Azul Del Mar is a nice piece of property to spend a few days. Quiet and relaxing with a small dock to enjoy the sunset. The dive resort has a pool that guests can use. I would give 5 stars if there was someone at the front desk.

The boathouse used to be used as a store for the lifejackets and paddles, it has no windows, the bathroom door is an old closet mirrored door, when we expressed our disappointment, the receptionist said that she had spent a week in it and it "wasnt too bad but to be honest I wasnt in the room much"
Probably the least truthful description of a property I have ever stayed in.

Alright so, this place was right on the cusp of 5 stars. For the price point, it exceeded what I think it should be. So that’s good. I liked everything, it was quiet, set back, calm. The parking lot is away from the building and that creates a real serene sort of atmosphere. Except one a-hole decided to park his cheap Mercedes right in the rocks right next to the sidewalk, which is obviously a no parking area. Check in and out were easy. The WiFi works well. The bed and pillows were good. Our room was aquamarina and it has a good view but the room, with the view, is kinda just forgotten about. There was a loveseat and that’s it. It’s like that’s the best part of the whole place, give the area some love lol. Drawbacks, really the only drawbacks are things that can be easily fixed. If they have someone clean the windows more often on the outside, update some of the bathrooms and doors/windows. Basic maintenance like keeping the outside roof clean (that might be expensive tho). Back to good stuff, The beach area was quaint and nice. You can swim if you want. The sunset on the dock is beautiful. Only one complaint about that area is it isn’t lighted after dark so when the sun goes down the area is kinda useless. I wish they had a gate to the property. All in all, worth the money and we had a great time.

Such a beautiful place. It's a quiet oasis on the main drag. It has such a peaceful vibe. There's lights strung for ambience on the property and the dock is perfect for drinking your morning coffee. The room was pristine and extra touches were given. We have been staying somewhere different for two weeks on a road trip and this is the best place we have stayed.

The staff was fantastic in accommodating us for a very early check-in. We were very grateful for that. Upon arriving to the property, though, the room smelled funky, like it suffered from chronical humidity. Also, the toilet and sink had no water pressure. The setting is nice with a very small and cute (rocky) beach in the property and spacious rooms, but we would not return because of the humidity sensation.

Very poor hotel
Arrived at 14.30. Told room would not be ready until 1600 as being the "inexpensive" room ours would be last to be ready. No facilities. Not possible to buy a drink. Room was dingy with a view of a store house. Bathroom with chipped bath, very weak shower and peeling paint. Felt totally ripped off.

clean and efficient. The grounds are well cared for and
the seating could be just a little more comfortable.

When we got there, there's nobody in the lobby and there's a number to call. That's fine, but there's no answer at the number. We try for a while, then have to wander the property to find someone. Same at checkout. Dirty room, no bathroom fan, shower is just an old jetted hot tub with a shower curtain and shower faucet bolted on. Mildew on the bathroom windowsills. I could go on... and we paid $300 for the night! Not worth $100. I don't usually leave reviews but this was crazy.

The place is perfect for couples that want to get away. The staff was very helpful and tentative to all of our needs. The location is perfect for walking distance to nearby bars and restaurants. The price was perfect for exactly what we needed

This was a very average place to stay. We booked the La Palma suite, and it was fine, except for the fact that the bathroom area had no doors. My wife and I would have to leave the suite every time one of us had to use the toilet. The water in the shower did not get hot either. The property is very small, but it was quiet. We would not stay here again.

Older buildings but recently updated. Beautiful little sliver of beach and dock. Free beverages in fridge. Could see the ocean from our window. Free laundry! Perfect place for a quick stop to relax. Had food delivery from Fernandez the Bull Cuban restaurant also which was amazing.

This place is a tucked away gem. The room was clean and spacious, beautiful view and a really cool mosaic soaking tub. The bed was so comfortable abs the linens soft and cozy. The kayaks on the property were convenient and the kayaking was gorgeous. I can’t wait to come back.

The property is very pretty by the water very quiet and quaint. Our room itself needs quite a bit of attention. Cracked tile, paint coming off from the base boards, trash can not working , ceiling half painted , doers very difficult to lock and unlocked with old fashion key. Loved the location and nearby restaurants. Our room needs a little love !!

We fell in love with this stay. The staff was warm and friendly they gave us a real laid back but attentive feeling. Our room was above expectations. Separate sleeping rm from living setting and kitchenette came in so handy with microwave mini fridge , dishwasher and sink. Full size coffee cups. I didn’t have to ask for more coffee, they provide at least l2 pods ( that was the best part) I tend to feel anxious if I have to seek out staff to ask for more coffee. our outdoor lounging area was perfect, so private and quiet and we had it all to our selves to view magical sunsets. I booked 4 hotels for the week and I could’ve stayed here the whole week. No hotel compared. Thank you Azul

This place was so quiet and relaxing. We really liked that the place only had a few rooms so there weren't people everywhere. Nice private beach to relax on, close walking distance to restaurants as well. Suites were large and clean, with great views too. Staff was very helpful as well!

We reserved this property because the listing says BEACHFRONT only to travel over 1,000 miles to find out it is not. The photos are very deceitful. There is no beach. It is on the bay. There is a rock wall separating the property from the water. The water nearby is full of some kind of seaweed or sludge that smells like rotting fish. The only access to the water is by boat. We were very disappointed and when we spoke with management to cancel for a refund it was denied. We left anyways and ended up staying in Miami where there is actual beaches and beautiful clear water for enjoying the ocean. If you want beach and ocean access do not stay here.

Cute little spot. Great location with an even better view. A+ hospitality. Our only complaint… the bed killed both our backs. On night two with both wound up on the couches. But, hey at least we had those couches. And, in there defense, no we didn’t approach hotel with our discomfort since our stay was so short.

We had an excellent experience! The service was friendly, accommodations clean and comfortable, wonderful location and beautiful view. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the dock at sunset— truly magical! We would definitely visit again.

This was an amazing property. It was so clean and beautiful. The staff was very nice. We were able to use the kayaks for free and the bicycles. They had waters and beverages in the refrigerator for us. They cleaned our room daily and gave us fresh towels and beach towels. Also they had a washer and dryer on site with detergent.

A lovely quiet escape from the rat-race of life! The beach area off the ocean was a fabulous way to unwind and enjoy the simple pleasures.
Grab a book and watch your cares wash away with a perfect view of the sunset.
The scenery from the room was spectacular as well. Plus enjoy a great day of snorkeling/diving with the tour boat right next door. Super easy and stress free!

Wow what a wonderful place to stay if you’re looking for convenience and to relax. It’s peaceful, clean and includes wonderful extras like, sodas, washer, drier, laundry soap, kayaks, SUPs, beach towels, good cable TV, a wide variety of coffee and teas, dishes and dishwasher, fridge and microwave. We just loved it here! And the people were very kind! We stayed in the Aquamarina room and we would definitely return!

Wish we could have stayed a MONTH
So much positive to say about this stay! The view was incredible for sunsets. The number of rooms means you still don't run into lots of people in a smaller space. The included kayak, paddleboard, and bicycle rental. The staff were great, accommodated my MANY pre-arrival questions, and were always polite. They have a dock and will allow launching of your own kayak or canoe.
Late check out policy was a RELIEF. The pool at the adjacent sister property was nice and deep (saltwater pool). The bathroom and Royale Suite were top notch.
The beach and lounge chairs were a great way to watch the sunset, and a grill is available. Parking is in the shade, and the property is well-shaded. Everything felt comfortable and non-rushed (island style). There is really nothing negative to say about this stay except the price (I paid a lot more than the going rate I observed closer to check in), the cancellation policy (steep penalty), the bed (too soft for both of us), and that we didn't get the late check-in info until pretty close to our arrival.

Smells like mold
Super easy late check-in and friendly service. Office closes around 5:30PM but attendant provided after hour instructions.
The room is smaller than pictured and not well kept. But the main issue I have is that it smells moldy. There’s no ventilation in the bathroom. I can’t seem to open the one window that looks like it could open.
The shower has a sunken tub, at first I just thought that it was interesting but then when I was using it, I realized that the water gathers at my feet. The tiles in the bathroom are falling apart as well.
The layout is awkward.
The sink doesn’t have much of a storage section. So I essentially walked back and forth to the kitchenette where I placed my toiletries. The bed only has one night stand as the other side is against an angled closet.
We stayed from past 10pm until past 8am. This is the first time I woke up without my alarm and decided to leave the hotel because I both can’t sleep and can’t stand the smell. I barely slept all night. I’m coughing as I write this outside.
I’m confused at all the high ratings.
I told the office about the mold and they thanked me and said they will relay to management.

The staff is good. The location is great. The condition is not good at all. The beach is a joke. Our room “the boat house “ was horrible. Do not book this room. We ended up leaving early and Nikki at the front desk was very helpful.

The property was small with beautiful trees and shrubs. It was peaceful and quiet with large rooms and a lovely small beach.
Large chairs were unwieldy and the kitchenette was poorly lit. Bath did not have adequate space for toiletries. Complimentary laundry was useful, but the property itself was in need of some repair. Beautiful palapa however!

We stayed in the Celeste room on the second floor. Pros:The room was clean, the linens smelled incredibly fresh. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping came every day to refresh the bed and towels. Cons (if you can really even call them that): The mini fridge doesn't get super cold. The view of the ocean is partially obstructed by the tiki huts and palm trees. The bathroom is kinda small and our shower was out of body wash. But the bathroom water was good and the pressure was good. There's a small shelf above the toilet that leans down a little, it has a small faux plant on it that you can tell by the bits of toilet paper that it fell in the toilet at some point. It should probably just be thrown away. Overall, it was wonderful. It was unseasonably cold the weekend we were there, and I couldn't figure out how to get the heat on. Mimi from the front desk staff came right up and showed me how to turn it on. I love how secluded this resort is. There are only 6 units so that's nice. We weren't able to use the amenities (kayak, paddle boards) bcz of the wind and cold this past weekend but I imagine it would have been lovely. The fabric lounge chairs up on the dock are worn and could use replacing. But again, this place is quite lovely and I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic place to stay!
Wonderful service, the room was great, and we had absolutely everything we needed during our stay. There’s also a little area by the water you can hang out, as well as hammocks. We would definitely stay here again.

Mimi the office staff was great. She was very kind and even wrote me a birthday card. My only complaint is that the beach area was very limited so we had to go to other parts to enjoy the beach. It also got really really cold because the weather changed drastically. There is no heat in the room so we were freezing and ended up checking out early. It would have been fine if the weather stayed warm or if the room had a space heater or other heating option. 7/10 experience.

We needed a last minute (same day) reservation and Azul del Mar was very reasonably priced and everything we were looking for plus some! We highly recommend Azul del Mar and will book with them next time we are in Key Largo for sure!

We were excited to arrive at this hotel for our first trip to the keys. We were disappointed in the quality of the room and hotel. I am unsure how this place received a 4 star rating as it is certainly not a 4 star hotel. The room was old and out dated, there were no toiletries provided in the bathroom, just re-usable soap pumps and shampoo/conditioner pumps as one might find in a decent air BnB. The balcony was not functional as in you could not walk out onto an outdoor balcony, it’s just a window with a balcony gate. There are only 6 rooms on site and it’s a super small hotel where the staff leave at 4pm. The coffee maker is a keurig and the coffee was bad. The free coffee next door at the sister hotel was super watery and also very bad.
I went to pull out the iron board from the closet and found hairs on it.
There were not even any extra blankets in the closet even though there were two couches with one being a futon.
The bathroom was super small and had a damp smell
The fridge / freezer in room was fine.
The dock / beach area was a nice place to watch sunset.
Overall would never stay here again and I’m not sure I can trust Expedia’s star system as this was a 2 star hotel at best. We stayed in the Celeste Delixe room and there was nothing deluxe about it. Wish it was nicer!!

This place is truly unique and beautiful. The bay view at sunrise and sunset are amazing. The rooms are clean and cozy, we slept like babies. Staff was very helpful and prompt to answer even during our late check in they made sure we had everything we needed once we got there. My only regret is not being able to stay longer. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
