Older property but pleasantly surprised. Room was updated and clean. Gas Fireplace in room. Working smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Great location. Property is on River Road so not as much traffic and quieter. Within walking distance of most everything. We actually extended our stay an additional day. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed on the ground floor, which had been freshly renovated. Everything was up-to-date properly worked properly vinyl floors roomy it was excellent.

Фоторгафии не соответствуют действительности и скрашивают все недоработки. Выглядит так как будто был задуман проект хорошего ремонта и дизайнер поработал на славу,но воплотить его в жизне не удалось. Самым большим разочарованием для нас стало ляденое помещение туалета где как оказалось нет ни кондиционирования ни подогрева и ледяная плитка на полу. Другим нашим разочарованием была система кондиционирования и подогрева в комнате. Ее просто невозможно отрегулировать она как будто живёт своей жизнью и дует то холодом то жарой по ее собственному усмотрению, причем это происходит каждые несколько минут.
В целом все выглядит старым, разбитым и не доделанным.
Гостиница определённо не стоит тех денег что были уплочены. Определённо мы больше не вернёмся.

We were greeted by the nicest lady at the front desk. Our room was so clean and nice! Older hotel that has been remodeled and is great! Super clean! Very walkable right behind ober Gatlinburg. Parking was great!

We have stayed here many times. Rooms are quiet and it is in a good location, quick to get to the strip or the national park entrance. It is clean, not the fanciest of hotels, but the fireplace is nice and the jetted tub in the king is a plus.

The outside may be showing a bit of age but our room was immaculate. The bed was extremely comfy and the fireplace was perfect on the cool nights. Staff was very friendly. Everything is within walking distance and is off the main strip and noise that comes with it. Wifey has decided this is a place we're staying again, that doesn't happen often.

Not a bad stay
No hot water in the shower, we had a strong smell of cat urine. Which when we did notify the Inn they were going to change rooms or send housekeepers in to clean it again but once it rained the smell was gone. We will stay back here it’s not bad great walking distance to all the attractions.

Don't judge too quickly!
This is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. I was a little worried at first because the exterior was a little in need of a clean-up but the rooms are amazing. I felt safe the whole time I was there and the parking lot is convenient. It is literally a minute's walk from the main strip, but despite that we heard NO traffic sounds. The people in the main office are also very friendly and polite.

The room was an average room. Beds were on metal frames that were kinda noisy. Getting ready the first morning, we noticed the shower had a bad leak around the bottom of the door. Enough to have to put down around 4 towels and it was still soaked. You could see the molding around the bathroom had been affected by the moisture. We told management and they acted like they knew about it but had yet to fix it or let us know about it beforehand. Probably won’t stay at this hotel again.

I thought the booking was misleading, compared to what our room was Definitely needs an upgrade Was expecting to be next to the river. The river was across the street, not visible from our room would not recommend staying here for the price again.

1970s Gatlinburg Hotel
Overall the River Edge Inn was very adequate. The room was clean and had good in-room amenities. The property was close to all of the action in Gatlinburg and the National Park. The property is “tired”, however. It’s been around a long time and needs some TLC. Walkways were cracked, the couch in the room was old and we could not get the fireplace to start. The lady who checked us in was on the phone when we arrived and she spent more time worrying about the phone call, which she put on hold, than talking with us. When we checked out at 7:00 AM, the lobby door was locked, but someone was in the office totally ignoring us. We could see her walking around back there. The morning breakfast items to go were surprisingly good and numerous. A good solution for the small lobby space. This property clearly has location working for it and time working against it.

The people were very nice and the room was clean and adequate. The outside property was rundown and not as clean as it could be. Property was not on the edge of the river as it appeared in the pictures but was close.

Very nice hotel , would definitely stay again
The good , Very clean , room was big and no carpet . Breakfast was just a grab and go just a note they don’t open for breakfast till 8am . Nice 5 minute or less walk to the strip . Room was quiet , The bad , at least for me was the bed , it was squeaky when you moved and was a little too soft also only had 1 ice machine that is on the 3 rd floor . With all said the stay was great and I would definitely recommend and stay again .

Comfortable and close to town
We didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room, but it has nice amenities. The room we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchenette and living room. Great if you’re the type that likes to eat in the room. Sleeps 8 comfortably. A few blocks from the strip, a few restaurants or aquarium. There is a trolly stop across the street next to the creek.

Hotel was not located on the river or on the strip. They stated it was across the street but could only be seen from the office, not the room. We saw dumpsters and a oarking garage. Patio was so close to each other that we could hear every conversation at numerous rooms. Ice machine didnt work all weekend.

The water pressure in shower wasn’t good. The toilet seat was loose. The sink in the entryway doesn’t drain well. Nothing major wrong. Just wanted to let them know. But the room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Overall a good stay. We will probably be back there.

Id recommend, very affordable
First the front office lady was super sweet and helped me figure out some things I wasn’t to sure about. The contactless room service was also great. My room was fully stocked, clean and pleasantly big. It was the perfect spot to be close to everything but not too close.

I really enjoyed my stay at Rivers Edge. Check in was so easy. We had plenty of space and the best part was the pillows! We had four on each bed. The beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly.

The room was spacious and clean, second time in Gatlinburg so we went to Ober Mountain and it was the perfect place for that and affordable on Labor Day weekend. Great customer service and near other attractions and restaurants. The only thing we didn't like was that the elevator needed cleaning.

Not a honeymoon place.
The room had HORRIBLE lighting. The renovations were quite under par, none of the flooring matched up with the walls. The shower/tub situation was very dangerous to get in and out of. The bed frame was metal and made a ton of noise.
If you book the honeymoon suite, there was no champagne/sparkling cider. The toilet paper holder was broken.
Luckily me and my husband did not stay in the room much and we were out majority of the time. However if you are looking for somewhere to relax on your trip, I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

My room is very nice, bathroom is clean and some of room amenities are ok.
What i did not like:
1) The entrance and inside of elevator is so dirty, it smelled like urine and really pungent.
2) The pool is also dirty and needs cleaning and the ice maker is also dirty.
3) The bed is uncomfortable and pillows are very soft and not conducive to sleeping.
4) The whole building needs to be renovated.

Room was clean except the area rug should be thrown out. It was beige, dirty and stained. Great staff, great service, clean overall inside except rug. The building is old but even so the elevator and vending areas are filthy. Great location, quiet and close to everything without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Staff was very nice. I overall enjoyed my time. Room was fine for the price. You are within walking distance of everything Gatlinburg, which is great for when you go out. It's not so great when trying to sleep after hours. I don't even think there's very much open after midnight. The streets were super loud, regardless. Didn't sleep much. That was really the only time I spent in the room. I'm not going to give them a lower grade for something they can't control.

I was especially disappointed in the parking situation… 1 room 1 car. My party was traveling from different states & had 2 cars. I wouldn’t have minded street parking if it was available but all spaces were occupied so I had to keep circling until one become available. I wish I had known before hand only 1 car could park at the hotel.
The hotel advertised accessible rooms but when I got there I was told there were not accessible rooms.
The free breakfast was a grab & go not what I expected. Most hotels offer some sort of buffet breakfast .

This place was close to downtown, which was very convenient. The room seemed partly renovated, but still looked worn. There was a very musty smell in our room. When we said something about it, the said they’d bring us an air freshener, which would not have helped. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Was pleased with the selection here, all things considered it was definitely worth the value. My only negative point is that the breakfast area did not open until 8am, which is too late for families wanting to start out the day in the Park early.

Great room.
We had a great room. Everything has been updated. Bathroom was very clean , loved the rainfall shower head. There were extra towels already there. My granddaughter loved the pool everyday. My one suggestion is to clean the area rug between beds.

Vacation trip for two.
The beds were so comfortable , Location was great we walked to all the attractions as long as you don't mind walking. The room was renovated with wood floors. One thing i would improve would be install larger tv's. We stayed on the first floor so was able to park right outside our room. Also has a small balcony in the back with chairs to sit outside if you like. The pool looked nice but was too cold for us to try. Loved it would stay here again.

Overall the place is clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. The property just needs some minor upkeep. Loose molding laying in the walkways, screw loose on a closet door. Needs painting/cleaning in the elevator area.
Walkable to major attractions and trolley transit center. We arrived on Thursday and left on Monday. We didn’t move the car till Sunday but we did walk a lot.

I really wanted to like this hotel. The only benefit was the jacuzzi tub. The fireplace in our room did not work, and there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. We even tried the pool, which was very cold - but served it’s purpose of cooling our legs off from the hot day. I wouldn’t have swam in it as it was very dirty. We paid $360 for 2 nights and actually left the second day and didn’t stay the last night.

I was a little shocked when I pulled into the parking lot. The building was older than I expected and it did not match the pictures. The private balconies just overlooked the pool and the parking area. And while they were private, they still faced other rooms so if anyone else was sitting outside, you would see them. Overall, the rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay here again but I would know that the description doesn’t match the actual product.

Amazing location, great stay
Wonderful stay, in a great location with just right grab-n-go options to start us off with a quick cereal, muffin or yogurt. Staff was all so friendly and helpful. This is an older building, so of course there is some wear and tear like older stairs and elevator. Everything in our 2bedroom family suite was nice and neat, soft towels and very comfy. You can’t beat the location- absolutely perfect on River Road, so close to everything and also easy to walk River Road instead of the main strip when you want a less busy route.

Front desk staff was kind. The property looks very nice from the outside but the inside needs a little work. Bathroom ceiling had a small crack and looked like it had water stain. There were a few insects on my wall and hiding behind the window curtains. Walls are paper thin. Breakfast was a grab and go(cereal,milk, some fruits,honey buns, nothing big) The area is beautiful. Walking distance from Ripley's and Anekeesta. For the price I paid I could've found something much better but I wouldn't mind to go back again.

The property was a clean. It is a older hotel but they or working on updating all facets of the hotel. The room we had was remodeled and updated. The fireplace was nice but we didn't need it. The beds were extremely comfortable. Had a cottage feel and the balacony was really nice. Definetly would stay there again.

Within walking distance of mainstreet. Far enough away its Quiet and no crowds. On side street you can avoid crowds when driving. It's a older building but well maintained.with plenty parking.

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was really nice! Parking was convenient and was in walking distance to everything. The only thing that could have been better was the grab-and-go breakfast but wasn't too worried about that with how clean and nice the rooms were.

The hotel was nice but the renovations were somewhat cheap. The baseboards and doors were old and appeared to be painted over rather than replaced. A door lock on the front entrance was non-functional and the chain on the patio door didn't work. The rooms looked fantastic on the websites but not quite as nice in person. The beds were very comfortable, I absolutely love having a keurig in the room, the television channels were plentiful, and other than the cheap renovations it was very clean looking.
