My fiancé had surgery at Northwestern next door. This hotel was extremely convenient and affordable. It was a very short walk to the hospital and I appreciated that. However, I would recommend requesting a room that does not face the alley. I have never heard such a noisy alley in any of my travels. The trucks and garbage pick up was nonstop. It was incredibly loud, and even happened at 10pm, 4am, etc. I'm sure the other rooms are nice and provide a better experience.

This was my first time staying at this hotel in Chicago and I would like to say that the rooms were quite spacious, and the location is between Michigan Avenue and the Navy pier which is considered walkable depending on your preference. The only issue is that a Hotel is next to the Emergency department if you’re a light sleeper you will hear the ambulance very frequently day in and day out at least they offer a complementary breakfast.

Was there for a week as my wife was a patient in the nearby Northwestern Hospital. Staff was very kind, and assisted me in extending my stay a couple of days when I needed to. Bed was a little rough on my back but that may have been me as I'm an oversized guy. Parking is Chicago parking, so never cheap but they were right there w valet if you wanted it or you could self park if you wanted but without in/out privileges - read up on the details before going. I did so this was no surprise to me. Breakfast was a hot breakfast with many options and ran 6-10 which is very flexible. Housekeeping was outstanding and earned every tip I left and then some.

This property is disgusting. Giant gaps in the floor which can cause cuts to your feet, holes in the wall, obvious signs of water damage in the walls and ceiling that aren’t fixed or aren’t painted to blend in. Scrapes and what look to be paint transfers everywhere. Furniture is in horrible condition. I thought being a Marriott this place would have better standards.

The staff are super nice and friendly! Variety of options for breakfast that we appreciated so much after a long night. It’s only about a 30 minute walk from the train station which we loved since we got to walk through the city. There’s also so many delicious food places around the hotel!

I visit Chicago often and have tried several other hotels but keep coming back to this one! I will continue to stay here because of the location, clean and quiet facility, and the safe area. The only thing I would ask of this facility is that they fix the treadmills in the workout area.

I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for the reasonable price. The tub/shower was so clean and the chalk was pure white. Room was meticulously clean. Every time we walked in we were greeted with a hello and smile. I felt safe here too as there’s always staff around the entrance and nobody can use the elevator without a room key. Breakfast was very nice. I have no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommend.

The room had broken outlets, dirty bedsheets, dirty floor, bathroom had crumbling edge of wall around tub. Noisy both mornings from 5-7 am. Terrible night sleep. I also waited 30 mins for the valet. Called twice to preset valet time and no answer. We were late to the concert we were attending because of the delay in getting the car. I would like 2 nights credit for the poor stay.

I extended my stay til the 13th; convenient place to NMH for doctor appointments plus I am most familiar with the area having lived and worked in the area for years...Most helpful staff..Breakfast is a big plus; clean place with staff on their toes for replenishment of items for breakfast; one can see in guests’ faces...and best of all Expedia afforded a good rate compared to others I looked up...be back again in October !!

The property is in a good location and the breakfast is good. However some of the front of house staff are miserable and unwelcoming also our room wasn’t not serviced once during our three night stay, in the end we had to ask at the front desk for clean towels and more coffee. They delivered that whilst we were out but didn’t leave cups for the coffee so we couldn’t use it. When we asked at the desk why the rooms weren’t serviced the girl said she didn’t know if they were meant to be or not and that everybody told her different things. The only helpful person was Charles the porter who stored our bags. He was polite and friendly and the only member of staff who asked if we enjoyed our stay. He was also the only one who told us, after the fact, that we had to request to have our room cleaned..I wouldn’t not stay at this hotel again.

Very nice place to stay. We had trouble shutting a faucet off and called the desk. Someone arrived within 2 minutes and solved the issue. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. My only complaint is with the parking. I wish I had had clearer information. We self parked but the garage was located further away than I found acceptable. Also we were charged more than stated to park because again it wasn't clear that I needed to put the parking charge on my hotel bill to get the hotel rate. I would recommend even if you don't intend to go in and out which we didn't.

The property is in a very good location.
This is the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel. The room we stayed at needed some repairs. Floors has gap, uneven. If I am running this hotel, I won’t put guest here until floor is repaired.
Housekeeping needs to be better. Saw crumbs under the desk when we came.
Monday breakfast was a lot better than Sunday.

I think the 8.6 rating is a bit generous. Nice staff but a little cramped and thin walls. Also, asked valet if I could check on my car’s tire as it has a slow leak and was kept in their garage for 2 nights. I had my own portable pump to air it up if necessary. He assured me they could take care of it before bringing it down. Sure enough, hours later, it was brought down with it nearly flat and low tire indicator on the dash. Having valet’d in college, this should have been taken care of before being brought to a customer that specifically asked about this issue.

PROS: Breakfast buffet was nice, wafflles, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, orange's and bananas, plus Individual peanut butter, hot Chocolate, jelly packs, toast and bagels. Staff was nice and let me check in very early at 8am. Lobby was modern, and had snacks like chips, candy and water for purchase.
CONS: Housekeeping ! Room was modern but not very clean. Found a thick pubic hair on the dresser, shower had rust, dust on counter.

All of the staff members were so helpful and kind, from check in to check out! The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The hotel’s location is close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly consider staying at the Fairfield Marriott on our next visit to Chicago.

The room was very clean however we were put in a handicap room with an adjoining door and it was not a pleasant stay. There was a lot going on next door. The bathroom door weighed a ton in a handicap room. Besides that customer service was good.

We had a terrible experience. The room was dirty, the bathroom light was duct taped to the ceiling and beginning to fall. The sprinkler was resting up against the falling light fixture which is a major safety violation. Their was no exhaust system so the air was foul. A neighboring guest was smoking marijuana in their room which hung in the air. We moved rooms at 11:00 pm at night. The plus side was the location but it wasn’t worth the filth and unsafe environment. Pass on this hotel folks.

I liked the convenient location; the all day coffee; responsiveness of staff.
I didn't like the quality of scrambled eggs used at breakfast. And there was no complimentary water bottles- even for rewards members.

The hotel was immaculate and recently renovated. It was centrally located (2 short blocks from the Magnificient Mile). We liked the fact that the floors in the room were not carpeted.
