There were hidden parking fees, which made us extremely upset. Also, we got to know the maintenance man, because he had to come up repeatedly. He fixed a light and had to work on our heat--which still was a little strange-- and we didn't have hot water the first few days. He said to let it run for up to 15 minutes if need be for it to get warmed up, since it had to come down 8 floors from the boiler room, and most of the rooms higher up weren't occupied so the water was getting cold up there.

The hotel was in a great location for my family’s visit to DC. I wish I would have known about the indoor pool not being open. However,we will stay again when we visit DC in the summer.

The shower water never got warmer than lukewarm, the pool was closed until May and there wasn't any ice in the ice machine on our floor.

The staff were attentive and helpful, which is good because I had several issues that needed addressing during my stay. I was originally given a two queen room when I booked a single king, but that was quickly resolved. My new room didn't have a functioning plug in the bathtub (it was broken off and sitting to the side), which I didn't even bother bringing to the staff's attention, because I didn't feel like changing rooms again. I had to call about how to operate the climate control, and the maintenance staff member who helped me was very nice. Getting into and out of the hotel parking lot was hard to figure out at first. The Netflix and YouTube apps on the TV signed me out every day of my stay, which has not been an issue for me at other hotels.

Best Alexandria Stay
We love Alexandria and visit often. This stay was by far the best! It was our 50th wedding anniversary and we came to see the fireworks. The concierge - Ahmed was especially kind and helpful!

We spent 5 days and it was by far the most friendly hotel we've stayed at. And we've been traveling all over the world for 53 years. The facility is very clean albeit a little long in the tooth. An example: when we arrived the front desk didn't have water for us. So they comped us a meal! Best customer service ever! We'll be back!

If not for front desk (lisa) id rate a 2, but 1st we reserved a king rm to get upstairs and its a double, we call downstairs and theysay ill call u back on a few. Um we just drove 4 hrs im tired and qant refresh. No call back after 15min, so i call back and the person says ok we're changing your room im like my wife and i both had fallen asleep do t worrry now but whats the difference in price comp us something. Lisa did but on my way down i move a chair in the room to find dirty socks. Take a picture and show to lisa to ask" do u think someone really cleaned "? So lisa comps parking. Mind u all of thia is n the 1st hour and half. So i go redeem the comp dinner tickets and the restaurant manager wont clearly explain whats included with voucher, had to get lisa to go over in his presence. Then there was an issue at breakfast next day, all really about workers just doing enough or less. Except lisa who was great.
Property located in good place, comfortable bed, breakfast and dinner was tasty. Charge for on-site parking was a surprise thank god we got comped

Hotel is in a great location, very clean, reception desk staff was very good. Room was clean. Bathrooms are a little tight and shower/bath was having drainage issues. Also a leak under the bathroom sink

I am an IHG member and unfortunately I wasnt able to keep my reservation at this property due to Covid. Due to the severity of my symptoms I wasnt able to call and cancel in time to avoid having to pay the price of my stay. This property showed no compassion whatso ever and refused to issue refund.

shady business. front desk staff was very rude and unwelcoming. our room smelled like sewage and the toilet didn’t flush. we called twice to have it fixed and or switch rooms, they did send up a maintenance man but it did not resolve the problem. the request to switch a room was blown off. we ended up needed to leave that night anyway, went to check out 2 hours after we checked in. they refused to check me out. the following morning there was an additional charge on my card. i had to call again to have them check me out and remove the charges. i attempted to get a refund and they said no emergency is important enough to refund and they denied us ever calling for help. I am not surprised after the way we were treated there. I don’t normally have to stay in hotels, but the few times I have traveled around this was by far the worst experience. Hope you don’t need help or have any changes to your itinerary if you choose to stay here!!

I liked the area itself. Very convenient. AMC and shops are across the street. 3min walk, literally. We have been traveling back and forth for the last 3years to this property. Its cost effective and clean. Unfortunately, they now want to nickel and dime you to death! You now have to pay for pets-$35 a night, parking-$15 a night and there is no free breakfast. For 2 people it cost me $40 with tip-per day! I'm disappointed in this hotel. For the extra money I might as well go to a better hotel with free breakfast. Expedia (at the time) did not have the updates for all the fees. Got to the hotel and they want me to spend an extra $90 a day... No thanks!

Small things matters cleanliness should be priority but I was disappointed and cold water in the bathroom in low temperature weather. I was so disappointed and didn't like my stay here. Even though we complained no one showed up. So sorry but needs a lot improvement at this property. I will never book a room in Holiday inn. My experience was really bad

This hotel, is super close to the metro and was our biggest seller! We had a huge conference in DC, which was easily accessible via the yellow line of the metro. Super friendly staff, they were really amazing and always helpful. Plus taking the yellow line also takes you straight to the airport! It's only a few stops away from the hotel, which is how we came and went. We had a later flight than our hotel checkout and they kept an eye on our luggage until we came back to pick it up before leaving to the airport.

It was clean and comfortable. The TV remote was missing, and they sent it up immediately, and were so polite.
Dove Soaps and lotion was great. Got checked in quickly, and able to make the train this morning with plenty of time.

You get what you pay for!
Nice hotel location, room not so great. The toilet didn’t work well. You flush and the tank lids pops up. Tv didn’t work well either. Overall, I would expect things such as toilet to work as expected. Shower water pressure was also not great.

Great value and fine rooms. Common areas around elevators were not clean. Otherwise I liked the hotel and I am very familiar with DC area midrange hotels. It is a block from metro and two blocks from Wegmans grocery store as well as Ted’s Buffalo Grille. For business, this is a fine place—not my favorite but perfectly fine.

The staff was very nice and I liked the opportunity of a small gym in the facility. The hotel is well accessible from the metro and highway, and there is a bunch of dining opportunities in the neighborhood. On the downside, wi-fi was rather slow in my room and the shower water wasn't hot.

I enjoyed having a restaurant and bar on site, along with convenient booths for snacks in the lobby. My only dislike was putting up my “do not disturb” placard but the maids still trying to come into my room a few times while I’m sleeping.

I like the location of this property. The rooms are very comfortable, the Internet worked well and the breakfast was tasty and fresh. It isn't free, but I actually prefer a cooked-to-order meal. The parking at the hotel is great (glad it's free) and there are many interested restaurants and shops (including a Wegman's!) within walking distance of the hotel.. I will stay at this property again, if I'm coming back to the area.

Clean hotel. Front desk ladies were polite, helpful, and professional. Clean parking area that is well lit. Nice 3'-8' deep pool complete with awesome lifeguard Brian til Oct 1! Bistro restaurant was delightful for dinner - ribeye entree was perfection. 😋
Needs a better sign for one of the two street entrances as it is tricky. Needs a better entrance as it is in the back of the building, not the "front". There is a charge of $15 for parking overnight. No free breakfast - pay for breakfast - well worth it - not your hotel buffet!!

Staff, whether at desk, restaurant or other serviced, were consistently friendly and helpful.
The only downsides were to the physical facility: all tubs need grabbars and it may be time to change carpeting.

Didnt get checked in until 11:30pm. the desk clerk, Amed, was wonderful and helpful. Recognized how very tired we were and walked us through check in without rushing. The room was sonderfcomfirtable & i slept straight through from 12 - 7:30. I would definitely stay again.

Overpriced old hotel
Firstly, the parking lot entrance at the intersection is a death trap. It was like playing suicide every time we try to leave the hotel. You definitely can’t walk across the street with kids. Everything in our room was falling apart. The wallpaper was bubbling up on the wall that looked like a big crack coming down from the ceiling. The wood veneer of mirror was peeling from all the moisture in the bathroom. Just the general condition of everything was gross. Like the tried to remodel by slapping new wallpaper and carpet over falling apart walls and floors. But the water pressure in the shower was great.

I liked the property itself, the staff is great and very accommodating
My only thought I’d the actual location if the hotel, within a clover-leaf arrangement of streets on a very busy highway. Otherwise, the proximity to Wegmend and the Carlyle Town campus of businesses is fantastic as is proximity to a Metro station.

Super outdated, only nice part is lobby and that isn’t even that nice. Doesn’t look like pictures at all. Whole hotel is super hot too, especially the room. Have to pay for parking and parking lot is annoying to get out of. Bought a coke from the lobby and it was out of date, don’t buy a microwave meal either from them because they don’t have any utensils in stock. Ice machine didn’t even work

Staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The property is convenient to the metro. However, in walking from the metro with a heavy roller suitcase, it was a bit difficult to find and access the front lobby on the other side of the hotel without a connected sidewalk.
I do recommend this hotel. While somewhat dated, the location is convenient and I had a pleasant stay.
