Staying at this Hotel was my worst experience ever. The hotel is pretty old and without any renovation for a long time, but from app pictures looks like 5 stars hotel. My room was with broken AC system and I were freezing in there. I brought this issue to the front desk personnel and hotel manager, who were ignoring me, and did not offered any useful solutions to solve this issue ( like different room or call an engineer to fix the AC). The stuff behaved themselves like they don’t care about their guests comfort at all. I hope this review will help someone not to choose this place and ruin their vacation in this terrible place.

Pool towel staff was horrible and management did nothing to fix the issue. Will never stay here again. We came to celebrate a friends birthday and had 9 rooms booked and it was the most terrible experience.

We arrived at 1:00 in the morning after a long day of traveling to find a cockroach run across the floor in our room. Housekeeping only came somedays so somtimes we had to get towels from the front desk. The property was very dated and some things were very used. The rooms were small and our bathroom was tiny. It was hard to fit in the shower without hitting the soap dispensers. There was construction going all around so the pool was very loud and it was hard to relax. But the food was wonderful and the staff was amazing. Food and drinks were very overpriced compared to other hotels in the area. We had a nice trip, but will stay somewhere else next time.

I didn’t know construction was going on so I didn’t get the ocean view I expected and paid for. A big disappointment. I could’ve saved money and booked a city view.

It's a very nice property and they do a good job of maintaining. The hotels on either side are going through Major League renovations which the national did over the last couple of years. I noticed the sign saying that they're going to be doing more renovations outside by the street so obviously they're doing more stuff obviously in this type of a climate you have to do constant tender loving care because the climate is very very tough in these old buildings but overall they've done a nice job of maintenance they just need to kind of keep it up a little more that's all

This is a beautiful older hotel.
Lots of charm, including a magnificent pool and pool table.
Small things like no fan or moisturizers in the bathroom,and poor sound insulation.
Also, major construction from the Delano next door.
However, I must state that I still love the National Hotel

4 days 3 nights and housekeeping never cleaned our room. We had to take our own trash out and request clean towels. I requested housekeeping, was told they would send someone, and no one ever came. An apology was given, however, for the price other accommodations hold have been made. Loud music played daily from surrounding resorts. Valet expensive and slow. Waited 35 minutes on our vehicle. Was informed vehicles are parked offsite. Very pricey for the slow service. Resort is very nice and staff were friendly. Pool and service are is top notch. Angel at the pool was so helpful. We loved the location and were footsteps from the beach. Restaurants onsite has excellent food. We tried breakfast and lunch. Both were excellent. Service was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves outside of poor housekeeping and over priced valet. Unsure on if I would rebook.

We had a fantastic stay at the National Hotel. Kiki, one of the managers was the sweetest and most attentive individuals we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. The NH is lucky to have her. She went above and beyond. Pool and dining areas are stunning!

This was our first trip away from our families during Christmas and we weren’t sure what to expect…but WOW! National was so beautiful, gorgeous decorations, lovely pop up piano bar that we went to every night. The staff was exceptional, and the bartenders Johanne and Anita were especially amazing!! I haven’t been to National Hotel in 25 years and it did not disappoint. Can’t wait to go back!!

Dated, overpriced rooms with limited comforts. No to bars or adequate bathroom surfaces or mirrors. Inflexible staff and poor training to address customer needs. Elevators are insufficient for guests and staff; causing long waits. Charge extra for umbrella in spite of hefty extra resort fee.

I’ve staying in a lot of different hotels in South Beach and this is my new fav. GREAT hotel. Beautiful property, super friendly staff, convenient to everything. Beach and pool amenities are great. If your flight is at night, you can still beach/pool all day and use the showers/changing rooms downstairs.

We stayed for 10 nights in the hotel. There was a noisy construction at the pool area, however the staff made everything possible to smooth out this problem. The room and the rest of the property were clean and nice.

Things I loved: The property was centrally located with easy access to beach. Pool area was very nice. We did not eat on property but we had great service from Anita the bartender! Fantastic drinks. Mojitos were great!
All adult was nice. (No screaming kids).
Bed was comfortable
Things I did not love :
Premium priced drinks $18-25 each!
Umbrella for beach was not included. It was $25 to rent! That seems like it should be part of the amenities.
Bathroom was really small. I expected it to be small but its layout was tight.
Don’t bother renting a car - you don’t need it. Walk or Uber - Valet parking was $46 per day plus tips

It has a close location to the beach just a quick walk to it. The pool area was beautiful. It is a nice hotel. It is towards the end of the main party road. So it is quiet and an easy maybe 10 -15 minute walk to the clock or miami bech sign. Would recommend and would stay again

The hotel was beautiful. Pool area was gorgeous. The staff was always helpful and friendly especially the night manager on the night we arrived, i apologize I can not remember his name, Rudy and Lizzette were so much help and Maglie greeted us every morning and took care of our room perfectly. One of our best vacations. We will highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Miami.

the property is in one of the best location. close to many different stores and restaurants. the pool is fantastic, probably one of the best in Miami beach. the staff working at the pool is top notch.
rooms are decent size and clean.
we only had the issue with the wedding party that forced us not to use the pool and the common areas for 2 days in a row during the week end (saturday closed at 4pm and sunday at 3pm). this never happened to us anywhere. the hotel refunded us only the resort fees for the 2 days. if you are staying for the week end only (like we did) are you cannot use for the most part the common areas, it's definately not a good thing. we wished we would have been informed ahead of time. I believe that would have been fair. they did not do it now even when we checked in and that i believe is even worse. we had no chance to decide whether or not going. not fair. make sure you ask about any event because you might have a surprise, and not a good one!

We first stayed at the National Hotel in March of 2021. It was the best hotel stay we had experienced. We like to try new things and have never been a repeat “boutique” hotel customer. This place was so good the first time we chose to come back.
At our second time visiting, the hotel seemed more “tired”. The rooms didn’t seem as “fresh”. I noticed dust on bathroom surfaces and baseboards, paint could be refreshed, and pillows were looking dingy.
Speaking of pillows…Our first visit there were not pillows out by the infinity pool. The addition of those colorful pillows distracts from the beautiful infinity pool. They look faded and dirty. Even my husband, who could care less about that kind of thing, said they distract from the high-end feel of this hotel.
The main pool area closed early two of the three nights we were there for private events. One of the elevators was broken, the hot water was broken for 3 out of the 4 nights, the fire alarms were being tested 2 of the days, and there are major renovations happening right next door, which were loud!
Management was kind enough to refund our resort fee because of the hot water issues.
We still enjoyed the beach and overall had a good trip. The staff is very friendly, but next time mom and dad get a trip away we will choose something else.

The pool and pool staff were the best part of my stay. The hotel is in a great location, but the walls are very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING on all sides, above, below, down the hall, outside…..basically don’t expect to get any sleep while you’re there.

Upon arrival to the hotel, the receptionist made me believe that this room will have an excellent view. She mentioned that I was provided with one of the best room in the hotel. My room was at the end of the building and next to a closed hotel. When you look down from my window room, you will hear bulldozers all day.
On my 5th and 6th day, the hotel blocked some of the lounge chairs near the pool, which means I have limited chairs to choose from which made me upset since I made sure I come in early so I can choose a place where there is no sun all day.
During check out, I have to pay daily service fee that includes towels, wifi, gym and pool lounge chairs. How can they charge a service fee for all of these when they blocked certain lounge chairs for 2 days.
At one point, while having a nap near the pool, 3 staff where talking loud like having a meeting, insensitive to guest trying to relax.
I choose this hotel because of the size of the pool, but one morning, before I started my swimming routine, I found a cockroach in the pool. I immediately called the attention of one of the pool staff who just responded, “ok” and waited for him to remove the cockroach from the pool. I end up taking it out and threw it to the garbage.
This hotel have 2 restaurants and they ask for a tip on the receipt when a service charge has been added. If you don’t review the receipt, you will end up paying more.
This hotel is not up to the standard as reflected on their website.

The national is a gem in south beach. My wife and I only stay here, as you get a tropical island vacation vibe the whole time without leaving the country. Eric at the pool is just outstanding and assures you are always taken care of. Shoutout to Eric! Thanks for making our stay magical like always. The rooms could be a bit dated but that’s the point of a classical hotel. It is a great resort and will be going back for our 4th time on our next trip whenever that may be.

I really enjoyed the property and amenities. Just as a VIP member of Expedia I wasn’t offered a free upgrade or my 2 free drink tickets during my stay. At check in I was offered none of theses perks. They had rooms to upgrade to cause the resort was empty on this day as well as my room was located near construction and I woke up to drilling.

It was so beautiful. The staff was awesome and very attentive. The best place I have ever stayed and already planning a trip back. The pools were amazing and the food was delicious. It’s a bit pricey but the taste and service are worth every dime.

We had an amazing time at The National hotel- perfect romantic getaway to celebrate my boyfriends birthday/our anniversary. The property/accommodations/location/staff were all excellent. We barely left the resort we enjoyed ourselves so much! Only thing that wasn’t absolutely perfect was that the bar closed rather early and there were some nights we just wanted to hang at the hotel bar. Plenty of options right across the street, though. We are already talking about coming back!

Let me start by telling you what I didn't like. My coffee maker was not working in my room, i called to have it fixed or replaced, NEVER happened. I went downstairs and had to pay $9.00 for a cup of coffee. The music that is played poolside sucks. When you go on vacation, especially to an adult only hotel you'd expect the atmosphere to be more upbeat. I came to celebrate my birthday and had to go away from the hotel to do so. On another occasion the room service menu would not pull up on our phones so I called down and they said they would send us a menu, NEVER got one. Id except more for the price i paid and the prices of food and drinks.
What I did like was some of the pool and ocean staff. They were awesome and on top of everything!

Beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly and engaging. The rooms were also nice and very clean. I was loving the pool and the fact that beach access was an exit away. They provide you with chairs, & towel for the beach at all times.

Stayed at this hotel a few times and in general it's a very good place and even recommend it to my friends.
This year, the pool area seemed disorganized and in general a mess. Towels were missing, the staff were not paying attention and seemed more interested in looking at their phone then us the customers.
No upgrade was given and nothing else was offered.
