NEEDS SOME TLC
The hotel is in a great location and close to everything, but the hotel needs some major TLC. We had two rooms and both rooms on both days did not have hot water. The room was clean, but the hallway and was dirty needs new wallpaper and painting. Just needs to be updated and some money put into this hotel.

Property was in great location. Easy walk to Waikiki beach, shopping, and restaurants. Staff were excellent! Especially Angie at the front desk! Made our stay extra special! Will return for sure!

Location great, room not so much
The good: room was clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was very nice. Location is very good.
The bad: Walls are paper thin. We were by the pool and could hear the music enough to sing along during the pool hours every day, 8 am to 10 pm. Could also hear our neighbors talking if they raised their voice at all. Shower is the size of a coat closet and didn't have hot water on two occasions, most likely because so many people were using it. Ceiling was cracked and peeling. Towels were rough. The hotel rooms are so monotone and uninviting. Some new carpet, a patterned wallpaper and some better wall decor would work wonders. Hallway carpet was so dark and dingey. Parking is expensive.
TLDR: If all you care about is location and that the room is clean this hotel is a fine choice. However, it is not a very true Hawaii experience and needs a lot of upgrading.

We had a handicap room with roll in shower. The shower didn’t have a lip to keep the water in so when we took a shower, the whole bathroom floor got wet. But the room was big & my sister could ride her scooter around. Everything else was nice and the staff is very accommodating.

I only stayed one night. I soloed travel and just needed a spot for a night. I checked in as soon as I landed in the afternoon and my room was already ready. The furniture is nothing of modern and new but it does the job. It was extremely clean without a speck of dust. The shower grout and faucets were very clean. There’s an ABC store right across the corner. A very walkable location. I would stay here again and recommend this place to a friend.

We were disappointed that the property was more run down than expected based on the reviews. The carpets were old and dingy, bathroom very small. The bed in the first room we were given backed up to a wall of elevators. When we asked for a different room the bathroom was so small that a large person would not have been able to step into the shower. The water never warmed up either. We did find the location very convenient for enjoying the beach and restaurants, however we would pick a different hotel next time.

Great location, being within easy walking to the beach, restaurants and shopping, etc. Friendly staff.
The only issue was the noise - repair work being done in the building, super thin walls so you can hear everything in rooms either side, and people in the hall Lots of sirens going by and lots of street noise fromyelling a, erc. distance to the 2

Request a king got a double. Charged me more than I got online! Room was old and markings on wall. Bed lumpy. Construction woke us up a lot of pounding. Door was offline so you can see light on all sides terrible stay for and outrigger and the price nearly a grand for 3 days won’t come back

Every staff person was so friendly and helpful. We had a flight late in the day and not only did they let us leave our bags after checking out, they let us use a hospitality room after spending the day at the beach. So nice! - It’s also super close to the beach and shops; great location.

Cons: dirty bathroom when checking-in. Room #500 next to the elevator so very noisy all night long. Tried to get another room but was told I specifically chose that room.

Love the location, that’s about it though
This is definitely a budget hotel, and it’s not billed as such. Also, our initial room was a king suite, but directly under nonstop construction that was going all hours of the day on the floor above, so we asked to be moved because of the noise. We wound up in a basic queen room, and all they waived was $127 in resort fees. Definitely didn’t get our money’s worth. The room they moved us into also had a leak from the air conditioning unit that was obviously creating water damage to the carpet, and left the room smelling musty. Also one of the few hotels without any beverage options adjacent to the pool. The hotel itself just looks exhausted, like it’s seen better days but is still trying. Staff is all friendly, but that isn’t enough to make up for the general shabbiness.

The property is quite aged and need renovation. Wall acoustic insolation is poor and you can hear everything next door. Also the noise of ppl passing by at corridor can be heard. Shower was so small even I am a small Asian person. Location is fantastic

Great stay. PROS Hotel is in a great location. It’s walking distance to Waikiki beach, the mall, restaurants, stores, and a really nice market with a food court that also has warm prepared food ready to go. The pool area is newly renovated and very nice and relaxing. The hotel staff were extremely friendly. We had a great view of the city from our balcony and it was really pretty in the evenings and mornings. CONS The bathrooms are a little outdated and small and the walls in the room are a little thin and you can hear the people in the next room talking. The parking garage key they gave us didn’t work. We changed it out several times and always had to push the button to talk to someone so they could let us out. It wasn’t a big deal but a little annoying.

Older property, wear and tear evident. Very dusty on things like ledges/doorframes/light fixtures. But the fact that it’s very walkable to every place I wanted to go outweighed it. The coffee shop in the lobby is fantastic!!

Property is in a convenient spot and close to the beach which after all is what matters when going for a vacation. The biggest con is that the hotel is very old and in need of a big upgrade. The air conditioning is central but it can only cool, depending on when you visit some nights can be cold but you cant do much but layer up. When I went there the steam Iron they gave me was leaking so I couldn't use it. The Laundry room near the place is a COIN laundry, in 2023/2024 there should be an option to pay with card is insane that you have to use coins just to wash your laundry yourself. They also charged me with fees before checking out when other hotels did not do that. If you need a place to stay make sure you are getting it for cheap here because saving a few bucks is the best this place can offer. That and being near the beach but there are a lot of hotels that are close to the beach.

A wonderful stay at Ohana East for our 5th trip to Waikiki! Yes, the rooms are dated but the room was very clean; I mean we don’t go to Hawaii to hangout in the room all day. The restroom is a tad tiny and does have a weird layout with the shower door hitting the toilet but again, it did the job - sink, toilet and shower.
If you are looking for an ideal location hotel, this is one of them. Ohana sits right on the corner, across from an ABC and Waikiki Market which has groceries and prepared food like poke bowls, malasadas. There is also a bar right under the market which has live music every evening, my husband and I got a room with a balcony facing Kuhio (the city strip) which was wonderful to enjoy a pre-dinner drink out there and my morning coffee. Ohana has a coffee shop in the lobby for a quick morning coffee run.
Ohana’s pool has just been revamped and it’s a great place to hangout and take in the sun if you want to skip a day at the beach. Something I would like to mention is that they don’t have drink/ food service at the pool, which is kind of a bummer, hopefully they rethink that.
I heard that they will begin updating the rooms soon so if you don’t mind a dated clean room in an ideal location now is the time to book because once the new decor arrives it will probably show on our bill :) so take advantage now!!
All of the employees were friendly and wonderful.
Great stay, would definitely stay here again … We’ll see you soon Waikiki!

Ohana was conveniently located near main strip of hotels and restaurants along Waikiki beach. Facilities were a bit outdated but overall comfortable. Carpet should be replaced with new clean one. Suite was spacious and affordable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool was nice too.

Perfect for an overnight Staycation!
Service was fantastic at this property. The hotel room itself was larger than most in Waikiki. There were two closets so lots of space to hang clothes!
Area for improvement: The room had a strange odor that we attributed to old smoke funk in the carpets. The furnishings and walls looked tired and could be replaced.
Otherwise, good location, good price and good service!

Rooms and facilities are old. Washroom and shower stall are pretty small. Regular toilet without bidet. Two beds rooms are all double size beds. No two Queen size beds room available. No power plug-in around night tables. Rooms are clean, swimming pool and hot tub are good. Staffs are nice and helpful. $35 per night parking is not super expensive in that area and the parking lot is always available.

The location is great, right in the middle of Waikiki. Easy to walk to the beach and shopping is convenient as well. Staff is very friendly and always helpful. Asked for a late check out and we were accommodated with a great choice of time to check out. We chose the late afternoon, for a small charge, but it fit our scheduled great!

The only issue with the facility was the amount of other guests that smoked cigarettes or pot on the balconies. Almost every day you could smell it when you went out to the balcony or through the air conditioner. There was one guest that would stand and watch people in the pool 3-4 times a day and smoke.

Property is quite outdated but clean. The staff is great and the location is perfect. Parking spaces are a little small however $35 per night is not as expensive as other hotels around the area. Breakfast option on site is one sandwich/waffle and one coffee or juice but if you walk to Hilton you get a better breakfast option.
