Large room
Room was large with a nice family room area separate from the bedroom. Bathroom had both a large shower and jetted tub. We would definitely stay here again!

Extremely unsatisfied!!!
I had indicated many weeks in advance that I would like an early check in due to an event that I was attending. I even indicated that I was willing to pay extra for the courtesy. When I arrived, I was told that I couldn’t check in early because they had updated their computer system and they couldn't tell which rooms were already cleaned and available. But get this, the gentleman that they helped before me was allowed to check in early and they had no issue figuring out what was clean and available. All it would have taken is to contact housekeeping and ask them which rooms they had ready. The fact that they had no issue in figuring out what was ready for the gentleman before me and then tell me that they couldn’t do the same for me was astoundingly rude. I was treated differently for no other reason than they didn’t want to put in a little extra effort for me. This is called discrimination.
As a result of the desk people’s incompetence, I was forced to go down the road and use a gas station bathroom to change into my formal attire and get ready for my event.
Don’t give me any hogwash that there’s no guarantee that you can check in early either. If the gentleman before me was allowed, then there was zero reason I couldn’t. The lady at the desk told me she knew there were available rooms. She just didn’t want to put in a little extra work to figure it out for me.

The room is spacious and clean, but the bathroom was not in great condition. The roof above the shower was peeling from being wet and there was a hole in the paint so it looked really bad.

Convenient location to Phoenix airport. Lots of homeless walking along the busy noisy street (44th st). My first floor suite had a musky/mildrew smell.

The property was beautiful overall, a very nicely run hotel. However, there were no USB ports in the room and the complimentary coffee in the lobby was disgusting, brown water I believe. I was forced to purchase a $20 breakfast just to have a good cup of coffee. The area around was a bit rough. I know real estate bear the airport is cheaper but this was on a whole new level.

Spacious, clean, great!
My wife was traveling back home and stayed along with my sister in law and her family. They loved it how big the rooms are and how big and clean everything was. Very different to an Holiday Inn Express which is what we usually book. Very recommended.

Very nice!
Very nice and comfortable rooms. Check in & check out was very easy. The only draw back was that the elevator was down for a couple days, but we were only on the 2nd floor. Road noise is to be expected on he road side.

I was really frustrated about their breakfast. We travelled as a family of 5. I added breakfast for 2 as this was the only option when I made the booking. When I checked in I asked front desk about the breakfast for the remaining 3 of us. They charged me additional $20 for the 3rd adult and said the kids are free ( 12 and 10 years old). The next morning, the restaurant staff mentioned they only had 2 people listed for breakfast and they needed to charge us for the rest of three ($16.95 per person). I had to go back to talk to the front desk and they said they forgot to notify the restaurant our room should include breakfast of 3. So at the end the restaurant charged us additional $18.42. So just for the breakfast for 5 of us, I paid $10 when booking + $20 when checked in + $18.41 at restaurant = $48.41. Very frustrated!!

Comfortable enough
Our stay was a typical hotel stay. The bed was comfortable and we had lots of room. The shower needs some work. When you pull the knob up for the shower only half of the water went through the shower head. The rest of it kept coming out of the bath nozzle and the tub didn’t drain quickly so I was standing in several inches of water. The decor was a bit outdated and they seemed short staffed. The bar was not open the entire time we were there. The outdoors fire pits were cute and kids were in the pool and hot tub, so that looked like a nice time.

While the property itself was modern and nice, the hotel was clearly overbooked for what staff could handle. The television did not work, and no one came to repair it upon request. The room did not have towels or pull-out bed linens, and the front desk clerk admitted that there was only one housekeeper on staff for the entire hotel. Last, and worst, we had cockroach nymphs in the room. Disappointing experience.

My only gripe was the bedding for the pullout was not in the room and I had to call for it twice and it finally came up after an hour but there was no mattress pad. Would have liked for the hot water to be hotter as well.

I usually don’t do reviews, but I believe people need to know what happened to us in this particular hotel, I traveled with my family, we arrived late and tired, we just wanted to go to bed, pull out the sheets and found a few pubic hairs, obviously whoever did the room didn’t change the sheets from the previous stay, that’s just plain nasty, lucky for us there was one housekeeping lady still in the last minutes of her shift, she was very helpful, change all the sheets and kept apologizing for someone neglecting their job, this sucks because I’ve stayed in many different Holiday Inns in a couple different countries and they’re always clean, so please check your bedding if you ever stay here.

This property is close to the airport and had all of the amenities loved their hot tub and the rooms were nice and clean and quiet made for a quick getaway to the shuttle so we can conveniently take our little trip with very little hassle .

It’s my second time staying at this property and I enjoy the rooms but the service from the staff was terrible I asked for a late check out and front desk clerk who answered the phone answered rudely I’ve stayed at other holiday inn and they have allowed the late check out but did not appreciate the way the staff would answer and did not feel welcomed when I arrived as well will think about staying here next time

Great staff, clean, but not a comfy stay
The staff was nice and very helpful. The place was clean. But the condition of it and staying there sucked. I was right by the road and it was so loud that I actually ended up sleeping on the sofa sleeper, which when I opened it up. There were no sheets or anything on it so I had to take them off the bed. The mattress was stained, which was kind of gross but I was too tired to go and complain. The toilet didn’t flush very well in the morning And I wanted to take a bath, but the plug didn’t really work on the bathtub it was also very dark inside even though it had lamps and everything it just seemed not very nice. The gym was beautiful and clean but two of the treadmills are out of service or didn’t work quite right. I’m glad that the third one did, and the elliptical seem to work and the cables and everything was really nice. the guy at the breakfast buffet was very very nice. I only took fruit so I can’t say how everything tasted a lot of it was processed and stuff like that as far as other things that were there and then they cooked stuff with stuff that I just would not eat. And the Shuttle took a while for pick up. The guy was nice. The van smelled like marijuana.

We loved the quiet for our baby. The room with a door separating living quarters from bedroom was amazing for night wakefulness. Clean. The pool was outside the door and easily accessible. thank you.

Great Family gathering spot
Good place for family to gather to attend my daughter’s wedding celebration events. The pool was wonderful, usually under- utilized. Loved the ambient music by the pool. Loved the large bottle amenities too, so much better than little squeeze bottles! The gazebo area and fire pit areas were great places for family to gather before and after the events. Rooms were clean and quiet. Close to many things to do in Phoenix as well as restaurants and grocery shopping. Had a great stay!

The hotel was nice, the bedroom faced a busy street so it was not that quiet. Air conditioner was weak in bedroom. I also did not like their "no cash" policy. Cash is legal tender and if they said they preferred cash I would not have had a problem. I will not stay there again.

A Tale of Two Norths
I’m traveling with a group. We choose Holiday Inn North. The trouble is that there are two Holiday Inn Norths. The other hotel is a mile away. Our group got split. The grumpy man at the checkin desk did arrange for transport for the other part of my group. The area is sus.

This is my fifth stay at this hotel. Always clean, quiet, lovely grounds, I enjoy the pool and the staff are always friendly. The shuttle from the airport is very convenient and the driver is friendly and helpful. I ate supper at Burger Theory for the first time and the food was really good. Menu is basic but good! I’ll be going back in October.

I wasn't told on check-in that the key cards can be demagnified if placed near a cellphone. I put my keycard (not in the envelope) in my purse and left for the day. When I came back, i couldn't get into my room. Due to the extreme heat, I had nearly had heat stroke.

The room was very nice! I figured out how to work the air around night time not cold enough for my liking. The burger theory prices were way to high for basic foods I walked to get food. The pool was packed from the time I checked in til closing time so I didn’t get to enjoy the pool area. Visit Phoenix/Scottsdale with Ease
Great location with access to the freeway system just 10 minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale. The rooms were more than adequate and clean. A number of the airlines use this hotel to overnight their crews. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a 3 Star Property. I love it is pet friendly. The courtyard is lovely, shaded and cool. The pool is relaxing . The restaurant is not great but friendly and easy. I thought the morning breakfast was really nice. Staff all around was friendly and so important. I would stay again. The buildings, gazebos etc need some fresh paint and clean up a bit. Thanks for everything.

The property was fine. However I felt we were “screwed” as while I’m certain disclosed, we didn’t have breakfast provided. Having breakfast included is one of best things for us. We grab a bowl of cereal, eggs or yogurt, a piece of fresh fruit, coffee & take off. Arrived at breakfast only to be told w/o voucher it would be $16.95 each. Very disturbing. Don’t need a gourmet meal, but SOMETHING offered to all guests s/b included. Felt we paid plenty for room to include breakfast. Boo Holiday Inn!

Sadly, we discovered our sink was leaking within minutes of arriving after a long day of travel (soggy floor, leaking pipe, water draining exceptionally slow and then leaking all over cabinet onto floor as it drained). We contacted front desk who offered to send maintenance, but after waiting approx. 1 hour, no one showed and we had to get to sleep. We discovered in the morning that the shower was also broken, and as a result we could not shower or freshen up before breakfast and more travel. Additionally, the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, and prevented us from getting work done. When we contacted the front desk in the morning to address all of these issue again, they said there was a different way to access Wi-Fi than indicated on our room key; after showing them our room key they admitted the mistake. They simply offered 10,000 “points” IF we signed up for the IHG rewards. When asked if that was equivalent to a free one night stay, the answer was no). We were told there was “nothing else” they could do since we “booked thru a third party” (Expedia). We were told we could try calling or emailing Expedia to get the situation rectified, but they offered nothing for the broken & unsanitary room conditions at the property.
Overall, it was the worst hotel stay we have ever had in over 20 years of traveling all over the world.

Body fluid stains on bed and old food on carpet!
So we checked in and the grounds of the hotel looked nice. We went to our room and at first glance it all looked ok. But then a few hours later we noticed there was an old chicken bone under the coffee table next to the couch. We didn't eat anything in the room so the house cleaner didn't do a thorough cleaning. Then we inspected the bed and there was body fluid stains on the sheets and a pillow case. (Did they even change the sheets and pillow cases?!?!) It honestly looked like semen stains. So we headed to the front desk hoping for a quick solution but the front desk didn't even apologize and just offered us a different room. It was around midnight and we were dead tired from a long day of travel so we took the offer and my husband and I inspected the 2nd room and found a brown stain on the pillow case and a couple stains on the bed AGAIN! Front desk once again didn't apologize and offered another room. The 3rd room was finally clean. So we packed up all our stuff and moved to the 3rd room. We didn't get offered an upgrade, comping our stay or even an apology. If it wasn't so late we would've gone elsewhere. If you decide to stay here CHECK YOUR BED SHEETS!

Feeling scammed
I booked a night at this hotel last month. On the way there our rental car broke. The first thing i did was contact hotels.com. They told me there was nothing they could do for me. I pleaded with them to try moving the reservation to the following night, but they said they could do nothing. As soon so we got home I called the property directly to speak to a manager, hoping he could do something for us. I left several messages on the managers voice mail and never even got a return call, Talk about great customer service. I understand if they couldnt give us a refund, but at the very least returning my phone call would have been the right thing to do. Not hearing back from them makes me feel ripped off... i basically threw away $200

This was the first & last time I would ever stay at a Holiday Inn. You had to pay for parking and breakfast that tasted 2 days old. Had I known the area better I definitely would have stayed at a different hotel.
