Tub drain was a bit clogged. Walls feel like they are paper thin, since we can hear our neighbors conversations. Both me and my son got bit by bed bugs. We did not reflect to the hotel because we didnt want to have to change room and having to sanitize it.

It was an amazing stay. Everyone was so helpful and nice and we loved it. Waikiki was a bit too touristy for us on that side, but everything we needed was at the hotel. We particularly loved the art studio on site and the various cultural classes happening. Really, it's a fantastic all in one stay.

Beautiful location on the beach and is centrally located to everything happening in Waikiki. The room had beautiful views and was nicely appointed. The staff were always helpful and pleasant. John, the bellman is a wealth of knowledge. We had an administrative issue which was resolved promptly by Denis the hotel manager. We were pleased that he also offered some unexpected compensation. I'd stay here again.

The staff was friendly and excellent. We loved our room and the view was spectacular. We got the Voyager 47 package and found it to be a decent value. But if you will be trying a lot of area restaurants, it might not be cost effective for you. If you can, try to get the Ocean Tower, floors 9 or 10 - there's an express elevator and great views. The big pool is too cold. The internet said the ocean temperature was 77 F and the ocean was warmer than the pool. The 3 hot tubs were great. The room was clean enough although I think the vacuum cleaner could have used a fresh bag. I definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again.

Our room was very nice, the breakfast and afternoon hors d oeuvres at the club were a plus. The resort is right on the beach and is very centrally located to shopping, restaurants and tour pick ups.

During our five-day stay at this hotel with my family, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The hotel is situated in an excellent location with a breathtaking ocean view. The rooms are clean, adequately spacious, equipped with comfortable beds, and there are plenty of entertaining events. However, there are a few drawbacks to note: the lack of a welcoming committee upon arrival, particularly disappointing given our expectations; the restaurant, especially the breakfast, is prohibitively expensive with small portions, particularly evident in the case of salads, and a moderate level of quality. From my perspective, spending money at the hotel's restaurant is not justifiable. We had hoped for a varied daily breakfast menu and the inclusion of cold (as opposed to exclusively warm and hot) meal options.

When I checked out, I lost my suitcase waiting for the valet service. A few hours later, I visited the hotel again to ask about my luggage, but the hotel responded not kindly. The bag contained my blood pressure medication and diabetes medication, and my children's cold medication. I have 10 days left on the trip, but I am worried about my diabetes because I can't get my prescription medication.

Second visit since Covid. We come because that the hotel is modern (been renovated!) and location is perfect.
We do not recommend to buy ahead the breakfast vouchers as they only have 4 choices and toasts/OJ/fruits are all extras. It feels like a partial breakfast for $25 … ABC or local places around the corner have way better breaky for less.
Pool is excellent. Towels are cheap and not tick at all.

Restaurant and bar was excellent. Loved live music at both restaurants. However it would have been nice to have jacuzzi that waa larger. It was difficult to find it available except for early am. I woke up 8be sure to be there by 9:30 or n9 later than 10 am. Room service choices seemed limited n 79 year mom tried twice. Phone rang or put on hold for extended time.

The location is very nice, but the only experience at the hotel is grossly overpriced for the value. There was hair left in the shower from the previous guest, parking was 50/day on top of the room rate, the staff were friendly but inefficient,
The restaurant (monkey pod) had very mediocre food, and we honestly avoided it and didn’t end up even having our free breakfast.
All in all, would NOT recommend.

Travelled with my husband and adult daughter. Outrigger Reef was perfect for all of us!!! We walked to many locations. The hotel valet was timely and friendly. We had the town out of the front door and the beach out of the back door!!! Starbucks on site was a bonus for my husband!!!
We will definitely recommend this location to our friends.

Not my favorite vacation stay at hotel. Area was too crowded
Rooms where somewhat new and they where serviced each day yet the bathroom was still left dirty. Not too much attention to detail with the cleaning.
Didnt love access to beach. It was very disappointing
Overall maybe 2 1/2 🌟 stay. Not rushing back

This Outrigger reef hotel is very small. there are only 2 places to eat. They give you a breakfast voucher for one person. The breakfast menu is very small. Rooms are quite small for the price they are charging. The guys at the front bar were very good. We enjoyed the evenings talking with them.
Rory and Billie were great. Pool service was slow as there is only one waiter working.
The hotel is VERY loud. You can hear everything once in your room. Hotel housekeeping staff is very noisy at early morning hours.

- Great pool and hot tubs
- Beach front hotel/access
- Close to everything
Cons:
- Beds are on the firm side
- Beach front is VERY limited and does not include chairs and umbrellas
- Monkeypod restaurant which is on-site is overrated, slow to seat you and the food is underwhelming
- The other on-site restaurant located next to the pool was also a disappointment and overpriced for bland food
Overall, this Outrigger Reef is excellent!

Five star service at this resort. Staff are extremely helpful, kind and made you feel well cared for. Property is great location beach front. Highly recommend this resort . Best service and location in Waikiki. Rooms beautiful modern and extremely clean. Ocean views from room are stunning. Special thanks to manager Stanley for taking well care of us. Best customer service when travelled. He made sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. Celebrated our anniversary and had a beautiful welcome gift and upgraded room. Special thanks to Charlie at the pool staff. Very attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had towels, service and made us feel welcomed . I’ve stayed at Hyatt and Marriot and the reef outrigger is way better experience. I won’t stay anywhere else. The service is unbeatable. Great staff who really care about their guests. Really makes a difference to be treated so well when travelling. Pool is great. Micheal server at the pool is awesome. Great server.

This was an outstanding property! Our room was spacious and was overlooking the ocean, bed was comfortable, staff was friendly and attentive, the Monkeypod restaurant was great and also overlooked the ocean, and the location on the beach was perfect - a great spot and away from the heavy traffic. I seriously can’t think of anything bad to say - if we go to Honolulu again, we would definitely stay here!

The resort fees were exorbitant and they charged $100 a day for a rollaway for my kid. Breakfast was extra. Cleaning staff were amazing , front desk staff were ok, valets were friendly- main complaint was almost $1000 extra of hidden resort fees and taxes, so beware when u book it’s not the total.
Pool is freezing and gets no sun even on hot days it’s hidden by tall buildings. Monkey Pod restaurant is a great location. Music is great.

This is the second time I stayed at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. I find this hotel to be extremely enjoyable and always a pleasant experience. I love this hotel because it’s not massive but offers resort style. I stayed in an ocean view room and an ocean front room. Both have spectacular views. The grille has live music and if you’re lucky enough to stay on a Sunday, Nathan Aweau is a must see. The huli huli chicken is finger lickin good! The other restaurant, Monkeypod opened this year and it has breathtaking views of Waikiki. The margarita pizza is delicious! The hotel is in the heart of downtown Waikiki. It’s a prime location for walking. The hotel staff are amazing! I as a few hiccups in my trip and they helped in every way they could. Rick at the front desk is super helpful and kind! Mahalo!

Wonderful stay here, in spite of the beach being washed away. There was some beach access. Pool was too cold, but everything else was wonderful. Clean, convenient, comfortable. Nice amenities.

This may be an Expedia issue, the rate that I was given on Expedia was very different from what I was charged at the end of the stay, what was to be a remainder of $1900, ended up as $2500, that's a $600 mark up! I'd advise prepaying the full amount instead of paying a deposit, because the rate definitely changed. Or book direct with the hotel so you know what you're paying.

The Outrigger Reef staff were all very sweet. From checking in, to housekeeping, to the luggage attendants. Everyone is very helpful and the hotel is clean. We actually were upgraded for a discounted rate to an ocean view room and it was so worth it. The location is not overcrowded, which I like and the views are beautiful. I would definitely stay again.

The swimming pool and hot tub area was very clean and well staffed. I would have like to have more dining options. The two restaurants are very nice but geared towards young adults with live music. I would like a nice family-friendly restaurants that I can sit down and share a meal and have a conversation with friends. The two restaurants were too loud to enjoy a meal.

Cultural Center’s the best!
Amazing stay at the Outrigger, stayed there a few times at least 20 years ago before the renovations. Loved the old Outrigger better. The Cultural Center is great! Went there everyday at least 2-3 times a day. How knowledgeable the people who work there are. Learned a lot about Hawaiian culture.

this was the best hotel I stayed at in Hawaii. The service was absolutely amazing, I literally mean every person in that hotel had the best personalities EVER. The hotel also has the best amenities for a great price, breakfast with a view, pool with a bar, evens at night. Even the cleaning ladies would remind us of the fun events and they were the sweetest and kept the rooms spotless. The vallet men were the sweetest! They provided me with a map to all the best beaches to go too. The front desk desk gentleman was the BEST in arranging last minute changes and accommodating. I will be retuning to this hotel again, it was THE BEST.

Loved the hotel and staff. I know this is an issue that is a very difficult fix and I’m really not sure how or if it can be fixed but the area is losing its beach. The water is rising:( It would have been nice to have a bit more beach in front of the hotel. I would fear the ocean is going to take some of the buildings in the upcoming years.

We had a terrible stay at OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. First, having VIP Access, we expected a nice room. I've asked for the room upgrade but heard, "I am sorry, but we are fully booked." It was spacious and well-decorated but the farthest from the beach. Worst, we had an old, worn-out, overused mattress. I complained at the front desk and heard for the 2nd time, "I am sorry, but we are fully booked." Another surprise. Every night/morning between 4 and 5 a.m., a pickup truck pulled trash bins from the hotel garage and dumped them into the street. What a noise! Impossible to sleep. I complained about that at the front desk and heard for the 3rd time, "I am sorry, but we are fully booked." Finally, after our 9-day stay, I asked for a late checkout, which should also be one of the benefits of VIP Access. But guess what? I heard again, "I am sorry, but we are fully booked." After complaining a lot, they granted us 1-hour grace. I have traveled 3-4 times a year in the last 15 years. Without a doubt, I can say that the room we stayed in at the OUTRIGGER was one of the worst hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Terrible mattress and noisy.Some good things: Nice location. The staff was very friendly and polite but unable to fulfill any of your requests. Other not-so-nice things: The Pool did not have enough sun. Just 4-5 hours. Almost no sand in front of the hotel. My final decision in selecting the hotel was based on the promised VIP Access. What a shame Expedia.

Outstanding stay except for one rude staff member
Our stay at the Reef was amazing. We had a corner room with two balconies. We enjoyed both restaurants, especially Monkeypod Kitchen, and the convenience of having an ABC store on site.
The only down was an interaction with a staff member of the bell crew, Miho. We were waiting for our rental car to be picked up and we were approached rudely and aggressively as to why we were parked. We explained we were hotel guests and were waiting for the car to be picked up. As we were speaking to her, she just turned and stormed off. It was shocking. We saw her the next day and I told my husband that I did not want her to help us with our luggage but she insisted and inserted herself as we were talking to the other person who started to help us.

Overall, enjoyed the refreshed renovations - interior and pool area. Staff were friendly and responsive, property very clean. The primary reason for any downgrading is the lack of any beach. Since the last time we visited this property 8 years ago, the beach has been lost to erosion. If you are planning on sitting on a beach - you must visit another area.

We absolutely loved it here! The room with our three balconies: opening those curtains every morning with just the best views! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing. The food at both restaurants. The Mai Tais at monkey pod. Omg!!! The service. The housekeeping. Everything was 5* and we were sad to leave for sure. Thank you Outrigger Reef!
