Hawaii Stay
This hotel is in a good location, close to the beaches. It had a city view and small balcony. Just a few things like a whole in the sheet,and the battery in the safe was out, but they fixed it right away But Ming, our room steward, was wonderful. Anything we wanted he brought right away. I must have misread the information as I was surprised that it was a small lap lane, not a pool. Missed an outdoor pool with lots of sunshine and lawn chairs. There was a hot tub as well. Several nice restaurants within walking distance. I was surprised that the front desk staff and concierge did not seem to know how long it might take to get places, but they did check for us.
I called the hotel before we came asking about the options I had for a meeting place for our tour to Pearl Harbor and they were great in telling me that Ross Dress for Less was very close. It was only about 2 blocks from the hotel. For the price and for the nice people, I would stay there again, but it is not for those who want a pool experience in the sunshine.

Will definitely be visiting again
I was skeptical at first as I booked the room super last minute for a short trip. The hotel exceeded all of my expectations and overall am very happy with my stay. The location is one of the best that I’ve experienced on Waikiki beach so far without breaking the bank. There is a nice pool and hot tub on the first floor. My only complaint was the noise of the HVAC system running all day/night even when in the off mode. Other than that, the hotel and room was very clean, safe, and accommodating. Will definitely be visiting again.

Our family of 4 stayed at Waikiki Malia for 1 week. Our room was definitely in the wing that has NOT been upgraded. The tiny closet in the room had doors that wouldn’t close. The toilet paper roll in the bathroom was on the wall behind the toilet and under the sink. The lights were dim in the living area and the bedroom. The carpet was dingy and dirty. There was a light that had to warm up for 30 minutes before it would turn on in the kitchenette. The only window in the living area was frosted and unable to be opened. The elevator to our wing was broken the entire time of our stay. The shower was very small. And the bedroom was on an extremely noisy street. The trash trucks woke us up around 5:30am almost every morning. The city buses were very loud. And there was a motorcycle shop across the street from our room that had motorcycles coming in and out very loudly. PROS: The staff was very friendly. Our room was ready when expected. And the location was great to be able to walk to a lot of restaurants, shops, and Waikiki beach.

I was in town for a couple nights to run the
Honolulu Marathon.. I had a room that
was suppose to have a 'partial' ocean
view...There was 'zero' ocean view. Also
the toilet seat didn't stay up, and when it
fell down on the bowl it went 'boom!', like
a gun shot. Also the elevator to my floor
wasn't working, so I had to take the service
elevator the whole time.. By the time I checked out it still wasn't fixed..!!

Cute little hotel
Quick little trip back home and decided to stay in Waikiki. The Malia was a great price and we enjoyed our stay. Although I do wanna say the parking garage is a bit tight, I ended up scratching my rental van on the way up the ramp lol.

The first room they gave us was right next to the microwave and ice machine, very noisy. Moved to a different room, but I believe the AC wasnt working right, some kind of chemicals dripped onto the table below the vent. Parking there is terrible! Someone hit our car, and we dont know who it was, and the hotel said they are not responsible.

Worth the money in terms of location
Amazing location, two blocks from the major shopping street in Waikiki and from the International Exchange Mall. Parking building was a bit tight but we survived. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was a last minute reservation and we were so happy about this.

Nice clean and easy access to beach
The hotel was generally clean and decent. The staff was friendly, and the housekeeping team was excellent. However, there is room for improvement in terms of soundproofing, as noise from other rooms and constant road traffic can be heard throughout the day and night. Additionally, the pool is more suitable for a quick dip to cool off rather than swimming but loved it and would recommend it, if you are on a budget.

On the 3rd day, after coming back to my room from a day of shopping, security knocked on my door to open up…they didn’t even give me time to check the peephole before the 2 men barged into my room! I was unaware that the hotel has a policy that allows security to enter a guest room after having the Do Not Disturb sign for more than 3 days. Security didn’t even try contacting my cell phone to alert me beforehand.

What I loved most about this property is that ALL of the staff remembered us by our names and greeted us all day everyday making our stay very appreciative and welcomed and it meant so much to us knowing the staff took that much pride and dedication in their job to remember the guest by names and the overall property and amenities were EXECELLENT and the shopping and beach access was all within walking distance and we’ll Definitely stay here again Thank You So Much!!! I have stayed at this hotel a few times now. We stayed in the Malia tower which has been updated and has cute decor. The hotel is smallish (not a resort) but is in a great location. Very walkable, lots of food and shops right outside the hotel, IHOP and sports bar are attached to the hotel which is great. The bus stop is across the street and the trolleys are less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. There is plenty of parking but it is a bit of a harrowing experience getting in and out. All in all it is great spot to explore Waikiki and Oahu!

Everything was great except for them banging on our doors very loud while we were sleeping, saying because we kept the door tag out not wanting anybody to come in for the whole four days we were there. That's never happened to us before as being frequent travelers. We just wanted our privacy. And for them to be banging on our doors is extremely rude

Newly renovated hotel in Waikiki. We were on the 18th floor. Nearest working ice machine was on the 9th floor. Walking distance to many eating places. Stayed at the hotel this past July too. Likely to return here on our next visit to Oahu

Our room was fine, but rhe bathroom was not clean around the toilet/around the toilet seat. Pretty gross actually. The lack of towels and lack of good customer service were disappointing. Never a good experience at the front desk.

I rented a car for two days the parking was very tight and difficult to maneuver. One way in and out I would not stay there if I rented a car for my 2-week stay
the pool was small couldn't sun yourself, but that's ok I was at the beach. To me the parking lot was the issue very bad design Staff was great !

Check in was easy. It’s a very convenient hotel for location. It’s a great hotel if you are stopping over. I would not recommend it for families as the rooms are very small. The pool area is not convenient and definitely not great for families. Check in was great and rooms are clean.

Everything was great aside from the bathroom. It wasn’t clean, the tub and the shower head. The bottom of the bathroom door is pretty worn down, and the metal thing protruding located on the bottom corner of the door that’s design to prevent the door from hitting the tub almost came off. It wasn’t completely bolted down with the screw. I would’ve given it 5-stars had it not been this nuances. The hotel is in prime location, in the heart of Waikiki. Walkable to anywhere. For a 3.5 stars hotel that I’ve stayed anywhere it is the best so far. Pricing is reasonable too. #Yes I travel a lot.

I did not like the parking structure. It was to tight and narrow. I like the stay, but I don’t think I’ll return due to the parking structure. I was really scared my rental car would be scratched on either sides.

Short trip to Hawaii
The room were not cleaned properly. When we check in, we saw peanut under the chair, lid of shampoo bottle in bathroom.
They have communal microwave and I understand that you should clean after using, but there were crumbs under the microwave, inside of microwave was dirty. Microwave also doesn’t seem to be industrial type, it took a long time to heat up food and a lot of people lining up.
Swimming pool is nothing to brag about it’s pretty small and it’s pretty much indoor. But at least the hotel is close by the beach… It’s nice to have water filtration system there though, so you don’t have to buy water.
Plumbing, OMG plumbing is pretty bad. For a quick 5 minute shower, it will take 30 minutes for the bathtub to drain. Imagine taking a long shower to wash your hair - water filled up to half the tub and took 40-45 minutes to drain.
Something about the chairs in the room, we got bug bites after sitting on them. Make sure to cover with plastic or something before sitting.
They have coin laundry area - pretty basic. 3 washers, 1 was broken - price varies. 3 dryers $4.75 per cycle of 57 minutes of drying.
They have parking - $35 per night for hotel guest. Be careful going up, the drive way is pretty small and very steep and sharp turns.

Good location for a decent price.
Walkable to shops, restaurants and the beach in Waikiki. Room was clean and nicely decorated with a good view.
Would have rated 5 stars, but the air conditioner in the room was too loud to go to sleep with it on, and you also couldn’t open the balcony door overnight due to noise from the fans downstairs so the room was very stuffy overnight.

Good stay but hotel needs some improvements.
Hotel rooms and interior looks new and morden.But room and bathroom space was very small. Air-conditioning was splashing water droplets every time it turns on. Bedsheets was teared nubmer of times after room service. Shower curtains were durty and smelling. Need exhaust fan in bathroom. Because of water steam water has started accumulated on the ceiling and started dripping over time.

1st of all the pool was dingy & dirty, elevators were smelly & extremely dirty. Parking attendant was super rude to us & was yelling at us as upon our arrival there was no attendant on site & we were not sure what level to park. room cleaning service was not willing to clean our room as we work up late. Front desk staffs were not knowledgeable with the surrounding areas.

Everything was great during our stay... I would definitely stay again the next time. The only warning I would give is the parking garage. DO NOT drive anything bigger than a full size car... I don't think mini van and mid size SUV can fit in the turns. It takes some skills.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Great location in Waikiki. Step out of the hotel and you are in the middle of shops, restaurants and the beach is a block away. Bus stop right outside too. Had a fabulous stay here and loved Hawaii.

It is in a convenient location within Waikiki, less than 2 blocks from International Market Place, the DFS plaza, the Royal Hawaiian Center, and other popular locations within Waikiki. It is also close enough to the beach. The property looks new since it seems that it was renovated recently, and the interior design and decorations are Hawaiian. Unless we'll win the lottery jackpot in the future, we'll consider coming back to this hotel again when we'll visit and stay at Oahu (and Waikiki) next time.
Nothing in life (e.g., the number of days we can have in this vacation trip) is perfect. Likewise, the hotel itself also has room for improvement as well. First, the "swimming pool" is actually just a swimming lane. Second, although I am glad my driving and parking skills are good enough, I can imagine some drivers may end up having scratches on their cars navigating the hotel's parking lot due to very limited space, especially those driving bigger than mid-size vehicles.
PS. Hope those affected by the devastating fire in Maui (especially Lahaina) will be able to overcome the losses.

Property was nice. Room was rather small but adequate for two adults. VERY disappointed to learn there was a mandatory additional $30/night "amenity fee" access to wifi, indoor small plunge pool and other such amenities that most hotels would normally include in the nightly rate. That would have been nice to know at time of booking.

to get ice, you had to go to a different floor of the hotel to get it. Each floor apparently did not have ice machines. Also, no microwave in room. Neighbors next door fought a lot ....Otherwise, it was a very good hotel and everyone did their best to make the visit more enjoyable.

This is a great place to stay right in the middle of everything. Decent rates and super friendly staff. Room was nice with decent space. Bathroom was tiny! Walls are thin as you can definitely hear neighboring room voices. Water pressure in the shower isn’t great but there was always hot water. Elevators can be a bit slow when it’s busy with check ins / outs. The courtyard area with the pool and spa is nice. The pool is just a plunge pool, only 4ft deep but was a nice place to cool off. Nice big spa jacuzzi. Would stay again.

Room wasn’t ready upon arrival. Waited a bit. Then still want the cleanest. Great location and bus from airport stops right there. Staff was ok. Air unit in room is very loud. Room not soundproof.
