We went to a play at Ford’s theatre and to avoid the long drive home on New Year’s Eve, we stayed at Candlestick suites. The stay was great, room was very clean, bed comfortable!

This was an awesome stay, I would definitely stay here again. I was attending a concert nearby, I’ve stayed in multiple places and this was one of the best ones. The staff was friendly and my room was clean and quiet. Parking was easy and included in the price. I usually like to be left alone so this was perfect. Will be back for sure!

Entire hallway & room smelled of cigarettes despite the smoke free signs up. My room (230) was tucked away at the end of a hall, I had to keep air circulating all night, the odor of old cigarettes and mildew (?) wrecked my sinus. Also, not very quiet at all - right next to a staircase, door banging & people stepping all night, 1AM, 2AM, 3AM, etc. Sheets were itchy and rough.

Only stayed for one night. Staff is friendly, room is clean, but the lobby area itself is cold (not temperature) and unwelcoming. Location is right next to Fair Oaks Mall, plenty of restaurants within a short drive.

I stayed here with my mom for a long weekend (Friday-Sunday). My mom and I were impressed with the size of the suite and everything that was included. The room was clean and the kitchen was well equipped for making a meal (we didn't need to). The check-in process was so quick and the staff were very nice. I slept on the sofa bed and it was ok for a couple of nights. It was close to all of the major stores and restaurants. And only a 30-minute drive to D.C. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an apartment feel instead of a hotel room.

When I reserve the place on line at the Expedia website, it says Continental breakfast is included. But when I check in, it does not.

We stayed for 2 nights. It was easy to find off the interstate. The outside of the property was well kept and maintained. When we entered the lobby we had a mob at the front desk that were complaining about something, so we waited. The card key had to be run thru twice as it did not work the first 2 times. The cart to bring in luggage was broken, it was too huge to begin with. The lobby and the room needed big time updating, things looked shabby, but the room was clean. Our room was on the first floor and was quiet the first night, although the refrigerator seemed noisy. Starting with the bathroom, it was clean but the toilet kept filling constantly, I took off the lid and the float mechanism needed to be unstuck a little and then it worked fine.They had green efficient soap, shampoo, etc as pump bottles in the bathtub. Also appreciated that there was a tub and shower. They had a plastic mat in the bottom for safety and a bar on the outside for safety. Sufficient amount of towels , etc. I did feel exhaust in the bathroom was needed as it clouded up the mirror. The kitchen was appointed well although there was only one place setting (plate, cup, cutlery, etc) and there were two of us. There was a loud ice maker, but we left it on while we were touring, you do need to shut it off at night as it was too loud. By the way the second night there was a barking dog in one of the rooms but not for the whole night. There were sufficient trash cans. Nice lounge chair and bed was comfy.

Rooms were nice but the temperature was very hot even though it was 40F outside and I had the heat turned off in the room. Upstairs resident was in a roller office chair starting at 4:30 am and was rolling around and I could not sleep. Get rid of roller chairs.

I stay here a lot, they welcome me and they welcome my old dog. They're friendly and efficient and the room is nice and functional. Only issue this time is the garbage in the room hadn't been emptied but that's not so bad in the grand scheme of things.

Clean room, safe property, easy parking, staff was great to deal with. Super value considering the location outside of DC. My only issue was with the hairdryer. It lost power each time I turned it to high, even after trying different outlets. I went to my father’s funeral with wet hair.

Homestyle stay
We chose this hotel since it was near our former neighborhood. The room was equipped with a 2 burner range, kettle, MW, full refrigerator and dinner and tableware. The TV offers numerous channels. The bed was comfy. And we were able to bring along our small dog. The room phone and the ice machine were not working.

Rooms are good size and bathrooms too. We stayed in room 218. Room smell clean and also looks clean. Mattress and pillows were super comfy. Room was nice with a small and well organized kitchen area for those that stay a little longer. It has a long desk that ends as a table separating the room area from the kitchen, two chairs and a recliner. First floor has a clean gym, laundry room and also a market place area which was really helpful and compare with other hotels the prices are better. Area is nice and quite, has a shopping plaza near by walking distance and many other things close. Gas station isn’t that far. Also people in the area are friendly. Hotel uses J.R. Watkins brand ( shampoo, gel and conditioner ) for those that like this brand, I love it. Next time We are in VA or DC, We will stay in the same hotel. Hopefully soon.

Great stay and conveniently located
The hotel was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. It is an extended stay so housekeeping not offered less than 7days; however staff was very accomodating with replacing towels and filling bath gel. Cindy at front desk is the best. The hotel is in a great area for navigating around Fairfax. We stayed for George Mason Unv. graduation and very easy to get to and from campus.

Booked a one bedroom suite online , upon checking in we were told there wasn’t any available. We ended up having two connected rooms. Worked out in the end , my kids and I had enough space and enjoyed our stay.

I really liked that they could accomodate our late night arrival. They had a lock box with our key inside that we could get without having to interact with anyone at 1 am. It made check in quick when your are super tired.

It was very nice for the prices - decently large room and comfy bed plus spacious bathroom. Pleased overall with restaurants nearby and location in relation to GMU/places to go. Only complaint is that our toilet was clogged when we got there, and after using it flooded the bathroom. We had to take care of that but it wasn’t too difficult - kind of irritating. Otherwise ok place to stay.

Nervous start when we got to the room and there was a tool box in front. Technician said was making sure toilet was working properly. When we got in everything was ok and looked clean. The bedroom does not have an air conditioner and it was hot trying to sleep. Should really have a/c in the bedroom. The young lady at front was very nice, though.

I did not like the fact that there was no room cleaning service over the weekend. During the week, I was informed that you need to make an appointment to have your room cleaned! I found this out by being gone all day on a thursday, and when we came back, the room was not touched. We needed clean towels, at the least.

Great food nearby. 1/2 hour away from everything. Most comfortable bed. My wife spoke with the guys from the freeway workcrew who have been staying there for over a year and they loved the place. No: choppers/sirens/loud music etc. The place is tucked within a business and high end apartment area.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Candlewood Suites!
This was an amazing stay! From the minute we were greeted by Tiffany at check in to check out by Valerie. I even found the manager (Laila) stocking shelves in the pantry while I was enjoying some of the 24-hour complementary coffee. This pet-friendly hotel was perfect for our large family. The suites were roomy and economically suitable. The cleaning service was upon request and avoided waste. Everyone was genuinely friendly and willing to help, even if I didn’t need it. This will be my primary hotel for my family trips going forward for the price and convenience.
It was just nice to have a trip work out for a change.

Great stay, great location
Very nice hotel. Conveniently located to shopping, eating and George Mason University. Lots of supplies in room-body wash, shampoo, full size fridge, microwave, 2 burner stove top and dishes. Bed was comfortable. Only issue was a bit trying to get room temp just right either too hot or too cold, but we eventually figured it out. The last night someone was definitely smoking in their room-you could tell in the hallway

I’ve stayed at this property numerous times, the room reeked of curry and other East Indian spices, if I wasn’t flying in from Asia and wasn’t so tired, I would have insisted on another room.
The manager apologized when I was checking out, that room is ruined unless they can decontaminate the smell.

This could be a much higher rated stay, if only the humidity in the room was controlled. Even with the AC on, it felt like we were staying at the beach. There is definitely a wet smell when you first open the room door, but it does dissipate after a while (or you just get used to it). Everything else was great. Comfortable bed, very clean, and great towels.

I like that the property is always the same each time we go. I did not like having the room across from the laundry. They began very early in the morning and it was noisy. The spin cycle is off balance, so it thumps a lot. I also wish we could get a regular blanket as the comforter is too hot. When we asked, we just got this sheet type blanket. Also, your pillows are TERRIBLE! Too soft or too hard.

My suite was wonderful! Nice and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a great size too, and the little kitchenette was very helpful (full size fridge, stove top, microwave). This is the nicest, quietest place I've stayed in with my dog so far. There were a couple of doggy waste stations, including one that was by the stairs on my end of the hall (there's an elevator too). The stairs were carpeted and of a decent size and angle for me and my dog to get down them safely, even when she was in a hurry to go potty. Sadly, an apparently large number of people don't pick up after their dogs though, so be careful walking around.
The staff were also amazingly kind and helpful, and I really appreciated them, especially Manu who checked me in that evening and answered all my questions!

Very clean, very comfortable. Staff were friendly if not easily accessible. My dog was very welcome at the hotel, which I appreciated. It was very quiet during our stay and the heating and cooling could be adjusted freely. My sole complaint was that we were on the ground floor and the curtains were very sheer, so I'm pretty sure someone walking on the grass could see into the room fairly easily. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend and visit again.

Terrible service
A manager on duty literally almost walked in my room while I was naked with my fiancee. And didn't knck. I went to the door with no shirt and asked her she. All she said was I'm sorry. What's your last name?. It was so weird and disrespectful. I will never go tj this hotel again. I need my refund.

Only issue that I encountered was during check-in. The price stated hybrid Expedia was not the price that I shown at check-in. I showed my confirmation email to the desk rep (believe his name was Ken), showing the price difference listed by Expedia, and he told me to called Expedia as there was nothing he could do. I contacted Expedia support and spoke with Syra (support rep), she resolved this issue quickly by contacting Ken at the front desk herself to correct the price difference charge.

Nice - just pay attention
Hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable and great location however, I was first assigned a room with another guest already occupying the room. Also, I was over-charged $100 from the confirmed reservation amount. I would still book this hotel again even with these couple of issues.
