Refrigerator is not plug in. The light switch by the entrance does not work. Don't like to walk into a dark room.
The small patch of the carpet is ripped.

Newly Renovated
Check in was fast and efficient. Desk clerks were warm and inviting. Gave me a room close to office and directly across from Cracker Barrel. Rooms must have been recently renovated cause I stayed here two years ago and they were definitely in need of an update. The room was clean and in very good shape. Bed was very comfortable. Walked over to Cracker Barrel for dinner, came back to room and relaxed. Breakfast was better than expected with scrambled eggs and bacon. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Carpet in room was dirty, I was surprised how much dirt was on my white socks after waking around for a short time. Since I stayed here last a few years back, good effort to improve the room with refurbishing.

I called down to say my tv was not working the front desk person said he send someone right up. Did not happen for two hours. When asked the next morning about getting something off my bill the said a manager would have to do it and they would not be in till the next day

Great front desk staff! Very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean in spite of shabby furniture and linens. Budget friendly price comes at a cost, an old dated room. That said, staff was first rate.

Just okay this time!!
This was the first time I ever had a problem. The first room that I was in, there was an infestation of spiders. I killed about 6 of them for the short time that I was in the room. I knew I wouldn’t be able to get to sleep, because I killed one crawling on the bed and then one dropped down in my face while I was laying on the bed. That’s when I took a walk over to the front desk to complain. The young man on duty was very understanding and changed the room that we were in. The next room was a lot better and I didn’t see any more problems. I had used this hotel for the last 7 years traveling back and forth to New York from Georgia round trip. Virginia was our halfway point to sleep overnight. I have noticed that in the last two years or so that there are more people hanging around outside their rooms or sitting on the stairs. Sort of loitering. This stay was my last time staying here. I had a reservation to return that I canceled, because I don’t feel comfortable staying here anymore. The front desk has always been very friendly and accommodating from checking in to checking out. I will miss the convenience of having Cracker Barrel in walking distance from the hotel.

Our room was a mess mold in the bathroom- paint coming off on the bathroom wall. Bed sheets and comforter had holes in them, reserved a non smoking room cigarette burns on the sink-wall paper falling off - the room was nothing that they claim it is - when we arrived home our luggage smelled like the room. Breakfast that they offer is a joke- Very small area where food was set up…I will never recommend a quality inn to anyone. Hotel should be torn down. Funny how you can’t reach a person at Choice Hotels headquarters to talk about the situation. Once booked it’s tough to find another hotel to stay at.

Proximity to I-81 while convenient made it very noisy when trying to sleep. AC had to be set extremely low in order for the room to be a comfortable temperature.

A lot of people don't know how hard employees works ,
so I just want to say keep all the hard work.
There is nothing I didn't like about the hotel so thank you so much, I stayed in room #236. The a/c is so quiet,I stayed in other hotels where the a/c is too old and loud that is hard to get some rest but on this one is like a 5 star

Great location. Not so clean.
Hotel is in a great location, easy on/off the highway. Cracker Barrel restaurant right next door. Check in/out was quick and easy with nice staff.
But our room for traveling with a pet (cat) was not the cleanest. Dust ruffles around each bed were filthy. You have to pay an extra $20 for your pet but it definitely does not go towards cleaning. I would not stay there again.

There was a big gapo under the door and bugs crawled in and we had to put a towel down to seal the hole. Rusty shower drain. Towel were thin and cheap and rough.
room was clean and bedding was clean but not soft. Will not stay there again.

The heater stunk when turned on, really badly. Where we had to open the door after we turned it on for 10 seconds. Old furniture, small bathroom and old. Needs renovations. Gross to be honest. The lobby was nice. Breakfast was good. Staff were super friendly. Just needs to work on remodeling it.

It’s a older building, however everything was clean and the staff were all very nice and helpful. I’d stay again. They are not only pet friendly, they welcome pets with a treat bag. Very thoughtful.

Needs an update
Price is great for area. Good for a couple of nights stay, but nothing longer. Room smelt musky. Some lamps in room didn't work. Air wasn't the coldest. Could use a remodel. Had ants in room, all in our snack bag on the desk on 2nd night. Lots of workers stay there, taking up 2 parking spots at once with large trucks. There is a pool and hot tube for use. Also is right beside Cracker Barrel. All staff encountered were friendly. Do offer breakfast, we didn't see what it was.

Almost a disaster
At first things seemed okay. However, my first morning there, I was stepping into the shower with my right foot and the tub was so slippery, my foot went flying and I banged my left shin into the side of the tub. This resulted in a HUGE bruise and a lump that was very large. The tub had nothing in it to prevent slipping. Plus after running water at length it was less slippery. I suspect whoever cleaned the room did not rinse either the tub or floors thoroughly, leaving a soapy residue. I suspect floors also, as I also noticed after finishing my shower, the floor had a sticky feeling and was also slippery where it was wet. I showed my leg to the night clerk. The next morning I told the manager, but nothing was offered except concern. Since I am 72 years old, if I HAD fallen in the tub and broken my leg or hip, this could have ended in my death. My doctor told me that at my age, people who break a hip have a 50% chance of dying!! In the photo you will think it is my knee, but it is the huge knot on my shin!

When we checked in late that evening room appeared to be clean but when I sat near the bed there was a strong urine odor. My daughter smelled it as well. We were switched to another room, checked the beds and one was completely covered in hair. We immediately returned the key and requested a refund. We were told “good luck” trying to get a refund, the owner and manager are sticklers. We ended up having to find another hotel because there was no way we could sleep here, spending extra money unnecessarily.

Family's Go-To!
Quality Inn-Christiansburg-Blacksburg is our family's go-to when in town. We've NEVER had a bad experience there. The night staff on 6/10 was great at check-in. The morning staff were great when checking out the next morning. The interaction was pleasant and enjoyable. The room (113) was neat, clean and properly prepared. If not sooner, we'll be back in the fall!

While clean and the bed comfortable, the overall feel of our room was dated. And, perhaps because we used Orbitz to get a great rate, our room was adjacent to the service room, so smaller in size and had a full size rather than king size bed. Our stay was after Memorial Day, traditional weekend for pool opening, and both the pool and exercise rooms were closed.

The property was well cared for outside and service was fine. While the room was genreally cleaed, the bathtub had long dark hair that needed to be wiped up and a long spider web was haning over the sink.

Room maintenance is really not kept up with. Television didn’t work for both nights despite asking front desk to fix. Room keys failed second night causing another trip to front desk at 11pm. Wifi signal but no internet. Would avoid staying again.

In entering the room there is a stale musty smell. The bathroom had poop smeared on the back of the door and on the wall. On a good note the bed was comfy. Cleaning staff was friendly. Would not stay here again though.
