The pool was a lot better before the changes , there was dirty underwear in our closet the tv didn't work so I called the desk , they said they tried to get their engineer but he did'nt answer so I went down to the lobby and had to ask them for a new room before they did ... this place once was a nice hotel

A 2 week stay gives you time to really rate a place. IMHO this hotel is only weeks from closing. Minimal staffing - and many safety issues related to the swimming pool.
The bar is only open on Friday and Saturday nights. It was closed NYE! Restaurant also had limited hours.
The swimming pool has no working emergency phone. The door into the pool did not lock, so anyone can walk in. It also had the normal scum on the top tiles. Pool temperature was nice.
My room and bed were very comfortable. I did have a leaky door closet and reported it multiple times. They did not fix it. I had to avoid the small oil patch in the doorway. Lighting was inadequate. One lamp still has a CFL bulb.

I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for many years and always counted on the bar Restuarant being open nightly. this seemed to have changed in the past years. i still plan on staying at this hotel in the future and hope things will return to normal.

Family fun
Went to visit family and had the grandkids stay with me. They sure loved the pool and the glass elevator. The room was nice and large and the beds were very comfy too. Would definitely stay here again.

We had prepaid for our hotel room a month in advance. We were celebrating the holidays with family members and thus didn’t check in until 5am. Upon check in, the woman at the desk informed us that because we arrived so late that we were counted as a no-show and that we were unable to obtain our room although we technically had it until 11am. She said if we wanted a new room we would be charged an inconvenience fee plus another room fee. After informing her we had driven 6 hours and needed to drive 6 hours back and that we only wanted the room for our allotted time to sleep, she said there was nothing she could do for us. Safe to say we will not stay here ever again due to the staff and policies.

The rooms are really nice but not soundproof at all. We heard the people next door screaming at like 2:00 am. The elevators had a strange smell and the glass windows looking outside from the elevators were filthy

The only thing I would change is allowing folks to have an early check-in. There was a line of us waiting for 3pm SHARP so the front desk attendants to check us in. We were all traveling to get to a wedding at 5 and could've used extra time to prepare had we had an earlier check-in time. It could've been a judgement call from the hotel to at least get those rooms ready first to be more accommodating.

After reading the poor reviews I was skeptical of staying here but so glad I did. It was clean and comfortable. There was a restaurant and bar opened most evenings which had very good food. There was a buffet style breakfast. It was a little expensive for the breakfast but I only payed half the cost because I booked it with the room. They made up my room each day on request and there were no odd smells or bugs. It was very clean and staff were friendly. My only “minor” complaint would be is that the showers do take about 20 minutes to get hot. But once they do they are plenty hot enough. I wasn’t in a hurry each morning so I just turned them on and did my own thing for awhile.
I would most certainly stay here again.

The property was very clean. After you checked in it was like they didn’t want bothered with you. We stayed from Friday to Monday and not one time did you see housekeeping, we requested clean towels and the lady at the desk said she would take care of it, but we never got any towels. When you used your card to get in the room you had to go to the front desk because they never worked to get in, and it was just not us there was other people that could not get in with their card either. Only one elevator worked and it took so long for the one that was working it was ridiculous. And you need more carts to take your luggage to your room, we waited for someone to bring theirs back but never did and there I am a 65 year old man with a heart condition making two to three trips for luggage from the parking lot into the hotel to wait for this one elevator that took so long it was pathetic. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything was so good!! The staff was so nice and the room was extremely clean upon arrival. Everything was comfortable and truly was a pleasant stay.
The only two things I would have to say are that I wish the indoor pool was warmer so we could swim (although I totally understand it’s cold outside now) and that only one elevator was working. With only one elevator working it took more time to get to our room.
Other than that we love this hotel as a little getaway!

LOVED this hotel and will definitely stay here again. Decor and cleanliness is impeccable & service is good. Super comfy beds, super spacious rooms. Only complaint I have is that I was placed into a room with a connecting door to someone else, so I could hear their mid-day nap snoring - but nothing at night, so that’s good! I

Property overbooked the room style that i wanted. Was put in a smaller room. They gave me a breakfast voucher for the inconvenience. Unfortunately I can't use it due to having to leave before it starts. There was hair in the bed when i pulled the covers back. Overall not the worst place ive stayed.

The property is very nice. The breakfast was good too. There is a nice pass right by the water behind the Hotel, which was very nice as well. However, you have to drive quite a bit to get to a nice restaurant.

The hotel is very nice. The staff at check in were so friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative is we could hear the man next door on what I guess was a conference call loud and clear. And one call was at 3:00 a.m. otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.

Property and room are very nice except I booked through Expedia and they charged my credit card early in the morning before I checked in at 7:15pm. The charge was also 2.5x what I booked room for. A rep did come over and knew about my situation and explained that it was accidentally charged in the morning and for more than what it was supposed to be. I just hope that I’m charged correctly. 3-5 business days for the excess charge to drop off seems excessive.

My husband and I stayed for our honeymoon. The only thing we didn't like is the water pressure in the shower was really low and the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. We purchased breakfast ticket but were not able to use them due to breakfast was only from 6am - 9 am so we never got to try the food. Otherwise, we loved our stay and are planning on going again whenever we can want a weekend getaway. The staff was a great help as I had surprised my husband to take the train to Chicago but wasn't sure where I needed to go, the ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful by not only giving me info on where the train station was they also gave me some suggestions of where to visit while in Chicago. We never heard any noise inside our room it was peaceful and quiet, I highly recommend anyone traveling to stay here.

Check in was bad. Computers were down. Sat for dinner with no service until the bar tender seen me and help. Only one elevator work out of two. The one that did work stopped at every floor. There was always a line of people waiting to use it. Finally had room service clean room, more towels new bed linens on the last day of a four day stay. No service for breakfast. Not worth the money.

Shower issues no help or apologies
Hotel was nice overall, but only one working elevator, only a handful of luggage carts available. We had to move rooms due to a clogged shower drain with no apologies or assistance, my elderly in laws had the same issue with a shower flooding into their room and then no power had to move them out of their room with an iphone flashlight in the dark again no apology or assistance or even a discount for the trouble. I would probably look elsewhere.

Property and staff were super awesome and nice. I just noticed the bed/sheets were stained. We had a baby so at that point when we saw it it was too late to bring this up. We also had a no disturb sign in the morning and room cleaning was knocking to clean but not sure if they were just trying to get us out

The receptionist went to look at room to confirm if it was a king or 2 beds. She didn’t make us aware 5at the room smelled, the window looked into the indoor pool and that it was a handicap room. I was aware that they were sold out for the night, and since we were only staying 1 night, I didn’t complain. However, with 3 kids, we noticed the handicap shower isn’t a good idea. The entire bathroom floor was quickly flooded. I was told the indoor pool closes at 9p, but it was being used till 10pm. Normally, I wouldn’t care, but we were there for a dance convention and littles needed to be up at 7.

This property had a lot of maintenance issues that went unresolved throughout our stay, Elevator not working and second elevator running extremely slow, Wifi throughout hotel not working for entire stay, staff and management appeared to not care or be addressing the problems.

Room was OK probably should be modernized with some decent furniture, the decor was drab. Only two elevators and one was broken. Room air conditioner was loud prohibited a restful sleep. Breakfast was included but wasn't the best, it was advertised for 19.99 in the elevator (not worth the price).

the room i was initially given had such a strong smoking smell that it gave me headaches. they did switch my room which was good. the rooms where the ice makers and vending machines were supposed to be were empty. no ice makers or vending machines were available.

Very elegant, open design. Room was ready for me way earlier than check in which was great. The property was beautiful and the pool was great. Very quiet and peaceful. Service was outstanding at the bar.

The outside of the hotel was nice but the part I didn't like the railing in the pool was broke and loose the pool had mold on the intakes and was very cold and had way too much chlorine in it my girlfriend got chemical burns on her the next day at breakfast was decent but their food was not fresh as it should have been the cheese was old and mixed in with new cheese the sauces and bacon weren't separated so therefore is very greasy and it has very limited drinks there for people half a jug of milk for everybody that attended breakfast on ice no orange juice which was disappointing eggs were cold bacon and sausage was cold and a french toast had been sitting there too long and then on top of all that they charged me $100 incidental fee which is four times as much as any hotel in the local area and it took them over 10 to 12 days to get it back to me I'm still waiting for it I will probably never stay at a Holiday Inn again

I appreciated the kindness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms, however we found the pool room and pool to be rather cold which made it difficulty for our children to stay in the water for more than 20 minutes. Restaurant wait times were also very prolonged despite low guest volume.

Wishing for better
We have been staying here for several years hoping it will get better! It could be. We stay because of location and few choices. There was no food or drinks at the cantina. The only food is a $20 breakfast. The shower has very little pressure. We were there 4 nights with no housekeeping or fresh towels. Were only give 2 when asked at desk!

They don't have room service beyond your first day. you must go every day to the lobby to get fresh towels, coffee pods and cups. doesn't seem difficult to put 3days worth of towels, coffee pods and cups inroom for a 3 night stay. safety certificate in elevators have been expired for over a year.

Lack of check-in customer service.
When we checked in we were not given any directions for finding our room, where to park, WiFi login or other services available. During our stay there were children in the halls running and screaming throughout one night. We have never stayed anywhere that this information was not given at check-in. This made the process very confusing.

Large crowds, they cant control or service properly
There were several weddings taking place...which the crowds were okay, but the kids running up and down the halls were bad. No security came to prevent this and continued until 2 in the morning.
Breakfast was crowded due to the crowds, so food was cold when brought out for breakfast. Not sure if made earlier just large colume... unable to keep it hot up to serving.

Service was great. No room service , even though room service was indicated on Hotels.com website. Handicap accessible room was barely acceptable at all. Tub was too high. Sundry store was only full of Candy and chips to eat. On a Very positive note, the bed was Very Cozy.

This is intended to be private. We enjoyed our stay but I do have some omments. The entry door was difficult to operate. The handle had to be pulled upward to function. The bathroom door hinges made an awful noise when opening or closing. The bathroom ventilation didn’t appear to be adequate. Also, we had reserved a lake view room but did not recieve one.

Last Time !
As I noted on my check in review this hotel does not honor any third party reservations. I asked for a room with a king size bed was given 2 queens. When I complained they said you booked through a third party and they do not have to provide. They gave us room 241 which had broken draps and smelled musty and smoked in. My wife and I had the worst night of sleep so we had to leave at first light. The Holiday Inn was a real disappointment since I had used them in the past even during COVID times when they were for sure struggling. Will never stay there again. Hope they change their rules and remodel their rooms so this room does not smell.

Our bathrooms (two rooms) had not been cleaned very well—dirty sink, dirty floor, a vape pen on the counter. Dirty towels had been removed but not restocked. We had to get towels from the front desk several times.

Towel shortage
The location was perfect the indoor pool the kids liked. The room was fine. The service not good. I stayed for a week asked for our room to be cleaned daily and would pay extra for it. Only 2 times they came. We ran out of toilet paper. Towels where a huge issue. ESP. Going to the pool never towels so the kids ended up air drying. This is unacceptable. It was a holiday weekend and the restaurant on site was closed. That Made no sense.

I DO NOT recommend this property!! I was NOT told when I checked in that housekeeping only comes if you request them to come and that I had to have coupons to give the restaurant every morning for breakfast for 2 of the 3 of us that I had paid for w/reservation. We had to pay $20 every morning for the breakfast buffet for my son-which was NOT worth it!! Breakfast should also go till 10 am everyday because for those of us on vacation, we don't always make it by 9!! Our shower was gross and the light kept going on and off. Worst of all the housekeeping issue - first wasn't told only come upon request, then told after your 5th day (which was a LIE), then when I requested them come on our 6th day THEY DIDN'T CLEAN ANYTHING!!!! ALL THEY DID WAS MAKE BEDS!!!

The hotel was updated,clean throughout ,and the kids had a blast in the large pool! I will definitely stay here again! One of the cleanest hotel rooms I have stayed in and we travel quite a bit.

Stay at super 8 instead
The overall condition of the building was rundown with cheap repairs made to look modern. There were water stains throughout the building and the bedding in the room had what appears to be sharpie stains. The bathroom had a loose toilet seat on a toilet that did not flush properly, the faucet leaked from under the handle when turned on and there was something smeared on the wall that looked like a blood stain. One corner in the room along the floor had the base board missing and the metal drywall corner was sticking out. On top of all the issues with the room they charge you for damages before you see the room. If you stay here be sure to inspect the room before deciding to stay here.

Pretty nice hotel. Rooms are really small and the staff don’t come around to clean for the three nights I was there. Also couldn’t get any clean towels when me and my kids ran out.
