Best hotel in downtown LYH
Boutique-like vibe, very clean room, with a comfortable bed. The rooms are quiet and are nicely appointed. The staff members are friendly and helpful. We’ve stayed in other area hotels, including other ones downtown. The Virginian remains our favorite.

This was one of if not the cleanest and most beautiful rooms I have ever stayed in. Downtown historic Lynchburg and The Virginian is amazingly beautiful! The staff consistently provides answers to all questions, the valet service was impeccable and every person we can into contact with was extreme kind and courteous!

Amazing staff, they went out of their way to be friendly and helpful…especially the valet service. Those guys were unbelievable! Gave lots of great suggestions about things to do. Room was stunning and very comfortable. The hotel is at the heart of downtown so everything is extremely walkable for sightseeing!

that the Acedemy Theater and resturants and the museum were in walking distance . I didnt like that the roof top was only if you wanted to have dinner we had just stopped and eaten our dinner before we arrived at the hotel , so didnt need dinner or drinks at that time. the resurant was closed by the time we got out of the theater would have been nice able to have just sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather and take in the city view.

We love the Virginian and make a point to stay there when passing thru Virginia. We’ve stayed there 4 times, and it never disappoints. It is even a notch above some of the other Hilton Curio Collection Hotels. It’s clean, updated, rooms are large, staff is friendly and on point. The rooftop Skyline restaurant is a nice feature too. And we find the room rates reasonable too. Great find!

This is a 5 star property with a 4 star rating only because the restaurant wouldn’t serve us after being told by front desk that they would. Petty to ding, but reflects how the restaurant host treated us. Otherwise, awesome property: spacious, luxurious rooms. Great night’s sleep.

Beautiful hotel!
Friendly staff, great service and amenities! We arrived early and were able to drop our bags in their check room, and get parking arranged before our room was ready. We called and they let us m own they could check us in when the room was cleaned, so we returned and all went smoothly. Beautiful room, and so convenient to have the rooftop restaurant and breakfast/brunch in the lobby. The little store directly across the street was great, and the valets always friendly. They brought a luggage cart up to us for check out. The security was excellent, using our room key for the levator made us feel safe. We were able to walk the entire downtown, check out the shops and restaurants and still be close to hotel for a break. Highly recommend!

Lacks attention to detail but cozy
3 out of 5 stars. The beds were comfortable and the linen was plush! However, the room was very dark and had limited natural light. The light switch for the bathroom panel was cracked and missing a piece. The toilet paper holder was not securely attached to the wall and would fall over dumping the paper on the floor. attention to detail was lacking.

Amazing stay!
Stayed in Lynchburg for a couple of days, hotel was very elegant and classy! Very clean and well-decorated. Our room was spacious and felt very luxurious! Enjoyed dinner at the Skyline Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. Connor, the valet was very friendly and personable, my husband enjoyed talking with him and his outstanding service. Would recommend The Virginian Hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing stay and plant to visit again in the future.

The Curio is a fabulous facility. From the valet upon arriving to every person that worked there was great. They definitely have a southern charm and warmth to them and the facility is beautiful. Everything is meticulously decorated, clean and maintained. Our room was very spacious and finely appointed with one of the nicest shower and separate soaking tub that we have encountered. I'm not a Starbucks fan, wife is, but they had an omelette station and the best breakfast biscuit I have had, delicious. Also, the restaurant on the top of the building, that has great views, had fabulous food. I don't get burgers very often but it was delicious and my wife's Ahi tuna was extremely well prepared and spiced. I couldn't recommend this facility any higher, it was a great experience. Will absolutely return.

Nice hotel. Room clean . Bed comfortable. House keeping did good job. A pleasant reception on check in. The valet parking guys were good. Helped what information about the area. William and Henry was excellent restaurant for Dinner. Room 521 view was blocked by a brick wall. I would stay at this hotel again.

Was going to park on street, was told that we could use the hotel parking lot for free for one night. Next day a charge was on my c/c. Told by front desk there is a charge, then taxes etc and that Expedia also got a cut. Told that we were told free and she said all check in people know there is a charge. Would not remove.

Upon arrival valet very friendly as were front desk. However the trash can in the room had not been emptied and the tv did not work. We were told to unplug it and it would restart. Contacted the front desk to ask for it to be fixed and 2 hours later after returning from dinner it was not. The plug in the bath tub, that you pay extra for in a room with a bath tub, was broken. It took an hour to get the tv issue solved, the trash emptied and the tub repaired. It was well into the evening at this point. After a long day of travel this was a bit irritating. It was nasty to find someone else’s dirty tissues, used water bottles and other sanitary matter in the room. No compensation was taken off the room rate for the inconvenience.

Great stay
Overall stay was outstanding. The only downfall was the suite heating system could not accommodate the size of the suite. A small heater was pre placed before our arrival.

Great looking hotel and staff. Unfortunately most businesses were closed on Monday and or Tuesday. Room key will not work accessing the bar on the roof-top unless it was opened for business.

Wonderful stay!

Room was 58 degrees when we checked in and 68 the next day…three people tried to fix and we froze!!! Virginian ended up comping our room. What a shame…great staff.

The room's carpeting was bunched the fabric on the bench in front of the bed was stained. No creamer or sugar for coffee in the room, the shower had two containers marked shampoo and one for conditioner.
I guess one container was suppose to be shower gel.
Checking out, there was no attendant at the desk and had to go to the café to ask if there was someone that could help me. I had valet parked and there was not valet attendant present. The desk attendant finally came back to the desk and proceeded to tell me that she could not drive large vehicles but did retrieve my vehicle. The hotel seemed to be understaffed. Not happy with my stay.

It is the only hotel I stay at in Lynchburg. It’s a high end feel, the interior is beautiful and the location is right in the middle of the downtown charm. Parking is easy, price is affordable, it is walkable to everything you could need downtown - shops, restaurants, convenience - and the staff is always kind and accommodating. The hotel is a big part of my stay when I visit and is not just lodging but a little getaway in itself.

Our dinner at the bar in the downstairs restaurant was sheer perfection from the bartender to the service he provided to the runners who brought our courses to the utterly delicious meal itself. My husband and I were on our last dinner after a 5400 mile truck trip to Arizona and back to Mt Vernon and this was truly the best dinner of all. Be proud of your very professional staff led by Jamie(?) throughout the experience.

Wedding Weekend in Lynchburg
We stayed for our daughter's wedding over Labor Day weekend. The Virginian is a beautiful, historic hotel with every amenity that a guest would need. The reception took place in the private room of the William and Henry Steakhouse located in the lower level of the hotel. Everything was amazing! Thank you for making it such a memorable experience!

Highly recommend! The rooftop restaurant was amazing. Suggest making a reservation as they were extremely busy. Only complaint was the breakfast set up at the Starbucks shop. Forgot my order and then we weren’t given our food. Just wasn’t well run or organized.

The Virginian was beautiful. We have stayed at a lot of historic properties, and this one was among the mist well done. Because of its location and heritage, there are events often going on in the area, so be prepared for a well dressed crowd in the lobby in the evening on weekends! Great place. Highly recommend.

Beautifully redone with a 1920s feel. Love the high ceilings and the art deco. You get a very peaceful feeling staying at this hotel. It’s within walking distance of amenities if but you want to stay on site you could eat at one of three great restaurants.

This hotel was for a one night stay while graduating. My husband and I were able to easily walk to dinner. We played chess in the library area. We had a lovely room. This is a very nice hotel in comparison to others in the area.
