A remodel is planned but it should have been done 4 years ago. Breakfast was a coffee & bagel bar with some fruit, Unattended unless one contacted desk staff. Rooms were small and kind of dirty. Carpet s needed cleaning. Walls had many dings. Entrance to laundry room & employee lockers held together with metal straps were visible immediately upon entering lobby. Curtain to cover door was never closed. Desk staff was friendly when approached and they sought answers from other employees for questions they couldn’t answer.
Disappointing stay.

Nice location and beds. Hallways reeked of mold and marijuana. Staff was extremely bothered by check in and any questions. Breakfast was comical and the complementary “wine and beer” were gone by the time we checked in.

I was quite disappointed with my experience, which failed to meet the basic standards one expects from a reputable hotel.
Firstly, the front desk staff seemed poorly trained in customer service. During my stay, there was a noticeable lack of communication regarding hotel amenities, specifically housekeeping. I was not informed at check-in that I needed to request this service explicitly. When I did request housekeeping on my third night, my request was completely overlooked, leaving me in an unattended room for the duration of my stay.
Additionally, the breakfast was underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. The offerings were extremely basic, consisting only of sliced bread, yogurt cups, juice, and coffee. This limited selection did not provide the variety or the quality one would hope for to start the day.
The condition of the rooms was also disappointing. Both the bathrooms and the room furniture were noticeably worn and seemed poorly maintained, which significantly detracted from the comfort and aesthetic appeal of the stay.
Overall, my experience at the Seville Plaza Hotel was far from satisfactory. The lack of proper service, poor breakfast quality, and the worn state of the rooms made it clear that much improvement is needed. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that significant changes are made to enhance the guest experience in the future.

Hotel from HELL....
This hotel is false advertising about the rooms it was terrible the appearance of the hotel was terrible, as soon as you get on the elevator you can smell smoke, you also smelled marijuana in the hallways.
I think what did it for me was one of the front desk agents were drinking wine while she was working her shift just so unprofessional so un organized crack heads homeless people begging me for money it was a disaster.

Adequate Stay - Good Transit Access
The Seville was adequate. The lobby area needed a deep clean and it was obvious they do not know how to clean under a table that was clearly dusty under it. And it was not a big table to move. The continental breakfast was adequate. The biggest thing the Seville has going for it is free, and secure, parking. This was a main factor for choosing this hotel on this stay. Plus good access to KC's bus system. The future looks better as the streetcar extension will be right at the Seville's front door!

Only 2 handicap parking spaces in the whole property! When I could not park in front I was directed to the rear parking lot. I found a space but they had no ramps. I had to navigate long series of steps carrying luggage and helping my husband, who cannot walk unassisted, down the steps. Not what one expects from a Windham hotel!!!

A night at the Seville
This was our second time staying at the Seville on the plaza. We really love the charm of the Architecture and location is perfect for our needs
You should however invest in a waffle maker. Bagels and yogurt just don't cut it.

The property seemed to be undergoing renovations -- though nothing visible was happening. The rugs were stained, elevator dirty, furniture undusted. The "breakfast" was abysmal: Undrinkably weak coffee with a defrosted super-market bagel. The only reason to stay here is low price and a decent -- but not special -- location.

Misrepresentation
We felt that the hotel was not how it presented itself online. Whether it be condition of the hotel or the price was different. The happy hour bar was a mini fridge with only wine because the beer tap was broke. The bed pillows were tiny, our room was suppose to be to be checked in at 4, after 5 pm that day it wasn't ready. And the breakfast ended up only being bagels. The carpet was dirty and the ceiling had water damage. Will not stay again.

Loved the staff, they worked hard to make it a good experience. The hotel is scheduled for renovations this spring and it needs it. The room was clean, but “tired” and didn’t have things we’re used to seeing (eg USB ports and extra outlets). Street construction in front of the building, had to enter from the rear entrance. Biggest issue was the strong oder of pot throughout the hallway-either people are ignoring the no smoking rules or it’s getting in from the outside. Ok value if you can put up with negatives.

Since The hotel and Orbitz really refused to do anything about this, I’m going to urge you on here PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We were concerned about the cleanliness immediately but understood they were going to do a renovation. In the middle of the night I was woken up by something crawling on me. I turned on the light to discover BEDBUGS in the sheets. BEDBUGS!!!! We were horrified and packed up as soon as we could and booked another hotel. The hotel refused to do anything about it, even after sending them pictures of the bugs in our bed, nor did they respond or refund any of our stay, including the days after we checked out and Orbitz only gave us a $70 voucher after spending thousands on a vacation package. I urge you DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!! BEDBUGS!!!!! And do not book through Orbitz.

We had to move from one room to another due to a leak in the plumbing in the bathroom sink. Something had been removed from the wall in the room and the holes were just left in the wall. We had to make a $100 deposit at check in because we purchased througb Expedia. We were not told that ahead of time.

Check out was 11, we asked for a late check out for 12 when we checked in. We put the do not disturb sign on our dour when we went to bed. Starting at 8am we were knocked on three times, at 11:30 we got a call to the room telling us to get out or we are charged a fee for late check out. Do not stay here. Customer service is awful. Staff was terrible.

This was horrible from the start. There was no one at the desk to let us in the front doors, then the front desk person was MIA for another 10 minutes. A housekeeper had to go get her so we could check in. Then the drain in the shower was clogged, the sink water was sulfuric and smelled like rotten eggs. The QT next to the hotel was so loud that we couldn’t sleep into 3:30am. The breakfast was minimal with bread, empty juice containers, a microwave that had noodles spilled all over and cold water for tea in a broken dispenser. I can’t believe this “hotel” charges customers at all.

We recently stayed at Seville Plaza Hotel, Kansas City, for the Super Bowl parade. Faced with a minor plumbing issue, the staff’s response was exceptional, swiftly relocating us to ensure our comfort. The hotel’s location is a big plus, conveniently close to attractions and a Quick Trip gas station next door.
Comfortable rooms and a warm atmosphere made it ideal for our family. I feel it’s important to share good experiences as people often only write reviews for negative ones. Our stay was so positive; it deserves recognition.
Seville Plaza not only met but exceeded our expectations, making our parade visit memorable. It’s a top recommendation for anyone visiting Kansas City, particularly for families seeking a stress-free, enjoyable stay.

Employees were fantastic but didn’t like the fact they took out the accidental fee from my acct rather than just holding the information. Hope the money goes back into my acct immediately after I check out, kinda needed that money for the parade and activities.

Whoever the front desk person was when we checked in was the most rude, insulting person I have ever dealt with at any hotel. Her behavior was unacceptable. Other than that, the hotel was decent and other employees were friendly.

I’ll say this much… the staff are honestly very nice/friendly… overall very good with what they’re given. However, the hotel itself isn’t the best. Considering it’s close to Westport, I’d give it a 5.5/10. The staff are what make that place. Besides that, it’s just meh

We spent 2 weeks there with 2 dogs and we couldn't have met a nicer staff. Doug, Greg, Monna, Shenell and Natalie and the housekeeping staff. Room was clean, bed was comfy and the coffee was always ready. They were always available to supply anything we needed. Thumbs up, we found our place in KC. Jan, Joel, Rosie and Mara H.

This hotel was not as advertised. Not a top hotel. We arrived at 7 pm. When we opened the door, we were greeted by an unclean room, unmade beds, filthy bathroom, etc. Hotel staff came and cleaned room while we waited. No attempt made by staff to give us a different room. Room’s fridge inoperable. Thermostat on heating was way off: 67 degree setting equaled 80 degrees. Impossible to achieve a comfortable setting. Hallway was filthy and carpeting was old, faded, and had ground in dirt. No microwave in room. No breakfast other than coffee and apples. Once I snagged a bagel. Absolutely no hot breakfast items. We ended up going out to breakfast each day. We expected a lot more for our money. A terrible experience and we went home early.

Worst hotel experience of my life
Any booking is a get-what you pay for, so I should not have expected much.
Beyond the hallways being overrun with the smell of weed, this place was decrepit at best. Substandard mattresses, broken-down furniture, stains everywhere and too many other issues to even list.
First room had an unsleepable bed. Second room where I spent first night had a broken heating system. Switched to a third room and there was actually a hump in the floor of the middle of the room.
When I pointed that out, management told me I was being obnoxious. Ownership stepped in and was downright nasty to me.
Beware of the deal on price offered here. Remember, you get what you pay for.
I have stay in hundreds of hotels and never experienced anything this bad.

Room very dirty, stains in the sheets, counters not wiped, pills found under the bed, outlets didn’t charge our phones, hot water didn’t work in the shower. Dogs suppose to be on 1st floor only, we were on the 4th and there were 3 separate dogs that barked for 2 hours straight one night.

Pictures are very deceiving. Property is old and semi kept. Check in was great. Nice front desk gal. Got to our room and a bed was not made. Immediately left that room and went to front desk. New room given, door appeared to previously pried open, hair on bathroom toilet, lumpiest beds I’ve ever encountered, luke warm water in the shower, staff smoking pot outside and guest talking very loudly in the hall in the middle of the night. In town for a hospital visit of a passing relative and this stay made our trip more miserable than it already was.

The vent in the bathroom was off the wall. The shower rod looked like someone had hung on it, and tore it loose and it had not been repaired. There was a pill laying in the bathroom floor. When we got off the elevator to go to our room, there was a shower curtain in the hall that we had to step around. Not sure what it was covering. Overall, the building was in desperate need of an update and remodel. For the money, this was not the hotel we were expecting.

Okay... could be better!
I was disappointed that it was not a little more modern and updated. They do the best they can with the accommodations but a remodel wouldn't hurt. The customer service was very professional. I was disappointed that after I booked the reservation I was emailed that there was no hot or continental breakfast. That should just be updated on the website. Not bad for a one night stay but I wouldn't have enjoyed more than that there.

Great location and price for the plaza lighting ceremony. Only thing we didn’t like was the continental breakfast. I read reviews on how great it was and there was nothing but bagels and toast and a couple apples. I’ve never went to one where they didn’t have cereal or pastries or something else, most at least have sausage and biscuits. The apple my kid bit into was rotten and we ended up going over to QT for breakfast.

Break fest was only bagels, coffee and juice, and those items they were out of the first morning. They stated a beverage was available in the evenings, i seen the tap but here were no cups or glasses. guess we were to catch it in our hands. We got lock out of our room one morning, due to malfunction of card reader. then their was the couple that decided to go totally spaztic on each other at 3:00 am, screaming, yelling and cursing each other (I know there is nothing you can do about that).

I tried to contact the hotel the morning of arrival to ask questions. No one answered the phone. I called several times over an hour span. Check in was good, but the room was dirty. A sock of a previous guest was under the bed. There were stains on the bed linens. In the morning there was no hot water, not even warm. If we ran the water in the sink, the shower water was room temp. Car alarms went off multiple times in the parking lot. There was lots of construction in the area. I have contacted the hotel about these issues.

The staff was amazing! The property is old and shower floor was very dirty. There is a QT next door but it’s not that safe if you are a woman who is alone and there are only soda machines available in the hotel. The breakfast was a bagel bar that needs no more mention. I will not be returning.

Great location if you are planning anything around the Plaza area of KC. Lots of attractions, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. Be aware that there is a multi year project to extend the light rail to UMKC. The roads are torn up, some sidewalks are inaccessible in the area right around this property, likely through 2024/25. This impacts the plumbing including some sulfur odors in the hotel, and I suspect all buildings along the course of the work.
The hotel is appropriate for what you pay for. It's a bit dated, but everything works fine for the most part. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of parking. The staff are all super friendly, which is a big plus. And again, for the area it's hard to beat the price.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room we had was clean. And the breakfast area was clean and neat when we went down in the morning. The bed was fine but the couch and other furniture in the room was a bit outdated, as was the carpet throughout. That caused the area to appear unclean.

The first room we were given was dirty and the toilet didn't work. They moved us to a second room where there was no hot water for the shower and the water did not drain in the tub. The bed comforter had several stains on it which one looked like blood. Room was also dirty. The third room they moved us to had no shower Curtin. It also had two queen beds instead of the king size we reserved. The carpets in each of the rooms were disgusting. Our socks and feet were dirty and nasty after walking on them. Their breakfast consisted of dried out bread and bagels. Rooms and property does not look anything like their pictures. It was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. $147.00 a night was a total rip off. Would not recommend to anyone.

Like most places post Covid, the pricing for this hotel doesn’t seem to match the accommodations. The grounds and the lobby match the photos, but the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel rooms leaves a lot to be desired. Our room had not been thoroughly cleaned upon arrival. It did not appear to have been vacuumed very well if at all and the bathroom floor wasn’t cleaned either. The wear and tear in the room was pretty bad and disappointing for the price of this hotel. Upon arrival the front desk person said maybe two words to me when checking in. Also, when you book the room it mentions a complimentary beer or glass of wine which of course they “were out”. The location is pretty good, except that everything all over this area of KC is torn up right now. That is the one thing about our stay that I can’t hold against the hotel. Overall I would not stay here again.

I set up to be charged when I got to the hotel, and saw that my card was charged in the morning before I even checked in. The lady at the desk "switched" the card on file to be charged, but it did not actually change it and my old card was still charged. The rooms were noisy from traffic outside.

Staff friendly. Hotel tired. Commercial Located on Main St, but outside of downtown & walking neighborhoods. On the other hand, there is a great Italian comfort food restaurant -Ragazza’s- just down the block. Hotel, itself, quiet, but some nearby business lets out early morning and some patrons rev their cars. Not hotel’s fault. Maybe other rooms are less exposed to that noise ( avoid room 304)

Wasn't fancy, but perfect if you're not looking to spend a ton of time at your hotel. Gym is 3 cardio machines and 3 sets of dumbbells (20-40#). Was nice enough and the staff were fantastic.

I booked a room that said “breakfast included” and on check in found out that means “bagels” and then the next morning there was Nothing but juice and coffee. The front desk said “Well there was a large group of young people here from Denmark.” ??? Then volunteered that there would not be a problem the next day. But the next day we watched more than one couple walk in to the dining area to find Nothing. The staff can only provide what is provided to them. But this hotel should not be advertising “breakfast.”

This hotel is centrally located but rooms are outdated and the hotel continental breakfast is basic. (Bagels, toast, and yogurt with coffee and juice). Air conditioners inside rooms are noisy and severely impact the quality of sleep. Rear parking area has no lighting near stairway entry and exit (safety hazard). The complimentary wine on arrival was enjoyable. Staff are friendly.

I had stayed here many years ago, and it seems it stayed that way. Dirty hallways and the door looked like someone tried to break into. There was a costumer fight at 6 am down the hallway where cops were involved.

Was not told about $100.00 incidental deposit until we arrived. When I had called about pricing I was quoted a price for 1 night of 2??.??. Which is way more than I paid through Expedia and lots more than the regular price the regular price the hotel charges. I don’t understand the difference in prices and feel like we were not treated professionally.

It’s a olde hotel and l understand but the bathroom need to be bleached down in tub area the soap around is crude around and around the stool dirty. I feel the floors needs shampooing. The employee that parked that gray 4 door car behind handi cap in front please 🙏 it’s need to back in back it’s a small lot and hard to get through

Most of their gym equipment was not working. They only clean rooms that request it, and then my towels and trash were outside of my room for 24 hrs. Staff was nice, but understaffed. Needs renovation badly.

I've stayed at this property twice in the last six months and both stays were pleasant. This small hotel has maintained its historic character while providing clean, comfortable modern pet friendly accommodations. It's proximity to the plaza is great. My only criticism is the breakfast was quite limited and could use some improvement. Bagels, toast and picked over yogurt choices is about it. I had to ask to get coffee because the carafe was empty and there was only a small amount of juice in the containers. There were no plates, only bowls. Kinda weird. That said, I would definitely stay here again.

A clean, solid room, everything needed was there, beds fine. The breakfast was a little disappointing. Most hotel breakfasts, even if not offering fresh/hot foods, will have protein in other forms like boiled eggs or peanut butter. This breakfast didn't have that. Also I noticed that the front desk person managed desk, supervising cleaning, and breakfast, and my interpretation is: management is attempting the skeleton crew method to keep more profit.

After reading reviews, we knew we had to park in the back parking lot as the front lot is extremely limited. The rooms were clean and staff were very friendly. The building itself is dated but that didn't bother us one bit. Close to many restaurants! I would say about a 15 minute walk to those but we chose to drive.

We did not stay after seeing how dirty everything was and seeing some type of rodent or reptile running across the hall and under the door of another room.

The staff was friendly. The parking isn’t horrible on e you talk tot he desk and find out directions on where to access the rear parking lot. The entry was ok. That is where the OK part stops. The elevator floor was filthy with black dirt in the tiles. The A/C for the building was broken which was mentioned in reviews by others prior to our stay so this wasn’t a one off sort of bad situation. The hallways outside the rooms were hot and dirty. Our room was hot and i was told by the desk that it is normal and just turn it way down and it will cool. It did and that was a blessing but the AC unit was super loud. Luckily i can sleep with noise. I misplaced my room card and the front desk told us their card making machine was broken. They did have free beer and wine that they would give guest and showed that it was Boulevard branded beer but a person drinking it said they put a Boulevard sticker over the Michelob brand. Anyway, i would never stay here again and would be hesitant about staying at a Wyndom hotel again without seeing it first.

The incidents fee needs to be explained whenever the welcome email is sent

Sunday morning the manger and housekeeper aggressively knocked on our door because we had the latch on, they could not enter. She demanded me to go down to the front desk saying our room was not rented to us. After her rechecking she found that the clerk placed us in the wrong room. Very unprofessional and scared my daughter.
