. We then called Hotels.com to see if we could switch to another property. The operator at Hotels.com contacted the hotel office and convinced them to move us. As we were moving, the desk manager locked the office and left while we were opening the door to the new room.
The second room was incredibly dirty and there were ROACHES everywhere! There was no knob on the bathroom door and NO HOT WATER. There was only1 dirty towel. The TOILET WOULD NOT FLUSH and threatened to overflow when we tried to flush dead roaches!
We moved to a 3rd room in the morning. Not as bad but still HORRIBLE...there was a hole in the wall and the door would not lock... but not as many roaches.
I have never had to switch room once let alone twice. This place should be condemned!

DO NOT STAY.
This was by far the worst stay I ever stayed. The first room they gave us we walk in the first thing we see ROACHES. Initially back to the office asked for another room. The second room same thing we were on a different floor opposite ends as well. The third and final room the roaches didn't come out until later after 12. mind you we first checked in at 6. The bathroom was disgusting didn't feel comfortable showering, didn't feel comfortable going in there at all. We just went to bed I woke up at 5 and it was roaches everywhere on everything at that point I just left no check out just went to my car and drove couldn't stay in that place another second. The only reason that this place is still open is because of its location and walking distance to the beach. NEVER AGAIN!!! THEY NEED TO SERIOUSLY SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN.

Avoid unless you are insane
I wish i could say something nice about this place but i can't. It is a disgusting run down place. I regret going cheap and staying here. I actually left after one night forfeiting my second night it was so bad. Unsafe, no light Fixture in the bathroom (seriously?? Us the light from the hall. Cant see in there. Bathroom wondow had no lock. I had to use the bible to semi-block the window track amd maybe slow down any burglers. No maid service. Bed felt dirty. I felt something crawl on my leg in the night.

Weird check in hours & rude manager!
The lobby hours are NOT posted on hotels.com website. They told me an hour after I booked and 40 mins before their lobby hours closed that I had to be there by 11PM to check in. When I tried to talk to the manager, she hung up on me! I’ve never had an experience like this with a hotel on the beach. Be careful, they’re greedy apparently.

The clerk was on a personal call on her cell phone when I went to check in and would not check me in until she was finished with her call. I couls hear her entire conversation since she had it on speaker phone. The beds were very uncomfortable.

Roach Inn
What a dive. They should level the entire place. Sticky surfaces, not enough towels although you dont need them because I wouldn’t bath my dog in that tub. Something growing behind the faucet. If you leave the light off in the bathroom, all the cockroaches come out. No refund available so had to spend the night. Didn’t even brush my teeth the next morning. Had to get out of there.
