I called 3 weeks before my booking and confirmed that my reservation was still good. I received a confirmation from Stayable Select staff that everything was ready. When I showed up, the lobby was closed permanently. Signage pointed me to another building to check in. The place has been neglected for months. Trash everywhere. Squatters. Broken glass. No staff was answering the phones. Eventually I texted the number and received a text that my reservation had been cancelled. Absolutely horrible experience.

HOTEL SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING
We arrived for check-in, and the hotel was completely shut down, with a security guard out front turning people away. We had to find an available hotel immediately to accommodate our family. Our family needs a refund. This put a huge strain on our vacation.

Stayed here in 2017, so booked again in 2023. Our second trip was far less pleasant than our first. Totally understand that they are doing construction, but our first room had no A/C & a broken, unmade bed. So, we were given a second room. However, once moved in there, we were told we were given the wrong room. We moved all of our stuff again, only to learn it was indeed the correct room. These moves made us late to our event. Staff was kind, but unorganized & we didn't feel the price matched our experience. Won't stay here again.

No-Frills Stay
This location was originally a Wyndham hotel. The room was big, and the lake view off the balcony was pretty. The hotel is now older. Our room had peeling paint, a hole in the bathroom door, missing the stopper in the sink, and teeny tiny bugs in the bathroom. Our room only had two lamps, so it was dark, but it did have a microwave and mini fridge.
This is a no-frills stay - no cable, no water fountain, and no working ice maker on location. There is no front desk but a registration suite open for a short time, and no phone in your room. However, the staff is friendly, and they respond to your texts. If you want a place to run in, shower, and sleep, then this location will meet the bill.

The staff was rude and the property was filthy. There were bugs every where in the room and on the beds. There was no trash can. There was no toilet paper. The pipes under the sink leaked.

There was no staff at check in. It was a security guard who checked us in. Then we had to pay a $100 security deposit according to the security guard. The receipt I received doesn’t say it was for a security deposit. Just left and there was no one - not even a security guard to check out. Left our keys on the counter with 20 other peoples keys and am hopeful someone will refund my security deposit. Thank goodness it’s on my credit card so I can at least dispute it.
Also - the neighbors had their tv on loud all night and you could hear it in our room - kept us awake throughout the night.

I went to three buildings to try and find check in and finally had to call the over the seas number to find where to check in at and it was very inconvenient. I walked in and the hallways were filled with fans trying to dry the doors and rooms. There was paint pilling and mold on the walls. Very disturbing

ABANDONED MOTEL THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM EXPEDIA. I arived at 10pm to an abandoned building. Lobby was closed and looked abandoned with a sign to go to back of building for check-in. Arrived at said building to a utility closet door that was also closed with a phone number to call for check-in. No one answered the phone. Guy sitting in his car doing drugs just staring at us while we were in the back of a sketchy abandoned building in the dark. Felt very unsafe and didnt want to risk my life standing their spamming their phone hoping they will answer so i can check in. They also texted me on my personal cell as soon as i made the booking a link for credit card payment of $100 separate from Expedia. I never made the payment as i thought it was sketch and would rather pay deposits in person. I felt very unsafe and would rather sleep in my car then this place. Expedia never issued me my refund. I rather lose $60 then stay here and risk getting murdered or robbed. DO NOT STAY. IT IS A SCAM!

Never again.
Wouldn't ever stay here again at half the cost. Nice lady at "desk" (which was a guest room), but the property itself is very substandard. Have to leave a deposit (you get a text about an hour before you check in). It is extended housing for some community members, smells of smoke in the hallway and one long term renter filled us in on all of the "be careful" issues. Have photos of a dry rotted lamp shade, an AC unit off its base, base board stains, black mold on the door frame and the view outside our balcony (overflowing dumpsters). Reviews were promising, but the reality is that it isn't a place you want to stay. Couple of positives - bathroom was clean and up to date and the beds/linens seemed clean.

100 PERCENT GARBAGE
This hotel is apparently under renovation. They didn’t have anyone available at the check in desk. Doors were locked everywhere. Finally had a door unlocked for us to check in, only to have the one person managing check ins to abruptly leave to meet the fire department outside because fire alarms were going off everywhere in the facility. Once the individual returned and apologized we said there was absolutely no way we were checking in to this hotel. There were four other persons that had already checked in who came to get a refund and leave. DO NOT ever stay at this place!!! Don’t be cheap like I was trying to be. It is an unsafe place to stay on so many levels!

Property is under construction it took 3 rooms before one was acceptable and normal. First on had no AC sliding glass door and bed was broken still under construction. 2nd room was occupied. 3rd room was clean cold AC and all doors locked Staff was very nice and tried their best to find resolution.

Disgusting hotel.
This hotel is nothing like the pictures on website. It is disgusting. Please spend the few extra dollars and go to another one. We had bad bed bugs and ants and roaches throughout our room and no one to complain too. There was not any employees present unless in the morning. Ridiculous hotel.

Disappointed in my first stay with this place
Our stay wasn’t what we wanted. The hotel is still being put together. Office stays closed. It took us an hour to check in. We didn’t get the room we booked. Then when we get into the room the balcony door doesn’t lock. The room had dead ants everywhere even in the bed. When we went to let the front office know about the room. They said there was nothing they could do.

Do not stay here.
When the fire alarm went off, there was no management to come and speak to the guests, my room door would not lock and could not be locked, the safety lock on the top of the door was not functional, there was no hot water in the sink, and no trash cans. No management on property. No one answered my multiple calls to the published number or called back when I left messages.

I wasn't even going to review them because I dont like being negative in general, so writing a negative review isnt my style BUT then I checked my account and they charged me an extra $25 for checking out LITERALLY 3 MINUTES after 11am... How petty can you get! So for that, I will give my honest review: This place is extremely poorly run. Three individuals run everything from cleaning rooms to checking in guests. They were rude and keep you LOCKED OUTSIDE THE BUILDING/LOBBY until 4pm check-in time. The room was disgusting! Hairs everywhere, food/drink stains on the floor, NO HOT WATER, very few towels. Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at - and I travel fairly often. Attempt to stay anywhere in Gainesville except here. The lady who worked the front desk (and her apparent boyfriend) were courteous and seemed to be hard-working - I suggest that they look for jobs somewhere else in the hospitality industry. In short, this place is a dump.

When arriving no one was at Desk, Maintenance Man had to call and have someone come in. Tried to charge me full amount again when I had booked I was required to pay already and they were unable to find that information. There were Roaches on floor dead and alive. Very disappointing stay.

Terrible experience. Rooms were dirty, bugs in rooms. They charge you for clean towels the next day or give you the option to wash them in a laundromat. No trash cans in the room. I paid for a King bed, they put me in a double queen and said they ran out of Kings. Attendant told me I could get a King the next day. When I went to get it nobody was at the desk and they texted back saying they didn't have a King room. Given a decision to stay here or in your car. Stay in your car.

No notice that hotel was going through renovations. No lobby attendant. Keys did work on door due to low battery! No comforter cover.. just bed sheets.. seriously?! Disorganized atmosphere. Sink hot faucet could not be used. Freezer in serious need of defrosting.

When we arrived, the place was quite dirty and vermin was evident everywhere. We soon were introduced to Clara and her staff, who proceeded to clean up the place, making the visible housekeeping evident. If you stay longer than one week, no new linens nor housekeeping is provided, except for a fee. The water kept going cold, and we had to wait two to three days for it to be fixed; it kept happening the entire two months we stayed. The pressure, however, was fantastic! There were problems with leaking water from the room above us, and we kept losing the internet. There was front desk staff only between the hours of four and six, which makes it quite the challenge to check-in, out, or extend. Each time you extend your stay, you are charged a one-hundred dollar deposit, which is never returned. The laundry facilities are non-existent, as are any public restrooms. You must remove your trash from your room and take it to the dumpster at the edge of the property, which is a bit of a walk, but made for daily exercise. Early on, the people staying were very inconsiderate of others as far as noise levels go, however, as our stay progressed, a more civil group of people began to register as guests. Rather expensive for what they (don't)offer, however I hope they can fix this place up because the location is perfect, the building is sturdy, and the staff is pleasant and responsive, once you can get a hold of them!

Dirty Hotel in Gainesville
The room was disgusting. Dead bugs floated out of the drain in the shower. The floor was dirty throughout the entire room. The chair had stains on it and was sticky. Stains on the curtains. Dead bugs on the bathroom wall. The door frame going into the room was loose. Looks like the door had previously been kicked in. Went to check out and no one was in the office, tried calling and no one answered. Called the stayable select main number as was advised to slide the key under the door and they would check me out. Got a call 2 hours later to confirm my request to stay an additional day. Advised them that I had checked out and would not be back. I had additional reservations for this hotel but after this I changed them. I have no plans of ever going back to this place.

Deplorable and Disgusting
This hotel is uninhabitable, smelly sheets, dirty room, no front desk, they are locked behind a door that they don't open. There is a phone number to call them, they do not answer. The building is under construction and they shouldn't be renting rooms. It was the most disgusting place I've ever stayed at.

There was no reception at all. Room smelled like cigarettes and was dirty. Bed sheets smell like man’s perfume mixed with cigarette. Loud people around room. This is a rental unit, not a hotel at all. Many people live in the property. Room was dirty. I did not sleep there. I booked another hotel and got my things from the room. Did check out the morning after. Did not even want to stay the two nights I had paid for, REALLY REALLY BAD. Do not book this hotel.

Check in was a joke! The main building is closed for renovations and had a make shift check in area that’s only open 4-6pm, had to track down girl to check in, hallways stunk, trash piled by elevator, elevator smelled of body waste and mold, room was filthy, a/c was dirty, no coffe in rooms, the pics showing hotel are over 6 years old when it was a different hotel chain. Because I booked cheaper rate was not given any refund and I didn’t stay over 20 mins.

Death trap.
For starters, my room had mold on the walls, on the lamp shades, along with the bathroom. I attempted to contact the front desk/management and received no response. The hotel was advertised with a gym and a pool. Neither one was operational. I booked a non-smoking room but there cigarette and cigar smoke in the hallways. Check-in was a nightmare. If it wasn't for the maintenance man, I would have not been able to check in.
I plan on calling the local health department along with an attorney.
This hotel needs to be closed for health reasons. I booked two nights and ended up sleeping in my car the second night as a result of the mold.
I trusted your website and got royal ripped off.
I tried contacting Hotels.com for a possible adjustment to my bill and got no reponse.

Filthiest room I have stayed in years.
I mean, filthy! And trash on balcony, food leftovers inside drawers and several debris behind the room door.
Totally run down property.
Smells.
Zero maintenance.
Reception is in a guest room.
No hot water during 3 day stay - front desk clerk is friendly, but was unable to help. I called corporate and they never returned my calls.
My 3 emails requesting a compensation have been ignored so far...

Our bathroom ceiling was coming apart and it took several calls to get this addressed, staff is not immediately available on site to address issues. We were finally moved rooms much later that same day, but it cost us missing an event prior to the UF graduation we were there for. Next thing that happened is when we arrived back to the hotel that night, the new room keys did not work! We were unable to get in to the room and had to sleep in our car that night and our belongings were locked in a room we couldn’t access! We were unable to use the room 2 of the 3 nights and were only refunded one night. We paid at the property, therefore the property should reimburse us. Being bounced back from the property to Expedia and back with no resolution is horrible service. Made a trip for graduation which should be a wonderful experience, a total nightmare with regards to the hotel!

Do not stay here. It was dirty, outside and inside. There were bugs inside the room. Old towels with holes in them the furniture is half broken, bed sheets dirty, smelled terrible. We got in late and there were people just hanging out outside in the parking lot being loud.
They make it as no refunds because they know how terrible this place is. I couldn’t even stay there because I felt unsafe and just dirty. They still couldn’t give me a refund. This place shouldn’t even be posted on Expedia.

Holes in the wall eith an exposed water heater on the second floor. Towels along the trim of the halls with mold on them. Roaches in our room. Slimy floor. Exposed a/c wiring. If you have children do not bring them i cannot unagine the conditions of the other rooms if there are room with holes in them. Some staff is lazy and will put you in a wrong room, not have it cleaned, give you incorrect room keys. Extremely risky and dangerous checkout practice. Not worth the money.

University graduation weekend and your building is under reconstruction- no signs that’ll is boarded up because of construction- I thought I had paid in full and there was no operational hotel when I arrived. No sign as to where to go for registration, very very long line to register with one new person registering very slowly. Only 1 clothes cart available. Room smelled musty, no phone in room, tv not working, called hotel before and after registering, no answer, bathtub filthy, no extra blankets or pillows, THUS LOCATION BADLY NEEDS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Only good thing ample parking and excellent location for University access.

Room was ready when we checked in, but cleaning crew left dirty sheets and some cleaning items in our room. Floors were dirty - sticky and had nail clippings, Cheeto crumbs and gum wrappers around the floor. Furniture surfaces and glass door looked dirty and needed to be wiped down. Bath towels were thin and cheap. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Office was not open when I went to check out so I was not able to share my dissatisfaction with the office staff.

Absolutely worst hotel ever! The floor was filthy, the bathroom smelled of sewer gas, the walls had burn marks; essentially no part of this room seemed to have been cleaned in weeks or even months! The beds were OK, but they only had a single thick sheet for a cover. The ONLY good part of this hotel was the internet.

Never going back !!!
When we arrived, there was a line at reception out the door. It took just under an hour to get our room. Univ. of Florida graduations this weekend and only 1 person at the desk.
When we arrived in the room, everything was unplugged. The A/C was obviously being worked on as it was half way out of the wall and unplugged along with the outlet box cover removed. No phone or television in the room. A piece of the shower/tub escutcheon had broken off and was lying in the tub. I had to plug in the refrigerator, the lamp on the bedside table, and the wifi box Since the line at the front desk ( which is open from 4 to 6pm ) was farther out the door than when we arrived we decided to suck it up and stay. The weather was such that we didn't need A/C. In the morning when I went to make coffee the coffee maker had an old coffee ground packet inside. No coffee from that machine, thank you.
To top it off, although the room was fully paid on Hotels.com, they charged my credit card an additional $250 which I am contesting.
In their favor, the sheets and towels were clean and the beds were comfortable.

It appears that this property is in the midst of renovations. Our refrigerator and TV were unplugged. The cable didn’t work. The tub and toilet were both dirty. Our beds were clean and somewhat comfortable. The staff were very nice when we checked in, but it seemed that they were very understaffed. Overall, not a great experience.

Horrible check in procedure. Filthy floors. Roaches. Bugs in ice bucket. Sliding doors to balconies wouldn't lock in either of my 2 rooms. No one on property after 6 to call. No blankets in one room and no one to call to obtain. Office staff only in office from 4PM to 6PM. Arrive before or after that and "tough luck. The worst accomodation experience I've had in USA in 50 years as most places have become very service oriented and want guests to have a pleasant stay. You need to think twice about staying at the "Stayable" which is competing for the most un-stayable place in America and for sure, Gainesville.

After I have paid on Expedia I get a text saying that I have to pay $100 for damages ?????? before arriving at the hotel. After calling they explain to me that it is a deposit. The dirtiest hotel I have ever visited. From the carpet on the floor, walls, door, table, etc., but it was too late to change hotels and I had already paid for the night and a deposit. No one at the front desk to check out. No one answers my calls for the "deposit" to be returned. Save yourself the trouble and never stay there.

Horror show
1. there are no personnel available for issues that may arise between the hours of 8pm-7am and from 12 noon - 4pm.
2. the rooms have no phone with which to call the "registration desk" or emergency services if needed.
3. rooms are unclean by any standard. the floors are sticky, towels are thin & worn, elevators broken, stairwell is unlit & very dark
overall a very unpleasant experince. the name of the establishment "Stayable Select" is quite apt in that it is stayable if you choose to ignore the severe deficiencies.

This motel was so gross. Linens and trash were left out in the hallway and hadn't moved our entire stay. All the surfaces in our room were dirty and sticky. There was piles of dirt, chewed bubblegum and a used condom on the floor between the wall and the bed. Half eaten sushi was just sitting in a plant in the hallway by reception, everything was just so gross, I feel dirty even after I showered.

Room not as described on website, stains & mold, peeling paint & wallpaper, half of lights & outlets not functioning, hallways full of dirty linens all weekend, corridors outside piled up with trash all weekend, property claims to be under renovations, appears to just be falling apart or was in the process of demolition & work just ceased, not handicap accesible with areas closed off for claimed remodeling & no temporary handicap access in place.

Learned my lesson, spend the extra $.
Waste of non-refundable money. Rooms not getting cleaned. Room that we finally got that was ready missing main blanket for bed, hairs on pillow, just plain nasty place to stay. Ended up booking another hotel later that night due to concerns about safety, damage to vehicles, etc. Should not even be no hotel site to book. That bad.

No office to check into, no employee to talk to. Room was infested with bugs, blunt ash all over AC unit, blunt on ground, smoke detector ripped out of wall. Overall filthy. Our one year old ran to the AC unit and swiped his hand in the ash before we noticed it was there. Totally unacceptable. Left that night and didn’t stay the next night either. Hotel won’t refund for either night. We will be following up with health inspectors etc.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! - I wish I could upload the pictures that I took. Not Kid safe or friendly. This property is filthy and nasty. The rooms are old and this hotel should be gutted and rebuilt. OLD PROPERTY and NOT CLEAN AT ALL. Floors were dirty, pillows on the bed were FULL of mold - yes I said MOLD. Microwave was flaking on the inside and rusty. Bed was full of stains when I pulled the linen down. I was so dissapointed when I walked into this room. I was also hesitant to park my car on the property. I can't express how dirty and filthy this property is - DO NOT CUT CORNERS on price to stay here. Its not worth it. I checked in, walked into my room and basically checked out. I also took pics and wish I could upload them. ONLY good thing was that the staff were friendly! - Jonothan the property manager was very nice and understanding when I called him to let him know that I could not stay at the propety. Please do not cut corners and stay here, especially if you have kids. Its not clean and you will NOT feel safe at all. This property is a little bit on the "outskirts " of town.

Property was rundown but under some renovations. Room was dirty and noisy AC unit. Bed was comfortable and nice TV. Arrived when 6 police officers were there investigating something. Maybe using hotel to house illegals or homeless. Someone vomited outside our door

Check in is a pain. Due to construction, main office has been temporarily relocated. No sign on the front door. Just an easy to miss sidewalk sign. Another sign indicates the building number with vague directions. Upon finding the building, it still wasn’t clear where to go. They really need to invest in some signage! Otherwise, property was average but a good value.

A Stayable hotel for Shands Hospital.
The room was better than my room 2-weeks prior across the hall. Still no hair dryer. No bath mat and only one set of towels. But, the rate is great and the hotel is convenient to my Shands appointment. Looking forward to the bar and restaurant opening again for service.

Property front lobby under renovation. Temporary front desk is in a guest room with confusing detour directions. After late night, building doors locked, no night staff, no front desk, no one answered phones until 9am.

Trash cans had not been emptied.
TV had all the cables disconnected from TV.
Hotel has no phone number that you can call.
The central ac/ heating system was set to cold air only. Heat would not work.
Homeless folks wandering around the property asking for money.

This has to be the filthiest most run down place I have ever stayed at and for some reason they take the most deposit for a 1 night stay. DO NOT STAY HERE! The bathroom was so disgusting I was not able to use it.
