Don't bother. It's not worth it.
Worst bed I've slept on in years, and it got worse from there. Not a single thing was in the kitchenette to cook with, eat with, clean with. The pictures show utensils, but there weren't any. Not a pot or pan, no dishes, nothing. Apparently, you have to bring your kitchen with you when you stay here.
Loud building (creaks and thin walls), thin blankets, borderline rude check-in staff at night, dark room (so dark!), filthy carpet.
We will never stay there again.

I loved the friendliness of the front desk as Iâm 72 and my apt was 43 degrees inside and my water froze up. The women at the front desk were so kind and understanding as I live on $980.00 a mo disability and social security and I dread going back to my unfinished barn apt that has electrical and cement floors with half the heat and electric is not working. I really am scared to stay there but I have no choice. So enjoyed my 2 nights and it was so warm!

It wasnât bad but it did smell a bit like smoke and there was a stain in the mattress under the sheets. I would stay there again because itâs cheap but definitely not a suuuuuper nice hotel.

Room was stinky. Pots and pans were not available. Explicit language, insults, and talk of threats/ police being called made it difficult to fall asleep. Recommend choosing a different place if youâre visiting LU or Lynchburg

I stayed at one before and breakfast was wonderful. This one was sparse at best. No fruit or yogurt or cereal. Packaged muffin instant oatmeal or a breakfast bar.

There was nice dog walk area, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. The morning front desk attendant for the coffee and grab and go "breakfast" disappeared - coffee was empty.

Room was not clean and smelled horrible. Comforter was stained in several areas & there was hair all over the sheets. Complained & was moved to a different room which was just as bad. Ended up leaving & getting a room at the Courtyard nearby.

The hotel is nice, however the staff will harass you pertaining to having everyone that is staying in the room show their ID. I have stayed in many hotels, but I NEVER experience staff members knocking on your door asking for your guest ID. Thatâs the hotel way of getting more money out of you. The manager must have been checking the video camera to see if my man ID was in their system. When she realized he didnât present his ID, there is the knock on the door from staff. Mind you, my man didnât stay the whole duration of the night đ

Less than desirable stay.
The stay at Lynchburg, VA was less than desirable!!!! The price was comparable when I booked but was more expensive when we checked out. The âbreakfastâ was less than a continental breakfast. Muffins and packaged oatmeal does not constitute breakfast!! It was across the street from Liberty University and below budget. No eating, cooking equipment and no dish cloths! This is supposed to be stocked to cook. Despicable! I was embarrassed for staying there! Bed was very uncomfortable. Bare bones everything. Not even a blow dryer available to use!

The location is ideal for Liberty University, however the property is well below average. The lobby, elevator, hallway and room all smelled of cigarette smoke, with the room also smelling of stinky feet. When inquired about, the room smell was from newly cleaned carpet that was not able to dry as corp allowed them to be fully booked, against their wishes. Whatever the case it was horrible. Our clothes all smelled of it after we left. The tub was dirty, there were no hangers, but a very dusty hanging bar and the linens were stained. Due to a large event other hotels were fully booked and this place cost 200 per night after taxes, never again!!

Entire place smelled like weed, day and night. Bed was super hard and uncomfortable. Nearly impossible to sleep on. Breakfast was supposed to be included. Thatâs what we paid for. They did a âgrab and goâ where they offered coffee and granola bars with limited hours. We missed it the first morning. Wonât stay there next time we visit Liberty, despite the convenience to campus. Does not look like photos!!!

The hotel of a thousand smells
The staff was friendly, when we could find them. Our keys rarely worked and the desk usually wasn't staffed. Our TV stopped working and said "NO SIGNAL" a few hours after we arrived. I asked the front desk and they said there was nothing that could do because there wouldn't be any maintenance people in for a few days. However, they compensated us by waiving our $50 pet fee for our dog.
Our floor had a strong marijuana smell, except near the trash room where it smelled like garbage. We paid $300/night since it was homecoming weekend at Liberty. Under normal circumstances, I would have left and stayed somewhere else, but it was prepaid through hotels.com. The lobby had another smell that I couldn't place, but it was not pleasant.
The pet relief area outside was nice. Lots of doggie bags and grass. I wish it had a fence though. Our corgi needs exercise and he can't get it on a leash.

Not the best choice
There was no one at the desk when I got there and I had to wait a while just to be told I couldnât check in yet. Then the lobby, elevator, and third-floor hallway all smelled like marijuana many times. It was so disgusting I couldnât even ride the elevator anymore. My room was musty so I had to keep the window opened yo get fresh air. Apparently a lot of workers just stay there for long periods of time and the overall atmosphere is less than ideal. I donât think I would stay here again

Room had an unpleasant odor like smoke or pot. Their was makeup on a towel in the bathroom. The room felt dated and not that clean. It's in a great location but I would not stay here again.

Second time staying here. I stay due to proximity to Liberty University. Always smells like weed in the hotel and they use a horrible perfume spray to cover up smell in rooms. Very old and dated, breakfast poor, but again itâs all about the location across from football field.

Booked a King bed got two fulls. Asked for a room away from traffic was assured it was a quiet side. Room smelled like someone spilled a gallon of mistolin lemon scent to cover up something. Carpet was nasty, cabinets were damaged, counters stained, fridge door rusted. Remote control did not work and buttons were grease covered on tv itself. Cringe factor was high. Bedding was tired and worn out. Traffic was loud and place well past outdated. Very disappointing experience is putting it mildly.

I will never stay here again. A razor was left in the shower. The TV didnât work. The whole place smelled like cigarettes despite having to sign that I wouldnât smoke on the premises.

Staff were very polite and helpful, rooms were subpar. We had to have our first room switched because it reaked of cigarettes and the bathroom light was disassembled. Our 2nd room smelled clean but it reminded me of cheap apartments. Chipped paint, stained sink, drips of 'paint' on the floor. One of the desk lights in that room was also broken.

This is a great inexpensive place to stay that is walking distance to everything on the Liberty University campus. Facility conditions and amenities were commiserate with the prices and to be expected. I really had no complaints with either.
The only drawback was the cloud of marijuana smoke that lingered in the entrance/lobby area throughout our 5-day stay and even seeped up through the floor into our second-floor bathroom area one evening. I understand that marijuana is a legal substance in Virginia, but the smell is foul and makes for an unpleasant experience. Hopefully this can be addressed by management and no longer count against this hotel.

Bathroom smelled of urine. Black goo on the iron; glad I noticed before ironing my shirt. No dishes in the cabinet in the kitchen. Soap seemed expired because it did not produce a lather when trying to wash my hands. White towels and washcloths stained; used my own thy were in my vehicle. Not experience I was hoping for and I am not a picky person. Just want cleanliness.

DO NOT BOOK!!! Lyberty parents, out of town guests for a game, even if this is the only hotel left it would be better to sleep in a car. Just now got into town and checked in....and just as quick checked out. This hotel is NOT as advertised and im fearful I will get eaten by bed bugs. There are literally bugs. It is DISGUSTING!!!!
First we are greeted with the stench of weed entering into the lobby. Slow check in process. No friendly service with a smile, just stoic. Get up to the room and it was not cleaned from last guest. Still has valentine confetti remnants near table and unvaccumed floor, and can only assume reused bedding! Burn on countertops, bathroom smells like drugs or smoke, not weed. I don't feel safe there. Windows are filthy filmed and feels like jail.
It's like a crackhouse!!!

I'm not sure if I should lead off with the stench when you walk through the prison-esque front doors, or the fine grain sandpaper they called toilet paper. There were zero amenities, no shampoo no soap no plastic cups. I'm not sure why they had a little mini kitchen and a refrigerator when they didn't even give you plastic cups. There was no ice machine. And to Crown off the Spartan minimalist dank motif, I asked for a few extra pillows because there were three of us and we have some back issues and they said no. They don't provide any. They had at least 30 empty rooms at night but they couldn't spare a few pillows, no apologies, just flat "no." Never again.

Served purpose
Very close to venue, which was very nice. Hotel should list that this is grab and go breakfast , if manager is in the mood. Hotel should not list on website as breakfast included in purchase of reservation. Was not breakfast!! VERY deceiving!!! Was clean and spacious however and served our purpose.

There are better choices
Facility is old, but mostly clean. No modern outlets for USB plugs. Blankets were non existent- felt like I was using a tissue for a blanket. When I asked for an extra blanket I was told they had none, although after pressing they found one. Bed was uncomfortable in general. No front desk staff is present unless you call. Smell of pot in building as well.

The staff, specifically one front desk worker, was incredibly rude. The entire hotel reeked of marijuana. There were no towels in the bathroom upon arrival. There were empty shampoo bottles on the bathroom sink that had not been replaced. There were things left under the bed from previous guests.

Tiny double beds for 4 grown adults. No extra blankets, no extra towels. No hot food available in the mornings. We Needed to check out after our first day because our plans were going to change. We were told that because it was third party reservations platform, that we would lose the entire amount charge too our card, for the next 2 days stay. No consideration, in these times, you can assume plans do change last minute.

First impression when we walked in the lobby, smelled like weed. Not just a subtle smell, but very heavy. Once in our room, that we did not have the queen size bed we reserved. It was most definitely a full. Also that there was old dried food splattered on the fridge and stove. To make matters worse, a BLOOD STAIN on the blanket. Contacted the front desk. Was told no other rooms available and it would be several hours to get a clean blanket. Being as it was already 1130pm we opted to do without. Next day asked about a clean blanket and they had none to spare. Ended up buying some for our last night there. Would not recommend this hotel. It was disgusting

Arrived 1 hr before check-in time. Room was ready, but we were charged an extra $15 to get in the room early-WHY- just because they could. Room was not very clean. Light beside bed didn't work. Light over stove top didn"t work. Hand sanitizer beside elevator was empty. No in-room coffee. No ice available. Only two thin plastic cups in the room. We realize the pressures brought on by the pandemic, labor shortages, and inflation. We are glad that this hotel is still available for us, but we will not be back.

Although it is smoke free now, it clearly used to be a smoking property because you can smell the smoke as soon as you walk in.
- The linens and towels were old and dingy.
- Cookware/dishes/utensils are listed as amenities but there were none in the room.
It's a run-down hotel with no real effort or investment being made to improve it.

I only stayed about 8-9 hours. I had been driving about 6 hours when I needed to sleep somewhere before continuing my trip. While I thought it was very clean at first my opinion changed when I was packing up in the morning and a cockroach came running out from under the fridge. I know itâs the South and so there are usually more cockroaches due to the climate. However based on the one I saw being not quite full grown I can only imagine how many more were in the kitchen area of the room.

Comfortable with fixable issues
It was comfortable. The bottom outside of the refrigerator was not clean and one of the window screens could not close. My biggest issue was that the room smelled of cigarette smoke which I believe got in my clothes. Still, I like the room size, the kitchen, and the bed was comfortable.

The stay was good overall. Other than blood stain on one of the covers and the tv was not working. Was there due to power outage in the county. Needed a peaceful nights rest. We did sleep well. Would stay again.

Nice room and kitchenette⌠but no dishes, cookware, glasses or silverware. No coffee pot in the room either. A dish towel was on the counter but no sponge or dish soap.

This hotel is very dated and even though itâs older it could still be kept cleaner. The bed was comfy enough but little to no water pressure in shower. The staff were friendly when you could find someone but there was never anyone at front desk because she was cleaning roomsâŚ

Where do I beginâŚbloody gauze found in bed sheets, dust so thick on tv stand I could draw an X, check in person literally left desk to smoke out front/put cigarette out on walkway/curb. I had to sign a rental agreement stating no smoking, drinking , loud noises etc really scary, must pay for the full stay up front. $500 dollars a night due to graduation, smelly, cleaning guy got a bag of âfresh towelsâ from the front desk. No cleaning in site. Run from this hotel!!! It is not safe or clean! Oh the lobby closes at 11pm and you are being recorded on dirty tv hanging in lobby. I had to do this review to save others. Two rooms and they both looked like drug dens!

Although it was a smoke free facility, the entire floor smelled like someone was smoking weed. I thought it was outside my window but the window was closed and there was nobody there. It permeated the room the entire night and was worse in the morning. When I opened my door to leave, it was like walking into a cloud of weed smoke. Definitely not a place I would want to bring kids!!

The phone did not work, not a big deal initially , but the second night, it seemed there was a party going on next door and across the hall until 2am.Lots of noise and an attempt to get into my room. Unable to call the front desk. People stay there for weeks/months at a time which is fine-except when they dont take into consideration quiet hours. Breakfast was grab and go-which was listed in the website. (limited )

Worst hotel experience
The hotel is close to LU .except the location everything is worst hotel experience in my life. the hotel serves , cleanness is zero .I never seen this kind of hotel , deserve this price . I went for LU open house event I reserved this hotel because of family member already reserves this hotel, both upset and unhappy. The price is too much does not deserve. I even donât think half of what we paid is worth it.

Stay somewhere else
We have a student at Liberty, had to come to Lynchburg to move her in. You would think being so close to a nice campus that this hotel would be nice. The place is old, out dated. Mattress hard, sheets rough. Someone was smoking pot and cigarettes near our room, the smell was terrible. Could Not sleep Because I was unable to breath fresh air. Very disappointed that I paid $135 for this.

It was a great room very clean and I loved the way I could see my car out the window. The staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome. They also told me places to shop with directions to them when I asked. They were very helpful. I have stayed here before and plan to come again when I come to Lynchburg Virginia

Nice property but with an issue or two
This hotel seems like the defacto "away team" goto spot. It's a nice enough property with an awesome location about as close to the LU campus as you can get. The downsides were the waft of marijuana in the hallway and the loud partying coming from some of the rooms preventing any possibility of a good night's sleep from happening. Perhaps the staff should take regular walks on the hotel floors to head off any issues.

The hotel is very old and run down. There were no outlets in the room. The lights didnât work alarm clock was pulled out of the wall. It was not very clean. Just stayed there for convenience to the university. Front desk, not so friendly.

Problems with guests across the hall at 1:00am. Called front desk and they said they'd be right up to check it out. Never came up. 6am guests above our room sounded like they were moving furniture or something. Just decided then to check out and leave.

Overall the entire hotel is sketchy, the elevator recommends taking the stair (as in there is a literal note on the door saying to take the stairs) then both the 2nd and 3rd floor hallways stunk we had rooms on both. The 2nd floor was a mix of unpleasant aromas and the 3rd reek end of cigarette smoke with the smell permeating the room. Overall save yourself the pin and stay at the Holiday Inn express

NEVER AGAIN
We came at the hotel after a 12 hour drive and they were 12 rooms short. I showed them the confirmation, but they didn't care. They did not have enough cleaning staff and when we finally got a room, we only got it for 1 night instead of the nights we booked. No apologies and customer service of hotels.com also did nothing. Never going there again!
