Probably a very nice property in it's day. Rooms were very clean, staff very nice. However, the whole place is a little worn and showing it's age. Lot of traffic noise being close to a main street.

The pool was big, inviting and clean. Enjoyed swimming in the pool. The staff was responsive to our needs especially when our key cards stopped working multiple times. Overall, it’s convenient and met our needs.

The staff is welcoming. The rooms are clean and well furnished and equipped but showing age. The only onsite food available is coffee, juice and muffins. The grounds are lovely and the pool is wonderful. We would go back for a short stay.

Price was high for mediocre place. Tub was dirty. Coffee maker in room was difficult to operate. Bathroom was tiny. Easy to hear conversation in next room.

Not a hotel
This is a motel, not a hotel. landscaping and pool area were really nice. Room was very dirty with what looked like blood on the wall and ceiling above sink and our feet were black if we walked across the room floor in barefoot.

Highs and lows - mostly highs
I thought this had a holiday inn vibe with Marriott beds - linens and pillows and mattresses were on point - wifi, pool and deck all awesome - loved the 24hour coffee in the front, parking literally outside my door, tv great - only thing that was dated was the bathroom/shower area in the room.
awesome location not terribly far from the beach or downtown

the ads showed pictures of this wonderful breakfast bar and all the wonderful reviews to go along with it. unfortunately they did not update their website when collins bought the place. there is no breakfast bar that is pictured...they have packaged blueberry muffins..oj...and coffee...big whoop. Thank God there is an Einstein brothers next door and a Blueberry cafe down the street.

The rooms appear semi clean but need a refresh. Rust in the door hinges and tub drain.
The staff wasn’t engaging during any interaction and had to return 3 times because the keys didn’t work (no it wasn’t due to being close to a phone, credit card or anything else).
I’d recommend the property but I don’t think it’s a 3 star.

The first room we were offered was not very clean and the curtains were ripped. We explained our disappointment to one of the senior staff and he assigned us a good room overlooking the pool and gardens. Much better and he was very helpful.

The coffee pot in our room did not work and the toilet ran constantly and was so loud we had to turn the water to it off at night. I told the front desk about these issues and was told someone would come to the room but nothing was done about it.

I love the swimming pool, clean and no rowdy customers, very relaxing. The area is safe as its a retirement community so there were no loud "BOOM BOOM" sounds coming form the cars or rooms.

The hotel is ok the property is tired just like the others say. Things are old and outdated.
The staff keep the place clean, but they need to put money in it. I like housekeeping they where friendly and kept the rooms very nice. It’s a cheap place to lay your head down. The guys at the front desk are very nice and helpful the women where not very helpful. The coffee station could be a bit updated.

Very good value! This was important for an extended family get-together and multiple rooms. Quite pleased with the rooms. Outdoor courtyard and pool was also very good for visiting or relaxing.

rooms were very outdated, the noise from outside very loud rooms had very little sound proofing. called front desk no answer had to make a trip to the lobby and ring the bell multiple times for someone to come out.

This hotel has been recently renovated. Rooms are clean , beds are comfy. They have a microwave and a mini fridge inside. Bathroom wasn't renovated but it's still decent.
The pool area looks nice and water was heated and the landscaping surrounding is beautiful. Every morning they have free fresh coffee, orange juice and muffins at the front desk. It exceded our expectations.

Musty old rooms
Check in unhelpful. Although my husband walks with a cane, we were told the only room was on the second floor, accessed by two flights of steps reached by a zig zag path from the parking and at the far end of a long walkway. No help was offered with luggage. The rooms are dated; the only effort at refreshing was to paint all the furniture black, and the finish is already badly chipped and scarred. The room smelt musty, but it was acceptably clean.
The website shows a pleasant large furnished terrace, alongside the pool, but it has been cleared and the gate locked. The only available facility is the pool itself. Breakfast coffee was offered in the foyer, which could only be reached by circumnavigating the whole complex, as there is no longer a way through the building from the courtyard. Fortunately we were staying only one night, and couldn’t wait to leave.

The pool and gardens and courtyard were so beautiful and peaceful. Great ambiance to property. The rooms were a bit worn and tired. Some hair in bathtub and bathroom floor, a roach on floor, some gnats around the sink. But we really enjoyed the stay overall

Older facility with typical older facility "issues" , our room was clean but bathroom door wouldn't close properly, toilet was in need of a tune up but worked, shower water pressure was good however the shower curtain wouldn't stay closed and the floor kept getting wet. Walls were a little thin and screaming child noise from other rooms was a little bothersome, pricing for the area was average but due to the older nature of the facility, I would probably give it a 7 out of a 10

Was moved three times due to “sugar ants” infesting the first two rooms. When I called the desk they said they had to send a maintenance person to see if there actually was ants…he sprayed both times and left all the dead ants all over; management refused to send housekeeping “because they’re short staffed”. So we were moved again. Even though that was all gross; they were accommodating and kind during the ordeal.

Only thing I didn't like, is the stairs... you have to carry your on sc upstairs 🙄... besides that its a good place to stay ... nex times I'll ask for first floor... it was ok for my 3 nights in...

Humble but beautiful
I would definitely stay here again but admittedly the room itself was a little run down. Some things fell apart or didn’t work. But, the landscaping was incredibly beautiful and the pool was beautiful as well. The grounds were so relaxing and welcoming I would come back just for that.

very small bathroom; beds (matresses are too high for an older person; the privacy curtains left about five inches opening in the center when closed; the door has over one inch opening at the bottom that may allow pests and other creatures to enter the room; one night the next room guest was talking loud on the phone for a long time which made it very difficult to relax. Otherwise

Toilet Upgrade Needed
The hotel was fine but in need of an upgrade in the guestroom bathroom. The toilet was from a long time ago and took forever to refill. Haven't seen a toilet like this since I was a kid and I am getting up there.

Good for a one night stay.
I booked a courtyard view and when we arrived the girl said it didn't show that on reservation. She changed room to courtyard view but said they were pretty booked but the parking lot was pretty empty the whole time. The pool was freezing and there was hair on the walls and tub in the bathroom. Otherwise the beds were comfortable, coffee in lobby was nice and when the tv didn't work someone came up right away. It turned out it wasn't plugged in behind the desk. For one night it was a good stay but would not stay more than that.

Perfect location for a simple getaway
Collins Hotel was ideal for a couples getaway. The pool was nice. The rooms were basic in style but clean & lots of amenities. Many restaurants were nearby.

Not sure why would this property be marked as 3.5 stars... Quite bad for that level:
- A bit dirty
