Perfect weekend getaway

Comfortable Convenience
Location! Next to my office building, State Street and easy commute to expressway. The hotel looks great in winter decorations and staff were always friendly and warm. The room was large and comfortable.
The fees were transparent at booking but a bit high and typical pricey minibar. But overall, enjoyed my stay and the convenience.

Put a blanket in the room!
Cold room and no blanket on bed or in closet. Pocket door to toilet didn’t work.
Left my glasses in room. Called a few hours later and nothing. Maid must have thrown them away.

The room was nice , the staff were friendly but the rooms are cold. Even if you have the temperature high , by it being the winter time the huge windows still bring a chill.

The holiday decor in the lobby was excellent! Really well executed.
The housekeeping staff for our stay was sub par. Dust balls under the sink and WC. Left tip for housekeeping and she took it without making up the room. When we called her back she asked us if we just wanted towels. The whole 5-day trip, housekeeping was definitely lacking.

Bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable and my son said the shower was awesome. What i didn't like the adjacent door they keep bumping and banging on the door around 11 pm laughing.

I enjoyed my stay, beautiful atmosphere & accommodating staff! Amazing views. Only disadvantage was entering & exiting the driveway due to construction & holiday traffic. Friendly employees at The Columbus Tap. I'll be back again!

The Fairmont was so beautifully decorated for the holidays! It is located very close to Millennium Park as well as all of thw shopping on Michigan Ave. The staff were kind and helpful and accomodated our need for adjoining rooms. We will definitely stay again

When arriving we were told by the concierge that there was no free parking, we could park personally for $38 or use the concierge service for over $70, I chose to park the car, ended up in the wrong underground garage, got lost going back to the hotel & later when trying to find the car. Very upset & frustrated.

First time to stay at fairmont, it was great. Lobby cozy and all decked for Christmas holidays. Staff was attentive and kind, check in was easy. Great lobby restaurant and bar. Elevators were extraordinarily fast and it was quiet in the room plus we had a wonderful city and lake view.

Christmas Staycation
We stayed downtown for an evening as we caught a couple Christmas shows at Symphony Hall. The Fairmont as a great location for the shows, dinner and enjoying the festive feel of Chicago during the holiday season.

Expedia offers a Lakeview room. The hotel doesn't have a Lakeview room. Hotel management said they explained this to 3rd party companies like Expedia years ago. Book through the hotel. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. A bit outdated. We've stayed in about 25 different hotels in Chicago over the years. Many better options in the city.

This place was the best place i have ever stayed. Briught a mircowave to my room fof my child and her milk. No charge and was just awesome service. Valet was alil slow but rhey were still professional.

I love staying at the Fairmont,this stay was a little off. The first day i checked in the ice bucket was used. Also the heater in the bedroom was not working. Over all it was a great stay.

Cleaning people knocked on door at 8:30 on Saturday, came back at 10, told her to wait half an hour, came back at 10:20 when I was in shower and she was making the bed. Left garbage in room, hurried out, a bit embarrassed, it was awkward. Nice place, we enjoyed our stay. Food items on dresser were eaten and empty, bottles partially empty and not refilled, nobody noticed.

Nice hotel in great area, walkable to most attractions south of the river. A little off the main Wacker St that’s crazy busy. Rooms are large and well appointed but showing their age a bit. Overall good experience

The rooms are good, the service is good. The restaurant was overwhelmed and service was very slow for breakfast. Our food was served cold and the quality did not meet the high price paid. The hallway on our floor is not looking great. Our door was catching and did not close properly, we had to pull or push the door shut to latch. Pretty expensive for what we experienced. Not sure I would return at the price paid.

So close to State street shopping. Staff was friendly. Bedding was fabulous. Room was spic and span. Loved it had a sound machine. Coff maker was great and made delicious coffee.

The door man was the best of any hotel I’ve been to. The floor I was on was newly renovated and beautiful. My sink wouldn’t open to drain and I was unable to plug in the nespresso machine.

I would have definitely scored my stay as 4.5/5 but one thing struck so much to me that affected all of the great stuff. I requested for a microwave and fridge and everything went smooth until I used them. I already smelled bleach when these were delivered but I thought that they were thoroughly wiped, at least on the outside but after using the microwave, the steam and smell of bleach overwhelmed my nostrils, to a point that I thought it contaminated my food. Same thing with the fridge, the inside was wiped with bleach heavily. In the end, I did not use both anymore and I just left wandering if should have just throw the food I warmed initially.

The best place for a day off!
Everything has been awesome with every one of my stays. The only issue I had was that my request for a later checkout was granted at check-in but then the day of checkout, I was asked three times by staff why I was still there 15-30 minutes after checkout for everyone else. I had only asked for an extra hour so I hadn't thought it would cause as much issue as it did. Everything still got handled, just a lot of phone calls later.

Hotel is a little older, concierge was a little rude upon check in. I don't think this Fairmont is representative of all Fairmonts. I don't think the value for the dollar is at this Fairmont in Chicago. I'd recommend staying elsewhere too. Would recommend tourists to stay in West Loop or closer to The Wrigley Building.

Perfect stay in Chicago
I just returned from a four night stay at the Fairmont Millennium Hotel in Chicago. I highly recommend this hotel. The level of customer service that I received from every member of the staff was incredible. My room was clean and comfortable and having both a soaking bathtub and great shower was a plus. In all of my travels this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever experienced. In addition the location was excellent. I was able to walk to museums, shows, restaurants and stores. I’d consider a return to Chicago and another stay at the Fairmont in a heartbeat!

I could not believe how outdated the room was. Plus I found trash for the previous people who stayed there. Really bad smell . Not a good stay for the price . $20 internet fee $77 a day for valet plus a recreational fee it’s insane.

This is the second Fairmount we have stayed in this year, and it was the better of the 2! Perfect location, super comfortable bed, updated, great lobby, etc. The gym was one of the best hotel gyms I have used. Only complaint was parking- $77 a night and a resort fee. When you are paying a lot per night already, shouldnt be charged so much on those items.

Staff was great and parking was affordable at the millennium lot. The only thing I disliked was how my phone’s GPS was not working, but apparently that’s normal for this part of the city because of the buildings. Overall, the hotel was was clean and housekeeping was excellent. It was nice to be able to walk to nearby restaurants as well. I would stay again.

Hotel was rated as “luxury”, it is far from luxury. Fairmont missed the mark. Tissue box was empty. I had to request clean glassware, daily. Only a minibar in the room. No refrigerator in the room. No access to a microwave. No hotel store. Ordered prime rib at the restaurant and it was greatly over cooked. Manager told us that the steaks are precooked and the chef simply completes the cooking. Paid extra for a view of the lake. We were told, at check in, that we would be able to see the lake during the day. She was correct, if you looked really hard, through all of the buildings, you could see a slice of the lake. The hotel is across the street from Chicago’s finest fire department. I appreciate how active they are, but is loud, all night long. No sound insulation. Poorly insulated period as you could feel the wind coming through the windows. The smoke alarm in the room kept beeping as well.

Hotel was perfect for the marathon runners! Close to everything. There was an issue every day of no cups, tea and coffee. Not sure why they can’t replace everyday? House keeping also threw away items that were put to one side as souvenirs!

We recently stayed at this property while participating in the Chicago Marathon. The location was excellent and we were close to the starting line for both the marathon and 5km races.
The location was also central to Michigan Ave and all the shops and restaurants so this hotel really is central to all the major attractions.
The only downside is that there is no pool.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for those coming to run the marathon or anyone looking for a centrally located hotel.

Solid accomodations and excellent service.
The hotel staff was excellent. They allowed me to check in immediately upon arrival even though I was early. We experienced a bit of an emergency on check out day and they afforded me extra time to check out. The housekeeping and room service folks were attentive. I used the gym which I thought was very well equipped. The elevators came quickly and often. Very pleased.
