The linen was dingy, the room was not clean thoroughly . Carpet dirty and outdated. The fridge had stains in it.. Doors and walls had dirty stains. I left I couldn’t sleep there at all!!

Highly recommended!
Have stayed at the Garden Inn several times over the years. I would absolutely return as business and family needs dictate. I love the staff and amenities. Reasonably priced, very clean, centrally located.
Slightly concerned about lobby roof leakage which produced possible slip/fall conditions. That said, the wet areas were clearly designated with warning signs and major efforts were made to mitigate
inconveniences .

Hotel was outdated. Showers had missing tile, mildew on shower curtains and rust stains on tub. Room only had 2 towels. We asked for extra towels and were told they did not have any more. Would not recommend.

Staff was very good ! Very Disappointed Pool closed, bar closed Sunday & Monday, Restaurant closed Sunday & Monday, None of this was posted on the website. No tissues in my room until I asked for them. Shade broken very run down facility. I booked through Expedia and They would not my Hilton Honors membership. I chose Hilton but the next time I may think twice. The best experience was with the Bartender Sandra. She was very friendly and accommodating she also helped with local information. I am especially disappointed with the Hilton Honors situation, I f I stay at a Hilton Facility I should be able to get the points. Room 323 call me for details if you like.

The staff was personable and friendly. I must admit that the facility felt old and dated. The chair had a slip cover. The lamp bases were rusted. It showed it's age. It served my needs but for the price, I'd rather stay somewhere newer that feels cleaner.

Property is badly in need of renovation! NO way a Hilton hotel should be this bad! The couch in my room was full of stains! The carpet smelled of urine! Very misleading when you walk into the lobby which is very nice. The staff was somewhat helpful. I was baffled that there were no blankets available for the pullout couch! The outside dumpster was wide open and you could see the trash area. I would NOT stay again!

Nice place. However, the room felt damp from the humidity. Because of the dampness it caused the carpet to smell. Reasonable place to stay for travel times to JEBLC and Norfolk NS. Also very reasonable pet fees.

Stayed there before and was very clean. Didn’t know they had pool shut down till we checked in. After a long drive looked forward to that. Said they notified Expedia about it. There was water in the pool. Rates were up but you got less.

Overall 0k, but won't consider staying there again
Arrived the hotel from out of state around 1:30pm on Sunday, August 14, 2022. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly, did not even acknowledge us by at least making eye contact. Her body language was perceived as if she did not want us as guests in her hotel. The toilet did not function well, due to very low water pressure, whenever the toilet was flushed.

We arrived at 3pm for check-in, but our room was not ready until 3:45. Once we finally got into the room, none of the lights were working, the AC was not properly cooling our floor or room, and our bedding had stains on them. When we tried contacting the front desk for assistance, we were told that only one attendant was available and no manager was on-site. After checking out and contacting Hilton customer service, we were told that we had been given a complimentary breakfast for the issues, but the hotel staff did not make us aware of that while we were there.

Older hotel but great staff
Hotel is outdated and bathrooms are old and should be replaced along with the carpeting. Humidity and temperature control were iffy. Beds comfortable. However, the lobby area is updated and the hotel is probably going to be updated in phases. The service and staff at the front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance were incredibly friendly and courteous - which made up for the less than stellar parts of the hotel.

The bathroom didn’t appear to be clean—red spots on walls, tshower area was black between tiles, faucet head coming out of wall!! Floor had long hairs on—we don’t have long hair!! Water in sink and shower took a long time draining!!

Not worth the money
Service was great and the air conditioning was amazing. Those are the only good things I can say. The bed is incredibly uncomfortable. You have to use all pillows for one person because they completely deflate within minutes. Dirt and grime in all corners. Some food was left on the floor, so I'm not sure it was cleaned recently. The curtains dont close, so the blinds are all that blocks the outside light, which is incredibly bothersome when trying to sleep. The TV is tiny and the connection was bad. The screen and sound kept glitching. The room is just rundown. For the prices that are charged, I would expect a much nicer stay.

I loved the service. I was disappointed at the fact of me getting a king room with a whirlpool and discovering after I paid that it wasn't available. That they were being transformed into a regular king room. They offered a free breakfast but I don't normally eat breakfast. I was very disappointed. I would've tried elsewhere if I knew that before booking the room.

i was not told their internet service was not working when i checked in. after a couple hours of trying to get onlilne, the front desk told me their service had been down for 2 days and didnt know when it would be on again. i checked out early and went to another hotel

It was ok, nothing special. The hot tub was empty (no water). The disappointing thing was I booked the “pay later” on arrival option with Expedia, but the hotel billed my credit card before I even got there. I intended on paying with my debit.

Overall the stay was remarkable. The staff was courteous and friendly. Shopping, parking and dining is very accessible. What I didn’t like was that the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. I informed the front desk about the issue but it remained the same.

The hotel was clean but its beginibg to show signs of aging.. while taking shower, i noticed something white on my feet. They painted the tub for previous repairs and with time, the paint chipped to my feet.

The room we got (327) had tears in the shades, the bath towels were ruff, abd the wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom. To top that off we were handed a box with 2 boiled eggs, a cold bagel, some cream cheese, and a cup of yogurt. Oh and we had 4 people in our room and we only got 2 of the boxes. I'm a Hilton Honors Member and this has turned me off on Hilton Hotels after 12 plus years.

I liked the staff. I came to Chesapeake to visit and celebrate my cousin that passed away an my cousin’s wife’s bday and there new home. While staying at your hotel on your property my Cadillac converter was stolen from under my car while I slept at night now I have to pay $900 to have it replaced and I’m very upset your private property does not give out camera footage which there was a camera right where it happened at I only have liability insurance on my vehicle so I have to pay, now I know it’s not your fault this happened but it really put a damper on my plans the next morning when I found my car like this because I brought my 10yr old cousin with me to take him to the beach for the first time in his life and couldn’t take him because I didn’t have coverage to have my car towed back or rental money so I traveled back with extra loud hazardous noise an fumes for 6hrs.

The service was poor. The management is terrible. They falsely charged me for smoking in the room when I didn't even smoke. They lied about having to spray the room because of smoke. I asked the manager was there any trace of smoke she replied only tobacco was found in the trash. The next day I called about the charges then they stated that the room was smoked in. Very unprofessional. Very poor service. I wouldn't recommend this so called hotel to anyone

Check-in with Sherrie was wonderful. She has the PERFECT personality for hospitality. The bed was so comfortable. The room clean. Thank you for 2 trashcans (1 in the room, 1 in the bathroom). Although, y'all need to check the water connection from the pipes/wall to the toilet...there was a small trickle each time the toilet flushed. Also, the tub floor is really slick; it could use a mat or grips. I enjoyed my stay, and will definitely come back. :D

I was surprised that no one was at the front counter for over 10 minutes. I waited with three other guest. The employee came from the back. No apology just started to check us in.
The room cleanliness is my biggest concern. Bath tub dirty, tile floor was dirty as well. The hotel is in need of a refresh and some deep cleaning.

Nightmare AtThe HILTON GARDEN INN!!!!
This was one of our worst experiences! We arrived tired and wanted to shower from our 24 hour drive trip…. The room we stayed in was muggy, there isn’t enough ventilation, it smelled like mold, it was dusty, and the pillows smelled bad. The toilet had blood on it. The lever was hard to flush and was backed up. We only had one towels or four people . I went downstairs and asked for more and was told that there was no more towels in the entire building. The shower curtain was so dirty with soap scum dirt and mold it stunk so bad!!!!!! It was disgusting! There was mold corrosion and a huge gap in the tub where water was formed into a puddle. We are wondering why this place rents out rooms in these conditions. Specifically in these times where healthiness is the upmost concern? We also paid for breakfast plan and the kitchen was closed. Thankfully we got reimbursed for our food mishap by Hotels.com

The tv did not work we only had one channel
The two days we stayed there . It was determined the outage was property wide . There also was Huge stain on the mattress not sure what it was . Staff how ever was very friendly and willing to assist where they could . Very apologetic and sympathetic to our situation and was will to give a refund but could not because of third party booking … Expedia ? was sup with that kick back ? Room was not up to par .

The beds, linen, tables and bathroom were clean. All the areas on the main level were clean and orderly. The only drawback was that the carpets in the hallway and rooms were quite stained and looked dirty. We’ve returned twice anyway because it’s the quietist hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the staff are wonderful!!!

The air conditioner in room 312 sound like a lawnmower all night , I was awakened at a time 2:30 and could not go back to sleep very disappointed complained to the desk who explained I needed to discuss this with the third party , which is Expedia however a maintenance request was submitted to replace the air .

Could use some TLC.
My wife and I arrived at 3 lm and were told they didnt have enough staff due to clean the rooms and that our room wasnt ready. The young lady that checked us in was very nice and it wasnt her fault and i understand that. We said we go out for an early dinner and asked for a text when the room was ready. We recd an initial text that we would be notified but by 5 pm we figured we should go check again. Thankfully the room was ready by then. The facility needs some TLC...the shower/tub had issues and was not very clean. There was a collection of window screens outside our window that looked like they were just thrown there months or years ago. Definitely not one of the nicer Hilton Garden Inns in my opinion.

Disappointed!
Check in was fine. People were nice. However very disappointed in the cleanliness. There was hair on the beds and in the tub. Not ours! There were handprints on the closet mirror that were lightly wet and sticky. Not cleaned. The bathroom floor was dirty. The bedspread cover was dirty. No WiFi all stay and the direct tv only had 2-3 channels working. Very disappointing for the cost!

My stay was ok although the bathroom door was uneven to the floor which made it hard to pull. There was no bathroom fan and the hairdryer was off the wall. The hotel served its purpose for me although I don't think that if I am in the area I will stay there again. The car lot was terrible and I don't think that it's protected from the homeless hanging around. The breakfast was horrible. A cold boxed meal if you call that breakfast. Com'on this is supposed to be the Hilton Garden Inn! This place is a 5/10 score.

The front desk staff were very polite and helpful.
The room was in terrible condition with a cracked/broken mirror door on the closet.
There was no room service or clean sheets (after three days). I had to request clean towels and only received 2.
The in-room coffee pot was never replenished.
The breakfast "box" was terrible with horribly tasting hard boiled eggs and small, hard, bagle. The only thing good about the breakfast box was the yogurt
I was very disappointed. I always look forward to staying at a Hilton - not anymore.

Close to Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Clean, Nice
The hotel was spotless, the staff helpful
We were heading to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel the next day after spending that day on the road, arriving at night. I ended up being very glad we stopped when and where we did. It wasn't that far to the CBBT the next morning.
Though late, there was a nice pub 2 minutes away called Kelly's to get something to eat.

This property is older and has not been cared for. Paint peeling off doors, scuff marks on walls, stains on bedding and towels. Amenities still not available although website still mentions them. Very disappointed with our stay.

We were charged 800 dollars when it was supposed to be 400. There was blood in the grout of the floor and wall of the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable. Not what we expected at all. Their computer system had us as checked out the first day we stayed so they came to our door questioning us. (Room 318)

I stay in the area for work several times each year and this is one of the nicest properties I have stayed at in recent years. Beautiful lobby, friendly staff, big rooms and a great boxed breakfast during Covid-19 restrictions. I will definitely stat there again.
