The property is off of Rt. 7 and there is no easy way to turn left out of the parking lot, Rt. 7 is a very busy road, you have to get off the next exit and turn around.
The door to my room was broken, I had to walk back to the front desk 3 times in order to get in. The desk attendant on duty tried her best to get the door open, as I was locked out of my room. She got on the phone with the manager and the manager had her kick the door in order to open it - which didn't make me feel too safe...I was a bit taken back I wasn't offered any sort of partial refund or credit, as I was locked out of my room with soaking wet hair. The woman who was on duty was super friendly and I enjoyed how pleasant she was to talk to, which is why I let the situation go without a fuss.
The hotel is attached to an old historic house, which is fascinating as it was used as part of the underground railroad, so I appreciate the history.
There is no room service and the restaurant attached to the property is typically closed and has a limited menu. There is no store or toiletries offered like razors, hair combs, etc., which was inconvenient.

Key cards did not work that well to get into the hotel and also our room. Had to try them multiple times before they unlocked. Other than that, everything else was fine.

There was a distinct smell of mold in the hallway. The toilet in the room kept flushing by itself throughout the stay. I would definitely try to avoid it in the future, but it is conveniently located and affordable so i wouldn't be say I am never going back, but there are other choices first.

I felt like I was staying at the Motel, not hotel… It was loud on the floor at midnight.
Showers have a shower curtain through which water was getting all over the bathroom floor.
Pillows on the bed were horrible, unable to sleep on them.
I was on the first floor and curtains were transparent… so I felt exposed to the parking lot.
Check in was slow, as lady behind the counter could not make a credit card reader to work. She also did not say anything about breakfast, which included with a stay… I had to pray all the answers from her,
I was very disappointed with my stay… I did not get a good night rest… and will not stay in this hotel again.

I don’t how this hotel remains competitive. I reserved a king room with a sofa bed. When we arrived, we were assigned a room with 2 beds but no sofa bed. When I asked for a price adjustment but, so far, none has been offered. In addition, the room we were assigned was on one end of the building but the only elevator was on the other end of the building. Another problem with the room was the lack of a stopper in the drain in the bathroom sink - a real hazard when you are trying to clean a partial tooth.
Other than that, the bed was fairly comfortable.

Very nice hotel and affordable considering the area. Staff were the best. Bartender made the evening and I'm telling you the Rogan Josh Indian food was authentic and remarkable. I'm coming back just for dinner!

Nice place to stay close to Leesburg. No frills, clean room, and friendly staff at front desk. I checked out at 5 am and the gentleman asked if I wanted something for breakfast before I left. Breakfast starts at 530. I politely declined however, appreciated the offer.

The staff was sprawled out on the couch when I arrived. I thought is was perhaps a guest waiting for a ride, but no.. I have to wait for when it was convenient for her to get up ans check in. Got the key, first rolm was not accessible because of maintenance reasons. 2nd room the AC didnt work, and they were going to send someone to look at it. They never came. The hotel was noisy, the staff was outside my door multiple time blasting music on their phone. Then i got charged an extra $12 after i checked out. When I called they said it was for taxes... None of it makes sense.

It was what it was!!
Basic, a bit run down: very helpful staff, it was fine for my needs: inexpensive & close to Dulles airport. Lots of restaurants nearby.
A bit funkier than my norm, but I’d already shot my budget. It was convenient and historic too!

Worrisome experience
We were going stay for a night with a 15 month old. While checking in a lady. Amy and notified the receptionist that she is smelling gas on the lower level. We were assigned room on level #1. We smelled the gas in the entire length of hall way leading upto our room. None of them seemed to know what was exactly happening or the the Source of leak. It was a worrisome situation and we immediately checked out. To stay the night at the hotel with a 15 month old was not risk we thought was worth taking.

The pool was so dirty so i call to tell the front desk and he tells me he is going to call and tell someone to clean it so im like great gave it a hour went back to pool of course it was still dirty. Long story short it was never cleaned was dirty we never got a chance our whole trip...my son won both of his football games and couldn't even celebrate with a swim.

There was an unpleasant smell to the room. The floors were slimy and it felt gross.

Hidden fees at check-in. Very noisy AC in room, unbearable pulsating and vibration. Meager flourescent lighting like something out of a 1960s horror movie. Broken in half sink. Dust everywhere. Sticky tile floor. Water stains on the ceiling. Holes in the walls from the doorknobs. Asked for a new room, went there and it was not cleaned. Pile of laundry on the bed, coffee spilled all over the dresser. Not a hotel service person in sight. Finally got a decent room on the 3rd try. This was likely a fair hotel 30 years ago but you couldn't pay me to stay there again!

Booked the Clarion for our visit to Leesburg for a wedding. Difficult location to enter and exit off of Market St. The best of our experience was checking in with young Ryan at the front desk and the friendly staff at the complimentary buffet. The lobby and the restaurant are nice. I would describe the room as shabby but clean, with needed repairs and paint. The bed is inexplicably high off the floor. The comp breakfast was good. The hotel must be dog friendly based on the yaps at midnight. If I would venture a guess, this hotel is owned by a passive investor. Overall, I would say this hotel does not have the bang for the buck and that it over promises and under delivers.

I checked in Friday the 30th to be told they were over sold then they found me a room which I was happy about but we got to the room on LL level and the room smelled like a sewer I went to the desk and asked to be moved which they did. AC was noisy and the new room was badly maintained. There was a wedding party in house that were extremely noisy that night and woke us several times. We went to the restaurant for breakfast on Saturday morning we were told on check in full buffet but there were no eggs and we were told they had no eggs they would not be delivered until Sunday. On Saturday our room was never serviced and I went to the desk to ask for towels and was told they did not have any their delivery was due on Sunday ?? I have been in hospitality for close to 30 years and this property is not run or maintained well sorry I would not recommend anyone stay here

When we checked in, the first room they sent us to had only one working lamp. The cord had to be held at a certain angle to work and the whole outlet was loose in the wall. They sent us to another room that had only one bed for the 3 of us. The third room appeared old and worn but was comfortable and met our needs.

It was dirty, toilet didn’t work. Staff didn’t even ask us for another room.. Gave my daughter a plunger so we could fix it.. next morning went to breakfast and they ran out of things, then stopped to use the bathroom we’re the banquet rooms filthy bee bottles on the counter’s toilet paper everywhere, and that hotel was a lot for the money I paid for it and it was suppose to be handicapped accessible nope it was not at all. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check in took forever. One of the people I was with was given a room and when he entered the room someone was already in there. My room was not clean at all and the outlet in the bathroom did not work.

I just stayed one night but everyone was polite and the room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. I had forgotten a toiletry and it was complimentary if I needed it, just had to ask for it. They had a very nice full breakfast bar that was good. The only thing that I would recommend from my short stay was that they need to continue the sidewalk going around the front and to the back where the parking is.

The hotel itself was quite nice, staff were kind and had no issues with the hotel itself. However, there is a restaurant next door and on the final night of our stay they were having some sort of event. This event involved extremely loud music that could be heard in our room until almost midnight.

After a long flight, I needed I wanted to rest prior to resuming the rest of my journey home to MD. I saw this hotel and it was reasonably priced and near the airport. At first glance, it looked a bit creepy, but the first building you see once you turn off the road appears to be under construction. The hotel property is attached to a conference center and an Indian restaurant.
Once I arrived that evening and was greeted by friendly front desk staff, including the most adorable Corgi. Check-in was quick and easy. Unfortunately, I returned to my vehicle and my battery was dead. The front desk attendant went and located someone to jump my vehicle and I was able to get a good nice rest.
The facility was quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The furnishings and appearance have been upgraded.
There were basic items provided for breakfast. I did detect the strong scent of Indian herbs and spices from the restaurant. Very pungent. However, it is not noticeable in the other areas of the hotel.
The next morning my interaction with the front desk staff was just as pleasant.
For the price and location (15 mins drive) this location was a great value.

The room directly next to us was noisy all night long banging on the walls called front end on several occasions got no help in instead of saying we can move you to another room they said All I can do is keep calling that room and letting them know that you were complaining

Room was very tired. Bathroom condition was deplorable! Unsightly gaps at wall tub, wall door frame with debris. Toilet mounting bolt exposed and uncovered. Bathroom light fixture from the 70’s so dirty had to run the fan/light to get enough light.
Room wasn’t serviced first day. Complained at front desk to be told we have to request cleaning. When I requested cleaning desk person turned and walked away mumbling I’m not housekeeping. Not surprisingly, he did nothing about it. So we had no clean linens the first day.
We had several friends book rooms there at the same time and we all had the same opinion. I would sleep in my car rather than this dump.

We asked for handicap room. Room was at the back of the building. Had to try to get the luggage rack up three concrete steps. After having to go back to front of the building for a rack. Loose tiles near the door that could easily cause a fall. Very outdated and worn room for the price we paid. $100 hold on credits card is ridiculous as is the fact that cash is not allowed even though you have a copy of my drivers license. Will not book here again

Lack of Cleanliness
When we arrived the room we were placed in a room that had ants on the bed and a stain on the sheet. In addition the desk chair seat was covered with dirt and whose knows what else on it. We were moved to a new room which had to be the most noisy hotel room I have ever been in. All the hotel doors seem to slam shut so getting a restful night's sleep was impossible. This hotel need a lot of updating.

It is confusing to find the hotel which requires a hard right off of Rt 7 into their parking lot, it was a reasonably good place to stay. Our room was large; bed and pillows comfortable and bathroom was clean. I didn’t expect breakfast but it was the usual hotel hot breakfast of waffles or eggs. While the hotel itself has seen better days, the whole experience suited us well.

As soon as we walked in we were met with a smell of mold/weed. The whole front of the AC unit was laying on the floor by the bed. I was able to get it back on but not before seeing how disgusting it was. The ceiling had big water stains & the walls were dirty. One wall by the trashcan even had food splattered on it. The bathroom vent was barely hanging on. Every surface had thick paint slapped on it or was covered in plaster or caulk. The floors were gross with gunk stuck in between the cracks with crumbs & dust in the corners. I never even took my shoes off until I got into bed, which honestly I was grossed out by even sleeping in. We arrived really late, so leaving was not an option. The specific listing I chose included extra photos that none of the other listings had, so I assumed it was a bigger room, but no. The photos of the rooms were obviously taken when they were first designed because they do not look like that after 100 coats of paint. All the furniture's surfaces looked like they had a coat of lysol sprayed on them and were never wiped. On top of that, when we checked in they told us breakfast was served until 11. Then someone else corrected them saying 10:30, so the next morning we asked the location for breakfast... He directed us how to get there, just for them to tell us breakfast already ended, so we were told the wrong time 3 times. Apparently they have no idea what time breakfast is. I would NEVER stay here again! Highly DO NOT recommend! Go elsewhere!

It is definitely a hotel in need of renovation. Of course it was the cheapest deal I could find on short notice, so you get what you pay for. There was a strong marijuana smell when we got to the first room. It was there most of our stay. I asked to switch rooms, and the front desk clerk was very accommodating and moved us right away. The entrances were a little scary at night due to them being at the back of the building, but my son and I were quick to get in and out. Breakfast was okay. It had some yummy food but was missing a lot of staples we are used to for breakfast.

Horrible! Dirty! Would not stay again ...
The pictures are not accurate - the building is under construction. They claim to be "updated" but just painted the rooms and put vinyl flooring in that already has water stains and appears filthy. The bathrooms were equally unappealing; if you're too tall you won't fit in the shower. The entryways from the parking lot reek of weed and cigarettes. I was checked into a room that was not cleaned well at all and then found a significant amount of long black hair in the bed - they switched my room and the bed in the new room appeared clean so I stayed put - mainly because I knew I wouldn't be able to get my money back ... I was supposed to stay for two nights and I only stayed for one because I desperately did not want to sleep there again. The desk clerk was very nice but I would never ever go back there again.

Our room was last cleaned to a bare minimum, it was a quick "update" to try to make it look updated. There was a rotted out whole in our bathroom, the floor had not been cleaned, the sink was broke, the faucet was barely attached. It was a close drive to shopping and food but I personally would not stay there again.

Booked for a night and we liked it . The room was spacious and beds were good. They had a refrigerator in the room, which we don’t see much nowadays . The guy in the lobby was really awesome and helpful. He was able to check us in early and very accommodative .
Breakfast was so good . They had bagel, eggs, hashbrowns, coffee, and some meat : very sumptuous breakfast . Swimming pool was dirty . Couldn’t use that . Gym was good . Overall we had a good experience…

Rooms were dirty and in very poor repair. Window didn’t close and wasn’t secure. Repairs were attempted but were poor at best. Extensive water damage in bathrooms. Mold in bathroom. Bathroom fixtures falling out of the walls. Sinks cracked. Tubs damaged and poorly repaired. Food was bad, no healthy choices, no fruit.

Disappointed in every way with this hotel. Hard to get luggage in through unassuming side doors with another door to go through. Elevator inconvenient. Steps down from lobby to 1st floor. Bar closed an hour early, though I recognize it was a slow night. Bathroom really meeds an update, not just a coat of paint. Bathtub was old and condition poor. Can we talk pillows? Maybe synthetic. Made head hot just to lay on them. Sheets not soft and cool. No microwave. Breakfast buffet was awful. Skip this hotel

The most filthy (dirty would be too mild) hotel room and bathroom I’ve ever stayed in. There evidently had been water damage throughout— grout in tiles in bathroom mouldy, warped vinyl floor tiles, lots of holes and chips all over. Smelled like a changing room at a pool. Would have left but had to get to a wedding right away. Can’t believe this place is still operating. Disgusting.

Not my first choice, or second.
Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful but others were not. The room was not terribly dirty, but it wasn’t very clean either. The air conditioner worked very good, but the lighting was very dim.
The bathroom was not in good shape. The sink was dirty and the faucet was loose and moving around. The handle was very tight so you had to hold the faucet to turn the water on and off. The shower curtain rod was loose in the wall and I thought it was going to fall down at any point. The water was hot and had good pressure.
The worst part is that they wouldn’t clean the room or bring towels in between the days that we stayed. We asked the front desk for towels and they said they would send them up. After waiting for over an hour, we found some staff in the hall that was kind enough to get us towels and apologized, not getting word from the front desk that we needed them.
The beds were clean and comfortable and the mini fridge was cold.
We did find a bug in the room, but they probably can’t prevent that from happening.
Overall, I would not select this hotel again, but I would stay there if I didn’t have any other choice.

Serviceable if you're only staying one night
A friend and I stayed here just for an overnight. Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were pleasant. The hotel is serviceable for a very short stay, but I wouldn't want to stay for more than a night. The hallways were dirty and reeked of several foul odors (weed, food, staleness), and our room was OK but the bathroom did not seem like it had been cleaned properly (toilet cleanliness was questionable) and the air conditioner was louder than a construction site. Furthermore, to get to our room we had to enter a side door that was just propped open, a major safety concern. Again, all in all it was fine for a one-night stay. Hotels in Leesburg are limited, so if you're going there for an event, you really don't have a lot of choices.

Had to kill 2 bees and some kind of bug inside our room within the first 5 minutes of being in room. The windows were dirty. And the keys were not working properly at all. Had to get new ones and still had same problem. Getting in through side door we had to use the key about 5 or 6 times before it would let u in. And and with our room door. Very overpriced stay for all the inconveniences.

This old property should be an embarrassment to the Clarion name. Dirty room floor, WIFI so slow it didn't work, rusty bathroom, poorly patched walls, light bulbs burnt out, unfriendly woman at registration. Close to $200/night is an outrageous price for this motel. But a very good, if limited, breakfast.

Although the gentleman who checked us in was extremely helpful and accommodating, the hotel itself was disappointing. Our room was not very clean, there were water spots all over the faucets and bathroom and whiskers in the sink.
The room itself had scratches in the walls and paint missing in places. I was just surprised because the room was not inexpensive. We were there for a wedding in the area or I would have left and found another hotel.

My room was right next to the laundry room and the room service staff where talking to each other extremely loud very early in the morning. I called the front desk to let them know and they just said “ok” but didn’t seem to do anything about it. Overall very noisy.

Worst experience I’ve ever had
Awful experience, this place looks nothing like the pictures, very misleading. Our room was disgusting and smelled like a ashtray. As soon as we arrived I called. There was nothing they said they could do but offer me spray Lysol. The tv stand was really dusty looks like a dog chewed on it also. Small black hair found in sheets. The bathroom fan didn’t work ceilings so low when taking a hot shower the roof caught the water and would drip on you while showering. Asked for some type of compensation and they said they couldn’t do anything at all. We paid $400 for 2 nights. Absolutely worst hotel experience

I felt safe as a woman traveling alone. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was complete with a variety of tasteful items both hot and cold. Coffee available any time of day. This is an older property but fairely well kept.

The staff was great. The bathrooms not so great. Hallways smelled of smoke. Did not feel safe.

Crime scene
There was a broken down car in the parking lot covered by a tarp & a drunk couple in a fight. No elevator, instead a rikkity old lift. Low income, full time residents, saw a drug deal in the hallway right after I checked in. At that point I turned around went back to the lobby & told them I wasn't staying. They would not refund my money. I left & had to pay for an additional hotel because I feared for my safety.
