It smells. The whole hotel smells damp so I’m pretty sure there’s a mold issue somewhere.
The front desk staff is hit or miss. Some are nice and some not so much.
The toilets do not flush with much pressure. Nothing more embarrassing than calling the front desk for a plunger….
I’m pretty sure I got a sinus infection from the mold issue.
Cool property but it needs some major work for me to consider staying here again.

Meh…
Someone let a homeless man into the hallway. Furniture was old, and the place smelled terrible, the soap didn’t work at all, and shampoo was too small for three days no one ever clean the room.

pleasant stay for 3 days
Our 3 day stay was pleasant, staff was friendly and room was nice.
Only one suggestion and we make this suggestion at many of the hotels we've stayed at: even though it wasn't a handicapped room, there should have been a grab bar in the shower. My wife and I are seniors and a bit shaky when taking a shower and I think most people would appreciate having at least one grab bar to hold onto and for getting in and out.

The desk clerk was wonderful.
The shower was dangerous- nothing to hold on to.
No elevator- very hard for people with bad joints
Everything was clean.
Price was not bad.
Breakfast was nice.

Red Roof (and Hotels.com) bailed us out in the early AM after our pre-paid reservation at another property in Chantilly was not honored. The staff was always friendly, the room was in good shape with some renovations done, the AC was quieter than most of that sort. All in all, basic but just fine.
The only thing that was a little disappointing was that the breakfast was pretty limited. But I didn't need waffles that badly anyway.
We will likely stay here again next year when we come to help with the American Rocketry Challenge finals. The location is quite convenient to the flying site.

The property was "OK". Not great. A lot of people hanging around outside. That's never appealing. The hallway smelled like weed. Which if you get a room under $200 that seems to be the new hotel fragrance. Bed was comfy and black out shades worked perfect.

The rooms had strong smoke smell, despite being listed as smoke free. Changed to another room that was bit better but still smelled of smoke. The corridor was so smell, had to walk holding breath. Eventually checked out next next morning for another hotel.

the rooms were not connected as reserved for our daughter to stay. we were told because of problems with
other people trying to get into the private adjacent rooms. the doors had a dead bolt, and they would not unlock it.
--The outside was very, very dirty.

The staff was wonderful from the front desk (Vincent was so helpful) and the cleaning people were great. The remote control was coming apart and the front desk fixed it with electrical tape. The breakfast was terrific. I would stay there again.

The tv remote didn't work, one lamp was defective and the bathroom door wouldn't shut. The worst thing was the heating unit smoked up the room and smelled like it was on fire. the front desk response was that it was dust and to turn on the bathroom fan and it would take out the smoke. We had to check out of the motel and were refused a refund because we booked with Expedia.

Clean without frills
Just stopped by to sleep overnight and continue driving the next day. Hotel is under construction and looked a bit dated but all in all it was in decent condition.

Worst experience ever had. Dirty room hair in the bathroom. Noise from “transition” guests. Smoking and hanging out at guest entrance. Loud music slamming doors. Excessive dog/animal and smoke smell. Horrific!! Would like my money back.

The staff were friendly and precise but housekeeping was understaffed. While the hotel was "non-smoking" there was the residual smell of cigarettes in the hallway and the room. Otherwise the hotel sits on the corner of a useful intersection with a restaurant and gas station nearby.

Bed was great, shower was great, staff was great. Very clean and had all we needed. Were disappointed that there is NO elevator and we had to carry in everything up 2 floors.

Good for a quick stay
Fhe location was good. Happy they were pet friendly. The room wasn't cleaned very well. I spilled some water and apon cleaning it up off the wood floor the towel I used was black. The floor hadn't been washed. Glad they were pet friendly, but the other guests were not considerate. There were chicken bones in the parking lot (very bad for dogs!). Also, the phone in the room kept ringing. Calls for other residents. Also, kept getting asked if I was there from "the program". Not sure what that meant.

You get what you pay for. Considering the low price of the room, maybe my expectations were too high? The hallway and stairwell smelled of smoke and were not well maintained. The room smelled of sweaty socks upon entering. There were several stains throughout (on "clean" towels, on toilet seat, on wall). The mirror was ripped off the back of the bathroom door.
The bed seemed to be clean thankfully.

affordable place to lay your head, it is not fancy but it gets the job done. Staff were nice. Laundry machine on site, we didn't use it but it was nice that it was there.

This was the most reasonably price hotel in the area that had at least an average rating. It’s not any more than average, which is even a stretch.
On the positive side the room was quiet. I don’t know how many rooms were filled, but the lot I parked in was full. There has to be another lot as there are enough spaces in the lot for the number of rooms.
The water pressure and temperature in the shower was great.
The chair at the desk was on its last legs. At first it appears broken but if you play with it enough it works.
I probably won’t stay there again. There should be better choices.

The check-in building (where the food also was) smelled HORRIBLE. The hallway in the hotel room building smelled HORRIBLE. Thankfully the room was clean and didn't smell bad. Also, don't trust Google Maps to get you there. It takes you to the street behind the hotel and there is no entrance to the hotel on that street.

Room is fine
It was a last-minute decision. The lobby and main spaces were dirty and in need of a good cleaning and updating. The staff were pleasant. The room itself was fine, clean and modern. Hallways smelled of smoke and pot. The breakfast left much to be desired.

This property was a pleasant surprise. Clean, large room with a new refrigerator and microwave. Towels were changed each day and the room was cleaned daily. It's an older property that is bring refurbished. We were staying here for a wedding. The food options within walking distance was a real plus.

Great service, adequate room
Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, but the overall condition of the building and room left something to be desired. The wall outside my door showed signs of water damage, perhaps from a leaky roof. The door frame inside the room showed signs of incomplete repair, and the faucet in the sink was not actually attached to the countertop - damage waiting to happen.
Access was good from the road, and it was quite quiet inside the rather spartan-like furnishing in the room. checkout was as smooth as check-in, but the continental breakfast was not so much "continental" and more like "deserted island" - very sparse.
Overall, I would stay here again, but only if the other choices were as high-priced as they were.

I had no problem with this property, clean, neat, nice staff. However, the refrigerator in the room was going bonkers in the middle of the nite so I unplugged it, and did tell management the next day. No issues. Breakfast was not a breakfast. Rather, morning snacks.

No "Attention to detail" as far as cleanliness leaves it looking dirty. Low budget maintenance. Breakfast area was unclean. Covid-19 is still with us. It's the little things that make the biggest difference.

One night stay. It did the job.
Absolutely terrible impression coming into the property, lobby was disgustingly dirty, the area was not attractive at all, some construction and nebulous people coming in and out. Shocked that this was in Warrenton. Strong pot smell on first floor, but our room was decent and no smell. Def needs a complete overhaul. Burger King was walking distance. My husband was relieved we would only be there one night.

It was a non smoking room, had to sign a paper for no. Smoking, when I got up to my room, thats all you smelled, was smoking!!!!!!had to put a towel by my door so it doesn't come in my room!Spent way too much money for that and will never do it again

Disappointed in lack of interest by management
We have stayed at Red Roof several times. While it is a low budget hotel, we have found it satisfactory for the price. On this trip, when we went to check in to our room, the key did not work. The second key we got also did not work. Mike, who works there, was very helpful and was able to finally get the door unlocked at which time we discovered the door was locked from the inside with the security lock. I was able to jiggle the lock and open the door and we entered a room that was boing hot, temperature set at 83 degrees. The bed by the window had clearly been slept on and the adjacent window was not locked. As such it appeared someone had entered the room by the window and slept in the room, not a comforting feeling. Mike told us he would speak to the manager who was not on duty at the time and have him contact us for a possible adjustment due the the inconvenience and security lapse. We again saw Mike when we checked out and he told us he had spoken to the manager and asked him to call us. Three weeks later, no call from management and clearly no concern about the inconvenience or security issues. Very disappointed at management's failure to respond. Otherwise we have found the staff at the Inn very helpful and friendly, not sure we will stay here again as a result of this experience.

Absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. Maid didn’t even restock toilet paper. This is definitely a no frills hotel. We wouldn’t even walk around the room without shoes. Ew!

Comfortable Stay--No Frills
This was one of the most comfortable rooms I have stayed in at a budget motel. I was skeptical at first upon arrival--it isn't the prettiest place--but I asked for a quiet room, and had no problems for the 5 days I stayed. Warrenton is a nice place with a very cute down town.

So this is an older property, so if you just use it as a room for sleeping and enjoy the town and the area it's a great place. I would not want to spend an extended amount of time at the hotel itself. There is plenty to do in downtown Warrenton and the surrounding area that you don't have to spend much time at the hotel. You get what you pay for and this is basically just a room with a bed to sleep. I'd personally prefer a better hotel for a one night stay but this was for 3 nights and the price difference starts mattering a bit more.

Smoke filled and kinda shady people.
First, let me say that the staff is incredible. Too bad they work at a lack luster hotel. Built in 1966, the hotel has been remodeled, but barely. It's dingy, caked in smoke, and the clients look like a drug dealers daydream. It was quiet, but the ac sounds like a motor boat. I'd avoid, especially if you have breathing problems.

It’s very run down. The check-in is separate from where the rooms are. There was a smell in the hallway, had issues with the toilet flushing and it was oddly too close to the wall.

I would not stay here again. The building that the rooms are in are open to anyone; usually you have to swipe your key card, but not here. Also, someone had a dog with them that barked all night and kept us up.

I am very grateful that I was not charged for the four rooms that I booked. I thought I was booking four rooms in Warrenton, Oregon for me and my fishing buddies. It was quite a surprise when we arrived on the Oregon coast and found out our rooms were 2,000 miles away!

Great value for the money
Rooms are nicely redecorated. Looks like they are still needing to update bathrooms. Hallways a little dingy and landscaping needs updated. However, for the price for one night the hotel served it’s purpose and our room was clean & comfortable.

I liked the price of the hotel for just sleeping, however it was not very clean. The soap provided was like clay and a beer bottle that was half drank was found behind the curtain. The corners in the bathroom were black with dirt. Needs cleaned well.

The rooms were clean and decent and we appreciated the amenities in the rooms, such as hair dryer, iron and iron board, microwave and refrigerator as well as coffee maker. However, the hallways wreaked of cigarette and had a strong moldy odor. We got yelled at for trying to get cereal from the breakfast area because it was around 10 am and we didn’t realize that “breakfast ended at 9:00 am

comfortable room at a comfortable price
We enjoyed our second stay here at the Warrenton Red Roof Inn. The room was basic but bed was very comfortable. It was quiet and we found the staff and clientele extremely pleasant. If you are visiting the local area and wineries, it is an affordable alternative to the high end fancy B&Bs in the area and just as close to the sights and also close to shopping malls and restaurants. It is a budget hotel at a budget price. I do not understand folks who expect a budget price with high end amenities, if that is what you are looking for, pay the price for what you want, if you are looking for a safe, convenient, comfortable room, you will find that here. Also pet friendly.

This was my second stay at Red Roof in Warrenton VA. There are a lot of live-ins there who party in the parking lot. Which is a little intimidating for the others staying there. It is also my second stay where the television did not work.

Don't stay here!!
The hotel was in bad shape. It was clear that no repairs or improvements have been done in a long time. There wasn't an elevator so bringing luggage up to the second floor was a challenge. The hotel has no smoking policy but it was not enforced. The air conditioning unit did not keep the room at a steady temperature. The pool was closed and covered and filled with garbage. I went down for breakfast and they said due to covid they were not providing any. They also refused to make coffee, telling us it was going to take a while. The toilet was not working so I asked if we could use a toilet in a nearby room as we were checking out. They told me yhat was not be possible and gave me a plunger. All and all the worst place I have ever stayed. The only good thing was the room was cleaned well.

Was not happy with some of the people that were there. Was out at one of the smoking area and people were smoking but not cigarettes. And the way they were talking was disgusting. I think they live there. I will not be coming back. I didn’t feel safe after that and left.
