We stayed 4 nights everything was so close easy walking to everything! The restaurant was closed first night no cook? The second night we couldn't get a drink at bar while in pool no license? They did allow you to bring your own drinks in. Staff very nice.

I had a wonderful experience during my week at the Bamboo Waikiki hotel. I was one block from the beach, bus service is everywhere in Waikiki for those that do not want to get a rental car. The zoo, aquarium and Diamond head road are with easy walking distance.The hotel was clean and the staff was always available for coffee refills, beach towels and day to day supplies. My room was very clean and functional, the lanai (balcony) had views of the beach as well as various neighboring streets. Air conditioning and TV were new and modern. I can find nothing lacking at this accommodation and give a full thumbs up to anyone considering this hotel for a vacation stay.

Although I did enjoy the 1 bedroom suite the bed was super comfortable! However, The lady at the desk seem to be prejudice and did not want to assist. I arrived early and was extremely tired and just in the lobby while watching other guests be attended too with a smile. When we got to the room after this disappointing experience the disappointment continued the curtains and walls were not clean.

The single bed is my room was a twin size bed at best, not a queen or king. You have to give the front desk more than 24 hours notice to get your room cleaned even though they charge you extra for cleaning up on arrival. Otherwise, nice little place, cheap, little parking on site but right in the heart of the shopping and activity. I liked it.

We had been looking forward to this trip for years and planning it for over 8 months. 1. When we checked in the room was nothing like the picture and the smell was overwhelming musty. After airing it out it went away but came back every time we left and came back. 36 hours after check in we were moved and after looking at 2 options were finally offered the room we paid for. 2.Also we had to pay a cleaning fee of almost $300 on top of the nightly room rate we had already paid and have never encounter this at any other hotel and have stayed in 3 other hotels in the past year.

Do not recommend to people. This is a terrible place. The service is so bad. They charge $177 cleaning fee on top of the room rate but not provide the cleaning service. The room is terrible and small, old and no basic gadgets.

Room was not cleaned on a daily basis, there ws no emptying of trash or collection of used towels. Trash and towels had to be taken downstairs.. Had to request
room be cleaned, room was cleaned 1 day of 6 night stay. After 3rd day and complaints, clean towels were brought and left at door in hallway. Beds were not made up other than the one day and used towels were never collected. This practice was not revealed to us until a question about why the room had not been cleaned and towels and trash removed. This information was not on the website through travelociity and/or Bamboo Waikiki Hotel. The room was run more like an apartment whereby the tenants clean their own rooms disposing of trash and addressing their own towel issue. Totally unacceptable. Having no other viable choices we stayed.

When booking flight, it showed parking was included. When we arrived to check in, not only did we find out it was not included but you had to pay for every day and that parking was full and not available. Was made to look around offsite for parking. Terrible.

Didn't have any heavy issues with the property. In walking distance to a lot of big shopping areas. Cleanliness if the room was ok until we found a roach the size of my entire thumb behind the tv stand. Very unfortunate.

The pool area was great but the room had a lot of wear and tear. Needs better appliances in the Kitchen, toaster only toasted on one side.
Great location but for the price charged they need to look at upgrading some parts of the room. But overall enjoyed my stay as I always do in Oahu.

Not only dated looking, but also not the cleanest. Needs a deep clean. BUT, the room was clean, which was the most important to me. As long as I had a nice place to crash after being out all day, I was fine with it

Overall 4 stars, just because we’re not extra. We used the same sheets and towels the 7 nights we were there. Would’ve liked for them to be changed once. Parking is limited to about 10 spots below deck. If you’re the last car to be in on at night, it’s almost impossible to get into that last spot. It was very tight. Many times beach towels weren’t available. One elevator was down the whole time we were there while the other one was intermittently out. Emergency stairs were steep and narrow. The facility did have a nice pool with a hot tub and several straw roof cabanas with plenty of sitting. We never got a chance to used it. The pool was closed by the time we get back to the hotel in the evening. Our room did come with a small kitchen so we were able to cook some meals.

The Bamboo Waikiki Hotel was a good fit for our family. The rooms are large and comfortable, the pool and hot tub are nice and the location is unbeatable.
For people considering staying here, one thing to know is that the hotel doesn't provide cleaning service for stays under seven days. That means you constantly have to be asking the front desk for shampoo, soap, toilet paper and fresh towels, plus taking out your own garbage and asking to borrow a broom to sweep.
We are a family of five, and when we would ask for things, say shampoo, the attendant would always want to hand us just one little travel-sized bottle. We would insist and more and they would provide it.
Overall, this was a good place to stay and I would recommend it to other families.

Good location, near shops, beach and main part of Waikiki. Room basic, but sufficient, as reflected in price. Had laundry, pool etc all in good working order. Two quibbles, one that house keeping didn’t clean the room, after we made a booking to have it cleaned. Also when we had our towels refreshed there was no bathmat, or face towels. Would recommended for family or couple looking for longer stay.

The location of the hotel is in a great spot to walk to the beach or the Waikiki Strip. But if you walk one way you’re going through a bunch of homeless people and condemned businesses. If you go the other way, it’s thriving businesses and local shops. Make sure you pick the right way. Also, there is a cleaning fee That I was unaware of that must be paid upon check-in with no maid service at all for your room. You have to take your own garbage out, bring your own dirty towels down, make your own bed and go downstairs to pick up any extra garbage bags, toiletries, clean towels, extra blankets and anything else u require.I was honestly pretty disappointed by this. I don’t mind if my beds not made but I definitely would like a clean towel change at least once in my stay. The staff were friendly enough, but it was very obvious that they had been asked the same questions about the maid service, and it was beginning to become a nuisance on them as well.
What once was a cute eclectic hotel off the strip is now a rundown motel feeling.

When we showed up 45 minutes prior to 3:00 to check in. We were told we couldn’t check in until 3:00. Then it came to 3:00 and was told cleaning crew were not done. Mind you there was also 4 other groups waiting to check in. One elevator was broken, paint touch ups not matching, didn’t clean room everyday or get fresh towels even being charged a daily fee for cleaning, hot tub had awkward seating, and the bar was byob… The good things is it’s walking distance to Waikiki beach, food options and shopping. The layout of the room was nice as well.

No maid service.
There was not any maid service so you had to "order" clean towels but did not know this when we arrived. No clean towels day two. After ordering new towels for day three we were shorted and they told us they ran out. What?? Only 10 parking spaces or so on property so we had to park 2 blocks down. No free parking on site either. Room was clean and neat just crazy no maid service.

You were in charge of taking your trash out as they do not clean your rooms but every 7 days you need to ask for towels, coffee, toilet paper and there is only one elevator that takes quite awhile if your parking a car! Been going for 11 years and will probably not go back! Made me super sad,and the staff were not very welcoming as they were always so friendly in years past.

We (group of three) found it was overall pleasing to stay at bamboo Waikiki. The area is great and many of the top shops & restaurants are in the walking distance. If you enjoy the busy vibe, you will love it here! However the downside of being in the Waikiki core is it can be very loud at night, with cars or motorcycles, loud exhaust and blasting music etc. Additionally the sofa bed was not well prepared and we had to ask for extra blankets to use them as covers since the hotel didn't provide a mattress cover for the sofa bed, but we managed with the help of the friendly front desk staff.

They charged an unexpected cleaning fee at check in, blaming on Expedia for not notifying about it. The lady at check in was pretty rude about that. The room was old and unpleasant, totally different than the one described on the web site. No room service and cleaning during the entire stay. Room was very noisy. Facing an alley (more like the wall of the building next to it). Small balcony with some broken glasses on the floor. Overall not a pleasant stay.

Poorly appointed air bnb with minimal amenities !!
It is not ran as a hotel. There is no room services. No trash pick up. No clean towels or clean replacement beach towels when requested- the response was always the laundry service is offsite or inconsistent and they did not know when clean towels would be available. If they are going to run this like an Air BnB then they should provide better instructions letting the guests know what to expect such as “you will only be provided with one set of beach towels”. If the “hotel”expects you to dispose if your own trash then they should also provide instructions on where to dispose and they should provide some extra trash bags in the rooms. For a stay greater than 3 nights they should just automatically provide guests with an extra set of towels from the beginning of the stay and let us know this is all that will be provided during the stay and give directions to a laundromat. This would clarify expectations from the start of the guests stay. Please take note if you plan to continue to run your “hotel” in this manner. Provide better instructions in writing in the room, provide extra trash bags and extra towels from the start of the stay. This is a minor investment if you expect repeat customers and it would decrease the number of NO’s we get from the front desk “hotel” attendant.

Good & Bad, Vacation is what you make it! :-)
The Good: Location was amazing! Pool area was fabulous. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Apartment with kitchen met our needs.
The Bad: Filthy room. Mold growing on furniture. Sofa was stained including mattress on sofa bed which hotel did not even try to cover this up with a mattress cover. Only 1 day of housekeeping services offered, which wasn't an issue to us we just asked for fresh towels and took out our own garbage. Not fair to charge for a cleaning fee for the filth we endured.

the room we were given 3004 had stains on the wall and after we became sick and took a closer look it turned out it was black mold all over the walls i took a video of the walls and room number .our vacation was ruined and we are home and still suffering from the affect of being exposed to the black mold .
We would expect a full refund for our stay as it is not acceptable to expose customers to such a dangerous health hazard !!! If i was the manager i would refund in full asap and have all the rest of the rooms checked asap and abated of mold were required for the safety of future guests.
the staff did give us another room but by then we were already very sick.

The hotel is fine, however the staff is not very helpful and borderline rude when asked for help. We enjoyed our stay due to Hawaii itself, but honestly the hotel was the worst part of the trip. Our TV didn’t work, and the hotel does not clean the room during your stay. You are responsible for cleaning your room as well as taking out your own trash. When we asked for trash bags, it took a day to receive new ones. Overall the hotel was the worst part of the trip, other than the location.

I think the people here are very nice but Expedia doesn’t line up with the hotels policy so for example I was promised a deposit to be returned to my bank account and the hotel told me that no deposit even existed and it was a cleaning fee so I went way over my budget without even knowing because of Expedia wrongly saying it was a deposit. I’m super sad about that and lost a lot of my money and as a student this makes me not want to use Expedia again because they don’t watch out for things like this and it’s too risky and I still haven’t gotten my moneys worth. If Expedia is willing to give me back the deposit they promised me I would get I would gladly book again but I highly doubt they will reach out unfortunately. The hotel can’t even do anything. PS never use the hotel atm they will charge you at least 30 $ US for the conversion of money. Lobby Staff and restaurant staff are super nice I love them so sweet people.

Older hotel with convenient location
We stayed here for 9 nights. It is an older hotel with a less than 3 min walk to beach. The best features are its location, the small, pool/hot tub area that provides a small, green oasis surrounded by concrete hotels, and extremely helpful, friendly staff.
We had a 1 bedroom suite that had a small kitchenette that could use a few more items ( most notably, a better frying pan that does not warp on contact with element that made it necessary to cook in small batches where pan stayed in contact with element) Full sized fridge/ freezer and microwave were appreciated, We were pleased that we made the decision for a hotel with cooking options, especially when we saw the long lineups at restaurants every night.
Good cleanliness, good air conditioners, however, there was a strange smell upon returning to the room at the end of the day that quickly went away as soon as opened the patio door.. The bed was decent comfort but a little short for my 5’11’ husband. No daily room cleaning, however, quick response time for every request for towels, dish soap, etc. Overall, if you are looking to save a little money by choosing a hotel with cooking options for part of your stay with a great location, we would recommend this hotel.

Very close to Waikiki beach and shopping. Exceptional staff. My only complaint is that we stayed for 14 days and it would have been nice for housekeeping to come in and clean at least once during our stay. Overall we had an amazing vacation.

I would give this property a 2 star. The reason is because they have limited parking in which on top you have to pay $30 a night. On top of that, we tried going to their pool, and it was disgusting because it wasn’t clean. We found cockroaches, they have no room service, and the place to do laundry wasn’t not clean at all. The property is located in a very nice place, depending on who’s at the front desk is what type of service you will get, and we feel like this property should do better and the owner should Advertise what they really have.

We LOVED this hotel, everything from our room, the staff, the location and the pool/tiki area and ambience was AWESOME! They even provide complimentary beach towels and chairs during your stay which is super helpful.

We stayed 10 days and our room was never cleaned! They said they no longer did this. Also had to fight to get towels and washcloths each day. It took until our third day to finally get a couple washcloths then we ended up having to wash them ourselves and reuse

We had a family trip there for 9 people. This hotel was everything we needed and more. The staff was friendly from the front desk ladies to the maintenance man. They were very accommodating. The pool and hot tub were nice and we had it to ourselves most of the time. They have a restaurant in pool area. We felt at home here and we were walking distance to beach, shopping, and restaurants. Parking was limited but the staff provided alternative options. Thanks Bamboo Waikiki for making our stay so perfect!!! <3 your Texas family

Staff were lovely. Pool area was very cool. Room and room service was very poor. Functions fine, but very old and our room constantly stank. We bought air freshener to make it manageable. Expected something slightly modern, but it was very old. Carpet was a little gross to walk on.

The service was nice. The pool area is ok. My room was remodeled sort of so it looked clean. However the sheets were dirty😬 thats a big no no. Elevator is extremely sketchy and the only way up or down. It's a great location. It's ok to sleep, eat and shower.

Pros and cons
Overall I was happy about my stay. Cons are: 1. small garage 2. Old property that needs painting or remodeling in some areas. 3. A little dingy looking in the lobby and elevators. 4. May take a few hours to get requested towels or blankets due to only one housekeeper. Pros 1. Rooms are very clean and pretty much look like pictures except maybe furniture is not as new but still decent2. Pool area is quiet and looks very pretty at night 3. Pool restaurant food is really good and you can byob. 4. It’s a 5 minute walk to Waikiki beach and malls 5. Musubi cafe next door and poke across the street so nice to be able to grab a quick bite 6. Friendly staff 7. Overall hotel was pretty quiet. 8. Pretty views off of balcony at night

First of all, I would like to do a special shout out to the amazing front desk lady, Jhara. She is amazing! She took care of us during our stay. As soon as I stepped inside the lobby, I was greeted by her beautiful smile aloha style! She made sure that we've got what we need. The rest of the staff are very friendly as well. Great experience overall and I will comeback for sure in the near future. Keep up the great work Jhara! keep giving the same smile to other guests and the hospitality you made us feel.

I called the hotel twice to ask about parking before checking in to the hotel noone informed me that i was supposed to book parking in advance. So i couldnt say in the hotel over night. Had to sleep at my friends house. What was even the point of booking this hotel if i couldnt say here. Shouldnt have just wasted my money. The lady who chceked me in should really quit the job. No customer service. She didnt even bother to explain anemities of the hotel. I am a front desk agent too and from this experience this front desk lady sucked at her job. Just terrible experience over all. Never will i ever stay here.

This place is perfect if you plan on exploring the island. A straight forward place to stay, friendly staff, an incredible pool side restaurant with great people. I can’t say enough of it! Our best value meal was there, good and fairly priced.
The hotel was not luxury at all but the pool area is a nice little paradise. Our room was a bit small, bed seemed small too. But this is exactly what we wanted. A place to stay, cheap, and close to the beach. I had an incredible time celebrating my 22nd birthday!

Everything about this hotel was great except on the cleanliness; if you run out of toilet paper or towels or may need something they don’t really follow up everyday to restock like most hotels do so most likely you’ll have to go ask for the needs at the front desk.

This property was not as advertised. Upon arrival, we did not receive the room we booked (a queen bed and 2 sofa beds) and when we approached the staff, they stated “Expedia was advertising rooms that don’t exist.” It took about 2 hours of arguing to get something equivalent, and we were repeatedly told there was nothing they could do about “what Expedia advertises.” The hotel is older and run down, which wouldn’t be an issue, but it’s also not maintained. The safe didn’t work, the door to the room was a struggle to close, and the hot tub didn’t work. The staff seemed to not care about the guests at all, it became a struggle to get something as simple as toilet paper. When we mentioned to others where we were staying, all seemed to have negative things to say - mostly about how rude the staff were. It wouldn’t be an awful place to stay with a staffing overhaul.

Disappointment in Local Hotel
The hotel didn't have any housekeeping so we ended up using bath towels over & over. Laundromat was in balcony, not good for someone who is afraid of heights. Flooring in room was rough not like pics. They have a restaurant but its not manage by hotel so no room service. Pretty much its a room to sleep in with minimal amenities and poor service. Was a bit disappointed.

Things to know: this is a budget property. They do NOT service the rooms. It is an apartment building and airbnb filled building with a couple hotel rooms. I was told during check in to keep my beach towel all week because they run out. The bedding is supposed to be white but was stained and grey. They often ran out of clean towels for rooms to the point 9ne woman wasnt given any and they couldnt do anything about it. They didnt have enough bedding for the pull out couch in our room even though we called in advance to make sure they knew wed be using it and gave us two fitted sheets and one pillow.
The hot tub broken down one 9f the days for about 48 hours. It was not maintained well and it was milky looking (you could see it from the hotel room).
Our mini fridge leaked the entire time so we had to keep a towel in front of it the entire time.
It rained a lot on the last slday and we put our luggage in the storage area when we checked out and it flooded.
Good things: the staff was very friendly. The resturant is byob. At night the pool area is beauitful with the lights. Exteremly close to the main strip and beach.
If you are looki g for a super place to stay and dont care much about quality this place will do.

The property really needs to be renovated, it is too old! All beddings are cheap and dirty! we were awful cold, but no extra blanket available when asked front desk.

The bed and pillows were like made of bamboo. Way too firm and uncomfortable. I'm a local taking a stay-cation and had to go home to get a comfortable pillow in order to get some sleep. Also, safe batteries were dying so a constant and random loud chirping kept waking me all night. Not the property's fault but jacuzzi was unavailable for my entire stay; which was tragic because one of main reasons I selected hotel online was the jacuzzi.

the staff goes over and beyond to satisfy there customers the receptionist are great i couldn’t have asked for a better room and they are also flexible i enjoy my stays here and they have definitely grasped me as a regular great job bamboo hotel staff

This hotel is absolutely awful. The pictures DO NOT match what the rooms look like and are misleading. It is outdated, run-down, infested with bugs/rodents, noisy, small, and disgusting. We checked in, saw the condition of the hotel and room, and immediately checked out and found other accommodations. There were rodent droppings in the hallway and on the walls along the trim. There were dead bugs on the floor in our room. You could not pay me to return to this hotel.

We didn't stay here much only at night to sleep. We were on the second floor just over the lobby. The street noise was very loud! Might bring ear plugs with you. Otherwise all way good.

I had bad time guest services where great but the bed linen was very dirty . The bottom sheet had pet hair and other people hair . And what made it so bad was I found. A roach and then I packed up and had to leave .
