We enjoyed Turtle Cay!
Excellent front desk staff from check-in to check-out. The pool and hot tub were up and running. We are certainly interested in returning one day.

Disappointed in Va Beach
The "Resort" is clean. The bathrooms are a bit dated with those big ugly tubs but the living/eating area is great!! Very comfortable.
They need to update their lamps and such to include USB ports for charging. Really no excuse for not keeping technology current; esp. at such a small expense.
I was really disappointed that the balconies were closed!! The locks were removed so you couldn't go out. We arrived at night and didn't know why until the next morning. They are doing repairs on the balconies!! I get it that these things need done and off-season is the best itme to do it BUT I should have been informed BEFORE booking the room (Hotels.com!) I would have ABSOLUTELY chosen a different hotel. Trtle Cay staff said nothing about it when I checked in. NOT happy about that.

Property was lovely, staff very professional. Tub had a slow drip that was bothersome until I turned the faucet so it ran down side of tub with no noise. Next door "neighbors" were extremely noisy late into the night, so our sleep was regularly interrupted and not at all restful.

Very noisy place.
Chose this hotel from online. Check in was easy, room not ready but we didn't wait long. Fridge in room had inch of water in the freezer portion, fridge had been turned off. Put large towel in freeze also to mop up water and maintenance came and checked. No hair dryer in room but employee came fast with a brand new one. Then upstairs group checked and for the next 5 hours it sounded like they were playing soccer, non-stop!! Happy New Year! Next AM, went to desk and report the noise. They said they would speak with the family. I understand kids are a handful but when it is so loud with furniture being bumped, too much! A few more calls to desk, they Maintenace up to speak with them. At around 4pm one could hear SCREAMING from the unit outside. At that point we checked out a day early and drove 3 = hours home. The hotel staff was excellent, it was not their fault that romper room was up above us. BTW, New Year's at 3AM the fire alarm was set off for about 30 minutes. Very disappointing trip.

Spent two weeks last year. Fire alarm went off multiple times during our stay, thankfully daytime. This year we returned for another two weeks. A variety of guests above us. Could always tell by the foot traffic. Kids running all hours of the night. On our last two nights, we had new neighbors move in. The vibration on the walls were extremely loud and annoying. We did not complain because we do not like to stir up any trouble. Since it was only 2 more nights, we just endured it. The last night, New Year’s Eve, was terrible. Noise outside our door from neighbors (smoking) well past midnight. Shouting and hollering in the streets at 1:00 in the morning. Then to top it all off at 3:00 am the fire alarm went off. That went on for 30 minutes. Not the restful night we were looking for when we had to travel the next day. I realize the fire alarm is not the problem of the resort, but the noisy neighbors made for an unpleasant stay. Uncertain if we will return next year.

After arriving I had a lovely Greeting but was then informed I would need to wait for my room to be cleaned. After two hours waiting with small children we were given our key and room number. They allowed as 2 extra hours before checkout as a courtesy. We had no issues with the room. After a decent evening we had put our kids to bed and we're all awoken by fire alarms at 2 am. No one in the office answered our calls and for over two hours blaring alarms continued to go off waking up and traumatizing our two youngest. We were standing outside in the cold the entire time waiting for the chance to re enter. Three hours after this housekeeping came to oust us 2 hrs before we had to check out. Our intention was to extend the staff refused to provide any compensation or discount for the amount of time we were unable to simply be in the room which is the intent of the room to begin with. We were then given an hour to leave with no resolution to the concerns of ANY of the guest. Be careful as the facility seems to have an issue with have to wait for rooms frequently.

The room had dead roaches on the floor and had roaches in the cabinet. Check in was at 4 but the room was not ready we had to wait an hour and 30 minutes which was very inconvenient.

I've stayed at this property on many occasions. I made reservations at least a month in advance and was given a room that was completely on the opposite side of the elevators. I was told that it is all that was left.
The reservation clerk was an idiot. Let me say that again, an idiot. I requested a room close to the elevator; however, I didn't request a handicapped room so there were none close to the elevator. He said that I needed to request a handicap room to be close to the elevator.
Secondly, the room was not equipped for tenants. The carpet was filthy and I do mean filthy. My grandchildren's socks were black on the bottom. We just threw them away. I had to call for spoons, stoppers for the sink, there were no wine glasses, a bowl or saucer was missing (there were only 3), the refrigerator made noises all day and night, the rack in the freezer was disgusting and the knob to control the temperature fell off.
Additionally, the large pot sticks and needs to be replaced as well as your entire drawer of knives. Lets add in the sofa, throw it away. The sofa bed was good, but the sofa needs to go as well as the dingy chair beside it.
I was charged resort fees, why I don't know. The internet connection was horrible. I had to use my phone as a hotspot when my grandchildren were visiting and I was working online. But, my bill contains a fee. Laughable at best.
I was disappointed with this stay. Your resort needs to do better.

Very nice stay
We had a great time. The location was perfect. I liked that turtle cay was not like the other resorts, not cookie cutter, where they all looked the same.
Construction was underway, but it wasn't horrible. The staff were very accommodating, and responsive.
Would stay again.

My stay at the Turtle Cay was not worth it. I was unaware of the balcony renovations until after I booked. It was an eyesore and very inconvenient. I was upset prior to even arriving to your “resort”, but I kept on with my reservation because my mother use to rave about your “resort”. A couple days before arriving, I called about getting a room away from the check in/out building and I was put in 201. When getting to our room, I immediately wanted to leave. The odor was so stale. It smelt like no one had been in there in months. No smell as if someone cleaned for arriving guests. I had to keep a good attitude bc I had less then 24 hours with my husband for his birthday and I didn’t want to be negative. I opened the front windows and left the front door open to create airflow bc the balcony was inaccessible. I then went to turn on the fireplace to dilute the smell but it doesn’t work. I have to call the front desk to get it working; it eventually gets running. I then decide to use your bath and about half way before the tub is full, the hot water stops flowing then of course the hot knobs falls off and I have to adjust that back on. I had to call about getting a hair dryer and when I called for it the lady who answered sounded shocked and said “there isn’t one in your room?” There was also no hand soap to wash your hands anywhere. I tried to make the best of my stay, but sadly wasn’t a good experience.

The young lady that checked me in was so nice and helpful. Did the best she could to try to accommodate us within her limits. I was not informed until I arrived that all the balconies were locked and under construction that just happened to be around the pool area….how inconvenient. The pool was supposed to be a
Heated pool and it was so cold that everyone was in the jacuzzis. So we couldn’t even utilize that. Also the fireplace didn’t work either. The young lady was the best part of our trip

Turtle Cay is safe and clean. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The balconies are being replaced so we missed being able to sit outside and enjoy our coffee and cinnabon pastries. Turtle Cay - already booked our 2 bedrooms for Spring Break!

The elevators were not noisy, but the sound of baggage carts shook the walls daily. It became a laughable moment. The baggage carts were like mini trains going all day long. The beds in our room were shot. They moved freely and made noise with it. They weren't level. Everything else was well supplied and prefectly enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay at Turtle Cay Resort. The grounds, landscaping, and pools are kept in excellent condition. I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the carpet in our room. We spent quite a bit of time in our unit due to poor weather and the carpet turned our feet black after walking on it all day. It seemed like the front door to the unit did not seal well because we could still hear traffic outside as if the door was still open. Lastly, the washer/dryer combo in our unit had a leak. We never used the washer, but by the end of our stay, the washer was half full of water.
Despite the few issues with the room, we had a pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed something (extra toilet paper, etc.). I would stay here again.

Duck poop and aggressive time share sales staff.
As the hotel is undergoing renovations, we got a discounted rate. The work on the balconies was fine and did not take away from our stay.
The room was a nice size, clean and well stocked with dishes. There is no housekeeping which is fine but also no indication that we could get an exchange on towels or anything.
The real issue we had was with the pool and the "concierge".
At check in, you are directed to the concierge who is just a timeshare sales person. She seemed nice at first but refused to provide the coupon booklet unless we agreed to go to a timeshare presentation. We declined that but it left a bad taste.
Then there was the pool issue. There are 4 resident ducks who appear to be living in the pools. The pool is cleaned every morning but as the ducks are not house-broken, they defecate in the pool all day, every day. I am sorry, but I don't think that paying for the privilege of swimming in duck feces is acceptable despite the staff saying that the chlorine makes up for it. As I pointed out to them, if I was pooping in your pool every day, you would certainly do something about it. Seeing as the pool was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel, I was upset and disappointed. In the end, we ended up cancelling the additional 3 days we had booked there.

The hotel staff was nice. Condition of property was so so. Yes, they were doing construction on the balcony’s so I did take that into consideration. First night we got there we were so tired from traveling 7 hours we just went to sleep. 2nd day/night we went to the Air Show (fabulous) and then we got back to room late and my wife and I wanted to watch TV in the bed and just relax cause we were going back to air show the next. We turned TV on and it was broken. Not a big deal we told them about it the next evening when we returned from air show and they immediately replaced for us. The next couple days and nights every time we would walk around to go to vending or pool or to get ice we would see cockroaches running around on the hallway boards, never saw them in our room but still pretty gross. The pool looked nice till you got down to it and saw the duck poop all over from the ducks that would swim in the pool. We decided we weren’t going to attempt to even swim in that after seeing all of that.

i was bummed the balconies weren’t available but they will be done by next year. issues getting into the pool with room keys but they were in the works of being fixed

all in all the one bedroom suite was a huge area and has a fire place and the bedroom was a good size too bathroom was huge as well. the ducks are living their best lives and i know people may not like it but i didn’t care they didn’t bother you.

Make the Accommodations for the Family Vacationers
I bring my Grandchildren to Turtle Cay to vacation because it’s kid friendly.

ROOM balconies not accessible to resort's guests this fact is not mentioned in the resort's amenities section on Expedia. All balcony doors are locked and pose a potential fire hazard to guests because it leaves Only one way out exit in case there is a fire. If the main guest room door lock malfunctions for some reason, you & your family may be locked in the room without an alternative exit. I can't believe the city's fire marshal allowed that. In addition, upon check-in, guests are not notified of this unsafe fact. Nor is it posted in bold print at the registration desks. We only learned of the unsafe fact upon entering the room & trying to open the balcony door. Only after check-in, was I later informed of the site's locked balcony doors while calling the front desk staff to report the unsafe situation. I feel there shoukd be an alternate exit if a stove is located in the guest unit. I was told by the staff ALL balcony doors on the property were locked. This is a blatant unsafe decision of the resort. Please call the site to verify if the balcony doors are in fact locked before making a reservation. I feel the guests should be well informed on the unit before reservation & check-in is completed. Then, you can make the decision if you want to take an unsafe risk for you and your family by staying at the property or not. Be Safe.

So I am not one for complaining but this has got to be one of the worst experiences ive ever had at a hotel!! I will say the 2 pools here were fantastic and our girls loved them but thats where the positives stop! The pictures are very deceiving and for spending almost 500 bucks for a night you should get a way better atmosphere!! Stomping all around us, screaming kids and then there is the noise on the street. Idiots running up and down the street all night long! Its past 11:00 and there is no sign of it stopping! Crotchrockets doing 90 down the road and taching the stupid thing to pretty much the max! Apparently most of the community thinks this is a drag strip. Im thinking the combined IQ of most of the people in this town is about 36!!! The room is run down and dirty everywhere! Stains on the walls and carpet. The bedding had stains on them and everything is old and outdated. This is peak season and you can't even use the balcony because of remodeling. Doesn't make much sense that you do that kind of project this time of year! If i would have known that I would have never booked here! Very disappointed and will near be back to this area again! If not for the 13 hour drive we have tomorrow i would pull my family and leave this place tonight!!!! We came from Mrytle Beach, do yourself a favor and go the extra distance. This place doesnt compare in the slightest to South Carolina!!!!

Staff was nice and courteous. The rooms/balconies are in the process of renovation/improvement so there are some rooms that are a bit dated but they were generally clean. I agree with other reviewers that the carpet needs to go; it may be clean but doesn't look like it due to it's color and appearance. I found it strange that the updated master's bathroom in the family suite had a design flaw: there's a half wall shared between the shower and the tub, and when they installed the glass enclosing the shower they did not leave any space of that half wall as a ledge for placing toiletries like soap and shampoo. You basically have to place things on the floor or outside the shower. Or maybe they forgot to install a corner/wall stone for this purpose? Also, the master bathroom tub's cold water ran at close to a trickle when fully opened so it only ran hot water and I had to have my toddler (who isn't used to showers yet) bathe in the other bathroom's tub. Nice amount of space for the 2 bedroom family suite. Great location close to the quieter end of the boardwalk.

Nice property close to lots of dining shopping and the beach. Pool is really nice and the rooms are clean and updated. The only think that kept this from a 4 star rating was that the balcony was locked and unusable. All balconies were shut down. Other than that a really nice place.

Our room was awsome, loved it!! The staff was really nice as well!! However the smell of marijuana was overwhelming not just at the hotel but everywhere. Couldnt take my grandbabies to the pool bc of ppl smoking at the pool sad turned it in couple different times my grandbabies never did get to enjoy the pools!!

The balconies were all closed off saying they were doing construction. There was not one balcony that was being done. The rooms walls were filthy to were I was cleaning blood of the walls so my kids would accidentally touch them. At 11pm at night I heard a water fall coming from our bathroom. The toilet from the upstairs room was leaking dirty toilet water all over our bathroom from the veiling after they flushed. Had to pack up all our stuff and sleeping kids to move to a smaller room for the rest of our stay. There was no apologies or compensation just here is another room and it’s smaller sorry that’s all we can do. Poor staff and the place is a dump.

Arrived at 4:00 pm and our rooms were not ready. This was happening to a lot of people checking in. It took 3.5 hours to finally get in. All the balconies were locked, could not use due to some sort of inspections. Only one elevator to the third floor located at the opposite side of our room, and the stairs we could use were being painted. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful.

we really liked the property. the pools were nice. convenient to many things. but VERY disappointed with the way things were handled during checkin. the computers were down so we arrived at 3:15 asking to check in a bit early, but we weren't allowed in a room until about 4:45 and that is only be cause we hovered. finally allowed us in a room (smelt very smokey) but had to be let in by an employee!!! do you know how uncomfortable it is to have to go find an employee EVERY SINGLE TIME. oh and did i mention to get in to garage AND pool. it was such a pain!! the girls at the front desk didn't really seem concerned but the gentleman that let us in (Daniel) was super kind and continuted to say it was no bother at all. he was SUPER kind. and after such a terrible check in, we had a cleaning person start showing up at 9 ish asking to clean. really... as terrible as our check in was (no paperwork or key) he came back 3 times to suggest we go. honestly, we weren't sure when checkout was? prob should be posted in the room instead of sending the demanding cleaning person.

My family’s overall experience was good. The pool was awesome. The room had some issues, like the closet door would come off track, dirty handprints on the walls, bathroom had a cigarette butt on the floor, hole in the walls, etc. so that was disappointing. I reported the issues to staff when I first got there so they knew we didn’t do it. They were very understanding and even offered compensation for this. The service was AWESOME. Staff is AWESOME. I think I’d definitely come back, but the cleanliness needs to be better.

We ended up cancelling our reservation after our parents waited 3 and a half hours to get a room. The staff was friendly and we feel bad for them as it seems they are extremely short staffed and we hope they find workers soon. The hotel also looks outdated and could use a renovation.

Noisy and Declining Property
Long check-in (45 minutes in line and at desk) and after all that time of giving info and submitting payment we were told that our room was not ready (and it was 45 minutes after the advertised check-in time). After displaying disappointment, magically a room was available. When we got to our room, someone had already washed their sandy feet off in our tub and left us with a wet tub mat and only one clean towel. We called front desk (twice) for more clean towels and they delivered them at 9:47 pm (we had lights out and were in bed at that time). But the worst part of this stay was the annoying jack-hammer like noise that you could hear outside or under our room go off about every 15 minutes and last about 15 seconds all day and night long…awful for trying to get any rest. We have stayed at Turtle Cay many times, but will not likely be back after this subpar and ridiculously expensive stay. Also, no access to balconies…come on Hilton. That is one of the best features of this property.

The pool is very nice.
The room looked good but the carpet was filthy. My neighbor said the same thing. Breakfast would be great too.

What did we get ourselves into.
Carpet was filthy, couch and chair was filthy and stained. Chair was hard as a rock. The bed was hard and Uncomfortable. Bathroom floor tiles were cracked and popping as you walked on them. Some disgusting wall stains down the hallway. Not enough hot water for a family of three. The dryer takes 5 cycles to dry one load of landry. On the good side. The staff wad nice, pool was nice.

The room smelled funny and our last night here the fire alarm went off at 12:20 am for over an hour. They didn’t do anything to compensate for it. The staff when arriving was friendly. I liked that we could use the amenities at the sister hotel as well. Overall I just think it’s such a run down town. All the hotels around look beat down and dirty.

The pool is great for family ! My 5 year old loved it ! Only thing they need to provide more than one filter for the coffee maker !

Great stay end of boardwalk
The hotel was great with the amenities for the price we paid. The kitchen that was very helpful. The heated pool and Jacuzzi tubs were great for a cool weekend and clean and very nicely landscaped. Great location.
The birds could use a little updating, as they were a little springy. But the sheets and linens were soft, so that was nice. The service desk went out of their way to make for a great stay, and everyone was awesome! Only complaint was that it was a bit noisy in the morning with hotel staff cleaning rooms early. (9am) Overall we had a wonderful stay!

I brought my 6 sons here to enjoy the pool and the beach and they did just that! The staff wer so so kind and accommodating. I believe the maintenance man’s name was Kevin and he was very helpful and patient. Also Ping and Kendal at the front desk were very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating! The only downside is that it is not a “beachfront property”, it doesn’t have and inside pool and it could use a few renovations. Oh yeah, the parking deck spaces are quite small ( the parking was the worst part to be honest). However, my sons had a blast & could care less about parking and decorum. Definitely a family spot not a couples stay in my opinion! Again the staff were perfect!!

I loved everything about my stay. The only complaint is that the condo smelt very, very musty which was not pleasant to deal with. Other than that it was very clean looking and the staff was fantastic.
