Nice enough
The rooms could be a little cleaner, and the gym could have used towels (and a self service spray bottle), but overall servicable, with a very friendly staff. Bed was comfortable.

This hotel is not right on the highway like many of the chain hotels. There are plenty of restaurants around and it's near Baxter Village where you can take a nice walk or run.

The woman who greeted me and checked me in was very friendly and efficient. She gave me several recommendations within walking distance where I could find some dinner. The property was very clean and looked new.

It was okay. The breakfast wasn’t that great for what Holiday Inn Is known for, but okay. Beds weren’t comfortable either. These are just what I’ve come to love about Holiday Inn, so it was a let down. But nothing was bad though. Safe, relatively clean, easy check in and out procedures, great amenities.

Clean and well maintained. Close to fuel and food. Check in staff seemed depressed like she didn't want to be there but we all have a bad day. Wish extra fee was in the bill during booking. Budgeting becomes difficult when there are surprises.

Home away from home
Our room was very clean & comfortable. The shower was nice & roomy, & the water pressure was actually great (so often in hotels it's just too weak!). Each person at the front desk answered any questions we had, & always with a smile. It started to feel like home after a few days! This meant so much to us as we were there for medical appointments at the cancer center. We also enjoyed the pool very much! Will be staying here when I'm in the area!

Everything about this hotel was fine except for the dirty bathroom. It literally cancelled anything good about this stay out because it was so moldy and disgusting, definitely not up to par with standards for this hotel chain.

Our room was just okay. There were a lot of stains on the carpet. There were also a lot of “hairs” in the room and bathroom. That grosses me out. Hotels never give enough towels anymore. 4 people and they give you 2 or 3 towels.

I liked the staff but wasn't happy with some of what I was told were your hotel policies. I tried to purchase bottled cokes and was told the front desk wasn't allowed to accept cash or place it on a tab, causing me to make another trip to my room and back for a credit card. I called in advance to ask if an earlier check-in was available and was told i could show up early but they didn't know if it was possible, but assured me the room would be held till we checked in, which we did that evening. And the morning of check out I called at about 3:30 am requesting a late check out as I was ill, and the person answering said he'd note the request but didn't know if it was okay. My family came to help me get out on time so I never found out if it would have been okay. Everyone of the staff were pleasant just not terribly accommodating. I was cold due to illness and there were no spare blankets available in the room. My husband doesn't walk well so running to the front desk was not an option.

BEWARE! If you book through Expedia or 3rd party and even pay in FULL, they will try to downgrade your room and not offer discount or price for that room. On top of that, receptionist gave me two different stories of why the room I booked was not available. AND, No phone call or warning. NEVER ever stay at this property again!!!!!! Receptionist, Kristen, even stated they were canceling others bookings as well. When your 4 hours away and not arriving until late due to being at Scarowinds, this is not what you want to hear when you call to inform of your late arrival. We come to area often and typically stay elsewhere near the park. We will never stay here again and I will warn everyone I can of the customer service received. I have contacted the manager via telephone and email with NO response. BEWARE!!!!! Go to another HOTEL!!!!!!!

This Holiday Inn Express is top-notch. Every part of the building and grounds looks clean and fresh. Friendly, helpful staff. Check-in was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again if i was passing through.

Exceptional hotel!
Everything was wonderful! Staff very knowledgeable of the area to assist in dinner decision. Room was clean and had the most current technology. Breakfast had wide variety and very good. Will be staying here again!

Not good stay..:( the sofabed was dirty, some hair in the washroom and sadly I could not sleep until 2 a.m because it was too noisy. Some people were downstairs shouting and screaming. They disturbed my sleep. I called the help desk to fix the problem but nobody answered. Really disappointed…:(

Property is right off the freeway and there are many dining options all around.
Was not super happy with the hotel itself. No bedding was included in the pullout couch, so we had to go downstairs to grab it.
The breakfast... not good! The milk was curdled...like literally, we poured it on the cereal and it was chunky. Juice tasted like watered down orange juice.
The people working were very friendly, but seemed rushed. The poor lady making breaks was alone and says she didn't even have time to run to the bathroom.
Overall, I would NOT stay here again or recommend it to anyone!

For some reason, the main entrance into the parking lot was closed off. After a long day of driving, we were exhausted and really frustrated that we had so much difficulty finding our way in.

Very nice property and staff. Didn’t like that there was random loud thumping and bumping throughout the night. It wasn’t the doors slamming bc the doors are too heavy to slam. We couldn’t figure out what the noise was or where it was coming from but it kept making us jump every 10 min or so. It even woke my husband up at 4:00am bc he thought someone banged on our door. That’s how loud it was. Other than that, everything else was great.

It appeared there was one employee running the entire hotel.
Free breakfast area was closed at 650am, not an employee on site.
I paid extra for a hotel serving breakfast only to have to go someplace else and pay again for it.
May seem minor but if they aren’t going to serve it then don’t lie and say they are.
