We had a great stay. The innkeeper is lovely and very attentive to your needs. The included breakfast is excellent! And, the dining area is beautiful and cozy. The room was clean and well appointed. The inn is close to UVA Health Center and the Charlottesville Mall - both are walkable. Would stay here again.

Historic inn near, The Corner, in Charlottesville close to UVA. Vanessa, the inn’s hostess, was equally welcoming, charming, and helpful. Stayed in Jefferson Suite which was rustic, yet beautiful and luxurious. The well appointed suite fronts Main Street, with some street noise during day, but quiets down considerably during sleep hours. Excellent breakfast at Farm Bell restaurant-highly recommended…

It’s definitely old with peeling paint and could use some new carpets. Television wasn’t working and no assistance was available. I feel I should have been compensated in some way.
It would be nice to have coffee/ tea maker in room and an ice machine available.
Bed was comfortable and manager helped with our luggage. Breakfast was okay nothing special but waitress was great!

This place is so charming and beautiful! Vanessa, the inn keeper is thoughtful and caring. She took the initiative and reserved me a table for breakfast at the restaurant on site. She walked me to my room and gave me a warm welcome.

This property is so unique, close to everything. Lots of coffee shops n parks in walkable distance. Breakfast is included in a wonderful attached restaurant. Also, the caretaker of property greets you upon arrival and ensures all needs are met during your stay.

I stayed one night for business. The staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to welcome me and facilitate my stay. The bed was a dream, so comfortable. The bathroom was a bit tight and might be a little difficult for a larger person to maneuver around the door. The sink was also half covered by the shelf above it. Really nice bath products! Bathroom floor could use a deep clean, but sink, toilet, and shower, were very clean. As mentioned on the website, this room (the Madison room), is directly up the stairs from the restaurant, so if you're a light sleeper, it could be hard to sleep in after 8am. Breakfast was ok, but the service was good. The amount of real maple syrup (for an extra charge) with my waffle was laughable. I actually laughed when I saw it. Very convenient to UVA hospital and UVA campus (grounds). Included garage parking is a bonus.

Adorable boutique hotel in historic brick house. Huge comfy bed with nice linens, renovated bathroom, good air conditioning. Convenient parking and delicious breakfast at the on site restaurant. Staff couldn’t be kinder. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend the Dinsmore Inn. The host was wonderful (excellent communication) and the room was lovely and super comfortable. Better than a BNB. Great location and easy access to visit wineries and fabulous restaurants. We loved the history of the Inn and they’ve done a great job honoring the history and yet adding appropriate modern conveniences and appeal. Breakfast was at their sister restaurant next door and was delicious, beautiful and featured great service. Housekeeping was great with super fast service. If you’re headed to Charlottesville, stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Back in time at the Dinsmore Inn
The Dinsmore Inn was a step back in time to the days of Thomas Jefferson. It is old and shows the two centuries of use, but it's quaint and welcoming. Located between and within walking distance of UVA and the Historic Downtown Charlottesville Mall, it was a perfect location. Free parking and wonderful meals were quite the bonus.

Good but needs improvement
This was my second stay. While good, it wasn’t as good as my first visit. TV was out for the weekend - we had planned to watch the British Open (no discount offered). Tub water was lukewarm, not hot. Patio - table top was rusted and the floor needed painting. The bathroom lights, shower lights, and fan should have separate switches - not all wired into one switch. Extra crispy bacon was rubbery and hard to chew - I think the bacon was cooked on a sheet and then cooked again in a microwave to fill my request. Stairway and hallway rugs could use a good shampooing. Customer service was great as usual - I just think management needs to focus on the little things that improve the customers’ experience.

Many, Many Pros / One Con
The 'period' feel of this historic structure, and the comfort were excellent. The breakfast was beyond unreal - extraordinary!! My one constructive criticism would be this: when I am tired and check into a premium room, and perhaps I want to access the news -TV streaming should be simple and quick. Turn on; press the channel number; and there is the programing, or the Guide. In the absence of that, as a poor alternative, at least printed instructions on how to navigate a screenful of unfamiliar apps, in order to get to core programing.

Lovely Historic Inn
The Dinsmore is centrally located in the heart of Charlottesville within walking distance to everything. It is a beautifully appointed Inn, the room was very nicely decorated, linens and bed were a dream. Veda is a treasure and took care of all our needs and was also very helpful in reservations and dining suggestions. She keeps the Inn ticking and is a lot of fun.

This is an utterly charming property, centrally located in a charming city. Everything about our stay was terrific. The managing innkeeper (not sure that she wants her name published, so I’ll just identify her by her position) was very communicative and made everything easy. The included breakfast was out of this world. We look forward to a change to stay there again!

No consideration when illness struck
Zero cooperation when Covid symptoms necessitated postponing the trip. Thought I was being conscientious and would have been very happy with a percentage credit toward the rescheduled trip. I travel to Charlottesville two to three times a year with my team and will recommend alternative accommodations .. so shortsighted of management really..

It’s a charmingly refurbished small hotel with good-sized rooms. The proprietor graciously accommodated our early check-in and other requests during our stay. The location was perfect for quick access to events on Grounds and downtown. And don’t miss the complementary breakfast next door - best brunch we’ve had in some time!

The Dinsmore is in a great location and had all the amenities we needed for our long weekend in Charlottesville. Veda was very nice and greeted us upon arrival-she also had great dinner recommendations. The Inn was clean and even though there were other guests and a restaurant downstairs it was also quiet. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the servers were all prompt and polite. Check in and check out were a breeze and parking was conveniently location in a covered garage. Would stay here again without a doubt and hope to be back one day!

This beautiful B&B boutique inn is perfectly located along Main Street in Charlottesville, VA. the history of the property is prominently posted and shared with guests. The Farm Bell Kitchen that operates from 8-2 daily has an extensive menu for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is included daily during your stay. Parking is conveniently located and also included with your stay.

Vena the innkeeper greeted us like old friends. The rooms are very spacious with lovely high ceilings and absolutely dreamy beds. The bathroom was up to date and included a beautiful claw foot tub. Covered parking is included. And the breakfast! Might be the Best included hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Anything off the menu is included, beautifully prepared far to table ingredients. All this in a fantastic location right next to UVA and the hospital. Truly loved our stay and will definitely be back!

The Dinsmore is such a lovely historic building that has been beautifully and tastefully updated! We found our room to be both elegant and comfortable. Our host, Vida, was so welcoming and accommodating! We were driving from some distance and needed a late check-in. Vida met us at 11 p.m. to get us settled comfortably in our room! She had everything we could possibly want, including bottled water, a bottle of wine, fresh robes, and a vast array of Molton-Brown toiletries. The vintage cast iron bathtub was a wonderful treat! In the morning, we had the most delicious breakfast in the front parlor. As guests, we were invited to order whatever we liked from Farm Bell Kitchen’s menu. It was a delicious meal in an unique setting! We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Greeted by the innkeeper immediately upon arrival was courteous and professional . Our room was spacious and very comfortable . I especially loved our bathroom which had a lovely soaking tub. Breakfast in the morning was our favorite . Fresh, abundant and delicious . Our server, Hunter was very friendly and helpful! We will return!

Elegant room with classic and modern charm. Loved that it was super convenient to the corner and university. The breakfast at the "Farm Bell Kitchen" was delicious and it was complimentary. And the personal touches were appreciated (i.e. Veda reaching out to us prior to arrival to make sure that she was ready to greet us on arrival and provide us with our garage access, fresh flowers in the room, etc). Will definitely stay again next time we come into town.

Veda is a wonderful hostess / manager. She stayed after hours to welcome us and showered kudos on our daughter who is starting med school at UVA.
The only hiccup was that this particular room has a small shower stall and no vanity. I'm a clean freak and had no worries about using the floor space under the sink for our toiletries.
Wonderful experience, we'll come again :D

The Dinsmore Inn Is A Must!
The Dinsmore is phenomenal. It is historic, quaint, charming, clean, and close to everything. The rooms are all perfectly appointed with complementary period pieces, along with updated bathrooms, wifi, very comfortable beds and pillows, elegant soaps, shampoos, and other toiletries, and complementary breakfast in the Inn's amazing main floor restaurant. You won't find a nicer breakfast menu. I had breakfast there 3 mornings and felt spoiled each time as the food and staff were exceptional. Parking is included and is right next door...within minutes from the front door of the Inn. Veda, the Managing Innkeeper, and her sweet pup, Wrigley, met me outside right when I pulled up. They were both as sweet as can be. Veda was as gracious, professional, and accommodating as you could ever hope for when staying at an inn, or anyplace. She and Wrigley made my stay so pleasant. The housekeeping staff was also as pleasant as can be. If I am traveling through Charlottesville again, I will definitely stay at The Dinsmore. You will be very happy with your choice!

Unplug and unwind
It was an amazing Bed and Breakfast. Not a lot of amenities - if you are looking for a mini fridge or in room phone, not your place. But, it was an incredibly comfortable room right next to UVA and close to the vineyards and the pedestrian mall. The innkeeper, Veda, was courteous and thoughtful, anticipating needs, answering questions, just spot on. In addition, the complementary breakfast at the Farm Bell Kitchen each morning was delicious, and again, Veda set up all the reservations for us. This was a perfect spot for a getaway with my wife, allowing us both to unplug and to relax.

Immediately felt catered as soon as we walked into the inn. We were greeted by the innkeeper, who lived onsite and was a very interesting woman, and her dog. The inn has a very charming rustic feel, but the rooms have been modernized with central a/c and a roku tv. The tv has Netflix that works without requiring a personal login, which is the first time I've seen that. Each morning my wife and i had breakfast in the inn restaurant, which is a very fancy destination for the city. Breakfast was amazing both days. Parking was free and in Marriotts private indoor garage, which is directly behind the inn. Overall, it was the perfect relaxing staycation we were looking for and would absolutely go back.

The manager greeted us with joy..and escorted us to our room at the Inn..she was full of knowledge about restaurants, the campus at UVA, distances to various historic sights. The breakfasts were creative. The staff upbeat and responsive. Just a wonderful stay.

Love Dinsmore Boutique Inn
One word Fabulous! The Dinsmore is a wonderful place to stay. The Inn has all the “old world charm” with new conveniences. The inn keeper Veda was incredibly accommodating and helpful.
Our room was very nice and clean. The bed was ultra comfy with luxurious bedding. Our bathroom had a deep soak tub and a great shower.
The 5 star breakfast was delicious. I would recommend the Ofelia Eggs Benedict.
We will definitely stay there again!

The Inn is in a lovely historic home right near the University campus. Our hostess, Veda, was so welcoming, helpful and attentive, and we loved her adorable and sweet dog Wrigley. The breakfasts both mornings were outstanding, with great coffee and lots of choices on the menu. Our room was comfortable with a nice bathroom, not huge but big enough. I would recommend the Dinsmore to anyone visiting Charlottesville.
