Love how close it is to the beach. Sadly hot water in the morning was nonexistent. Told property manager about major hole in the wall apon arrival and was flipped out on for making sure we were not charged for damage. Room was clean but as for newly renovation i do not see where. Manger needs to readjust her attitude

My biggest issue was the price and going in the room and seeing roaches. Yea the saying goes “you get what you pay for” BUT I have been in other hotels at the same price in the same area and are clean and roach free. I only stayed and didn’t complain to front desk bc they stay was on an emergency basis.

As soon as we pulled up the environment looked grimey. Our room had roaches on the floor crawling, motel is run down, ghetto looking and bed sheet had obvious stains on it. Only thing good about the motel is distance to beachfront but desparate need of a makeover and new ownership. Slum motel.

The registration clerk came out her room to greet me after leaving a sign on the door to call if you need her services very agitated and nonchalant . She claimed to not have my seem my pre booked accommodations which i received a confirmation and showed her . We finally discovered she over booked the room I have purchased and was full to capacity . I was left to look for a new room 1am after driving 3 hours for vacation on a holiday weekend. I ended up sleeping in my vehicle that night . I wouldn’t recommend this place to house a dog !

I loved that I had a place to lay my head. Other then that the worker was rude af. The motel in its self wasn’t cleaned. I get motels aren’t supposed to be fancy and you can’t expect much. But I would expect a clean bathroom with clean sheets. Let alone when I asked for more towels the lady questioned me…

Give the place a chance, you wont regret it!!
I dont know why there are some many bad reviews. This place was awesome! It was clean and very convenient for distant.
The beach right down the street. Food and bars near by. Wonderful pizza spots. The people tha work there was helpful and cool to deal with. We felt very much at home and will definitely stay here again

Tina was officiant. Everyday she asked if I needed anything. She was answering phones, cleaning rooms, booking rooms! She's the one man band n deserves the world 🌎. I will be back next year n I'm bringing my family

I cant say anything good about this property. The manager was rude and unprofessional. The stairs were broke. There were roaches everywhere. I called management when i noticed them and she said walmart is closed what do you want me to do. Not sure what the proper steps woumd be but calling exterminator might be first step to fixing problem. Had to leave in middle of night with 4yr old because the roaches. I'm not sure how they are on Expedia but called Expedia was on phone for 3hrs nothing got resolved. I booked through Expedia but when there was a problem they were no help. But im sure they got their money from us booking the room.

The building is old . And there is a lot of needed maintenance. One stairs was closed due to unsafe stairs . It’s falling apart . Also this motel has roaches !!!! This property could be fixed up so nice and cute . But it needs a lot of work . And please please do something about the roaches

THIS IS NO HOTEL. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ONLINE PHOTOS. IT IS A motel and better stays at a Motel 6.
I think people book here cause it's close to beach. But it is so awful. Not worth 500.00. Not worth 69.99. Glad I never have to see this place again.

The location is close to Atlantic Ave. Sadly they said it was new renovated.. paint job was not the greatest and they screwed cabinets closed. The ice machine was actually working this time which was a plus and room was clean. Unfortunately if you want a hot shower it didnt get hot at all...

Management was unprofessional and rude! It says “renovated” in the booking but IT IS NOT! Rusty cabinets, old pillows and old furniture like recycled from an office. White towels and bed sheets are way beyond their life use and have a cream dirty like color. I won’t ever stay again

I’m beyond displeased with my stay at the white Marlin inn. From start to finish my experience was unpleasant, from a visible robbery at the 7/11 next door and being told “that just happens over here.” Then being checked into a room with a gunshot in the window leaking cold rainy air. A door that wouldn’t fully shut or latch all the way and an odor of bleach that reminded you of a pet store. There was dead roaches under the bed and next to the mini fridge. Ripped out light fixtures, a tv that didn’t turn on, and the ax the leaked a horrendous smell. Worst hotel experience.

You get what you pay for. Cheap motel close to the beach, don’t expect to be staying in your room much. It’s acceptable for bare necessities, but unless you’re scrapped for cash, spend more and get better.

Not as bad as the other reviews say it is.
Overall it was a good stay for the price you’re paying and proximity to the strip and oceanfront. People on here on other reviews are expecting 4 or 5 star hotel conditions you get what your pay for a place to sleep, free parking, internet and proximity to popular places.

The worst place to stay EVER!!!
I needed somewhere just for the night. The room had bugs. Tape holding the door handle so no lock. No staff was around to check us in. i have allergies to smoke so i requested a non smoking room and they gave me a room that smelled like an ash tray. The refrigerator was beyond rusted on the outside more like corroding. The walls had mold everything looked like it was falling apart. I stayed in my car due to allergies and the next morning the Manager and the cleaning lady were both smoking cigarettes in every room while they cleaned them. The most disgusting and falsified advertisement ever. Truly disgraceful. you couldn’t pay me to stay there and i have been to many hotels motels this in va beach for over 20 years and never experienced anything this treacherous!

No office personnel in office @check in. Had to call on phone. They were on property. No phone in the room. Couldn't get TV to work. Light bulbs missing from lamps and heat lamp in bathroom. Paint cracked and chipped all over. Badly run down inside and out. I would not recommend.

This place was a complete dump! The stairway to get on the second floor had rotten wood. No door lock, missing lampshades, blown lightbulbs, no parking, dirty sheets, broken window curtains, which rusty fridge, leaky bathroom faucet, and dirty toilet. I Felt like I was going to get bedbugs bite just sitting in a chair in the room.It literally felt like I was pulling into a rundown apartment complex because people were out hanging out on the balcony overlooking the parking lot. The one office staff that work there was not available in the office as she was cleaning a room and there is no answer for the telephone in order to reach someone. Luckily we spotted her in the room cleaning. Do not stay at this motel.

Property was poorly maintained. Curtains were falling off the hooks at each end. I bought some safety pins and pinned the curtain in place such that privacy was established. Some past restoration was unsafely done. Example: Ceramic floor tiles in the entire Room 100 were dangerously slippery when wet. Uncertain whether this was wax applied on the ceramic or an oil slick coating the floor. The room wiring was unsafe, showing extension cords for what should be permanent wiring. Wiring extensions were wrapped in loops, bundles, looking very unprofessional, even amateurish. One receptacle would not provide a tight plugin connection. Definitely unsafe.
Front door knob lock was the only room lock. Safety chain was nonfunctional, missing one end. No deadbolt. Questionable room security.
I will say the place was as clean as could be managed, water tasted fine, microwave and fridge worked. Temperature control of the room was working.
Would I stay there again? Even with that great price, I don't think so.

Pros: my reservation got canceled but the staff was able to book me a room. The lady at check in was friendly.
Unfortunately that is the only good thing about the motel.
Cons: the pictures on expedia don't match what the motel looks like. Things were falling apart in our room. We stayed for two nights and on the second night I woke up to a cockroach on my face.
This was our first time in Virginia Beach and we were very disappointed.

The room could have been cleaner. There was no coffee pot, and the curtain wouldn't close. The two women running the place were nice and helpful. I took the room for the cost. At that cost I shouldn't expect more.

So it turns out the reason they don’t charge as much as the surrounding properties is because the roaches that live there actually pay rent. Bruh, the roachiest of all the roach motels. Only stay here if you’re doing crimes and drugs. I woke up early in the morning and killed at least a dozen roaches, before even stepping out if bed. Then I almost tripped down the stairs to my death on the actual nail sticking out of the wooden stairs. It should be illegal to operate this place. The staff are understandably rude because they have to assume you’re a criminal or drug addict for staying there. Being nice will get them robbed. If you have any dignity you’ll sleep on the street before staying here.

This property was the worst property I have ever seen. We stayed there a total of 5 mins before leaving with our child. It is unsafe and unfit for any normal person to stay own. The top locks on all the doors are broken as well and seems like the people that are there do drugs. Would not recommend at all.

The hotel looks nothing like the pictures, it is a very unsafe hotel and the room was terrible, roaches came out in groups from under the box spring during the day time, the room also has bed bugs and was very unclean the door didn’t shut completely and didn’t lock properly, please do not stay here and do not be fooled by the pictures shown on the ads for this hotel because this place deserves 0 stars (this room was so bad I didn’t spend the night)

Tried to check in when I first got to town, but there was nobody available to check in with (waited 30 minutes and tried to call the number on the door). Came back late in the afternoon and there was nobody there again (but there was a back soon note on the door this time). Finally showed up 30 minutes later. The stay was about what I expected from a cheap motel (loud neighbors, slightly run down rooms, threadbare towels, and no shampoo), but relatively clean for that.

This place says it's been renovated. What is exactly renovated? This is by far the worst motel experience I've ever had and i'm not one who complains. It stinks, is run down, the bed is too soft and uncomfortable and the hot water wasn't running when I got there. I ended up sleeping in my van.
