I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND to my worst enemy the staff is rude other guest screaming and running around the floor we were threatened by the staff that we either had to pay a pet fee or show id for our service dogs they refused to give us our deposit there is raw 2/10 wires with tap covers exposed to the elements. We were put on the second floor even after requesting bottom floor due to my daughter's health conditions. This was a horrible place

Front desk personnel was not pleasant at all upon checking in! Poor customers service, non informative on all the services which was included in the cost eg breakfast, airport shuttle, gym, etc!

The whole staff are horrible and very nasty. Don’t ever ask them for anything if you find something broken don’t ask the staff about it. They will treat you like it’s your fault things are broken in your room.

Unfortunately I somehow accidentally submitted a review earlier that should be disregarded. This property and its staff have been very accommodating and kind to us. It is close to everything and quiet and the staff if very helpful and friendly.

Deposit required
Check-in was as expected; front desk was friendly. I was mildly surprised by the $100 deposit that was required, and I feel that we left the room as we found out, so I will be very surprised and disappointed if we don't get it back.

Front desk lady as she won’t say her name ask 5 time . Charged 45 extra dollars for a room that she said was renovated . The place was disgusting, the knob came off the shower the towels where dirty, the doors paint was pealing off all the doors, they gave me shampoo that was half used the shower curtain had mildew on it They had no ice bucket I ask she said they don’t have ice but gave me a bucket. My Daughter call the hotel they said they charged me 45 cleaning fee so now your charge for a room than cleaning fee . I paid before I got in the room . This place scams people out of money and The front desk person doesn’t have a name she calls herself Front desk lady. She would not give me a phone number to call she told me to look it up my self. This person should not work in any place dealing with people. I call the clarion and they said the hotel could only refund me the money she scammed from me . The Clarion shouldbe ashamed they are a big company and allowing hotels to scam people .I also called the Clarion home number and they said they would send it to the higher up and I ask if they would call me back ,she said no they just look in to it but don’t call you back .Shame on the Higher up people you want to get paid but won’t t talk to customers , you have a job and you wouldn’t have a job if people like me didn’t stay a your hotel. I will never stay at any of your hotels ever again. You get paid to sit on your ass and do nothing shame on you . Go stay at your scum Hotels.

Spend your time and money on elsewhere.
I checked in around 9pm, they sent me to a room that had the door wide open and had trash all over, then they sent me to another room, the blankets had stains all over, the ac/heater stunk and had black mold in the filter which I cleaned in the bathtub, the drain didn’t work right in the bathtub, the tv kept shutting off on its own every few minutes, the table was a hazard and the legs were barely on it, I had 2 beds that killed my back and I chose to sleep on the floor on night 2 because I woke up in pain, I told front desk about this, they barely spoke English, and charged me for a whole extra day when I chose to check out a day early because I was a half hour past checkout when I got stuck in traffic leaving my child’s Boot Camp graduation even after all theses problems. Oh yeah they reuse the shampoos and lotion bottles and they weren’t filled, plus the cops were pretty frequent. Not happy, gross place, they charged for everything at breakfast aside from coffee and a banana.

The hotel itself really has a lot of potential however the rooms need some major deep cleaning and touching up! The beds and pillows are very uncomfortable and I would highly recommend upgraded to a better quality! The towels they have all need to be thrown away asap, I get saving as much as possible and cut cost when you can but to go as far as only allowing ONE roll of toilet paper and in the event you run out you literally have to take the empty roll to the office!!! That’s a bit much but if it works for them I guess. The housekeeping doesn’t exist or only work once a week, never seem to have one around. The staff could do better on customer service b/c it’s definitely not a warm welcoming but again whatever works for them!!

I was not expecting a stay experience similar to the Taj Mahal, however I did expect clean sheets and mattress covers... oh, and mattresses and pillows that were free from bed bugs! The front desk did allow us to change rooms, which seemed (hopwfully) bedbug-free after checking, but the beds were disgusting - sheets had not been cleaned and were literally deterioriating on the beds, mattress covers had all sorts of colors of stains, candy, dirt, food crumbs, hair and God knows what else. Again, for the price point, wasn't expecting something for royalty, but clean, bug-free beds felt like a reasonable expectation - I just hope they actually have someone come in and professionally clean the rooms/beds, but I highly recommend you check closely if you stay here.

The hotel is OLD but could have been clean torn carpets in the rooms filthy towels fithy walls not even a spindle for the toilet tissue ! add to that glitter red glitter on and in the bed first time i have ever stayed at a clarion that was awful I have pictures from the breakfast bar and the seats there its awful let me know if you want them and want to know about hthe breakfast bar

HORRIBLE AT ITS FINEST
This was the worst place I have ever stay! From the bugs, no shower curtain in the bathroom, the floor was stupid dirty. The microwave looked like it was never ever clean with left over noodle cup in it. No tv remote. The mini fridge was dirty. This hotel needs to be shut down. Although the front desk lady was ok she found it funny when we complained about the unsanitary of the place.

When I arrived, the gentleman was kind, however checking in at 1:30 am being sent the run around with first a dirty room, broken toilet. Then standing there waiting for him to find me another room….he like will put you in a renovated room (I’m a gold member, should of started with that in the first place) I go up too 2nd room to only find my room key did not work, another trip to the front office… mind you at this point it is 2 am. Not I’m impressed. Clarion used to be nice, this hotel, was very dirty, inside and out

From best to worst. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows were perfect. We both had a solid night's sleep. However. The outside trash cans were overflowing. I mean not just full,but piled up all around. The ice machine downstairs did not work and the ice machine upstairs functioned poorly. It took several minutes to get 2 cups of ice. Breakfast was very bad. The juice machine had no orange juice and the cranberry juice was a pale, discolored watered down liquid. The waffle maker and toaster were broken but there was no sign telling you that. There was waffle batter and the waffle maker was full of uncooked batter. The person taking care of the breakfast area did not seem to care. There were sausage and egg sandwiches on a warming tray, but the warming tray did not work. The sandwiches were at room temperature and who knows how long they sat at that temp during a 3 hour breakfast period. Finally, the silverware was in violation of SafeServe protocol, as it was placed eating side up, so everyone was touching the business end of the utensils. Safe practice requires eating utensils to be placed handles up, as any food handler should know. Choice Hotels might want to reconsider their branding of this franchise. Clarion is supposed to be one of their mid-grade hotels, but I have had better experiences at Choice economy hotels, such as Rodeway.

This was probably the worst experience I have had being in a hotel. When we checked in and got to our room and walked in it was disgusting the room had not even been clean the bed covers were on the floor and towels were thrown everywhere and the smell dont even get me started. Me and my husband were given another room and it still wasn't clean either. The smell around the property was so bad. There were people tripping out on drugs all around us and going in and out the rooms all night long. It was so bad and not safe at all. We had to constanly watch our truck to make sure no one tried to break in it. People were walking all around the property all night.

the saff credit for going out of their way to make my stay nice. The room was clean no sign of major wear and tear. The bed was good and the sheets were soft. My room did not have a tv remote. It took some time but they found one for me. Thats big for me.

So so nasty. There was pee on the toilet when we first arrived to the room. There were questionable stains on the towels and the bed. There were insects in the room. I felt so dirty I couldn’t stay the night. I went to a different hotel not even 10 min of being in this place. I felt unsafe and disgusted. Don’t book a stay here.

Everything was good. More attention could be paid to details, like mirrors, tubs..etc. The property was quiet and front desk staff was efficient. If traveling through, I would recommend, for the price alone.

Building maintenance was very poor. From hanging light fixture in the bathroom and broken desk lamp. The carpeting was stained shower curtain appered to ha e blood stains on it and tub was filthy. Iwould never recommend this place to anyone

I knew it wouldn't be the greatest hotel ever, but just needed it for the night to fly out super early. I picked this hotel because of the airport shuttle, but was informed that night they had no driver. I think they should have to inform you of that ahead of time. Also, the place may have been fine for a male traveler, but for a female being all alone, it was a very creepy place. My room didn't look like it had been cleaned, there were cigarette holes in the comforter (please just replace, you can't do that), old stains on the towels, and very lumpy pillows. I slept fully clothed without covers and hoped there weren't bed bugs. I've learned my lesson and will never go cheap again!

We waited for 15 minutes before we could check in because no one was at the service desk. The breakfast had a very small selection. The lighting in the room was very poor there was hardly any light in the room.

The towels provided were stained and a chunk of hair was folded up in a bath towel. Stains were on the bed cover and both chairs. Carpet was extremely dirty.

According to the website there was airport transportation. We called the hotel over and over again. No answer! Finally after waiting for almost 2 hours for an Uber we arrived at the hotel only for the desk clerk to tell us they discontinued the shuttle!!
They put me and my child in rooms on the second floor on the other side of the building! No elevator. I am disabled. got in the room.. smoke detector hanging offf the wall, phone and light switches were dirty!called front desk.. NO ANSWER!! We called Expedia and told them we were leaving in the morning! We would have left that night but it was 1am! Very disappointed! These hotels are usually better

Our room was not clean. The bathroom smelled of urine and the floor was dirty and sticky. The nice lady at reception offered to give us another room; but my husband was so disappointed that he wanted to leave the Clarion altogether. The lady at reception said she would make note of it to the manager; but she was not authorized to give a refund. We will reach out to Expedia.

Floors were sticky. Blood on toilet seat. Walls are thin so could hear the room next door until 2am. Breakfast was a joke. Fill it once and don’t refill. I couldn’t see the lady behind the counter but could hear her talking for 30 min straight on speakerphone until another customer came up to desk to complain about cleanliness.

Rooms Need More Attention...

The place is a gross. Stains on the sheets, the door to the room had a gap all the way around it that a mouse could fit through, no remote for the tv. Needless to say we did not stay and would never stay even if they offered us a free stay!

Better breakfast
Only issues i had were, coffee maker didn't work,front desk nor Hotels.com applied my 15% coupon. Breakfast was not very appealing, more like first come ,first served. Only four Breakfast sandwiches a day,which were gone by 6am. Kept getting locked out of room for some reason beyond my control. Overall its a decent place to stay for a lay over with friends.

This place is BADLY in need of a renovation. I called twice before my stay and both people who answered the phone didn’t understand The questions I was asking. When we got there, the check-in person was extremely nice and personable. But the room was a complete disaster. There was rust on the towel bar, the electrical outlet face plate was broken, the sheets had stains on them, the tub had rust in it and a hair in the tub, the bottom of the shower curtain was brown and disgusting.

Disturbing encounter with owner-management.
I’ve been a reasonably good client here, staying often enough that I am recognized when I check in and by the housekeeping staff. But new owners have proven to be problematic to say the least. There was a plumbing leak in a room I have stayed in before m, which then turned into a flood over the whole bathroom floor 1/16th” water. I myself had used very little water and not from the shower or bath. The leakage was so substantial as to seep into the swath of carpet in the room nearest to bathroom sink area. The room carpet got very soggy very quickly. I reported it to front desk at 3am. The night clerk on his own initiative called the maintenance man who showed up at the room within 10 mins. He took one, turning to me saying”I know what that is.” Turns out he had seen exact same in other rooms. Corrosion had bron through the main under-bathtub pipe. He assured me that he would inform management next day. But next morning the owner wife became nothing short of ugly with me, shouting an extended tirade about how I had ruined part of the room by coughing into the carpeted floor and housekeeping was refusing to clean, so disgusting it was. I repeatedly mentioned the leak/flood and the maintenue man’s visit. She kept shouting, “No flood! No flood! You ruin carpet. You must not cough disgusting on carpet! Disgusting!” I did not once raise my voice but I kept correcting her on the facts, but politely. This scene went on for nearly 10 mins; then she abruptly disappeared!

Double room was spacious. Broken toilet handle, dirty shower, smelled like weed. There were what appeared to be cigarette burns in the comforter in my no smoking room. Staff were efficient during the check in and out process.

The hotel staff is by far the RUDEST group of people i have ever met in my life. I am baffled they havnt been sued yet. On top of that if your im a situation where you have to stay more than a day or a weekend watch your account bc they will rob you blind. And everyone has a different answer om where your money is and why several 100 payments come out of your account a day.

the filthiest hotel ever
when i first arrived they assigned me a room, when i opened the door it was visibly dirty and had a stench. the covers had visible holes and burns and tatters in them. when i proceeded to the bathroom, the tub was filthy had ashes and mold stains and black spots all over the tub i literally screamed. the second room the assigned me was a bit better i was in a rush for my event so hurried and dressed. when i arrived back at 2 am, i pulled the covers back to sleep and there were blood and stains and brown spots all over the sheets. i checked out right then and there and slept in my car then drove the 3 hours back to nc at 4 am

This property needs to be updated. Had to change rooms because the door didn’t close all the way. Towels and bedding dingy, to say the least. The towel rack in the bathroom actually feel off of the wall. I don’t recommend staying here, until it is seriously updated.

Very dirty!!!
We could not get a ground floor room for my elderly mom. There was trash still in our room. The sink was clogged. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The bath tub had caked up soap scum all over.

The front desk was exceptional. She was so nice and accomodating. Luckily, we were very tired and just needed a place to sleep or we would have demanded a refund. The bathroom was very dirty and we spotted a roach crawling on the wall in the bath the next morning. I understand it is an older hotel but water is abundant to clean and exterminate please! We will not be returning.

The room was dirty. There were roaches in the room. My car was kicked in the rear bumper by someone at this hotel. There was fresh paint on the ground where my car was parked. I would not recommend this place to anyone who likes to have a safe place to keep your car. People hanging around in the parking lot late and drinking. I would rate it a negative 10.

The stay was awful, the room was dirty, good leftover in the fridge, shower and sink were dirty, used towels left on the ground and behind the door. I checked in, saw the room and immediately checked out and went elsewhere

The room had an odor, the entry door had to be pushed hard to open. The door had a space between it when closed, allowing light in the room. I asked for a extra blanket & was given a sheet, stating that's all they had. The microwave was outdated. I will never stay there again

The motel was average. We couldn’t get the heat down enough, too hot. The refrigerator hummed all night. The towels were clean but yellowed and the one was cloth had black smudges on it. The bed slept good. The location didn’t seem to be in the best area. The staff was friendly
