Just outside of walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg, Country Inn was still conveniently situated.
Staff was helpful,
Breakfast was good: waffle machine, eggs and sausage, etc., but mad rush for food and people that can't clean up after themselves.
Rooms were fine, generally clean (don't expect spotless), the microwaves don't get cleaned every time I feel.
Overall it's par for the course at this price point.

Provided my own housekeeping-not pleased
Arrived to find the sheets were disgustingly dirty - black marks on the pillow cases and unmentionable stains on the sheets. Was offered new sheets which I had to change. Was not offered any discount or anything.

Rude staff
Front staff was not friendly. Only received one towel for three people. Accidentally left my water bottle in my room. Front desk was very rude about going back to get it. When we called they said it wasn’t turned in. So we went back to the hotel and asked if we can go get it. The lady at the desk acted angry that we wanted it back.

The whole hotel felt dirty and had a strange smell. Chairs in the reception area had stains and dried food marks all over them, and in the elevator, there were poorly constructed handrails around the interior.
I doubt the hallways had been vacuumed in the last few days. Our room had clearly not been cleaned thoroughly since the last guest either. There was debris not vacuumed on the floor, dirt and hairs around the bath, there were hairs in the beds, thick marks where a cup had been next to the sink and toothpaste splatter on the bathroom mirror.
The staff apologized and moved us to another room which was a little cleaner, and by this point our children were falling asleep, so we had no choice but to stay. If we could have left I would have. It was shockingly bad.
I will never stay in this hotel again! Avoid if you have a choice!!

We had an issue with one room not being ready, but the front desk quickly and kindly moved us. All of the staff were very kind. The rooms were basic but clean and the hot breakfast was tasty. It’s great to have a dog friendly option like this. No complaints!

Hidden fees
Apparently there were a bunch of hidden fees … I have seen $54 in fees that I am completely unaware of or was not mentioned and there are still another $49 in fees pending.

My Wife and I arrived and upon entering our room we noticed a very musty smell like mold. We placed our luggage down and immediately noticed the blanket on the bed had various stains. This prompted us to take a closer look and what we found was disgusting. The bed had dried up stuff on it of unknown origin and the pillows had stains as well and one of the pillows had what appeared to be drool/snot/booger on it. We took pictures of all of this and gathered our luggage to immediately check out. When we went downstairs I asked for a manager to discuss the issues and to show them what we found and to ask for a refund. We were told there was no manager on duty and nobody there could help in a refund. We left and scrambled to find another place to stay. I will try to call the hotel when we return from our trip and also talk to Expedia about a refund. We have pictures to show to anyone interested. We did not look further into the cleanliness, or lack thereof, of the room. The clerk was very kind and is the best thing about the hotel from our experience. Stay away from this place. Bodily fluids left on the bed is not ok.

Me and my family like the chain of Country Inn and Suites when we travel because we usually have a good experience. We stayed at this hotel a few times in the past and had a good experience but this time the air conditioning was loud, one of our bed sheets had blood on it, the towels in the bathroom were dirty, and the breakfast wasn’t as good as it usually is. The carpet on our room could have used a shampoo and the beds were hard as rocks. The staff were friendly though.

We were there for a three night stay Dec 7ththrough the 10th. It was very clean. The staff was very friendly. I was late for breakfast on Friday morning. There was a young girl cleaning. She was so friendly. She even offered to go back in the kitchen and cook something else. I told her is was fine we would eat somewhere else. Just thought that was very nice

Roaches, mouse poop, and more.
Hotel room they gave me had multiple roaches crawling around, even in the bed. Also found mouse droppings in one the of the corners. Checked underneath the bed and someone’s sock was left behind and multiple roach traps! So they knew the room they gave me had a roach issue and decided to put me in there anyway. Also the trash wasn’t taken out in one of the little trash cans but I can live with that. They did give me a new room, but that one had candy on the floor and strange stains on the wall but at least no roaches that I could find. Last thing I feel like dealing with after a 4 hour drive is to have to repack all my stuff and change rooms due to bugs and uncleanliness . I recommend to stay else where.

Booked and paid for the 3 bed family suite. Checked in and went to my room. Opened the door and all three beds were it made and had old sheets. There were used dirty towels on the bathroom floor.

Got a room and walked in to find someone was already in the room. Bed unkept and TV on. The staff was extremely receptive and apologetic and did not hesitate to refund our money. That said, it was scary that we were not only given a room with someone inside but the thought that we could also be given a room and have someone walk in on us was very disturbing. The staff claimed nobody should have been in that room so the security at this place is non-existent. There is an abandoned building right next to the property.

Our room was nice and clean. The common public areas were not well kept. Lots of debris in the hallway, dirty elevator, and worn carpet in the hallways. Breakfast was nice. Overall an average stay, the price was a fair value.

Check-in was a breeze. The hotel is well located and very close to restaurants and gas station. Very friendly staff and good selection for thw breakfast. Although they were sold-out, they still managed to accommodate us for a late check out. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Stayed here with my family to busch garden trip. Experience was average i would not expect any better for this hotel. First room we got the bathtub is clogged, move to 2nd room and this time the room smells like smoke/cigarettes, move again to another floor but this time room is great. Staff is every apologetic and understanding. The hotel just need more cleaning or refreshness. Thank you for the owner letting me charge my car during the stay.

The room was decrepit. No hot water to shower. You get what you pay for, but I really expected better cleanliness, a comfortable bed, and hot water in the morning. It was disappointing. I won't stay there again.

I wasnt told till after i checked in the they were replacing the water heater and no hot water was available. Next morning iasked the desk as i went to breakfast. Valve burst, no hot water.. Next day, no hot water.
I was not happy. The hotel did refund my money for the 2 day stay.

The rooms are not very clean. I rented 3 rooms total for my family. The bathroom in my room had hair in the shower and the floor was extremly dirty. The griple sheet the beds, meaning clean sheets and in the center a duvet insert thag is not washed after every guest. The sheets were worn and dingy. There were stains down the walls. The bed skirts had white splatters all over them.

The only positive statement I can make about this property was its proximity to the event I was in town for. Only one of the three beds in the suite had a mattress protector on it.(I ALWAYS check beds in any hotel I stay in.) They instead included dog hair on at least one of those two without protectors.(I don’t own a dog and am in fact mildly allergic.) Additionally, the floor obviously was not vacuumed well after that dogs stay because there were plenty of the kibble/pellets of food still lying around the room. *Traveling with five teenagers it would have been great to have two showers, however perhaps I just did not read details thoroughly. Only one of the two bathrooms in the suites is equipped with a shower. So be aware the suites are 1 and 1/2 bathrooms.
Not that I would recommend a stay here for those who care about sanitary conditions and/or decent hygiene.

I would not recommend this hotel. It’s not around anything. It’s remote which makes it feel sketchy. You can tell they tried to update it but failed. Even the lamppost outside is falling over. Our room was sleepable, but that’s it. The bathroom had black mold around the shower. The counter was dirty. I didn’t even want to use it. The phone looked like it was from 1900 and there was no clock. It was also noisy and had a weird smell.

Over riced for what it was a basic hotel room.
Nice check in with clerk staff, friendly.
Asked if we had a dog, we did not and she put us in a room that had a dog/ pet odor in it. Room looked clean. Bathroom was tiny. Beds were hard. Fine for an overnight.

AC sounds like it is broken, had to turn it off so my family can sleep. Doors wont closed. I had to clearn to hair in shower drainaged. one of the "cleaned" tower has skidmark.

Perfect place for a low key weekend.
I booked this hotel and forgot to read the reviews. I read them the night before my trip and saw a bunch of negative ones, so i packed my stuff and prepared for the worst, i just needed somewhere to sleep for one night. When i got to the hotel, the staff was friendly, it was clean, i was satisfied with the room. My group and i were so confused as to where the negative reviews came from, but apparently some people weren’t as pleased. If you’re just trying to have a laid back, mediocre weekend and you’re looking for a decently priced place to eat and sleep in the Williamsburg area, i recommend this place. Low key wish we would’ve stayed an extra night.

This facility was very run down. Our door to the bathroom would not close without a lot of force. There were ants everywhere. The mattresses were worn out to where you would sink to the middle. Many electrical safety concerns. We went with a group and many of the rooms smelled musty. Overall, this is not a place we would stay again.

Newly renovated and in a great location. Front desk staff was great and breakfast was very hearty- waffles, eggs, potatoes, sausage. Room was clean and bedding seemed new- bathroom looked nice but was obviously not brand new- great shower. The ice machine on our floor was broken but we found one on the next floor. Nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room.

the elevator was sticky and smelled like urine, the carpets were covered in weird massive stains. the paint of the walls and ceilings were peeling and the cleanliness of the room was questionable. we had until noon to checkout, but someone tried coming into our room between 9 and 11 multiple times without knocking. they used their key card to access the room and gave up when the internal door stopper prevented them from coming in. the front desk was very friendly and helpful. the tv didn’t work and was stuck on one screen the whole time

Good price for the area
We've stayed here a couple of times and it's always clean with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is good. Pool is outside, so its only open seasonally. No hot tub. The entrance could use a little bit of leveling to make it easier to get a wheelchair in and out of. Other than that, we really like this place.

Property was average but our room seemed damp. Ie carpet and sheets. Seemed it was recently steamed cleaned or something but linen and floor was damp. Overall decent stay and great location for Busch Gardens.
