Dont book
At the time of booking no one. Mentioned that the front of the hotel would be under construction in all dismantled. The cleanliness of the room was not very good service was okay. Would not book it again and would not recommend to nobody

We had a great big room which I reserved king bed , big bathroom , the handle on the shower was broken off so we couldn't stay in that room and they switched us to a double bed room which was smaller and a tiny bathroom

This property is great if you would like to stay South Beach and want to be around the hustle and bustle of Miami culture. However, I was very disappointed to see how dirty and unkept this property is. The shower had rusted accessories, lamp shades and bed frame had dirty dark spots. I would not recommend especially if your hotel is important to your overall trip experience . I did not complain because we were barely in our rooms. The staff and service was also subpar. When checking out I noticed that there were documentation of other guest out in the open. When I asked the staff about this and expressed my disappointment with the lackluster care for customers privacy he responded with sarcasm and said “he’s working” . He was not present at the front desk when the personal documentation of guest were left out exposed. Overall I would not come back.

The room was a bit dirty, elevator small and creaky...all in all a good hotel. The staff was very pleasant,
helpful and welcoming! The locstion was perfect for night life, dining or a walk on the beach. Right on the main drag of Sourh Beach. Great location with plenty of shops and dining options. The continental breakfast was great! The best part is the ocean view from the room! Would definitely stay there again

Orbitz sold me an Oceanfront Suite and when I got here they said they didn’t have it available. So now we’re looking at an alley way and a dumpster for my wife’s birthday…..so you tell me how I should feel!

Everyone was very nice. The hotel is a boutique hotel on South Beach and across the street from the beach. They had a bottle of champagne in the room, as we were celebrating my husband's 50th Birthday. This was very thoughtful! The restaurant was closed for renovations so they gave us comps for breakfast at their sister hotel one block over.

From a value perspective I guess I really cannot knock this property too much (value for the money). The location is right on Ocean Drive and while you have to deal with the loud cars cruising down the street, the city has done a lot to remedy the noise problem. The location is great.
The property itself is sorta just meh. The bathrooms are really tiny; getting ready in there is difficult because it is so cramped. I believe that their water-saving shower heads are trying to save all the water in the world, releasing water at about 4-5 molecules per minute! Leave yourself time to take a shower.
The rooms are outdated and out of style (though they do seem to make the effort with what they have). You can see the age of the room with its many scars throughout the years. The hallways and common areas are beat too,.. Like the face of a career MMA fighter, the place longs for its early beauty.
All that said, the place was clean and they had people at the doors and reception so I never felt un-safe in what can be a pretty sketchy neighborhood depending on the hour of day.

The staff was amazing everybody was super friendly. I would literally stay there just for them. But you always have to be aware if you're staying anywhere on South Beach that's not a brand new hotel which most of them aren't. The properties are always kind of a little bit beaten up. They always seems to be a little bit of a dank smell and I'm not sure if that's because those buildings are so old or because you're right by the ocean and the humidity gets in there. But that happens every time I stay anywhere on South Beach

This hotel is very old. Room was tiny. Air conditioning was very noisy. Overhead light came on at random while we were sleeping. Front desk said it was a malfunction and would move us, but we were already asleep. Cannot recommend this hotel unfortunately.

For breakfast you have to go two block down the street to another place. Very low quality food and limited options for breakfast was available. Staff were great but the hotel was smelly and beds were not comfortable at all. Bathroom was not clean and no shampoo was available. Location was great.

Needs a total remodel
Sadly this hotel looks nothing like the photos in the listing. Our bathroom shower flooded the whole bathroom when used and our room was humid the whole time. The amount of mold surrounding the shower gave us all headaches. It was actually unsafe. My daughter has asthma and we couldn’t stay in the first room given. The 2nd room given was not much better.
The carpet in the hallways is extremely old, dirty and smelled.
The hotel needs gutted down to the studs. They were trying to cosmetically cover up flaws with new wallpaper while we were there.
Listing said ceiling fans in rooms. There was not one. A ceiling light was in its place, however the light only had 2 light bulbs out of the 6 possible light bulbs working.
No parking available.

Perfect location. Hotel was good. Breakfast was good. However, you have to go and have breakfast in another hotel couple of blocks away but that’s fine. Room is good. All good. Only 1 issue- Elevator was very small and sometimes takes lot of time to go up down, not always.

The only thing going for this place was the location and decent treatment at the front desk. But the hotel itself is in need of basic maintenance. There an obvious need for a maintenance schedule. Simple items like patching and painting the lobby ceiling tell you a lot when you walk in…. It gets worse with work carpets and then the rooms themselves… a bad smell, lack of cleanliness and every single piece of furniture and decor in the building is worn and tired. Glad we were only there for 1 night.

The overall property is around 3.5 as rooms are really small and does not have amenities. I am giving 4 for the location, staff and some facilities which hotel provides as part of the stay such as such as bikes, chairs, towels for beach etc. The beach is just across the road and the location is very convenient for a good walk on the ocean drive or access to the restaurants.

We payed over 400$ per night to stay here for 3 days thinking that this will be a luxury hotel . It was very disappointing room for 3 super tight and smallest bathroom with glass door . Be aware that the hotel says breakfast included but u need to walk over a block to their other hotel to get breakfast.
We woke up to construction noises and mind up the beds and pillows were really terrible too .
Works 1600$ spent on a 3 days trip it feel I was ripped off of my money .

We love the Beacon Hotel and have stayed there 3 times now. This time was in the midst of renovations and we were disappointed that the restaurant and bar were closed. The breakfast vouchers were for another property that was several blocks away, so we were unable to make use of them due to scheduling of tours. That said, we did enjoy the room and will continue to go back when we visit the area. The staff is very nice.

Small room with two full size beds. Paint flecks all over floor, bathroom sink partially painted, shower doors track had mold growing, hair in shower and on bed linens, light in room would turn on and off sporadically, could clearly hear other doors closing/slamming, people yelling in hallways throughout the night, window in room was filthy could not see out.

Close to restaurants and shopping. We’ve stayed here 3 times and been happy. You can walk just about anywhere! Rooms have always been comfortable and clean. This hotel is currently undergoing renovations! If you want to people watch from your room, pay the highest price and ask for room 501.

Stayed for 5 days . The staff were very nice and helpful they go above and beyond to make sure you have every thing that you need. We were able to check in early which was very nice . The hotel was clean and quiet . The room was spacious , and clean the housekeeping lady’s were friendly and gave us clean towels and made our bed every day . The hotel supplies free beach towels daily , free beach chairs & use of beach bikes free for the first 2 hours then a small fee after . We also had use of free robes in the room They also have free breakfast and free star bucks . The free breakfast is about 2 blocks from the hotel due to construction at the beacon . The breakfast was great lots of items to choose from . Upon check out they hold ur luggage until ur ready to go to the airport which is very convenient There is a safe in the room if u need to use it There is also a CVS right next to the hotel . The hotel is in a great location on the strip where all the restaurants and stores are . And of course the beach is right across the street . Every thing is with in walking distance and if u need to go some where they have Lyfts available within 2 minutes to pick u up and they are quick and efficient . This is definitely my go to hotel any time I come to Miami . I love the king suite ocean front 500 square feet

Julio is an amazing man. He really extends his hand and goes above and beyond to help you with anything . Great location, very clean. The free loaner bikes and beach chairs is a wonderful benefit. The beach is right across the street and for $40. A day umbrella rental on the beach stand isn’t bad

Great location, unimpressive hotel
I checked out a day early and didnt care that I could not get a refund for the last night, I just felt better off staying elsewhere. They advertise that breakfast is included. The restaurant is closed so, they give you vouchers to walk to another one of their properties to get breakfast. Very inconvenient! I found the hotel to be very, very dated and not clean. The lobby feels like an aged college dorm. I paid over 1200 bucks for 4 nights. The only good thing was the location. They did have a Nespresso machine in my room. There was one pod and didn't have an issue with that because I had my coffee the next morning. Room service did not refill the pods. I went downstairs to ask for one or 2 and they said they dont have them anynore. Why have the maker in the room then. I got housekeeping late the next day as I slept in. They took the bath mat and wash cloths and I had no hand soap. In the shower is shower gel. I had to wash with the gel and no wash cloth. It wasn't easy to get clean with body wash and no wash cloth. I went downstairs and asked for a wash cloth, bath mat, a bar of soap for the sink to wash my hands. It seemed as if I was invonviencing the desk lady. Later when I went to my room I had all that placed on the tv stand with no soap for the bathroom sink. It was very difficult to walk in the shower to get shower gel tonwash my hands whenever i jeed to wash my hands.

We had booked a double queen ocean front room; however, when we checked in were told only a king size bed ocean front was available as the other room was having maintenance completed. Not sure if that was true since we booked the day before so it would be reasonable to think maintenance would have been known and not able to book it. The manager gave us a late check out which was beneficial to us allowing us to use their free bike rentals to get around the surrounding area and more beach time. The hotel is centrally located on Ocean. The cons of that is the sounds from surrounding clubs and restaurants keep you up until they close due to thin walls of the hotel. On the note of thin walls, if you’re neighbors in the room next or near sets their phone alarm early don't be surprised of hearing their phone as if it was in your room or if they’re having sex to hear their moans and groans. My friend joked I had booked us in a brothel. The other downside as others have mentioned is the door to the bathroom is frosted glass which leads you to believe you have some privacy but at night if bathroom light on and only tv on in the room you can see all into the bathroom. The bathroom was clean but small i.e. 3 steps from the door and you’re in the shower. The free breakfast is basic but has variety of eggs, bacon, bagels, and pancakes. Hotel better suited for those who are heavy sleepers or wear ear plugs.

We booked the suite for our wedding/honeymoon. We had no idea the place was under construction/renovation. Our suite was right above the lobby/bar area. We were woken up everyday to jackhammering, hammering, and regular construction noise directly below our room. There was no restaurant or bar on the premises. There was only a small mini fridge in the room. No microwave. Nothing. The floor always seemed to have sand on it. The batteries in the one remote(2 tvs) were dead. When brought to the front desk they took them out and put the same batteries back in just flipped them. I had to go back and be firm about getting new batteries later. I was mostly disappointed that we were not notified of the construction going on prior to our stay as we would have changed hotels since it was our wedding/honeymoon. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. My parents stayed at the Bentley on the corner of 5th and it was far nicer for the same price.

Disappointing Charm
The Beacon Hotel on Ocean Blvd.
Is a beautiful, historic Art Deco hotel.
I was so pleased when we found our rm.as it faced Ocean Blvd! Turns out that was the highlight of our stay.
Unfortunately there was a, “commons area” with couches and chairs, right outside our door that was full of extremely loud people all evening. They didn’t move on until 10:30 pm…. We wanted to turn up our tv because of their noise, so we could hear the movie we were watching, but the sound is “locked”(?) & only goes so high, so it was a battle to watch tv the one evening we stayed in…
While brushing my teeth at the bathroom sink, I felt a “plonk” on my head- there was water dripping from the ceiling into the sink! So in the poorly lit bathroom, you had to stand out of the way to avoid it.
We were awakened at 7:30 am next morning by banging/sawing/ drilling in what sounded like the room next door…geez!
The Hotel didn’t tell us that they were undergoing renovations. When my husband mentioned it as we checked out, the sloppy girl at the front desk shrugged her shoulders and said, “Yeah, um, sorry.” That was it… I dunno, she could’ve pretended to care…
On the plus side, the fellow checking bags was very helpful. In addition there was a breakfast buffet included with the price of the room, but it’s not on the premises, (it’s a couple of blocks down @ another hotel)
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel in spite of its charm…. Just take a picture from the sidewalk, and move on.
