Great Stay!

Great stay, wonderful staff, noisy train nearby.
I really enjoyed the stay here. From the outside it doesn’t look too attractive, but inside is very nice, comfortable, clean, updated, and smelled good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pretty much what you’d expect from a Marriott property.
Room was clean and everything seemed to be in new condition. The bed and linens were very comfortable.
The only thing that I wasn’t expecting was the sound of the train passing by every 10 minutes or so. If you’re a light sleeper I would not recommend staying here. The train tracks are directly next to this hotel. It rumbles the room.

Nice quiet hotel
Staff was friendly, facility was very clean and quiet, and continental breakfast was amazing, just to see hotel that still serve hot food like eggs, sausage and oatmeal, not just cold cereal like the other places. The only issue I had was with parking, many of the other visitors felt the need to take up two parking spots, something should be done about that as well as the parking lines. Besides that, very nice place to stay, I would go here again.

Came for salem & stayed the night. Great job on keeping everything cleaned, room wise as well as property. Breakfast was a big plus as well. Front desk was very friendly. Will stay again. Thanks guys!

The hotel advertised free local.shuttle, there was not a shuttle. We entered the room. And there was a noise machine and ear plugs. You'll need them, train that goes by constantly isoud.

When we first checked in we were concerned about the earplugs and white noise machine. A commuter train passed along the side of the hotel. We didn’t hear it once. We stayed on the highway facing side of the hotel. The star of the show was the breakfast. So many options! 10/10. Great place to stay for a Salem visit.

Our group enjoyed our stay! Nice rooms, had requested adjoining and they did not disappoint! Showers were nice as well! Also the free breakfast was the best any of us have experienced! Great stay!

The property is located next to a major road so expect some toad noise. One early morning the people in the next room were making some noise. Also the hot water in the shower only lasted a couple of minutes.
The room was clean as well as the lobby.

The staff were great especially when we checked in. The gentleman at the front desk was great. I liked that we could walk to a restaurant for dinner after returning from Salem. Definitely would stay there again.

Road noise was very loud. Whenever large vehicles passed near the hotel, my whole room shaker. It was really hard to sleep because of it.

Old, dingy, smells bad
I booked and prepaid for a king room which was not available when I checked in. The hallway smelled bad, vents were dirty, the curtains in the room had mold/mildew on them, and the bathtub was horribly stained.

Good location, nothing special
We stayed here 1 night, mostly because the location and price. Our room was fine except the carpet was very worn leading into the bathroom and I didn’t like the pillows (too plump). Front desk people were very pleasant and the breakfast was typical of a “free” breakfast. It seemed like an older hotel, looked a bit tired. It suited us for the night.

Would stay again!
The property is not the most updated but totally sufficient. It was clean, the staff were friendly and courteous. The location is very conveniently located to the venue we were attending, restaurants and shopping super close, cost per night very reasonable and the two bottled waters they gave us on arrival was a small but appreciated gesture. Parking lot is small and it looked like it was full. We got the very last spot the night we stayed. Would stay again.

Pull out bed stench
My dad daughter and I arrive around 10 pm after a full 12 hour day in Salem. The room appeared clean despite a strange odor in elevator on way up. My daughter pulled out the couch bed made it with provided linens in a bag in the room we both showered and went to bed. About an hour later she crawled into bed with me and said something smelled like skunk and it was making her sick to her stomach, I began to notice it each time the AC unit kicked on by earlier morning I too had a terrible headache and nausea from the contained odor in our room. Once we gave up on sleep my daughter said she really thought it was the pull out and had me smell it. Sure enough it did not appear dirty but smelled like pure stench almost like musty rotten smell.We dressed and left tired and nauseated. I did tell the clerk at check out and she just thanked me for letting her know. Beware of pull out beds here! It took several hours for either of us to get the odor out of our noses.

Comforable and clean hotel that offers a simple continental breakfast and complementary water upon request. This hotel was close to public transit, for example, we drove 15 minutes to the nearest Orange Line station, parked, and spent the day in the city. Overall: good night sleep, good breakfast, and close to city.

The price was inflated for the age of the facility and this week. By far the was not what I expected for a Marriott hotel. The was no room service provided during the 3 night stay and no hot water.

The entire staff was attentive and welcoming. Free hot breakfast was great. Room was very comfortable with thoughtful touches. White noise machine and earplugs helped my wife get an uninterrupted sleep. Shower was wonderful - easy to adjust and nice pressure. We will definitely stay again.

There was an instance in which the door to our room was ajar when we returned late in the evening the staff was responsive. No one followed up the following day. Nothing was missing though it was pretty unsettling.

Checkin was fast no issue. Our room was nice and clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had our own microwave in the room which was a great surprise, so no need to go to the lobby. Breakfast was included and they actually had warm food not just bagels and donuts. The only thing I wished they had was the pool inside and a hot tube. It was a perfect stay.

Tolerable for the price/amenities
The shower could have been cleaned some more and I saw some spots that needed to be vacuumed. They also served the same breakfast daily and I wanted more variety. The hotel is right next to train tracks and the highway so it can be a little noisy. Convenience to restaurants and other activities were good though.

Great location, but too much plastic
Clean & tidy hotel in a very convenient location! My husband & I were able to get everywhere we needed to be (Concord, Boston, and Tewksbury) without difficulty, and it was not loud in our room despite the proximity to the highway. Loved that the room had a couch & fridge (as well as coffee, although we never used the machine in our room). Our king sized bed was comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was exceptional for a hotel. However, I was incredibly disappointed to see so much plastic/single use items (plates, flatware, cups, etc) at breakfast. If I only needed a knife to butter my toast, I had no choice but to get a full packet of flatware & toss the unused fork & spoon into the garbage. Just wish there were more eco-friendly options.

Pleasant staff - lots of traffic noise
This might be the loudest hotel I’ve stayed in. The highway is right outside the window. It seemed a little rundown, but almost all the employees seemed happy and friendly. The night clerk I encountered early one morning was the one exception as she argued on the phone - on speaker! - with someone as we attempted to enjoy breakfast. Also, there were large spots on the ceiling where there had clearly been damage. Overall, a tired hotel trying its best.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel and the proximity to both Boston and Salem. The hotel was clean and the breakfast served each day had ample options. The front desk staff was friendly and always greeted us as we came and went. Would absolutely stay here again for a long weekend trip to Mass.

After reading other reviews I was a little skeptical. But that all quickly changed from the moment we walked in the door. The staff, and I mean ALL the staff went above to make sure we had a great visit. We checked in early on Thursday, and was there till noon on Monday. So we met the weekday and week end staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

I was charged 100 dollars more than the agreement from the site. The toilets didn’t work in both rooms. Elevator broke down and we were on the 4th floor. The breakfast was microwaveable food and gross. But excellent hot water for shower.

The person checking me in at the front desk was wearing a lanyard with profanity that expedia will not allow me to write in this review, so you can probably guess how bad it was. But I have a photo so ... Anyway that's the face of Marriott when you walk in this hotel. I told the guy that I was not upset but that is was unprofessional and showed very poor judgement. Other than that he was nice, but not sure he connected the dots.

The property was fairly quiet for where it is located. Room was comfortable. They provided breakfast but there didn't seem to be anyone responsible for emptying the 2 overflowing trash barrels in the breakfast room. quite unsightly and unsafe as far as I'm concerned. I brought it to someone's attention while we were having our breakfast and again a hour or more later when we were checking out. Young lady behind service desk was rude, speaking in another language to her coworker, while holding my license at check out. Not sure we will go back.

Hotel needs better management of room status
Hotels parking is very tight.
Upon arrival we went to our room and it had not been cleaned. Luckily nobody was in the room as at first we thought someone was sleeping (but it was just blankets in a bunch on the bed)
This is the 2nd time staying at this hotel within the last year and this happened both times.
Also had bursts of cold water during shower. Will not be returning.

Our room did not have extra pillows, sheets or blankets for the pull-out couch. We realized this at 11:30pm and when we called the front desk, we had to go downstairs and retrieve them from the front desk staff (who were very pleasant and friendly). Room was not dirty, but not super clean (bathroom door was covered in dirty fingerprints, carpet could've been vacuumed again, etc.). It was a very night when we checked it so I'm assuming in the rush there are little things that can get overlooked.
