The breakfast was decent, but way understaffed. No plates available, tables needing to be cleaned, etc. The bartender decided to close at 8:45 on a Saturday night. We were on a group trip and wanted a place to hang with the adults. Why even advertise the bar if it’s open from 4-8:45 on a Saturday?

I booked a room with two beds for the trip. I made this booking 6 months on advance. Show up and all they have is a single King. They offer to send up a roll away bed. The roll away bed was terrible. The drain in the tub/shower was barely working so you couldn't take more than a two minute shower. The air conditioner sounded like it was a giant air compressor kicking on and off all night. On a map, the location looks like a good location, however the way all the goofy interstates and frontage roads work, it takes 5 minutes of u-turns and triple lane changes to get from the hotel parking lot to going the direction you want to go. You spend a lot of time seeing the hotel from the interstate.

The property is extremely difficult to get to and out of. The property A/C was broken, so all main areas were extremely hot, many rooms had tape across the doors like a crime scene. Constant construction type noise during working hours. Ice machines didn't work. Cable tv was fuzzy. Staff was friendly and nice.

Unbeknownst to me the property was under construction. The air conditioner was absolutely awful. It sounded like there were rocks being shaken in a coke can when it was running. I informed the front desk and they sent maintenance and was informed that the a/c was old and that all the room made the same awful noise. Horrible stay!

The price for what you get isn't worth it, breakfast is not included as advertised. And pool hours aren't worth it, Hotel room was missing a personal microwave, and when we asked for extra sheets and towels--we weren't given any in prompt time. We had to come down and get them. Fees are ridiculous!

This hotel could be really great... except: Limited staff made the restaurant be closed. You could only get snacks or some sandwiches basically at the bar. I had to call the hotel main switchboard to get someone to check me in. I called FROM the main switchboard! The room was nice, but badly in need of maintenance. Towel racks about to fall off the wall, and the worst was the noise. There was a loud mechanical noise coming from above the bathroom the entire time. VERY LOUD. The AC was extremely loud also, but the worst was when the blower for the AC kicked in, it sounded like a jet engine taking off. This went on the whole time we stayed there. Needless to say not much sleep. I didn't bother asking for another room as we were told many were "being renovated". Personally I didn't believe it. For longer stays you only get maid service if you specially ask for it. The only thing that was really superb was the bed. It was heaven. For a Hilton hotel, their standards have dropped significantly for the rates they charge. It wasn't made up by giving me a fresh warm cookie on check-in. Won't be staying there again. I was seriously let down.

Both rooms they put me in had holes in the walls and the heating did not work. I did appreciate that they provided a space heater. I also noticed hair in the bed which tells me they didn't change the sheets. I was really disappointed.

The room we were in had plaster peeling off the ceiling over the sink. The carpet had a wet smell. And the amenities didn’t include a microwave which I think is useless. Why have a refrigerator for food storage if a microwave isn’t there for reheating?? Also, the coffee maker was so tiny and the coffee cups were so thin I didn’t want to risk burning myself. The front office clerk was so slow to check people in. And finally, housekeeping woke us up when we didn’t request for any services. It took several attempts to tell her we didn’t require anything. Honestly we stayed out late because we were celebrating our 11th year wedding anniversary and wanted to sleep in. We should have stayed at another hotel and would have gotten complimentary champagne and valet parking. For the lack of amenities this place should not have gotten all other things wrong. The customer service should have been at least decent.

This has been our go to hotel.. not anymore. The air-conditioning system is broken and trys to come on every 5 seconds.( literally) And LOUDLY ! We had a miserable night. Hope this hotel can make a comeback.

Nice with one issue.
Very nice room, bed, lobby, staff. Only negative was HVAC unit was loud, and the fan cycled on for only 10 seconds before shutting off. It would repeat this short cycling issue every few minutes. Anything mechanical can fail but it would be helpful if staff could make a walk through before renting to try and identify these problems. We checked in at 8 pm so didn’t want the hassle of changing rooms.

Noisy AC unit
It was a nice hotel for our purpose. The only complaint is that the air-conditioning system was very loud in the room. It kept us awake, so that we had to turn off the unit during the night. It was mild weather, so it was OK for us. But if you are in the middle of the summer in TX, this could be a problem. Otherwise, the hotel was excellent!

Not up to DoubleTree Standards
We had a deluxe room and the AC didn’t work, the tv was broken, there were white stains on the dresser, and lipstick all over the sink. I talked to front desk and they said they couldn’t move my room and maintenance wasn’t on site for the whole night. They offered me a breakfast voucher but I declined because I wanted to get out ASAP. Just disappointed because I typically love DoubleTree but this has pushed me away. I contacted Hilton and the property manager but so far have only gotten automatic responders in return.

No one at the front desk when got their. Even waited 5min nothing. So did the key on the phone. Got to our room and the ac was not working. Called the front desk 3 times and finally on the 4th time they pick up. The saud they would send maintenance to see what going on with ac. I waited 10min. Had to call front desk again yo ask where maintenance or can we have another room. They said they would check with maintenance to see how long and call me back. They never called back and maintenance finally showed up 10 min later after speaking to second person. He did his thing and said it should be fine noe but it take a while to cool off. We left and haven't been back. Hopefully the room will be cold when we get back.

A room over the bar.
Although my room overlooked the bar, and as such, no view and meant the curtains stayed closed ... I did enjoy the at-the-bar experience, where there was a very capable and friendly bartender, who introduced me to a beer made in Austin very much to my liking; and had some good interesting conversations with patrons. Lest it sounds like I spent all my time at the bar, that was minimal as I was in Austin for business at a location only eight minutes away throughout two days. The hotel is at a complicated spot on the Austin map, but as it turns out is quite navigable. It's owned by a small family-owned business and customer service is a priority. I recommend the DoubleTree in Northwest Austin, even with a room over the bar!

Double Tree Dump in Austin Texas Avoid !!!!!
The hotel was very dated and old. My A/C (Heat) unit turned off & on every 15-20 seconds (NOT MINUTES!!) I checked out a day early due to these issues. I did not get any sleep!!! Also, they list the hotel as "Northwest Arboretum". It is nowhere near the vicinity of the Arboretum!!

I made the reservation through Travelocity, there was a date issue but that was fixed through the Virtual agent. When I arrived at the hotel I couldn’t check in because the hotel rep said it was an issue with the Travelocity credit card, my card was good. He couldn’t check me in, so my friend and I just sat in the checkin area and talked for about 30 min. As I went to the restroom I gave the hotel rep my phone so he communicate with the Virtual Rep, when I returned another rep was showing the first rep how to do something on the computer. As I am walking out, hotel rep says I fixed the issue you can check in now. Well by then I had changed my plans. I spoke with a Travelocity rep to request a refund, she calls the hotel and the hotel guy denied the refund!! THAT IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND BUSINESS WRONG!

Doubletree by Hilton is an abysmal establishment.
i booked a night at the doubletree by hilton and was turned away because they had no rooms available. my booking was GUARANTEED, and im told i need to contact the 3rd party i booked through to get a refund. after taking a step outside to process everything i come back in and she tells me she called hotels.com and that i would be getting a full refund in a couple days. it’s been over a week and still no refund. i am incredibly appalled at the lack of customer service. it’s not my fault there’s a staffing shortage, you should let your customers know that in advance so they aren’t extremely inconvenienced. not to mention they STILL HAD BOOKING AVAILABLE ON YOUR WEBSITE. pathetic excuse for professionalism and i will NEVER go to a doubletree ever again.

Never again, very disappointed
When I first arrived Mo was at the front desk. He told me that my king sized room was given away and I was offered a double, i felt as if I didn't have a choice, I was there for business. I asked Mo if my coworker could have room near me.. Mo said," the computer is going to give me what it gives me". I asked if he could check, he looked off to the side his eyes bugged out without blinking and said, "that's what I am doing now." He said there wasn't, and my coworker would have to stay on a different floor". My first room, phone wasn't working so he gave me another room across from the one I was staying in. Why did he tell me there wasnt another room was available if there was? Then the AC wasn't working properly in that room. Mo called me laughing and said he has another room for me. Guess where? A couple rooms down. So, there was another room that was near my original that my coworker was staying at. My coworker and I are females far from home and would have felt safer staying next to each other. Each time I changed rooms I had sanitized the room and unpacked. I have arthritis and it's difficult for me to keep doing this. My coworker and I were tired after our long trip and his reaction and lack of customer service ruined our experience.I called him and said I understand things happen,but this was a lot for me.My AC wasn't working in this room either, but I physically could not keep moving. He refused compensation. (Ran out of characters to tell the rest) Disappointed

Hotel was pretty decent, the room wasn’t a mess and didn’t have a smell. However there was mold on the shower ceiling, when you would shower all of the water would fall out and trickle down towards the door. You have to pay $8 for parking which is ridiculous. The walls are super thin I could hear my neighbors, sometimes the hall smelled like weed.

Bad front desk manager!!!!
The hotel had some air conditioning issues-you with think this is why I’m upset, but not. The team did a great job with getting this resolved quickly and keeping the guests informed! Bravo. Where I had/have trouble-is with the self proclaimed front desk manager who REFUSED to provide me with a receipt from my incidentals. I have stayed here multi times and visits this area bimonthly. Unfortunately, because of this one exceptionally rude and disrespectful individual, I will not stay again.

Was sent to two different rooms that had broken ac units. The front desk attendant was rude and insinuated that I just “didn’t like the rooms”, when in fact they had issues. The third room she sent me to had someone in it. Had several people complaining about rooms at the same time. What a nightmare! Never stay here!!!

Risky Parking & Daily Parking Fee
This was business travel and the associate who stayed at DoubleTree had their window on their vehicle shattered and the truck next to them was also broken into. No outside cameras, no covered parking, no security and we had to pay a $7 a day parking fee. What exactly does the $7 cover??!! We will not be using this hotel again.

Horrible room air conditioning, no resolution.
The first room did not have air conditioning; a broken compressor. They changed our room and that air conditioner kept shutting off and powering up every 30 seconds. The front desk refused to move us due to being mid-shift change. It was only a 1- night stay and the air conditioner was too loud all night to sleep. I have an audio recording of the sound.

It’s just ok.
It was just a fair type of place to stay. Coffee maker at the lobby wasn’t working and the A/C in the room was somewhat noisy when it turns on. The room was very clean, spacious. It had a small fridge but no microwave. Nothing special to mention about it.

What a big disappointment. Doubletree is typically pretty decent, but this location is terrible. For example: 1) the pool isn’t clean - water is cloudy and there are visible mold spots 2) the tv in our room was super dark and difficult to see 3) they had air conditioning issues throughout - with it being 106 outside this was problematic 4) the toilet paper roll holder was literally hanging off of the wall 5) carpets are visibly dirty and sticky 6) They have roaches! 7) the service is port, at best. They all look tired and act tired. Any request is met with a sigh. Very unconfortabke 8) breakfast is super expensive and is terrible. $15 for cereal and cardboard tasting items, literally 9) we have to pay $7 daily to park right outside in their parking no lot 10) there’s no room service available to bring you towels or anything really should you need anything I’m in still in shock really. I’m not sure why this property is highly rated on here. Maybe the reviews are old?

We stayed for 4 nights, visiting family in Austin. Hotels.com site says parking is free -- it is not. Paying for parking has to be done via a 3rd party app, not charged directly to your room. Room cleaning is not automatic, you must contact the front desk to get your room cleaned. This is not unusual these days, but no one said a word at check-in. We missed the sticker explanation on the lower corner of the bathroom mirror. This must be covered at check-in. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the hotel interior, and staff held a meeting directly under our window at 8am on Monday. They sounded happy, lots of clapping, etc, but....really. This is a nice hotel and these problems can, and should, be fixed.

In over 100° heat, the air conditioner wasn't working correctly, our room was uncomfortably warm! My husband went to the front desk to ask for a fan from maintenance, they said they were out because other people also asked. They also didn't have a room to move us to. Almost $200 for a room and we were miserable.

BAD. Receptionist was not ready to welcome. When we were stand on line while no one was there, he was working on something. Once he was done, he was looking at us and says nothing. So we told him about reservation. After that, he requested card to chip in and explained nothing so we asked him what is for. Then he explained. Furthermore, there were many informations (parking, breakfast, etc). He just gave the paper to read. After we went room, there was DEAD cockroach on the floor. We were just exhausted continuous bad service.. even the bathtub water drainage is not working properly. Seems it was clogged. We might/could be only one that had bad experience. Personally, we wont reserve in the future.

Decent hotel
It’s a decent hotel but not my favorite. The parking wasn’t included in my stay and it took me 15min to make this go right as the app wasn’t working properly. The room was nice but Catherine cleanliness of the hotel could be improved if they paid attention to details. For instance, the floor was sticky in the breakfast area, this should be corrected before your guest arrive. Also mopping oh main area should occur in late morning when all your guest have left as this is a trip hazard. I would recommend this Hotel but some change small change to be made.

Front desk staff left holding the bag.
The check in was super slow. The computers were so slow that there was a line of 5 to 6 parties in line. A second desk person was logging in to help with the line. You could see the panic on his face as his log in took 5 to 10 minutes as the line grew longer. The coffee machine was out of order. You can hardly blame the staff when the organization does not invest in good software and equipment.

Worst hotel stay EVER!!!
I would avoid this hotel if at all possible. First of all they charge for parking($7 / day plus tax). The hotel is not located in a downtown area to justify this fee. This hotel is dated. The AC was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. The shower was terrible. Pulling up the shower button as hard as you could still didn't create decent water pressure. The coffee maker in the room is inside a dresser and it is nearly impossible to get water into the coffee maker without spilling. There is no coffee in the lobby unless you want to pay $3 for hot coffee flavored water. On the last night of our 3 night stay, we heard men working and shouting in the hallway. Our room was flooded. We got no sleep. We heard fans running all night to dry up water damage. When we checked out at 6am with no sleep, no shower....the front desk said they will make an adjustment to our bill. we booked through Hotels.com and filed a claim. The hotel denied any refund at all. I will NEVER stay at a HILTON again...NEVER. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in all my years of business travel. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel.
