HOT and Dry
Room itself was great (lake view, 2 bathrooms) but thermostat would not drop below 78 degrees no matter how low we tried to set it so we were sweating. Pool/hot tubs were closed which didn’t show on the booking except TINY print at the very bottom of the page. The top of the page with the amenities still listed that they had both. VERY disappointing as we would not have stayed here knowing those were closed. Some type of allergen in the room as I sneezed about one hundred times and was fine upon checkout. We’ve been staying here the past five years and were super disappointed by this year’s stay.

Very disappointed
There was a $75 hold that wasnt mentioned anywhere. Also the Hilton parking garage isnt included nor is wifi. No discount and the pool was out of use.

The food at Kitty Osheas is not good. The "upgraded" room was not clean and didnt have so much as a laundry bag or extra blankets or pullows.

Why I stay.
Stayed @ this particular Hilton many times. Love the history, location, and familiarity. A bit pricey, but I accept it. Go out the back door, walk across the street to Buddy Guy's for some BLUES LISTENING. For other venues a 5- 10 block walk. If you want to attend the annual blues fest...it's the place to stay.

The staff at the Chicago Hilton were wonderful! However, we were traveling with our 2 dogs and were put in the worst room!! Which we paid an extra$100 for. It was the dirtiest, mossy grungy small room!

User unfriendly!!
The front desk clerk was extremely rude! I bought this stay as a gift for my son and daughter in law and even though I mentioned that in my booking, I wasn’t told that his name had to be listed, so he wasn’t allowed to check in, yet I was charged for the room!! I tried to find a phone number to call at Hotels.com and just kept getting a bot in the chat who wasn’t able to help. I called the clerk myself and explained the situation and he continued to get rude with me and wouldn’t help correct the situation, but yet charged me for a room that they couldn’t use. I’ll never use this site again!

Loved the location and the building. The restaurants were closed, the room had no soap or linens enough for two people. It is obvious they are having a staffing issue like most businesses now. Not enough people to adequately clean and stock rooms or keep restaurants open. Still, we loved the old hotel and the location is excellent.

Hotel is beautiful. Had some large cobwebs on ceiling room 602. Mattress was not comfortable and a barely warm shower at 530 am. Pool was closed which was main amenity we wanted. I did not see it posted when I booked in October that is was closed. Wait staff at the Starbucks 12/2 evening was very rude to me and I found out also made an inappropriate comment to my daughters friend.

The parking system was excellent.

when checking in, I was informed that a $25 dollar charge would AUTOMATICALLY be added to my bill. I was informed that I'd be given a $25 dollar coupon to spend at the hotel. I won't be using Hilton for future trips because of this transparent gimmick to rip off customers -

Overall good stay. I don't like the hidden fees. They try to charge for WiFi. Then also automatically charge $25 per night that you have to spend in their restaurants (I didn't find the food that good).

Hilton Chicago - Hot Chocolate Race
Room was small. No couch. Then there was an automatic $25 add on to bill that wasn't known when reserving room. Will not stay at this hotel again unless only hotel available on next trip to Chicago. Love the city but not the cost and nickel and diming everywhere you go.

Three stars at best
This is an unusual room configuration with two queen beds and two baths and not much else. The office chair was completely worn and cracked (it was replaced immediately after we reported it). There was no housekeeping service during our stay. We were only informed at checkout that housekeeping is an “opt in” option. The linens were clean, the beds were comfortable, the room is across the hall from a utility door used by staff who kept loudly banging it throughout the night. The lobby coffee shop/convenience store is very busy and understaffed. The best thing about this hotel is its location. However, it is grossly overpriced for the amenities and services provided.

Beautiful hotel. Stayed here because we went to an NFL game. Great location and Walkable to everywhere. Soldier Field, Navy Pier, Riverwalk. Was easy to get a train to anywhere we wanted to go that wasn't walkable such as the airport and Wrigley Field. The Pub inside has good food and drinks and was always lively. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Difficult to get around. A lot of walking. Elevators were down when we were leaving. Had to catch a flight. Couldn’t come down 12 flights of steps with all the bags. Had to pay a fee for early check in which was actually 10 min early and it took us that long to get to room.

I asked the front desk if I could retrieve house cleaning in my room around 8:00 am yesterday. Was told the cleaning staff doesn’t get in until 11am and he would notify them of my request. Came back to my room around 9:30 pm to find that my room wasn’t touched at all.

Missing cup and curdled milk in our coffee maker. Someone’s laptop charger still plugged in. Lamp difficult to turn on and off. $25 fee and $6.50 bottles of soda in the lobby shop. Expect better out of Hilton, especially at these prices.

The paint was pealing from the ceiling in the bathroom and the buffet was not worth the hefty price - it should have been included in the room price. The staff was super friendly and helpful but the price was not reflected in the amenities.

The hotel is in walking distance of the shedd aquarium, the planetarium, and field museum. Very convenient. Lots of elevators and staff members present. The pool/fitness attendant was something I’ve never seen before and that was nice to see! Lots of places to eat along the road.

Stay was great. Only issue is that the room service menu, which is all electronic via tablet or QR code, wasnt available. Tablet didnt work, and website did not show any of the menu items. So we were stuck getting snacks and drinks from the kiosk downstairs, which was overpriced and did not offer the best food. Im sure it runs better earlier in the day, but events end late and people eat and drink after them. Other than that, it is a great hotel with all the amenities you would expect.

I liked the location. I Was disappointed with the fact that the room did not come with anyrhing. No water, no drink or refreshment options. There was also no microwave oven. Things that even a Motel 6 offeres. Very disappointed considering the money that I invested.

Check in was fast considering it was really busy. On the second night I noticed knats flying above the beds. They were coming from the window. Called down and asked to switch rooms. I was in a new room within 20 minutes. They didn’t even hesitate to switch my room.

The valet dude was Rude & demanding for me to give him my car keys came up to me so up close and rude don’t remember quite his name but he was old and Caucasian and not very well explanatory felt quite unsafe and caught off guard at the moment but the rest was good .

Beautiful hotel, double bathrooms was a plus. The only issue I had was when a piece from one of the chandeliers fell maybe an inch in front of me one morning, and the front man didn’t acknowledge me at all. It was only other guests who said anything. He merely came over, picked up the piece, and called maintenance.

The Chicago Hilton is overall a great hotel for your stay in downtown Chicago. The only negative I have is that it is in desperate need of updating, especially with sound proof windows! Every night we were awaken to the sound of muscle cars and motor cycles burning rubber, annoying drivers blowing their horns, etc. We were on the 11th floor and the sounds penetrated even at that height!

We really liked the history of the building and how easy it was to get around. Really liked the self-park parkade, and there was no stress about parking downtown. There is a great Irish pub in the hotel and there was a restaurant to go have a sit down breakfast.

When we first arrived the debit/credit card reader was down. Another male in the lobby was yelling at stafff. That should of been indication to book somewhere else.
We booked for a king room. They gave us a double because they said they were “out”. The A/C in the room didn’t work. Called down many times no one at the front desk ever answered the phone. There was an event going on, we could hear the music all night all the way on the 6th floor.
Not a great experience. Probably will never return.

We booked and payed more for a room with a "Lake View". You could see the lake IF you looked out one window at a certain angle. Not exactly what we were looking for.

The hotel was nice, great amenities. The room was comfy cozy. The area around the hilton chicago was enjoyable as there were some close fooderies in walkable distance. Rideshare apps food apps worked really well with the hotel as well!

Restaurants in hotel are extremely expensive. For example, the breakfast buffet for two people is $74 USD which is a bit ridiculous. Accommodations are clean and staff are friendly and helpful
