Decent average hotel. They are doing some updates and maintenance on the hotel. Elevator was out of service and their restaurant was being remodeled. Great location for jumping on and off the freeways.

Loud, no airport shuttle despite the website saying there was. Weed and smoke smell, holes in walls, sink installed backwards and the water pooled and did not drain. Lamps did not work.

NEVER AGAIN!
AWFUL SERVICE!
Never again! I am an Active Duty PCSing to Norfolk. My family and I drove EIGHT HOURS. We left home at a specific time thinking the check in was 3 PM just like any other hotel. Halfway through the travel, my wife noticed that they don’t check in until 4 PM. So we called them and asked if we could check in an hour early? The lady asked how far away I was. I said currently 4 hours away and we should be there around 2:45 and 3 PM. She said okay to call back again when I’m 30 minutes away and she will leave a note on my reservation so when I called back, they’ll know.
At 30 min away, I called back and a guy answered this time. He said there’s no note on my reservation and he needs to check if the room was ready. He put me on hold for the entire 30 minutes till I got there myself. I went to the front desk, a lady with a manager name tag said “an early check in is ONLY FOR MEMBERS”. When I explained that I called ahead and we just drove 8 hours, she said “the room is not ready anyway”. I went back to my car, we were all tired, especially my 9 months pregnant wife who just wanted to take a shower and lay down. We took a nap in the car and went back to check in at 4. I tried to cancel the reservation while in the car, but it was a non refundable one.
The check out is 11 am. So from 11 am to 3 pm, the room was not ready, and magically it was ready from 3 pm to 4 pm.
On top of that, our stay was not pleasant at all. NEVER AGAIN!

Never stay again!
Over charged me. Roaches on back of toilet. No where to put luggage but on bed. Toilet stool ran all night. I was not satisfied at all.

Comfortable beds but smelled like weed
Great customer service in the beginning. We stayed 6 nights. We requested our bedding be changed a few nights in and they just MADE the beds. We knew they weren't changed because we dripped a juice and the spot was still there. When we called to talk to front desk , no one would answer so we walked to the desk. They just handed us new sheets.... the hallway and elevator always smelled like weed! We had a 2 year old with us. So didnt appreciate that at all. The wall outlets and plugs were hanging out. Not kid friendly! Customer service when leaving was not friendly. Never said how was your stay, hope you have a good day...nothing. just what was my room number and they would email me my receipt. There was never even a cart so we could carry everything out at 1 time. Had to make 2 trips to the 3rd floor.

If you need a place to stay, its ok. There was considerable mold in the shower, the hotel is older and tired, and I got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes between floors. The emergency phone did not work in there - I had to use my cell phone. The staff appeared fairly nonchalant, so it must happen a lot. The restaurant in the hotel is decent and it is close to highway -- But for $600 for three nights - you can find a much better hotel.

Let me start by saying that I don't care what people smoke in general, I just expect in a non-smoking property that I can get away from it. The weed smell was so strong we had to be moved to a new room in a different part of the hotel. Entire property is filthy, little things broken everywhere. Breakfast is inadequate for the price charged. The ONLY bright spot was the pleasant staff. If you smoke you might love it but if you don't, just avoid it.

The area around the hotel is very convenient to the beach and for any amenities like food, gas etc. Easy to get to main road to head to Virginia Beach. Hotel was very clean. Pool is well maintained. Only issue was ice machine on our floor wasn’t working but we were able to get ice at the bar.

The bathroom in our room was dirty. Visible dirty disgusting. I when downstairs to let them know and they changed me to another room but the other room was even worse. It has a horrible smell and the bathroom look like it haven't been cleaned in years. Clearly we didn't stay in that room.

The Ice machine don't work on any floor of the entire hotel , the shower was not well clean the tiles are black of mold 😱 and the room smell Bad. My daugther was SO ichie in the bed.

The room was ridiculously dirty. We paid for a non-smoker room and it smelled like a smoker just moved out. I couldn’t sleep at all because you could hear everything from outside and people were extremely noisy on a Sunday night. Hands down the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I will not be back.

There is a musty smell that hits you the second you walk in. It permeates the whole place and makes it hard to breathe. I’m not sure where it was coming from or whether it had anything to do with the really old and loud AC units but that smell was disgusting. The lobby is okay but the carpet in the hallways is gross and visibly old. The elevators also have this really nasty carpet. When we were walking through the hallway to our room we could see a big roach on an outdoor wall through window. This set the tone for the rest of the stay. There was also a dead bug near the door of our room which was just nasty. There also needs to be more places to charge devices. Aside from one outlet ,which the AC unit was plugged into, and a clock with two USB ports. There really weren’t many places to charge your phone. Also, one of the USB ports didn’t even work. In the bathroom, the tiles looked old and the wallpaper had stains on it. The sink looked kind of updated but it was slanted in a way that didn’t allow it to drain properly which made it hard to wash your hands or really use it at all, because the water would start rising quickly. The curtains also need to be changed out because they had stains as well.

OK place for one day business trip
Good location. Seemed safe although you have to drive from here to get anywhere. Room fine. Short on places to plug in chargers. No USB ports. Bathroom/shower OK. Hallways and common areas not clean.

My wife and I found a dirty footprint on our sheet. The electricity on one wall was out. There were nail clippings by the TV. We only stayed two nights of the four night stay. The manager on duty stated she would send me a correct bill, but I still haven't received it.

Property was nice. But they didnt clean the rooms or give enough towels. The breakfast on weekday was really good off menu. Last day was buffett and waas not as good quality. Pool was nice and rooms were comfortable. Couldn't use the slidimg door to the pool thoughas it was broken.

Pros:
- The staff members were friendly at check-in and check-out.
- Overall the hotel was quite.
- Comfortable beds and pillows
Cons:
- The pictures online are very deceitful. In person, the hotel is run down. There were several eye sores throughout the hotel once you pass through the lobby. The furniture in my room (dresser, nightstand, table) were extremely scratched up, chipped, and dusty. There were stains on the curtains and wall. Not to mention the sprinkler in the bathroom was rusted and their were stains on the counter of the sink. Also, the lights by the bed did not work.
- Some areas of the parking lot are dimly lit so I had to drive around the parking lot waiting for a parking spot in a lighted area to open. Being a mom with a small child checking in a night time I wasn't comfortable.

Our room was clean and just what we needed for our stay. The service at the restaurant wasn’t good but the staff was friendly. My husband’s apple juice glass had red lipstick on it. The table behind us stayed dirty the entire time we were being serviced. The staff were fussing in the kitchen.

If you’re looking for an average hotel near the airport, this one’s for you. Super standard hotel with a restaurant attached and a bar. Beds were nice, the room overall was average. Can’t say the same for other rooms but ours saw better days. Area around the windows showed signs of leaks, the pull out bed was terrible and didn’t have sheets or a blanket, the shower area wasn’t cleaned very well, and we saw not one, but two roaches in our room. Again, average at best

First noticed the trash overflowing in the outside trash can. The lobby was lovely, but very hot and humid. We enjoyed having the bar available and got a couple of drinks and an appetizer before our event. The bar tender was very friendly and fast service. Our room was on the 6th floor and you could feel the dampness as soon as you got off the elevator. The floor in the room felt damp like it had just been cleaned, but I believe it was just the moisture in the room. The bathroom was so humid you almost couldn’t breathe in there. Maybe the lower floor rooms were not as bad.

The hotel was nice.. Brandon at the front desk was very gracious.
Our room however left quite a bit to be desired. Very welcoming and clean in appearance. But, there was no hot water in the shower both mornings that we were there. (the evening shower was fine). We had to open the back of the toilet every time we used it and because it wouldn't fill back up automatically. The mini fridge froze all of the food that we had stored. The air conditioner constantly leaked a messy pool of water (not just a few drops) into the carpet that made the entire corner of the room where the table was inaccessible for the length of our stay because the carpet was soaking wet.
Other than that, the place was pretty. We had a nice sunset view that overlooked the pool area.

Not worth it
This hotel is in serious need of updating. The furniture in the room was all chipped, the bathroom fan was hanging off the wall and the carpet was fraying. The furniture in the lobby showed its age. My daughter and I were approached out front of the hotel by a panhandler one morning. I’ve stayed at other hotels in VA Beach and won’t be staying here again.

Entire place had no attention to detail for cleanliness. Stayed 4 nights and room was never cleaned. Stairwell smelled like pee and door at bottom had a sign that said do not prop open while being propped open. When we were checking in an employee was "scolding" another employee at the desk. A homeless woman was begging for money upon checkout. Only on the weekends was there someone at the tiny coffee shop, it was Starbucks so naturally I knew it would be pricey. Coffee came to 3.90, gave the girl and $10. She asked if i wanted my change. Was told bar was open until 10 daily, went down on last night we were there at 9- they closed early.

No cleaning services available. The carpet in the hall ways and the rooms are dirty need to be replaced. Inside the hotel is so old and seems like never been maintained for many years. Elevators are dirty. So the common areas smell bad and also outside the building had a trash all over the place. You can see some rats wondering around. This is not thr Holiday Inn i stayed before.

The check in personnel were all very nice and professional. The property was very dirty, the maids were rude and worst of all the rooms were full of fruit flies and the property was very unkempt outside. I will not be staying there again. Very disappointed. I had 2 rooms both were unsatisfactory.

Nice stay, nice Holiday Inn.
This was a great stay! Check in was simple and quick and the lobby was was cool and clean on a hot MD day. The hotel is situated just down the street from the University of Maryland and several eateries including a great vegan spot, a Sweet Green, Blaze Pizza, Popeyes Chicken and a yummy frozen custard place right next door. There are also two grocery stores nearby one being a Trader Joe's! The first thing we loved and appreciated was the full sized Dove products in the bathroom; great job IGH! The lobby pantry was well stocked with snacks and items you may have forgotten to pack for your stay. The pool area seemed nice though we didn't go but there were families there enjoying. The complementary breakfast was well stocked and worth it; this was no continental breakfast. There were sausage and biscuits assorted yogurts, waffle machine and assorted juices and cereal. Nice stay, nice Holiday Inn.

The building and pool was nice on the outside, the room we had wasn’t the cleanest. Our bathroom had a lot of soap scum everywhere and very rusty, there was some items left in the room from previous guests, looked like prom corsage and boutonnière. There were two roaches seen. Sold my room after telling them I was running behind due to terrible luck with flights causing me to be late. I communicates twice with the front desk. Still when I arrived my trim was not ready. They offered me a lesser room. Accused me of not knowing my reservation information. After showing them and arguing more I was finally able to wait 30 min for my room to be ready.

Stay somewhere else !!!! Summer time and they decide not to have the pool opened. It was supposed to be opened Friday at 4pm, then 6pm. Saturday came and went still not opened. Claimed the PH levels were not correct all weekend. They just didn't want to open it because they had LAX teams there and didn't want to deal with the kids. Well then DONT take their money !!!!!

Unfortunately, this place did not meet my expectations in terms of cleanliness, safety and staff behavior. My room was never cleaned for three consecutive days even after contacting the front desk multiple times. Room supplies were never replenished. There were three metal objects protruding on the side of the bed. I was unreasonably charged.

My wife couldn’t sleep there because she saw some roaches by the bathroom wall, she had to leave the premises and went to stay at the Delta hotel where her brother booked her a room since my meeting went too long and I didn’t have access to my phone. The manager Rachel Green was notified about the incident!

Not a good experience.. traveling with husband and 11 yr old daughter… room door had issue closing properly and manager came after we requested help to fix it… then asked for soap to take baths and extra towels and it took way too long to get them… they cleaned the toom when we left and when we got back the comforters on both the beds smelled dirty like body sweat… absolutely disgusting… so we called the front desk and the person we spoke to told us housekeeping was gone and she would “see what she could find” when we asked for new comforters… Husband and I were livid… Worst Holiday Inn experience we ever had… pool was closed as well… the room rates didn’t match how the facilities were being upkept and it also didn’t match the terrible customer service we got from the employees… The employees at the front desk were actually very helpful when we were checking out and the manager did try to assist us with our concerns during our stay but We Will Never Stay There Again! I Do Not Recommend This Place At All!

The staff and service were wonderful. We were greeted by the two kindest ladies. The room was clean and comfortable, but the pool area is under construction. I am glad I realized this now, so I don't book it in the summer, when I would be expecting to cool off!

I didn’t like that I couldn’t get a late check out and I didn’t get to the hotel until after 1:00am due to my flights being cancelled and re-routed. It was obvious that I had some delays getting to the hotel but I paid for the hotel stay in advance. I also traveled from the west to east coast. I made a long journey and the airlines service was bad. I was hoping my hotel few hours stay at the hotel would have been a little more accommodating. I had paid in advance for a package deal.

Cleaning Service was terrible.......
The service at this hotel was Amazing. The only issue I had was the fact my room was not cleaned the next day. When I came back to the room from my daughter's competition the room was just how we left it. I had to take my trash out on my own which was no problem. The drawers on the dresser were unleveled. They wouldn't stay close.

THIS IS THE WORST HOLIDAY INN I HAVE EVER STAYED IN??
We had to go to 3 rooms before we had somewhat decent accommodations. The first room had deterioration in the window sill and DOG paw prints on the bed. NO animals are allowed! The second room had NOT been prepared. The 3rd room still had some of the curtain falling at the window.
For the inconvenience, the clerk gave us complimentary gift cards to the restaurant inside the hotel. Booth Cloth seats were WET from the rain coming in through the window that you could physically see. The items that we chose on the menu was NOT AVAILABLE. We drove to Smokey Bones.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE for towels or anything else.

We liked the location but our room was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait over an hour. When our room was ready it was dirty. Unfortunately due to the room not being ready, we were late to the funeral 😞 We would not choose to stay here again.

It was terrible because there were no clean towels and if you the front desk you were put on hold for more than 45 mins. Then when you do you dont recieve the services you requested . I had only 2 towel for the weeked .had to go to Walmart for towels

Almost flatout dirty. Carpets have thick dirt stains on them. Bathroom had mold growth ( took snapshots). Edges of the toilet and other crevices look gross. Behind the toilet had all kinds of gross stuff.

Disgusting - Dirty and not maintained - Stay Clear
First room they gave me looked like someone had party in there - it was trashed! I thought someone was still in the room. I took video to show the front desk. My friend's key didn't work and when he pushed on the door with his shoulder, it opened without the key. They apologized about it but no discount or upgrade. Stains all down the hallways and in the room. Bathtub faucet looked like it was about to fall off, stains on the counter, blackout curtain was hanging off the rod, floors were nasty in the bathroom. If it wasn't so late when I checked in, I would have left and found another hotel. There's a nightclub attached to the hotel - no thanks! I used to travel every other week for work and this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. And what's weird is, usually if I leave a hotel around 10:00 am, there are few cars in the parking lot but this place had a full parking lot still...it made me wonder if people are living here. They attempted to update this hotel at some point but they just put lipstick on a pig. Holiday Inn should drop this property - damaging to the brand.

The hotel look snice, but while teh bed was ok and the TV large, there was almost no water pressure in the shower - barely more than a light stream, and the commode would not flush properly and would then try to overflow. Finally, for a hotel of this caliber, we had to pay $8 for 2 cups of regular coffee? Seriously? No free coffee? Even the cheapest hotels offer this. No wwe know better for next time...
