I was on a layover due to an overnight flight delay. I just needed a comfortable bed and a place with a nice feeling to it, and that's what I got. The amenities were good, and the front desk clerk and the shuttle driver (the only two staff members I had occasion to interact with) were great. If I ever have a similar circumstance, I certainly will stay at this Sonesta.

Nice place to stay
Overall, this was a great hotel for us. The hotel is set up kind of like apartments, with two stories and multiple buildings. We stayed in a King suite that had a bedroom, closet (walk in), dressing area, bathroom/shower, kitchen, and living room (with a sleeper sofa). It was very comfortable and functional and in good shape. Parking was easy and close. Breakfast was free and adequate, but not super delicious. The only issue was the thinness of the walls and the noise we could hear from one neighbor and their barking dog. The hotel is within a mile of a metro stop and a shopping area with a number of restaurants, CVS, fast food, banks, 7-11, etc. We would stay here again.

Property is easy to get to, the staff is really nice and the breakfast was great for a "free" breakfast But My room had a rug which looks to be from the 70s and felt crusty to walk on, the heating was wonky switched to cool at 68 and heat at 69 where i got cold at 68 but then woke up sweating at 69 and every time the heat came on, the suction would make my door rattle making it feel like someone was trying to open my door. I didn't sleep well :(

I like the prompt services and the cleanliness of the room I stayed. The front desk was cordial and friendly. The only concern was chairs need to changed for eating meals, they are too low for comfort while eating in room. I will definitely stay during future visits.

Room very clean. Room is next to mechanical room. Continuous loud banging noise all night. Was up most of the night. Very bad water pressure or shower head is clogged.

This is a convenient location with nice rooms, good television, and shopping and dining options within walking distance. Another plus is that use of the laundry machines is free. I do wish that the airport shuttle ran more frequently and that there were more menu items for breakfast.

Smelly and outdated
I don’t know why this hotel had good reviews. Room smelled awful and windows didn’t seem to securely latch so given that windows and doors open to the outside I didn’t feel safe. Bed was comfy but that was the only good thing. Figured out the next morning that the carpet in the closet was completely soaked so that’s where the awful mildew smell must have come from. Room seemed dated as well. Lyft from Dulles was about $30.

Stay there started out ok. On the second night, someone plugged the alarm clock in and roaches came out. Both people in the room woke up in the middle of the night with bugs crawling on them. People at the front desk blew us off. Checked out a day early and stayed elsewhere. We stay here for business once a year, and frequent other Sonesta locations. We always had great experiences here. Will continue to use Sonestas in other cities, but not this one again

The amenities and cleanliness inside were excellent. However, some of the guests smoked outside, in the parking lot, and the main room in the suite was filled with tobacco smoke during my entire stay on the second floor.

I expected more
There were quite a few issues with the room. It smelled like marijuana which was strange. When they cleaned the room, it smelled more like marijuana, the bathroom vent was on high and the made all of the carpet soaking wet for some reason. It was very strange. Breakfast was very below average.

Poor experience.
They were unable to find my reservation through Hotels.com. Even when they found it, check in took 20 minutes. There is no elevator, so had to carry suitcases upstairs. They said the shuttle could take me to the rental car pickup. It couldn't. Dated property in iffy repair.

Me hospede 1 semana aqui con mi familia, los precios buenos, rentamos una suite con 2 habitaciones y 2 baños. El espacio para nosotros estuvo bien, es un hotel relativamente viejo, hay animalitos como hormigas en los baños. Queda mas o menos a 35 min de Washington, pero estuvo bien porque queriamos ahorrar y para eso esta ok 👍, no se nos perdio nada, el lugar parece seguro. SI UD ES MUY EXIGENTE NO SE QUEDE, nosotros somos relajados y estuvimos bien, wolo deberian fumigar para evitar esos animalitos. Pero por el precio pues.... digamos que sabiamos que no seria perfecto

It would've been nice for a representative to show me the location of the room, instead of figuring it out on my own. After travelling for hours on multiple flights, the last thing that i want to do is to search for a room at 10pm on a Sunday night, and having to leave at 3 am. Thats not ideal, and was not appreciated. Something to consider moving forward.

Sonesta suites was perfectly located in a quiet neighborhood close to restaurants and grocery stores as well as the airport. The suite was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat as there was a kitchenette provided. A wine opener would be a great addition to the kitchen.

Our room had candy left on the floor, beer cans inside cabinets, in fridge and inside pull out bed. Stove barely work and maintenance guy caught an attitude when he got to the room to look at it. He was Very short, dismissive and didn’t want to hear what was going on with the stove. Not many options with the complimentary breakfast. The outside sitting areas where trashy from guest not cleaning up behind themselves.
Overall an ok place to just to lay your head real quick if passing through.

What's not to love about this property? It was spacious for a family of 5, quiet, close to the airport & metro stations. But most importantly it provided us exactly what we needed after a long flight from Africa. The hotel desk representatives were so kind to check us in very early to our hotel where we got some much needed rest. We cannot recommend this hotel enough!

2nd Rate Apartment Complex
The hotel on approach looks nice, once there it was apparent it is housing people more as an apartment type of complex. The landscape was a bit worn, but it was concerning to see the number of people hanging around outside, children's toys and bikes outside of units, chalk drawings on exterior building surfaces. My room was fine, but I felt very uncomfortable with the property and the type of clientele. As an extended stay type of inn, it feels more like a second rate apartment complex.

A reasonable value. Provided a good breakfast. Shuttle from and to the airport was provided quickly after request. Shuttle drivers and front-desk clerks were friendly and helpful.
There were a few maintenance problems, including a sliding (pocket) bathroom door which wouldn't close completely, and a toilet handle which was very loose (the latter a nit-pick)

After staying at another Sonesta, I figured This one would be just as good, but I was very wrong. I could not leave fast enough. Extremely noisy both day and night. Music blasting after 11pm, kids running up and down screaming starting at 9am. People smoking weed and drinking in groups. The room itself: sofa needed to be thrown out. Toaster oven sparked. Showers were good and beds were ok. No elevators so if you have heavy luggage and you're on the upper floor you're screwed. Some of the rooms had personal furniture outside the door meaning people were definitely living there. Did not feel safe and will never return

Do not stay here!
1. Internet here is terrible, there are no ethernet connections in the rooms, you have to sign in through a captive portal, and you'll have to call support to get your devices actually allowed and usable on the network. Oh, and your connection will drop out.
2. There is almost no cell service here! Don't plan on using your phone's internet because it will be incredibly slow if it works at all.
3. Front door to my room had a large gap. This meant that all the sounds and smells came right into my room, and yes, the guests in the room(s) next to me were loud, smoking pot, drunk, and generally awful people. I asked to switch rooms, and was told there was only one other room available. I started bringing my luggage to the new room, only to realize it had been heavily smoked in, so I went back to the first room with the door gap.
4. Many of the parking spaces are not big enough for SUVs, and good luck getting even a regular-sized sedan out of the cramped lot if an SUV is parked across from you. I actually couldn't get out of my parking space at one point because of oversized SUVs, and the front desk person come out and set off the car alarm on a guest's vehicle so that they would come out and move it. Which brings me to my next point:
5. This place doesn't register or take down your license plate number, so if there is a problem (like above), they have no idea whose car is whose.

Only place I stay at when visiting Northern Va
I am a single lady that travels frequently. I must say I felt 100% safe here. It is like your own private apartment away from all the chaos of northern Virginia. Cant hear neighbors and there were 3 little kids next door. Breakfast was decent, and just love this place! Great stay, Thank you once again.

Clean, modern, and spacious room, at a fair price.
Pleasantly surprised by the size of the accomodations. It had a nice kitchen area, small livingroom area and a separate bedroom with a spacious bathroom. It was modern, and clean. I was traveling with my dog, and there was no problems with keeping him in the room. They did charge $25 per night extra. The breakfast was was adequate. The location is near Washington Dulles airport. For the price I paid, $132 per night plus tax, I would definitely recommend it, and would not hesitate stay there again.

The general Manager Mr. Chuan was very attentive to all guest. I observed how he treated others, other than myself. I’m pleased and will be returning.
Rooms are clean, a little outdated but the bedding bathrooms are up to date. Awesome kitchen, with 2 pots 1 pan. Plenty of cups, plates and silverware! as a truck driver this was pretty darn great.
VERY pet friendly as well!

There was INCORRECT information provided to me by the hotel. I had queried them about the airport shuttle and was told it ran from 7 am to 9 pm.
On checking in, I asked for a place on the 7 am airport shuttle, and was told that on Saturday and Sunday, the shuttle only starts at 9 am--this will now do, as my international flight is at 10 am. Now I have to pay for a taxi. I would have chosen another hotel with shuttle schedule that fits my needs.

We have stayed at this hotel before with my husband, my son and I and our two pups. Usually we get a great room with the two bedrooms and the living room kitchen combo. I understand that when you bring pups the rooms aren’t gonna be like the best. for example, the carpet might be a little stained. It might smell a dog, but this time they put us in the worst of the worst rooms not only did it smell like smoke, and every day once we got to the room and went to bed, my eyes were very itchy and watery because of the smoke. Whoever was there previously smoked in the room smelled of smoke the carpet was more than stained. It was disgusting. We were missing chairs from the room. People outside were being loud and smoking and carrying on late at night so this time our experience wasn’t the best the people at the front desk were nice though they helped us they were friendly, breakfast was just OK the last time we were there it was definitely a lot better.

I requested a room with one king bed, wound up getting a room with two queen beds, which is no big deal in and of itself, however, the second room had no heat so my son slept in a room in the middle of winter with no heat. Also, there were pubic hairs in one of the showers. I woke up the next morning with bites on my hands. I told the desk manager about all of this and all he did was say I’m sorry. I felt disgusting leaving the room after all of that. The pictures on Expedia look absolutely nothing like the room that we got. The room we got reminded me of a dark, dank, motel room, where is the pictures on the site look like a light and airy room. Very very misleading.

Room much nicer than pictured on reservation. Rec'd a suite instead. No discussion of why, just surprised when we got into it. Nice for our granddaughter to have her own room and bath. Weren't there long enough to take advantage of the kitchenette.
Convenient to conference we were attending.
Breakfast started a little later than we've had elsewhere, but it opened promptly and it worked for our schedule this trip. Hot foods were limited to breakfast sandwiches, but otherwise plenty of food for our needs.

This property is decent and close to the airport; however, the shuttle bus has a limited-service time, especially at the weekend. Check the hotel before you book if the shuttle bus is available at your arrival time.

At 11:00 PM someone opened my door, so a card key to my room was clearly given to another guest who was as startled as I was. Luckily I had the security latch on.
That was inexcusable. This was after I had to go back to the front desk after I initially checked in because the card key did not work. It also appeared that long-term (as in monthly) renters were staying there which creates a much different character. Would not stay here again.

The property was perfect for my family trip. We have a loved one in rehab and a death in our family. This was a working trip. The property was clean, personnel was polite and helpful. The three of us each had a comfortable bed, and there were two full bathrooms. Also… an equipped kitchenette and common area. It is NOT luxurious, it’s clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again.
