Nice staff, in the middle of everything in the keys, nice short walk or bike ride to Bayside Gourmet for lobster bisque and a great Cuban sandwich, and a short drive to Robbie's and a cruise with Sundance Water Sports on the "Blue", Excellent.

We had a great time at this resort. The amenities were perfect, kayaks, hammocks, snacks and don’t forget Felix the cat who made us feel more at home. My next trip I will book my full stay at LaJolla. It’s also walking distance to a few good happy hour locations.

Free upgrade!
We received an unexpected free upgrade to Lodge Bahia - a 4 bedroom home with its private beach area. The resort is so well kept and lots of activities to do right off the dock. My family enjoyed use of the free kayaks, snorkel gear and fishing gear- they even gave us free bait! Staff were all very kind. Highly recommend Islamorada in December.

The LaJolla is a throw back to motor hotels from mid last century. The facility is on the gulf side and has a gorgeous view from its small beach area. It has a lot of stuff for visitors, a shave the weather precluded our use. Islamorada is quiet, but there is plenty to do. It would be great in the summer, but only okay in the cooler winter.

quiet and relaxing! loved the snorkeling out front as well as the flexibility to use the bikes! loved having our morning coffee bayside:) room was comfy and updated and the kitchenette was a nice plus!
should have picked up a la jolla hoodie sunshirt in the gift area...so cute!

Our stay was amazing, the staff was so helpful and friendly. Loved meeting the resident cat Felix, and how much there was to do at the hotel. The fishing was spectacular and the sunsets were breathtaking. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Islamorada.

Amazing property with lovely rooms and an amazing private beach you can relax on. With equipment for kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and fish complimentary on site for guests. Had a great stay here, staff were very helpful and there’s a brewery across the road!

Boat docks available. Kayaks and fishing poles available. Picnic palapa tables by the beach. Very relaxing property. They have a pool too but we preferred the ocean view by the boat dock beach area.

Build in the 1940's this property is just off the beaten path. It's a no-frills place with a nice ocean view and tropical vibe. The King size bed was comfortable but the pull out sofa not so much - and when pulled out made the room very tight. The bathroom had the smallest sink we have ever seen but it was clean. For a one night stay it was reasonable and close to the dinner and breakfast place we went to.

Cute Boutique Hotel!
This boutique hotel was awesome! It was a small property but very well maintained. The girl who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The room had plenty of space and was very clean. The beach area was small, but we used their kayaks and went around the bay, which was very pretty! We love the small boutique hotels, so if you are not into the big corporate hotels, then this one is for you!

Love the retro look of the motel. Renovated room, very clean, no carpets, small kitchenette and well air-conditioned. View of Barley Basin, Everglades side. Small pool surrounded by vegetation, parking. Well-maintained site. Warm, friendly staff.

The unit was very clean. If you are staying here for a fishing week, this place would probably be great. It has some docks and looks like a nice place to snorkel on the Gulf side.
We were in Islamorada for a
wedding. While the unit was extremely clean, there were no counters in the bathroom or a full~sized mirror in the unit.
LaJolla is DEFINITELY Old Florida.

We booked the Comfort Room with 2 Queen beds. Upon arrival we discovered the bathroom ceiling height and shower were only 6 feet tall, not standard height. My husband is 6’4”, the shower head only rose to his chest so he could not shower in our room, he had to use the outdoor shower by the pool. The front desk wouldn’t move us even when we offered to pay the difference.

Paradise in our backyard
La Jolla resort is like your own private paradise in Islamorada. On the Gulf side with beautiful sunsets and very friendly staff. Pool was warm and room was just perfect for me and my wife so simlpe but plentiful.

We had a great short stay at La Jolla Resort! The beds were comfy and the resort itself was nice. We took advantage of the paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkel gear. Also catching the sunset from the back on the hammocks was an added plus!

Mostly good job refreshing an old place. Was odd to have sliders that don’t open bc there’s no balcony. And they had paint splotches marring the peaceful view. The shower was not inviting. Didn’t use it. But the room is refreshed and the location is walkable to a few things.

I travel to Islamorada every few months to go diving with Key Dives. I usually stay at Amara Cay or Hawks Cay which are closer to the dive shop, and often overpriced - even this time of year (April) for FL residents. LaJolla is comfortable, quiet, has great beach area and docks, plus kayaks, swimming, and lots of beach chairs. Ver relaxing, and $100 cheaper!

Way overpriced. Terrible road noise and poor windows and door make for sleepless night. Mold on the ceiling and very humid in the room. Pictures on the website are misleading. This is a two star motel. I don’t recommend at all. What a waste of money

This was enjoyable for our one night stay. Quick, easy check-in. Beautiful, large room - ground level unit K. There were many cars and we saw other guests but didn't hear any noise from neighbors. Although the road noise was very noticable while sleeping.
A quick walk across the street to the Islmadora Brewing Company was a great way to relax and enjoy a flight of beer and cocktails on their back patio: the frozen key limei cocktail was wonderful.
We also took advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards for a morning paddle on the calm bay.
