Favorite hotel in Chicago
Wonderful as always. This is my favorite place to stay in the city. It’s sophisticated, yet not pretentious. Location is perfect - everything is walkable. Service is outstanding. Rooms are great! Lobby lounge is my favorite to hang out or work.

Ecstatic with the service and hospitality of the staff at Pendry. For being first time visitors to Chicago, we felt very welcomed. What really made our check-in great was the fact we were able to check-in around 10:45am. With an early arrival flight, we understood we may have had to leave our bags and come back at the 3pm check-in time later, but they already had a room available and we got extremely lucky. This will not be the case for everyone so please make sure of the hotels availability. The hotel bar was cozy and drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was classy and great for a date night filled with great conversation and reconnection. You can really tell the bartenders are experienced. Overall stay was exceptional for us. We will definitely be back to this hotel not only for its convenient location on the Millenium Mile, but their welcoming and friendly staff.

This hotel is located in an historic art deco building; but, aside from the elevator lobby, there's little evidence of that feature. In fact, the lobby area and our room lacked any sense of charm or welcoming. Our room was quiet, clean, and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was forgettable with horrible service and just okay food. My main beef was with the multiple errors in our billing. We had paid for the room through Expedia, but twice we were charged for the room during our stay plus other various and sundry suspicious charges. Eventually all the extra charges were dropped from our Visa bill, but not without a fair amount of phone calling and consternation on our part. I get the impression that the hotel's sole mission is to extract as many extra payments as possible from the clients.

An Absolute Gem in the City
Stunning location in a historic building. Outstanding staff- from the front desk to the doormen and housekeeping. Lovely large rooms, comfortable bed + room bonuses like phone charging kit, mini bar, coffee station, fluffy robe to lounge in… even the toiletries were great. Whether having food and coffee downstairs at the cafe or boozy lunch with live DJ in the bar… this place is literally a haven for rest and genuine enjoyment. A perfect mix of historic restoration + modern luxury. Absolutely recommended.

Outstanding customer service. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Early check in. V comfortable room. Loved the lounge by the gas log fire, especially in the morning with complementary coffee and fruit. V central location. Will stay again.

Pendry is the hotel you want in Chicago.
The gorgeous green exterior and the architectural beauty drew me in and the interior was even more beautiful. The Pendry candle smell was so lovely I brought one home for the memories. The staff were ever helpful. Restaurants and bars within the hotel were a luxury. The only thing missing was 4 hooks in the bathroom for 4 people. I will definitely be staying at the Pendry again.

Location and staff were excellent but the rooms are very small and hot water did not work in the bathroom. Once maintenance turned it back on it dripped all night. Went through also very loud around the property secondary to its location in Michigan Michigan Avenue with firetrucks and ambulances going up and down the street throughout the night.

We absolutely LOVED staying here. This is our first time at the Pendry. The room and bathroom sizes were great, and the architecture is stunning. We loved the Happy Hour offers - mussels, oysters, great wines - plus the fantastic, authentic service.
The bathroom amenities smell luxuriously amazing, there was a touch of class in everything.
The bar area was lovely as well. When we arrived, the front desk gave us a secret code to bring the bar tender to add some "sparkle" to our non-alcoholic welcome drink for free. We asked for a dash of gin. This made the experience so fun!
Thanks for making our Thanksgiving in Chicago so memorable.

Awesome location, good staff- housekeeping, doorman and guest services. Its walkable distance to the Riverwalk, the Millinium Park and the museums near by. My children, 10 & 14, loved to walk around and exploring the places.

I usually stay at Pendry few times a year if The Four Seasons not available and they have performed well with the exception of the last two stays.
After the last time mess, I gave it another try and that was a big mistake. I arrived early in the morning and they were confused about the reservation.
I specifically asked for a higher floor due to noise and they provided me with one of the lowest floor. Well, I guess I should be happy they finally gave me a room. No upgrade for the VIP status but that’s not the issue at all given it is a busy time of the year.
Then I asked if I could do a late check out since my flight was rescheduled and delayed for 7 hours and I only asked for 3 hours of extension and the front desk staff very rudely said that would not be possible.
The location is great but it seems as if they are moving towards a lower end of a service that. Where they used to be.
I would personally think twice before making a reservation there.
Very disappointing not with the room itself but with the service !

The Pendry Chicago is a wonderful hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The valet team was quick and kind. The location is great and close to many attractions and shopping. The hotel is clean and the room was beautiful. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The food at the bar is delicious! We will definitely stay here again.

The room we stayed and was extremely spacious and nice. We had a young child on our trip and the room was pleasantly child safe. Incredible views of the city. However, the elevator service was horrendous and the staff was not very attentive or pleasant.

Pendry has consistently been my preferred choice for travels, and my recent stay in Chicago reaffirmed this preference. The balance between quality and value remains excellent. The location is highly convenient, and, crucially, the housekeeping and cleaning standards are impeccable.

First time in Chicago and we loved staying at Pendry Chicago!! The location was perfect! The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The only thing that we didn't like was how loud it was. There was a loud noise through the entire hotel, seemed to be water running and you could hear the water through the pipes. Plus note that the hotel is right in the center of everything including a fire station nearby so it gets noisy at night.
We would stay here again because of the great experience we had. I would just take some earplugs for night time :)

Wonderful experience for my grandsons 1st visit to Chicago. Thank you Bob & Alex in concierge services you were both so very helpful with the best tickets and tours. Thank you Dolhpo & Perry who were excellent with assistance in transportation. Bartender (sorry don’t have his name) but his skills are impressive, the margaritas are delicious.

Love my stay at the Pendry. The first night I was there for business and stayed of the 8th floor facing Michigan Ave. it was noisy. However, I extended my stay and got a room on the 16 floor towards the back of the hotel and it was perfect. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They even brought me a microwave to the room to heat up my pizza. Will definitely come back.

It’s a city hotel in a terrific location, about a block from the Riverwalk. Many eating options, Millenium Park, museums, etc all within easy walking distance. The staff was outstanding from front desk to valets to bell staff - so helpful and well informed.

Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They initially gave us a large room on the 6th floor. Appeared like it could use some maintenance or minor upgrades for the money you spend to stay at the Pendry. It was also incredibly noisy and woke up so we asked to switch to a higher floor and they were kind enough to accommodate us which mostly helped all of our concerns. Room was really nice and a bit quieter.

The hotel itself is beautiful and well-designed and the employees who work there were wonderful. However, the curtain in our shower was broken so we were showering in the dark or avoid being seen by people on the street below and the car noises and street racing during the night were so loud it felt like we were outside. Our room was on the 6th floor so maybe it’s better if you’re higher up, but for such a nice hotel I wasn’t expecting that level of disturbance. Most nights it continued on until 3am.

I really wanted to love the Pendry after having seen the recently opened DC location, but i found it to be a bit disappointing. The rooms are nice, but they have a corporate, sterile feel. The location is convenient, but being located right on Michigan avenue means it is VERY noisy. We were kindly upgraded to a high floor room upon arrival, but even that didn't hide the loud traffic from the street. The big windows are lovely and afford nice city views, but they are not well insulated to noise. The staff was efficient and professional but not particularly friendly. Overall my stay was perfectly fine and the rate was reasonable for a downtown location, but there are finer options out there.

Beautiful hotel. Room was clean. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Great 24/7 room service. Well-equipped fitness room. Close to most attractions in the city. Would have liked a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Would definitely stay here again for future visits to Chicago.

Love the Pendry but a noisy room.
Always love staying at this hotel. This time the room was very close to the elevator shaft and the bed was abutting the adjoining wall. It made for a bit of noise and that was unpleasant. Apparently, there were no other rooms available which was unfortunate for a six night stay.

The location is unbeatable and the hotel is great. That said, there are misses. The restaurant has issues. We had breakfast and the service was mediocre. This sounds silly, but we all ordered coffee and there was only ONE container of sweeteners for the entire restaurant. A server came to "borrow" ours, saying that was the only one - we asked to keep a packet of sugar...it was strange. Not friendly at all and our food came out in pieces! I do not recommend eating in the hotel.

Location is great for Architectural tours. Being on Michigan Ave at the river was great for walking. Two blocks from the Loop the Chicago Theater, and the "L" stop at State and Lake. Easy to take L to Oak Park. Short distance to Millennium Park. Plenty of coffee and pastry places within a minute walk. 5 minute walk to the Apple Store. Quite room. Beautiful historic building.

Was really looking forward to staying at Pendry. Not disappointed. We were upgraded from a City King to a one bedroom tower suite. Amazing room and equally great views. Super friendly and helpful staff. Super clean room. The whole hotel has this amazing scent! Excellent location downtown Chicago.

The Carbine and Carbon Building is gorgeous and historic, I feel really lucky to have been able to stay there during my visit to Chicago. The Pendry staff was so friendly and professional, I was able to check in early, elevators were fast, and the room was large, clean, and beautiful. The cafe and food was outstanding. The location of this hotel is in the middle of all the sights, it’s the PERFECT hub when visiting the tourist attractions in Chicago. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
